Why EQ equalizer function in iPod settings in my iphone 4 keep turning itself off

I'll notice my music sounds flat, too much treble, etc... go into iPod settings and sure enough the equalizer is set of OFF again.  I reset it to rock or bass boost or whatever.  And it then it might be another hour or 3 days later but it turns itself off again.  There doesnt seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason as to when it does this or why.  Annoying.   Any ideas? I have iphone 4 running iOS 6.1

How can I boost weak AT T signal iphone

Traveling in South Eastern Connecticut my phone is nearly useless. No or very low bars, dropped calls, garbled conversations. Very annoying as I need to stay in touch with a sick family member back home in the midAtlantic where iphone works fine. Any suggestions?

how I use call forwarding until I get my iphone 4s working

I purchased an iphone 4S from Apple, unlocked. I also purchased a micro sim card from Straight Talk, then paid to have it activated on Sunday, July 15th. Today, Monday the 16th of July, straight talk told me they have no record of my having paid the $49.15 that I paid to have their sim card activated, but my bank says they took it out of my account. Straight Talk had told me that my boost mobile phone would work until they ported my phone number from boost, but now it doesn't send or receive calls, and I can't make or receive calls on my iphone either. Is there a way I can forward all my calls to another phone until I get the correct profile downloaded into my iphone?

Apple needs to be aware of bluetooth bugs on iphone iphone 4S

on the ipad and ipod, it doesnt matter and works, because if you then pair a bluetooth headset it can only be for listening to music. On iphone however, a bluetooth headset can also be for calling. There is a really annoying bug. There are more old discussions on this forum i found about the iphone's bluetooth... The thing is, the iphone thinks every bluetooth headset in the planet is made for calling. not for enjoying stereo music.I have a nokia BH-905i headset, wich had great sound. But if i pair it to the iphone, it will think it is for calling only. making one of the 2 speakers in this headset a bit louder then the other one. and i cant use the bass boost ect functions. But call functionality is fine. i also have the feeling quality of the sound is downgraded. There is a workaround for this problem. turn of the iphone's bluetooth then put it on again, and right after you turned it on hit the play button on the BH-905i headset. This will make the headset pair with the iphone instead of vice versa. this makes it work in stereo mode. full music quality, both speakers same volume and bass boost ect works.BUT....call functionaily has become crap. I can call someone but the iphone insist on using the loudspeaker of the iphone itself. i cant select other sources to call with. but i also had a few times that i manually needed to select the bluetooth headset and that it then worked - thus missing like 3 seconds of the first conversation making a slight confusion at the other's end. Its a AD2P headset. I hope apple can become aware of this problem, and solve it.

Key click volume iphone 4

Hi,I need to boost the volume of my key click sounds (Im using an iphone 4 as part of a psychological experiment involving acoustic feedback). Its been no problem to replace the default key click sound (Tock.caf) with my own sounds (e.g. by using Cydia and Winterboard in order to quickly load customized sound themes). However, the max volume for key clicks has been quite low since iOS 3.1: As soon as my sound is played back as a key click sound, it gets attenuated. If I play the same sound file over the built-in iPod, its much louder. Amplifying the volume of the sound file before uploading the file to the iphone does not seem to change anything.Does anybody know where in the iphone file structure the attenuation takes place? There has to be a file I can edit in order to disable the attenuation...Thanks and cheers,Klemens iphone 4 iOS 4

Antenna to boost signal on ATT Microcell iphone

We love our iPhones, but we hate our terrible AT&T reception. We purchased a microcell from AT&T. The range on the microcell is pathetic -- the microcells signal becomes iffy in rooms that are just 20 feet away from the microcell. I spoke with an AT&T rep on the phone, and he told me that plugging an antenna into the antenna jack on the microcell might help. I previously thought that this jack was merely for a GPS antenna. Does anyone have any insight into this or have a suggestion as to the type of antenna to purchase? Thanks in advance. iMac 20 inch Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Microcell iphone 3GS

Like many, I have poor AT&T reception in my home. I bought a Microcell to boost my signal. A really basic question as I am attempting to setup. I have an Airport Express router which only has one ethernet port which is being used to connect the router to the Time Warner Cable cable modem which also has only one ethernet port being used to connect it to my router. Since the Microcell connects to either your router or modem via an enternet port, I assume I need either a new router or modem with more than one ethernet port in order to use the Microcell, right? Any workarounds I may be overlooking or thoughts? Thanks! MacBook 13" aluminum (2.4GHz, 4GB RAM) Mac OS X (10.5.8) iphone 3GS

When Will Chains of ATT Be Broken iphone

Monday, June 7, 20103:09 PM -0700Until I can chose another carrier far better than ATT, I will stick with the iphone I have whose main features include: dropped calls everywhere, heavy static on the successful calls, What was that? Im sorry, Im on the cell again..., No Service signals in the areas where the ATT map shows heavy coverage with 3G and voice, voice dial which takes years to train, etc. Apple doesnt know the potential of this device. MDs in hospitals could have encrypted information sent to their iphone (iPads tad too big) such as x-ray studies sent to the screen of an iphone, touch and tap...ah theres the fracture line, metastatic tumor, infiltrate. Wed better see the whole film. Im going ad-lib here, but they must have some sort of divorce from ATT. They are not putting out for the iphone. My Verizon cell hits me anywhere.I dont like the Verizon cell. I much prefer the iphone. Ive put $6,400 into a double Yagi antenna and two afterburners to boost the signal from the ATT repeaters, but still, no good.I thought this would allow some panicky nurse to get a hold of me in a pinch. (Yes, Im one of the holdouts who wants to know things right away.) But I must use Verizon.Wake up guys and smell the competition. The Titanic wasnt supposed to sink. iphone 3G shows No Service almost everywhere except at home

For quite some time now Ive noticed that my iphone is almost never able to find the AT&T network and communicate through it unless Im in my own house. In locations where other people have identical iphone models that function perfectly, mine shows No Service with occasional bouts of Searching to no avail.Ive done all the basic fiddly things like reset the iphone or switch the 3G slider to off, and nothing results in an improvement. Id just assume the phone was damaged in some way except for the perfect and very strong connection in and around my home. Its only when I get about a mile from my house that it completely falls apart.Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.3 Kept in an InCase slider case but removal doesnt seem to boost signal

New User With Couple Questions iphone

Ive browsed the forum and there are just thousands of posts and Im getting a bit overwhelmed, so I thought Id start a thread in the hopes that 1-2 really good users (Allan, etc.) will help me out ...My questions are these:1.) Why doesnt the text messaging show me the time stamp for all the texts? And, related to that, what is the rhyme or reason to when it does insert the timestamp? It seems very random. I sometimes have a need for knowing exactly when a text was sent.2.) My iphone in phone mode is very quiet. My music plays loud on speakerphone, no problem, but my phone is very quiet on speakerphone. Granted, I cant hear a pin drop in a loud room, but still ... Its soft. Is there a way to adjust the master volume levels? The in-call sound on the handset is the same way, Ive hung up on my mother out of frustration not being able to hear her ... Same for the notification beeps. I had a BlackBerry previous to this, and the sounds on the BB were much louder and easier to identify. 3.) I think I know the answer to this, but, on my home WiFi network, it will continually ask me for the password. On one particular session the password is retained, but the next day it asks me for it again ... Does it not save WiFi passwords, or, is this a function of my router resetting something each day and forcing iphone to ask again ... Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me on these questions. Im loving the iphone overall, but if I could boost my in-call master volume and see my SMS times, Id love it even more.Matt iphone OS 3.1.2

Car Signal Booster iphone 3G

I work on a construction sites all around Indiana. Well most of these sites do not have very good signal... Or you walk to one spot and it goes up to 2 or 1 bar then the next is no signal... Everyday for lunch we sit in truck and txt/surf internet/make calls. Well is there any product out there that is worth a darn to boost the signal for the iphone.. even on edge or anything? Maybe some antenna we can mount on the truck and it will boost signal for at least the cab or a direct plug into phone? Most of these calls are important business calls so cost is not a huge factor... but less $ is always better ha iphone 3g Windows Vista

Dumb phones still work perfect. iphone 3G

Well let me start by telling you I am not a Apple hater, I just hate poor customer service for products that are really still in beta stages of development.1. The iphone is not a good business phone or travel phone its really another computer like you have at home with the Darwin operating system controlling it, this phone drops calls and sometimes just refuse to make the call at all either after reboot and all the other fun things AT&T will have you do to no avail.2. After trying to call a number that required mission critical services from my business I was unable to make a call into the T-mobile Network from the AT&T Network after trying multiple and multiple of times I decided get the operator involved with this call to only be told that they need a city and state with business name in order to make the call, well I am calling another cell phone which means I am **** out of luck. I was told I need to call from a land phone for them to connect me to this business client cell phone, well this just really defeats the purpose of me having a cell phone in the first place that should have no problems calling out of network but apparently it does.LESSON LEARNED -> Do not buy a Apple phone for business, only for a facebook toy or games and mail.If you do alot of travelling, internationl or local try T-mobile or Sprint they provide the best realiable and stable long distance connections. DO NOT TAKE AN AT&T PHONE OUT OF THE COUNTRY MAINLY iphone.I solved my problem that day with a $35 boost Mobile phone that allowed me to call anywhere with no problems, this sures say alot about Apple & AT&T Technology.IF THIS IS A SMART PHONE, I RATHER HAVE A DUMB ONE. iphone 16gig 3.0 OS iphone OS 3.0

Portable battery rechargers iphone 3G

While traveling in the U.S. I notice that my iphone 3G seems to need recharging more often. Back home, I would typically go 2 full days or more before feeling that, I better recharge. But here I find it getting to low levels after just 1 days use and Ive been recharging it every morning before going out.I think the reason is probably that at home I tend to use it mostly on wi-fi but here in Boston I tend to use it mostly on the 3G network. And now that Ive tried the iphone Kindle Reader I suspect it will be draining the battery even quicker. In either case, I hardly make any phone calls (I think Ive made 2 since activating it), but use the data services a lot.Anyway, back home my pre-iphone cell phone (and all the cell phones in Japan) have inexpensive (approximately $10) ordinary alkaline battery lightweight chargers you can connect to get an extra boost and simultaneously recharge your phone while on the go. Typically these are available at any convenience store.Do they have similar things here for the iphone 3G? Typically they would just be a little box-like thing you put 1-3 small batteries in to let the iphone recharge when you cant connect via the regular recharger.Anything recommendations for something like that for the iphone? Thanks, doug MBP C2D 17" Mac OS X (10.5) 3.0 GB RAM

Wi-Fi reception weaker since 3.0 upgrade iphone 3G

I used to get full wi-fi signal in my bedroom on my iphone 3G (my router is in my living room and we have a small flat). I usually have wireless power down to 25% on my Airport Express for security reasons but still used to get full signal in my bedroom both on iphone 3G and my 13 MacBook.Since upgrading to 3.0, my wi-fi reception on the iphone is much weaker. My laptop still shows 100%.Even when I boost the Airport Express to 100% power, its still well below 100% in the bedroom. Whats going on here? Can I use an external Sony microphone in iphone 3Gs 18 input

I need to record some informal rehearsals -- mono recording is fine. There are several apps to do this, among them Griffins iTalk and Zarboos SpeakEasy.Im hoping to boost the input levels, though, by recording through my old standby Sony microphone:http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11035340It uses a 1/8 miniplug. Will it work as a sound source for my iphone? Obviously I could just plug the thing in, but since its powered -- albeit by a single AA battery -- Im reluctant to try it without some expert guidance, lest I fry my iphone.Again, not looking to use this as for telephone calls, obviously, as its just a mike and not a headset/mike combo. Sorry-cant resist-entirely happy iphone 3G

Because these forums tend to have nothing but bad news (and are sometimes read by perspective buyers), I felt I had to leave an Im happy post.Purchased an iphone 3G roughly 3 months ago and Im nothing but happy with it. And this is despite the fact that AT&T does not yet offer 3G in my service area.Battery life has been poor (relatively to the other phone I was using), but not horrible. If I do some minimal adjustments to my setting/use (mainly turning off wi-fi except when I am near a known wireless network) and watch my usage slightly (i.e. check e-mail every few hours instead of every few minutes), I can go between 2 and 3 days before my battery gets low enough that it concern me.That said, if Im really using it (surfing, mapping, using GPS or whatever), youre talking more like a single work day and Im usually wanting to make sure to get in on the charger before I go to bed. I have yet to get to the point where Im worried about batteries running out before the end of the work day; well at least not so early that I am worried Ill run out if I make some simple adjustments regarding power usage.Anyway, wanted to let everyone know there is at least one user who is more than happy with his iphone 3G. Right now I figure in a couple of months (when we will supposedly get 3G coverage), Ill get a performance boost at no additional cost; albeit at a cost to my batteries. Since Im overall very happy with the phones performance, I figure the (presumably) faster 3G communications will be a bonus since my monthly cost wont change. (And, while I specifically asked when we were supposed to get 3G coverage, it did not impact my purchase decision. Okay, if they had said it would be years . . . .)If it makes any difference to anyone, I have delayed upgrading to version 2.whatever (which is probably causing some problems) and also my iTunes version. This may have prevented/eliminated problems that others are experiencing. I can say I havent experienced any of the problems that other users are complaining about (not that I think they arent). Everything has worked like a charm and the only problems I have encountered can be chalked up to operator error. (Thought I was having a no ring - right to voicemail problem until I realized I had inadvertently flipped the no ring/vibrate switch which caused me to miss a call from my brother when I was in the tub with the phone sitting nearby.)Ill leave you with that image and the fact that there is a least one user who is more than happy with his new iphone 3G.jch iMac Mac OS X (10.5.6) and other macs

In your iTunes library, you have the ability to customize an equalizer preset for your music to bring out the highs, mids, and lows of the music as you prefer. Headphone volume extremely low How to fix iphone 3G

I was using my 3G iphone (with the latest updates) at the gym the other day and I could barely hear the music. I was using them with the standard iphone headphones. I had the volume up all of the way but it was so low I couldnt hear it.I tried it with sound check on and with it off. Not much of a difference. I checked to see if the Volume Limit was on and its not.The thing is that I know when I used it at the gym months ago I didnt have a problem and didnt even have to turn it up all the way to hear it well. The phone volume and the speaker volume are exactly the same as they have always been, its just the volume out of the headphones. I have even tried other headphones (iphone and 3rd Party) but its the same levels. Is there anything that can be causing this? Is it possible that an application that I installed could be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this? Is it from the latest iphone update? Its really driving me crazy, and Im at the point where Im going to try to find a pair of headphones with active volume boost or something like that so I can use the iphone with headphones.Does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?Help!iphone 3G, Headphones, Volume low, low volume MacPro 2.66 / G4 867 Quicksilver / PM7100AV / IIsi Mac OS X (10.5.4) iphone 3G

2.1 update lost my 3g iphone

HiI know everyones had problems with their iphone Ive had a few issues myself, but as it’s a great piece of kit I can live with them untill fixes are found. However one thing I never had an issue with was my 3g connection, wherever I went it was there and strong. After I installed 2.1 my 3g no longer works. At work out and about and at home (I do have wireless but that’s besides the point and is working fine) Where the 3g symbol should be I keep getting a little circle, sometimes E (Edge appears) I have tried rebooting switching the 3g off & on. But I still have this issue. I can understand how an update can configure your system to boost signal strength but how come mines gone the other way. Now everything else works apart from the 3g Edge is sooo slow its unusable. Anyone else had this. Any Ideas?? PC Windows XP Ihpone 3g
