cannot connect to itunes iphone 3G

Guys,I have windows 7 x64. My wifes 3G just wont get recognized by itunes 9. I have opened a ticket with Apple where they made me uninstall and install itunes like 4 times already, had me do a bunch of stuff but nothing has worked. I finally installed itunes on a XP machine and it was able to sync fine but I have no idea what the issue is on the Windows 7 machine that wont let itunes recognize my phone. itunes works fine with my 4G but whenever i connect the 3G itunes just freezes up for a while and then nothing. I do hear the connection sound when i connect the phone which tells me Windows recognizes the 3G being connected but itunes does not.If anyone knows a fix for this, it would be very appreciated!thanks,Ken Windows Windows 7

Wont Restore Error 29. What Now iphone 3G

This is a phone which I dont know the history of. It was given to me today to see if I can get it going. So far, when attempting to restore it, I get Error 29. I believe OS4 was installed prior to this issue but Im not sure. Heres the details. Calendar events not sync to iphone 4

iphone wont connect sync show up in iTunes-HELP

Hi All,I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.I have 2 x iphone 3Gs and a 160GB iPod classic.The iPod classic can sync with iTunes no problem.When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.I am using the same cable as my iPod and it starts charging the phone.My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photos.However iTunes does not recognise the phone.I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.Does anytone have any suggestions?I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck. App store app on iphone 4 Can not execute request

HY!So since i have my new iphone 4 i have a problem with the itunes store app on the iphone.When i´m connected(doesn´t matter if 3G or wifi) i open the app store app and the phone connects me to the Top 25 page or search function or updates. These pages are working proper.BUT as soon i tap on the highlight page he tries to connect and after a few seconds a message window appears. The itunes store can not execute your request. Wont sync iphone 3G

Im trying to sync my iphone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. It also sometimes says the required file cannot be found (Im trying to sync a new ringtone onto it and I have NOT moved any previously synced files).I have the latest iphone update and the latest version of iTunes. Ive tried restoring to a back up but then that stuffs up as well.What can I do?? Asus Windows 7

Some of my pictures in my picture roll just show up as black but i can click and they open up as the actual picture but i cant see what the thumbnails are. Help please?

Photo sync issue albums not showing up but photos exist iphone 4

Purchased a 32GB iphone 4 today and am experiencing a weird issue with the Photos app. Even though it says the album from iPhoto is synced (showing 73 photos on my iphone in Settings>General>About) when I launch the Photos app it only shows me my camera roll, not my Photo Library.Now, if I go through Wallpaper, the photos show up via my Photo Library. But this seems like a very clunky way of being able to access photos store on my phone.This isnt my first iphone but something Im not used to having to deal with. iphone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iphone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. I cant even get my phone on to even try and reset it. I dont know what to do. Windows XP

Who Has Had Perfect iphone 4 Experience

My iphone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from Apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iphone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iphone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? Emails deleted in Entourage still appear on iphone

I am using 3G iphone (4.0.2) and sync with Entourage 2008 on intel Mac through Exchange server. Had been working fine. Recently - messages deleted in Entourage dont delete on the iphone - very aggravating. I can send email from iphone fine, I can delete messages on iphone and they delete in entourage. Upgraded to 4.0.2-backup files look weird iphone 3G

I have upgraded a 3G to 4.0.2. The upgrade did NOT invite me to do a backup. (Im scared stiff doing upgardes of any sort and always opt for backups if Im given the chance!) I dont understand why the files which are on my hard disk where (I think) backups should be dont seem to match the backups that iTunes thinks I have. Please can anyone explain to me why they look different and what backups I do really have?On my hard disk in location Macintosh HD-Users-myname-Library-iTunes-iphone Software Updates I have just one item. It is called iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw and it was modified at the time I did the upgrade to 4.0.2. It is 305.4MB. In that folder of iphone Software Updates there is nothing else and the folder itself was modified at the exact same time ie when I did the upgrade.However, if I look in iTunes under iTunes-Preferences-Devices under Device backups it tells me I have 3: the first is dated when I did the upgrade to 4.0.2; the next is from 20 months ago; and the 3rd is from 6 months ago.To me it seems that iTunes thinks I have 3 backups but I can only see 1 on my hard disk.Please can someone explain whats going on?

iphone 4 all 3rd party apps including their data suddenly gone

There is a strange and very annoying bug in iOS 4 (4, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2); every once in while all third party apps including their data get deleted from the iphone. This happens WITHOUT any user interaction, apparently random and not during sync. The iphone just rests on the desk unused, then I pick it up again, unlock the screen and find out that all 3rd party apps are gone. The original Apple apps including their data are just fine. Very strange and very annoying. Did someone else suffer from this problem? Belkin Clear Hard Case iphone 4

The Shield Micra case. This was my free case through the case program. Cant say anything good about it. Literally 3 cents worth of plastic and the top and bottom are completely open and not protective at all. Opening for volume buttons is too small btw. No one with average hand size will like it. I have another clear case I really like (no brand from handhelditems.com). But I thought, well try the Belkin. A half hour later I finally succeeded in getting my phone out of the darn thing and had to be VERY careful not to damage the phone in the process. There is NO EASY WAY to take the phone out to clean. I have just updated my 3G iphone and all is well apart from the fact that its deleted my music & video playlists and will not sync the backed up selection from iTunes on my Macbook Pro? iTunes crashes when iphone 3G connects HELP Tried everything

Hello all,Ive been having a problem with my iphone 3G for a while now, where whenever I plug it in while iTunes is open, iTunes just crashes. Ive tried reinstalling iTunes completely (following these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) as well as restarting computer, updating all apple software, deleting iTunes preferences, re-installing the iTunes USB driver...Nothing seems to work! Before, if I was lucky, I was given the opportunity to restore my iphone to factory settings (set up a new iphone...the backups stopped working ages ago). Have to re-install iTunes everytime I sync iphone 4

The most annoying thing ever, for ages I couldnt get my computer to recognise my new iphone, after trying everything I re-installed iTunes and it worked. I then plugged it in the day after and it wouldnt recognise it was plugged in, it didnt come up in finder or in iTunes. So I re-installed iTunes again, and it worked. I synced up my iphone twice more and have just gone to sync a 3rd time and AGAIN it is not recognised, and will not show up anywhere on my mac. Do I seriously have to re-install iTunes everytime I want to update songs or anything on my iphone? I have tried everything that is suggested in forums and on the Apple site, nothing works except un-installing and then re-installing iTunes, but I cant do this everytime! Syncing Bookmarks Creating .dat file iphone 4

Every time that Im syncing my bookmarks some 300 .dat files are created (*.dat.*) as a bookmarks in IE, scattered around my favorites. Accepting invites iphone 4

I have an iphone 4 and my wife has a blackberry. When we send each other invites by email we can see the invite but can not open it an thus does populate our calenders. I just downloaded google calen and this takes me to the internet to my email account and using this app I can send a invite to my wifes blackberry and she can accept it and it will populate her calender. But how can she send me a invite from her blackberry so that I can accept it on my iphone. Basically with google calen I can now send an invite but I need help ACCEPTING AN INVITE FROM A BLACKBERRY. iphone 4 iOS 4

Problems syncing iphone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

Syncing new iphone 4 problem

I am computer illiterate. I have a new iphone 4, which is recognised by itunes (an account created for use with my ipod touch). Whilst podcasts are synced I cant sync the complete music library, it seems only to sync a couple of albums purchased through itunes and not find about 20gb of music I have in the library. used iphone not recognized in itunes

I just got a used iphone (my wifes old phone after she upgraded) and am having trouble syncing with itunes. Itunes does NOT recongize the iphone under devices. Do we need to remove it somehow from my wifes itunes before it will sync with my itunes?P.S. - I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, checking software conflicts, USB and device divers, etc... per suggestions on the apple support pages. Downgrade from 4.0.2 to 3.1.3 iphone 3G

Okey, here is the deal.I just got a iphone 3G and was totally extatic about it and couldnt take my hands off it from about a day (lol). And then i plugged it into itunes today and it told me to upgrade to 4.0.2, so i did... now it takes about 5 seconds to open a text and another 3-4 to get the keyboard up... iv had it less then a day and its already sh*t... iv scanned the forum and im not the only unhappy person, is there any solid way to fix this and downgrade back to 3.1.3? I want my blinking phone to work after iv payed such alot for it =/. Seeing as you cant e-mail Apple for help, you can only call them (kinda dumb to be hones) id rather come here for help.Id love any response / help i can get, is apple going to do anything about this or whats the deal?Thanks Windows 7

iphone 4 correct video import process

OK so i understand the correct process for importing photos. They go in your camera roll, until you import them into iphoto then they get re synced back to the phone to the photos app. Kind of a digital representation of old fashioned getting your film developed.Now, how is video supposed to work - i cant figure this out. You shoot some video. It again goes into camera roll and is synced into iPhoto (???? even though its not a photo and is a video). Because this is video at this point nothing happens to it as it is not resynced back to your phone in a more organised place - iPhoto doesnt sync video to the photos app on your phone. Thought apple would have given video a home like photos live in the photo app, video perhaps lives in a video app or even iPod (same as other videos/films you have on your phone). Question about screeningrejecting calls etc iphone 4

Hi, Im new to the forums as of today. I had a 3G for a while, upgraded because of the OS4 issues (to a Samsung Galaxy) then went back and ordered an iphone 4 instead because, well... I love the interface, apps, and my iTunes music that I was unable to port over. Not a fan of the mp3/computer interfacing of android phones, I think the sync stuff with iTunes is far more user friendly. But...onto my real issue/questionLong story short, I did like one feature from the Galaxy and that was to auto-reject a call with a filler text message such as Im driving or will call back, and I cant figure out how or if we can do this on an iphone.Ive done some research on this and some google suggestions such as http://www.programmerfish.com/send-auto-sms-on-iphone-4/ say this feature is automatic on this phone since its an iphone 4 but every time I double click the power button it just sends the call to voicemail with no such interface to send a reject message etc. Does anybody know what the deal is? Nervous about doing Phone Book Contacts sync to my iMac. iphone 3G

Hi,I want put all my contacts from my iphone onto my imac when I am doing my synching of applications etc but I am nervous as I have heard you can lose some or all if done in the wrong way. I dont have any problems synching my apps,manually managed music and events, photos etc but Ive always been nervous when doing contacts, I have heard you need to have one exclusive contact on the imac for all the phone contacts to be added, is this the case? Also, if I add a new contact onto my imac at a later date, will it be added to my iphone when I next do my synching?Thanks Adam

Missing Features From 4.0.2 Update on iphone 3G

Hi,I recently updated to 4.0.2 software on my iphone 3G. I understand that not all the new features of the software are going to work on the iphone 3G like the multi-tasking etc.I dont seem to have iBooks which I thought would work on the 3G? Has anyone else found this? Also, I understand photos has been updated to now show the location on the map where the photo was taken. The first time I opened my camera after doing the update, i was asked if I would allow my current location. I said no to it thinking that I would be asked each time but now when I open the camera, it doesnt ask me and doesnt show where the photo was taken etc. Does anyone know why this is? I have not had occasion to access AT&T Wifi in the USA with the i4, but while in the Stockholm airport this morning there was an active network that could have connected me to AT&T Wifi. Weird glitch. Everytime I open Photos app it instantly creates new email iphone 4

Empty address bar and what isnt even the newest picture in the roll. I even deleted all instances of the picture it is using and it still does it. As soon as I open up Photos, I just tries to email that same picture everytime. Its annoying having to click cancel, then delete draft every-time. I checked my drafts folder too, empty. iphone 3G gone slow

I got my iphone 4 2 days ago. Everything works fine except every time I open the camera, the phone freeze and restart itself. Suddenly cant sync iphone 3G

After getting home from a trip where I had been syncing with my MBP, I just tried synching with my iMac and cant. The backup seemed to work. 4.0.2-wheres my camera gone iphone 4

Loaded up 4.0.2 like a good boy. I was having mms issues where the phone wouldnt remember the settings. Still have the same problem now but my camera has stopped working. It initialise, but the shutter doesnt open so I can only guess at hardware/ firmware issue??I can access camera pictures from it within the app, and if I choose take picture from within contacts, it just gives me the closed shutter as well. Before you ask, a month old and always in a case, never dropped or left in direct sunlight in a car mount for long. Worked fine just before update as well?? Some iphone apps wont transfer back to iTunes

Just before I hit the upgrade button to download iOS4, iTunes reported that some of my apps on my iphone werent backed up, or synced.I hit sync and they still werent backed up. I tried Transfer Purchases from iphone... and they still wont back up. I am pretty sure most of the apps that refuse to sync were downloaded from the App Store on my iphone.How can I force iTunes to recognise them? I really dont want to lose the data when a new OS comes out or an upgrade comes along. Why dont Apple enable iOS upgrade via app store etc without using iTunes iphone 4

Is their a technical reason for iphone OS upgrades only being completed via iTunes. Why can they not let it occur over air, via app store or similar. I accept its a large file and on 3G it may not be a good idea for networks, but on WiFi it could work.If its due to need for iphone back up, most people sync regularly and have back up. You could offer a warning/disclaimer to say if not done via iTunes you may risk needing to restore phone using an older back up etc?It could also force upgrade or remind less savvy users of new upgrade by push etc?Is it for iphone handset verifcation/checks - if so, can it not be verifed via handset communication via push/WiFi link or app store etc?Any thoughts, just curious..PS - any news on 4.1 release?? Ive upgraded from PC to MacBook Pro and iphone 3GS to iphone 4-HELP

I am currently using a PC and have my iphone 3GS synced to that unit.I decided to upgrade my PC to a MacBook Pro two days ago and have received my new iphone 4 today.My question is – how am I able to get my current iphone 3GS back up that is on my PC on to my new MacBook pro so that I can sync my music/contacts/notes/messages etc to my new iphone 4?I have avoided syncing my current iphone 3GS to the new MacBook as I knew I would be receiving my iphone 4 this week.Please help – Losing my iphone data is not an option as I have extremely important contacts/text messages that I need to keep for legal reasons.
