Please HELP Transfering applications from one computer to another iphone 3G

So, heres the problem, I have an older computer, Dell running Windows XP that I originally synced my iphone to. I just purchased a new computer, Dell running Windows 7 that I attempted to sync my iphone to and it has failed miserably. i care little for the music as I have backups of it, the items I do not have backups for are my applications. When I attempted to transfer purchases it only transferred 30 (out of 116) of my apps. Ive already attempted the following:1. Transferred iTunes library from my old computer to the new one2. Authorize my computer to transfer purchases. Even though I did this 66 of my purchases will still NOT transfer, I honestly dont know why.3. Backing up the phone on my old lap and transferring that backup to the new computer and trying to restore it from the new computerI am seriously game for trying anything. My old laptop is on its last leg, so I really need to be able to sync my phone to the new one so that it works! Every time Ive tried to sync on my new computer it just erases ALL my applications and leaves the 30 that it recognizes. This is beyond frustrating! I understand that the iphone can only be tied to one computer, but if thats the case they should have provided the ability to unsync it from one to resync to another! I really dont want to repurchase apps because iTunes cant sync properly. And before anyone suggests I dont have to pay apps again, apparently the apps are not tied to your account, they are tied to the iTunes, because Ive already tried that as well. Tonight I was using my iphone to listen to some audio files. When I finished I unplugged the headphones and left the phone for a while. Ten or fifteen minutes later I went to use the phone and could not get anything on the display. I assumed the phone had turned itself off so plugged into Macbook to charge. Surprisingly the phone connected to iTunes, did a backup and synch and showed the battery was mostly charged, but still a black display.Has my phone died? If I try calling it I can hear it ringing on the line but the phone itself remains silent with a black screen. When connecting my iphone to my pc itunes does not open automatically, i have to open itunes manually. itunes then regonises my phone on the screen on the left hand side but no phone menu comes up underneath it. iphone wont sync 3G

Went to sync by phone last night, downloaded the new version of Itunes, plugged in my iphone, it took awhile to recognise my phone, first started to charge it, then started to sync, then went off, then started to charge it, then tried to sync etc... this just kept on going like this until I got an error message. ITunes did recognise the phone when it tried to sync it initially, then it just stopped. In the end I gave up trying to sync the phone. Whenever I make changes to the Notes on the iphone, during the sync, the confirmation box shows up asking to confirm that I want to change Notes on the PC. Hi,Ive replaced my PC with a new one and therefore want to sync my iphone 3G with the new PC.Ive managed to sync everything bar photos. When I attempt to check the box to include photos in the sync, I am warned that doing so will erase all photos from the iphone.How can I prevent this from happening? Custom ringtone weirdness iphone 3G

So i have read all over the place about issues with custom ringtones on the iphone 3G. I have a combination of ones I have created (mp3->AAC->m4r files), I have figured out to place them into the ringtones directory but here is the problem...I can only get one or 2 to show up at a time. Example...Ringtone A, B, C, D are added to the ringtone directory on the iphone. Only Ringtone B shows on the phone after syncing. If I go into iTunes and remove B from the iphone, it syncs again...but now Ringtone C appears on the phone itself. iTunes shows the other tones in the directory. What is going on here? Something is being parsed wrong? File settings? If any of the tones are the only ones on the phone, they show up and work fine. It is once more than one are added to the directory that it just acts like a nut and randomly picks what will show up. iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.2

iphone got virus through email-doesnt affect phone but has spread to PC 3G

I had a Windows Vista computer that would boot up and programs could open but, once opened, the programs were totally unresponsive. The mouse worked, but wouldnt click on any part of an open window (not anything - browser window, Word, Excel...nothing would work once opened). I couldnt even reinstall Windows. This computer was older and I had been intending on replacing.I got a new HP with Windows 7, all programs loaded fine, all pictures and documents were restored. When I plugged in my iphone to sync my mail contacts, my computer froze after a few minutes. I rebooted and it started acting exactly like my old one. It appears that my iphone might be carrying a virus. The phone works fine, but I think an email might have had a virus attached to it. I did get a couple wierd emails from a cousin a couple of weeks ago.Has anyone heard of anything like this, or more importantly, does anyone know how to scan and remove a virus from an iphone.Thanks! Barely audible text message sound iphone

When I send a text, go back to the home screen, and receive a new text, my normal text message sound plays. However, when I send a text and lock the phone, without going back to the home screen, if the same recipient texts me back, it will play a sound that is barely audible. It wont even notify me of a new text. I will see that I received a message if I randomly look at my phone. I should add that my normal text sound is the bell, and the barely audible sound is the one where you receive a message as you have the SMS app open. Big difference when you hear the two in terms of volume.Is there anyway to have it notify me with the same sound, rather than the barely audible sound when my phone is locked? iphone iphone OS 3.1.3

I recently bought an iphone 3G, and have been trying to connect it to iTunes. It connected the first time and transfered all apps that Id bought on my phone onto iTunes.However, when I tried to sync the iphone to transfer the apps and my music back onto the iphone, the iphone wouldnt sync properly; iTunes connects to it, and I can press sync, but it finishes syncing almost immediately, and nothing is actually transfered from the computer to the phone.Ive tried the first 4 steps on the Apple support website to rectify this problem, and none of them work. Restore or sync iphone when back from repair 3G

Hello,I have just been to the O2 shop, who have sent my iphone for repair. It should take between 7 and 10 days (they say). I have synced my iphone with iTunes before going to the shop and I understand that when the phone comes back (or it could be a new one), everything will be wiped out. My question therefore is do I need to do a normal sync with iTunes when I get my iphone back or a restore? Hey I had same problem. Just hold the off button by the middle button under the screen and connect the phone to the computer while holding the buttons. open the itune and you need reinstall the software. If that does not work, just google it. "How to reset iphone to factory condition" and so forth. Good luck.

MMS Messaging Not Sent on my 3GS iphone

Last two days I am having trouble sending MMS messages. Get a red exclamation circle after the message. I cleared out loads of photos/apps/messages thinking that the phone might be a bit crowded (mine takes an age to sync). Still having problems. iphone 3G hangs and reboots when connected with USB

Hi,Im having problems with my iphone 3G (it has the last firmware and has never been jailbroken) when trying to sync/charge with the USB cable connected to any PC.. Ive started having problems two days ago (I did not do any particular activity apart from updating 14 apps from iTunes): I connect the phone to my pc, it starts syncing and after few seconds (sometimes 1-2 minutes) the circle with bars appears in the middle of the screen; then, after a while it reboots and the apple logo appears (I usually reboot it with sleep+home because after 20 minutes it is still there).. Ive lost my backups and Im not able to complete the iphone backup, so I dont know how I should proceed now... Maybe I could try to reinstall the firmware, even if Ill loose everything, but is it possible to do that without an active internet connection? Newly purchased mp3 downloads wont sync but all other music does iphone

Hi there,Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Yesterday I purchased 2 programs from a company on the internet. They have 5 tracks each. When I downloaded them, they went straight to iTunes and played just fine. They won't however sync to my iphone, even though the playlists are still checked under the music tab when I go to sync my phone. I did notice that there are little internet/airport symbols next to the title of each track. I've never seen this before and am thinking that, somehow, this is connected to the problem. When i click on the tracks and go to Get Info, under the where section, there is the company's website with the option to edit URL. Perhaps there is something I can change that will take away the interent symbols and get them onto my iphone.Please, please, please help...I really need these tracks to be portable.Thank you so much....Peace and prosperity...Becky

Macbook iTunes Will Not See sync or Charge iPhones 3G

After months of no real problems, my Macbook (OS X 10.4.11) and iTunes (9.03(15)) refuse to recognize my iphone or my wifes iphone. No sync, no charge, nothing in the Finder window. I have an iphone 3G and it has decreasing battery charge time, but I can live with that.Recently, when I connect the iphone to my Mac to sync the phone the battery drains very quickly. hey all,i have a problem with charging iphone battery,i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at alli used both charge connector and USB drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try please help someonethankyouMessage was edited by: LailaGerard iphone OS 3.1.3

iphone back up takes too long 3G

When I sync my iphone 3G (8GB) with iTunes on my computer, the back-up part takes hours! I have restored the phone to its factory settings and this seems to have fixed the problem, but only temporarily - after 2 or 3 back-ups that took 5-10mins (acceptable!), the back-ups are again taking a few hours to complete. My question is does anyone know any apps that could be causing the back-up to be so slow? or any ideas as to what else may be causing the problems and how to fix? 3G 8GB iphone OS 3.1.3

Itunes sync results in PC freeze on same song s iphone 3G

Hello,When I sync my music to my iphone via iTunes, my computer will freeze when attempting to sync specific songs. This problem is repeatable, the computer always freezes with certain songs. I can tell iTunes to only sync checked off songs, and I can uncheck those specific songs, and it will sync fine. Problem is I dont know why certain songs are becoming a problem when they were fine in the past. My songs are stored on a partition on my hard drive other than the main partition. I have heard that a large quantity of songs on a partition can cause problems. Could this be the cause? Is it just corrupt songs? They play fine in iTunes on my PC. I used to sync my iphone to my daughters macbook. I just got a new imac and started to sync to it since this is now my main computer. First it says my phone is synced with another photo library or folder and do I want to sync with my library and replace all existing photos and albums on the phone with those from existing library. Right now I hit no. Then it says my phone is synced with another user account and do I want to sync this phone with the info from this user account instead. My options are to replace info or merge info. Not sure what to do. I want all my calendar and contact info to go from my phone onto my new imac. imac 3.06 ghz 27" Mac OS X (10.6.2)
