The smartphone smackdown is on, with Apple polishing its newest iphone just in time to take on the latest version of the blackberry.Apple is working on a software update for the iphone that would address problems causing the handset to drop some calls, according to The Wall Street Journal. Users of the iphone 3G, released July 11, have complained about disconnected calls. The Mac maker plans to make a software fix available in coming weeks, according to reports, which said the glitch may be caused by a chip made by Infineon Technologies.AT&T, the exclusive provider of iphone service in the U.S., declined to say whether the device drops more calls than other phones that work with its network.Meanwhile, Research In Motion's latest blackberry, called the Bold, is expected to be available on Sept. 15, according to analyst Peter Minske of Canaccord Adams. The phone is expected to sell for around $300 with calling plans. AT&T will be the exclusive U.S. carrier for the Bold. The device is currently selling in Germany and Chile and will debut in Canada next week. The first major new blackberry model in more than a year, the Bold is a high-end device that has twice the screen resolution of current models made by RIM. It matches the resolution, but not the screen size, of the iphone, which has emerged as a potent competitor in the category.New York Daily News
I know this is a support forum but most of these problems with bad 3g reception, lag, crashing apps, hardware defects, cracks, dust under the screen, etc..... are so foreign to me. I purchased my Handset at launch date and have yet to have any problems mentioned on this forum. People are threatening to take the device back, and how disappointed they are with apple and there products. Sounds like a nightmare but Im very happy with this product after switching from my blackberry curve 8320. I forgot to mention 3g works great here in Northern VA.
Im sick of this! I feel like screaming!I had a friend over from Canada this week and I decided to take him on a tour of the city of London. We walked from Westminster bridge all the way around the city and ended up at London bridge. In all it was about 8-10 miles of walking that took all day (we had a few pub stops of course). The O2 reception on my iphone was NON-Existent. It constantly went from half a bar to full and back again. The 3G & Edge would jump in and out like I was going in and out of a tunnel. It was a sunny day and I was in the heart of one of the biggest cities in the world and the iphone was more of a hinderance than a help. Google maps was even worse. It continually crashed and I had to soft reset the phone a total of 7 times throughout the day. When the GPS did work it lagged so badly it was useless having it on. At one point I managed to walk a quarter of a mile (2 streets) before it caught up. Thank god I knew where I was going. To add to this the battery died by 7pm. Thanks APPLE!Ive been experiencing these same problems since getting the handset on the day of the release...and so has my girlfriend who is currently using her O2 sim back inside her Motorola V3.Ive been a supporter of QUALITY Apple products since being a kid. These past few years have seen a speedy decline in QUALITY and a speed incline in QUANTITY! Apple are banging out products quicker than people can buy them and hoping the UPDATING process will help them ride the storm of difficulties for the following 6-12 months. This IS NOT RIGHT. Apple should have their products tested for longer periods of time instead of letting the public do it for them. I got shafted with the mobileme fiasco and now my £100 upgrade to the iphone 3G (after paying £250 for the original last year) makes me feel like trying to throw this handset back to Cupertino....or should I say Crapertino! They call the iphone a PHONE because thats its PRIMARY use. When that doesnt work I wonder why didnt I just keep my old blackberry. At least I could make calls anywhere in the country. NO PHONE, NO iphone. What does the I stand for .....Inept?Inept:AdjectiveHis mother could pitch a wicked fastball, but the iphone was completely ineptincompetent, unskillful, unskilled, inexpert, amateurish; clumsy, awkward, maladroit, bungling, blundering; unproductive, unsuccessful, ineffectual, not up to scratch; informal ham-handed, ham-fisted, butterfingered, klutzy, all thumbs. antonym competentYes, it does have some amazing features but it doesnt function as it should ...and not by a small margin. I got off a plane yesterday and we were stuck on the tarmac for 40 mins. During this time they allowed us to make calls on our mobiles. A little 10 year old girl had a beaten up pink brick of a phone from 1765 and she had a FULL service with O2. I turned on my iphone 3G and had NOTHING! At HEATHROW!!!!!!! The guy behind me saw I had an iphone 3G....he had the old version, also with FULL SERVICE and asked to have a quick look . For the first time ever I told somebody NOT to purchase an Apple product. In fact I urged him not to upgrade. In hindsight I wish Id offered the kid a swap......but I dont believe in being nasty to children!(TO APPLE)- I want my money back and my contract cancelled please.....I wonder if Ill hear back, I doubt it. Everything Apple Has Ever Made Mac OS X (10.5.4) I ran my old PC over with a lawnmower....several times.
I baby my phone and aside from the 2 mm crack/scratch/line across the top by the standby button this color absorption thing is bad!I use to use a white blackberry pearl and I would use the heck out of it and leave it everywhere and there is no stain in sight.WIth the 16gb iphone, i have dark blue stains (from my jeans perhaps?) already! Its like color transfer as if the casing was like patent leather! 3g
Thought it would be a cool idea to upgrade my 3G iphone to 2.0.1. Well. It is not! Upgrade process went smoothly. But now the beast freezes regularly. Regularly is nearly EVERY sync Im asking for. The flashing text next to the arrow stops white-scrolling, then a couple of minutes after that the iphone reboots. It also tries to install applications Ive removed both from the Library and sync options. All downloaded and/or bought from AppStore - Ive tried no pawning stuff...I have gone through the painful and lengthy process of restoring and syncing - still misses my music, ringtones, etc. after a sync to restore the device, I need to manually re-ask for sync. Usually crashes quite fast, stopping the sync process.Next step, if all still fails, will be a blank start of the device. Im not that happy entering all email accounts details.BTW, how does it come that this upgrade still doesnt show a different icon indicating a 3G or HSDPA connection? Even a low-cost phone shows that.I really - and I mean it - miss the Nokia PC Suite and blackberry Connect software, there are stable. I cant say this of iTunes. I just hate this software that makes me lose time. Shoot shoot. Is there a way to fall back to 2.0.0? Or should I wait for 2.0.2 to solve my problems (and add many more)? PC Windows XP Pro no
I live in the UK and have been waiting for the iphone 3g since the first iphone was released. I waited well over a year, hoping that Apple would get the ‘Basics’ right… Unfortunately, I am sorry to say they have not. This is not a comment to ‘Bash’ the iphone, it is merely my experience and I offer it as some way of guidance for anyone who is thinking of buying one. I write this coming from a Mac background. I have used Macintosh since the very start and always supported their products regardless of what other platform users have said or thought. That is why I am really disappointed with Apple’s 2nd attempt at the iphone. Remember, this has always been sold as and promoted as a phone and it just does not do that job very well. The BAD;You cannot set user profiles and timed profiles like most phones have been able to do since the mid 90’s. At night I like to set my phone to a pleasant low ring which returns to my normal ringtone at 6am.Battery life is very poor considering my type of usage… Occasional emails, minimal web browsing, 4-5 sms messages mainly phone calls. I have location services off, screen brightness very low, I always remember to put the phone into stand-by and barely get a day’s use. I have been to the Genius Bar but they could not improve the performance.Random freezes which require a full restart, these are very annoying and becoming more common. The ring volume is not loud enough in today’s noisy city environments. The hands free speaker is not loud enough to conduct a conversation, unless you are in a room on your own.Email should mirror the SMS notification system and display a message on the blank stand-by screen when new mail arrives just like when a new SMS is received. At the moment I have to keep waking the phone, unlocking the device, and checking the email icon on the dock. This is very annoying when you are in a meeting, for me and other people around me. I know you are all going to say it vibrates but even that is not very strong and can easily be missed. Even when the phone is not in Silent mode the ‘New Mail’ is not obvious enough, why can’t I choose the sound that suits me?Also, if you have more than One email account you cannot view them all as ‘One’ inbox as you can within Mail on OS X. You have to keep going into each inbox and then returning to the main email menu and doing it all over again. A real pain in the backside if you have Six email accounts you have to check! There is no way to attach attachments in Mail? You can only send photos from Photos and then you can only do it One at a time! Come on, how time consuming is that when you have a lot of pictures to share.I cannot find a way to set the time before diverting calls to answerphone. At the moment it only rings for about 20 seconds and then diverts. I live in a 3 storey house, by the time I have run downstairs I have missed the call! (don’t tell me I should have the phone on me)The ability to hang on to a signal is a basic premises of any phone and my iphone fails terribly. On a test this morning heading into London on the train I pitted the iphone against a colleagues blackberry. The blackberry won hands down. For almost all of the journey the iphone could not connect to the network and Safari kept telling me there was no signal… The blackberry was on the same O2 network as my iphone and did not miss a single opportunity to access email or the web.Have you tried to customize the home screen? If you hold down the screen for more than 2 secs all the icons start to wobble and you can drag them to your desired position which is cool… Except you can’t, because every time you move one all the others all reposition themselves in what I can only describe as ‘Random’ I am sure there is a knack to this but I cannot figure it out.You cannot change the bottom Four keys. Why should Apple decide what I want there. How hard could it be to allow users the choice. The camera is rubbish… My old Nokia has a better quality camera and it’s Two years old. There is more but I don’t want to sound negative and I am tired. The GOOD;SMS is great - I love the threaded conversations.Movies look great but really zap the power.iPod is nicely laid out but mine always seems to start up at maximum volume which does annoy me… a lot.iPlayer works well, when you can get a strong 3g signal or on Wi-Fi.Set-up is really easy and great if you are a technophobe.CONCLUSION;If you want a device that does it all in one, then I guess the iphone is for you but you must be prepared for the shortcomings I have listed above. Don’t get me wrong, it is a marvel of modern technology, but so was the the first Motorola’s which came with their own built in car battery! It was great at the time but we have all moved on so why has the iphone in today’s modern and demanding World not addressed all the basic’s? I think that Apple will address some of these issues through Firmware Updates, but most should have been corrected with the launch of the iphone 3g. I loved the UI and the feel of the phone and I really wanted it to work for me but is just falls way to short. Having said that I will be buying an iPod Touch so that I can have the vast majority of what I loved about the iphone without the stuff I hated. In my opinion, buy the iPod Touch and get a blackberry or other device to check your email and hunker down for the iphone War which is about to kick off. Google are very close to launching ‘Android’ and all the major phone companies are preparing to square up to Apple with their devices. Remember, the mobile phone market is enormous and the ‘Big Boy’s’ are not going to role over and play dead for Apple. If you do buy the iphone and you are happy… Great! If like me you are not stick with you old phone and sit back… There is always something round the corner! iMac G5 / iBook G4 / iMac G4 / MacBook Pro 2.4 Penryn Mac OS X (10.5.2) Commodore 64... Thought this was amusing (although not necessarily in a good way).Went into the AT&T store yesterday to pick up a case. This is the same AT&T store I bought a replacement iphone 3G from (I ended up toss my first 3G in the washing machine by accident). :/ Previously owned a 1st generation. In any case, I overhear the salesperson talking to a customer about phones. The customer asks whats the difference between a blackberry and the iphone. The iphone is a toy phone, the AT&T rep says. Dont get me wrong. Its fun. But its not for real work. Now, Ive had Blackberries for years (I work for a major financial). They certainly have their advantages. However, I wouldnt say my iphone is a toy. On more than one occasion Ive used it to VNC into servers, browse our corporate website, etc which -- while doable on a blackberry, is a lot easier on the iphone.I wanted to say something to the guy, but Im not one of those people that likes to vehementally defend Apple products. Im sure he was simply saying what he was saying to sell a phone that day (because they of course had no iPhones in stock).Still, I cant help but feel that this particular AT&T rep was a less than stellar partner for Apple. Its like if I went into a Toyota dealership and the salesguy said Yeah, the Prius is nice. However, if you want a car that can do REAL work, youll want a Tacoma. (Never mind the fact that the Tacoma uses up twice as much gas -- they dont have Priuses in stock anyway).
My phone was connected to my computer and my PC rebooted. I wasnt in the room when this happened but when I came back in itunes was uninstalling all of my apps. When it finished it then reinstalled all my apps. What this meant was the $10 program I bought to store all of my password no longer had any of my passwords. The program I bought to store my work todo list no longer had my items. The program I bought for grocery shopping lists, then spend an hour customizing, no longer had any of my stuff.I hit the restore button but guess what, even thought itunes backs my phone up every single time I connect it, there was only 1 backup to restore from and it was CORUPTED!!!!Why in the world would a program be able to destory everything I have without even asking me??? It makes no sense.Even if the restore wasnt corupted, would it have had all of my data? For example, my passwords stored in the splashid app or my todo lists? Is there anyway I can confirm a backup isnt corupted so I can force another one if it is? Looking at the sync screen in itunes settings menu doesnt look like there is any thing wrong with the backup. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening in the future or should I just take it back now and get a blackberry? iphone 3g 16gb Black
With my blackberry I can connect to my mac via bluetooth and use it as a modem... if I upgrade to iphone 3g will I still be able to do that and use the phone as a modem for my macbook pro? Macbook Pro 2.4 gig with 4gb ram Mac OS X (10.5.2)
Hello everyone,I am planning on upgrading to the iphone 3G, and I currently have the originial iphone. I am planning on selling my original iphone to a friend before the launch. I am planning on taking the SIM card out and using my old blackberry until its released.will this work? Does AT&T have to see and do something with my old iphone at the time of the new activation, or am I safe to sell it before the release and just keep my SIM card? I hope this is not off-topic in an iphone forum:Could you please tell me if a blackberry 8100 is in any way compatible with the MobileMe services? It is M$ Exchange-savvy (I dont have an M$ E account), so could it be set up to work with MobileMe, at least partly?Thank you very much!Peter iMac G5/2/2000/250 Mac OS X (10.5.4)
The company I work for currently supplies Blackberries to us and push e-mail through the blackberry Exchange Server. The Blackberries are on T-Mobile.If I purchase my own iphone, will it be a problem to have our IT person arrange for push e-mail via ActiveSync even if others are getting their e-mail through the blackberry Exchange server? Is it a problem that I would be on AT&T, while others would be on T-Mobile?Im facing a skeptical IT guy. So how hard will it be/how much set up will be involved in getting some iPhones up and running while maintaining support for Blackberries on T-Mobile?
Ive waited in 3 lines...... still no phone.. before the release they said there would be daily shipments so I didnt get the direct fulfillment which they said would take 7 to 10 business days... now 21 to 30.... now they say they never said that they would get daily shipments...... this is terrible... Im now thinking about staying with sprint and getting an Instinct or a blackberry... maybe going to Verizon and LG Dare. anyone else fed up?
I think I understand the MS Exchange support and am looking forward to it. I also understand the mobileme functions and am looking forward to a better version of my .mac account. BUT....... Can I use both push services on my new iphone 3G when I buy it? Mobile me seems to only talk to mail, address book, and ical. But my office uses MS Exchange and Entourage for mail, calendar, and address functions.Im a current blackberry user and have 5 email accounts and 7 address books on my blackberry - only 1 of each is driven by me corporate exchange server. Id like to keep the existing work functionality and then add the cool mobileme functionality for my personal use. Is this going to be possible? Or do I have to dump Entourage and change everything back to mac native software?Thoughts? Thanks, Aaron imac Mac OS X (10.5)
Pretty specific question here: I have a blackberry through AT&T that is eligible for an upgrade. But I have a $500 Apple gift card and want to use it to buy the iphone 3G. Obviously I cant use the card at AT&T. So I probably need to go to Apple to buy the phone. But, I also have 17,000 rollover minutes that I dont want to lose at AT&T (and believe me they are happy/prone to lose track of those rollovers - they made a mistake - two separate times - during a simple plan change last year and lost the minutes, twice, which I had to hassle them about to retrieve both times). So I want to make sure the rollovers arent misplaced when I upgrade - which means I probably need to upgrade at AT&T.Does anyone know how upgrades from another phone are being handled at the Apple stores? Do they have account details for AT&T? Or can I buy the phone at Apple (using my Apple gift card) and then have it activated at an AT&T store? Thanks for any insight! Ive got a blackberry Pearl that Im almost one year into (of a two-year contract). Will I be able to get a new iphone 3G without having an older iphone? I really want one, but I dont know if Ill be able to get a new contract when Im just under halfway through my current one. Please help! hp Windows XP
I guess the main question is, how secure is MobileMe? If using an iphone as a main business phone, with contacts that are MEDICAL PATIENTS - the MobileMe software must compile with HIPPA guidelines, basically stating that the patient data is SECURE. Obviously if this is not the case, than an iphone with MobileMe cant be used, and for the majority of people that want the blackberry feel MobileMe is a must.Any thoughts? Dell Windows Vista
Hutchinson / Three will launch the iphone in Hong Kong with a variety of combined data and voice plans. The cheapest is with 1000 mins talk and 500MB data for US$24 and the 8Gb for $376, with the most expensive being $63 for unlimited data and 3700 voice minutes and a free 8GB model or $15 for the 16GB. 2 year contract though...Not bad at all and very comparable to the costs of buying another smartphone with data plans in Hong Kong.Downside? Voice only plans are really cheap here.... $5 for 1200 minutes...And you can get 1800 minutes talk time for about US$10 / month in HK with 600MB data on another 3G provider, so comparatively this is seemingly expensive to many people here. iMac 2.0 * Mini G4 * iBook * iPod Touch * blackberry 8120 * Mac OS X (10.5.2)
My question is this: My sister currently owns a blackberry Curve and plans on purchasing the iphone 3g on July 11th. I have spoken to 2 different ATT reps and both told me that her account shows that she will not be eligible for an upgrade until November 08. Therefore, she cannot purchase the iphone until Nov. 08 because ATT and Apple both have not yet announced their pricing for the iphone at the unsubsidized price. And one rep at the ATT store said he doesnt think they will offer the phone at regular, full, unsubsidized price.Does this mean that she will have to wait until Nov. 08 when shes eligible for the upgrade? Well, I am here because I was all set to sign up with Verizon for two more years because I am eligible for a new phone. I can get a Samsung Gleam for $149.99 or a blackberry Pearl 8130 for $169.99. Im all set to compare them for sound quality as soon as the Samsung Gleam arrives in the local store.Thing is, now the new iphone 3G is coming out soon and I could get it for maybe 30 bucks less than the blackberry Pearl, or maybe the same, as Id of course have to switch services and be signing up as a new user.Bottom lines are:COVERAGE IN MY AREA--How can I learn if an iphone would work in my area, and how well? I have taken my Verizon phone all over the place and never had a problem with coverage and little or no problem with sound quality.SOUND QUALITY--I want it good on calls and particularly on the MP3 player, which is the main reason I am buying a new phone!MP3 PLAYER--I need one where I can pause, rewind, or at the VERY LEAST, find my place again on whatever I was listening to. Does the iphone use the same sort of micro SD memory card as the other phones? The ones I am looking at take only up to 4GB cards. Can the iphone do 8 or more? How can I compare player quality on the various phones I am considering?PLAN COST--What will the basic monthly plan for the new iphone cost? Obviously, if its an arm and a leg for a zillion features and services Ill probably never use when all I need is a phone, MP3 player, and GPS, Id stick with Verizon which has provided good service. Can anyone shed light on these bottom line issues or direct me to a site with good side-by-side comparison reviews? Ill be deeply appreciative, thanks. Power Mac G4 Mac OS X (10.4.4) Hard Drive 57.26 GB, Internal Slave Drive 232.86 GB
I love the idea of MobileMe because I work in a small company without an MS Exchange server. However, will it support e-mail addresses other than @me.com? The idea of not being able to use it with my current e-mail addresses makes me shudder. I am a current blackberry user who will be switching to the iphone as soon as possible. I am planning on getting the enterprise plan for $45/month instead of the personal plan for $30. With the enterprise plan on Blackberries they could control what you could and could not put on your phone (aftermarket programs). Now that the iphone will have an apps store and we can get aftermarket programs will the $45 plan allow companies to prevent employees from downlaoding and installing programs from the apps store? This phone will be 85% personal but I would love to keep up with work emails after hours to save me some time when I get there the next day. Thats why I want the enterprise plan but not if they can prevent you from installing programs...Any one know about the enterprise plan? Thanks Dell Windows Vista

I plan on getting the 3G iphone when it launches. However, to save myself the headache of manually inputting a gazillion names, addresses, and calender dates, does anyone know how to sync a blackberry to a Macbook Air? The help would be much appreciated. Ive tried bluetooth but Im not sure how to keep the connection constant or send the files over. And USB cable doesnt seem to do anything at all. The launch of the iphone 3G in Canada should also see Rogers introduce new rates that may reflect a greater dependence on mobile data but will also encourage higher rates per user, according to statements made by Rogers Wireless president Nadir Mohamed at the Canadian Telecom Summit. The senior official notes that new plans are coming within the next two weeks that will accommodate more frequent data use by a wider number of devices, which most understand will include the Apple device and the blackberry Bold. While declining to provide details, Mohamed explains that the plans will be "easy to understand" as well as more adap and encouraging for users who want mobile data."There's a recognition on the part of Rogers that the world has changed," he says. However, the executive adds that he expects the average revenue per use to go up with the launch of the iphone 3G. A typical Rogers customer pays approximately $63 per month for a combination of voice, messaging, and data features, but an average iphone subscriber should boost that figure to approximately $90 per month, Mohamed says. Most of the increase should come from increased data use.The average doesn't necessarily imply a $90 monthly combined rate for the iphone's voice and data in the country and may depend heavily on customers with higher-tiered plans as well as any additional services that may be usable with the phone, including SMS message packages.Whether this update corroborates previous reports of the phone qualifying for Rogers' $7 browsing plan supplied to Electronista is unknown. The company has begun offering unlimted browse-only packages on most of its regular devices but has controversially begun extending this to include smartphones such as the N95 8GB, which critics have said artifically limits the usefulness of the device without a true unlimited plan.Observers expect, however, that the high profile of the iphone and its unusual software will pressure Rogers to start offering blanket data packages that cover all applications and either supply unlimited data or else a relatively large amount of bandwidth use per month. The company has been criticized in recent months for charging well above what AT&T does in the US for similar phone service.visa macnn/electronista
I added myself onto my Moms AT&T account today and bought a blackberry. The woman at the at&t store is going to hold onto an iphone 3G for me when it releases so I can exchange the phones. My question is, are the SIM cards the same? I just spent the better half of an hour putting numbers in and would hate to do it again. (btw, these blackberrys are actually really cool. Hi guys and girls,Im looking at buying either one of the above mentioned phones. Since Ive never owned either one of them, Id like to get some serious input as to which one is the better phone for the following purposes:1. Corporate & Private e-mail2. I was studying AT&Ts new contract with Apple and their iphone, and then it hit me. For those of you that dont have or plan on signing and keeping contracts with AT&T for the new iphone 3G, you could try this alternative solution. No, its not a iphone look-a-like. Or a blackberry. Just buy the iphone on July 11 and sign the contract. But you can terminate contracts for a fee right? So terminate the contract immediately, I dont know if they will charge for the first month or not, and ask them to unlock it. I think they probably will, since not everyone signed on with AT&T for the first iphone anyway. But, thats what Im going to do, although once I attempt this I will post back results. Any other thoughts, because I want the iphone 3G but I dont want to terminate my current contract with T-Mobile. MacBook Mac OS X (10.5.3) 2.2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB Memory, SuperDrive
My nextel contract ends tomorrow (hallelujah!) and I am debating on whether or not to get a blackberry or iphone. Im def. leaning towards the iphone with 3G but we still have almost a month left. Is there a pre-order option available and I just get a cheap phone to hold me over in the mean time? It seems too expensive to get a go phone just for a month and Im going to need a phone. What should I do? MacBook Air Mac OS X (10.5.2)
The iphone 3G is twice as fast as the first-gen iphone, yet only half the price. You're probably wondering if you'll be able to tether the iphone 3G (tethering: using it as a cellular modem for laptops - a service AT&T and other carriers offer for many phones on the market) to your laptop. The short answer is no. The long answer is no. Is it AT&T's fault or Apple's? According to AT&T, the ball is in Apple's court.Jobs would have showed off the feature during the keynote at WWDC 2008, but he didn't. That doesn't mean it's not possible. So should Apple flip the switch to enable tethering on the iphone 3G, it's possible AT&T will find a way to charge extra for the option whether you plan on using it or not. It's a little too early to worry about that right now. However according to AT&T spokesman, Mark A. Siegel, who spoke with iphone Atlas earlier this week, AT&T will not be supporting a PAM plan for the iphone 3G. The only available data plan for the iphone will be the new $30 consumer unlimited data and visual voice mail plan and the $45 business data plan. The latter is charged when a person makes an enterprise type connection to Exchange or a blackberry server for email or messaging.
iphone isn't a compulsory purchase. There are many other choices for people who find it deeply disappointing. As long as Apple still make iphone, they will sell it on their terms. AT&T gave iphone customers a lower cost data bundle than blackberry users for a year. Now that they are paying Apple $200 per brand new phone, illegal unlocking will cost them, and Apple, real money. They have the right to protect their investments the same way we protect ours. Stop whining!

I THINK THE NEW iphone 3G, SHOULD HAVE A 3.2 MP O BETTER CAMERA WITH VIDEO RECORDING FEATURES BUILT-IN THE SOFTWARE.The competition is already there, like Nokia N95, Nokia N96, HTC Touch diamond, the blackberry Thunder Touch, Samsung and LG too, all with phones with up to 5.2 MP.For this next iphone 3G everybody want a better camera with video recording capabilities APPLE INC PLEASE LISTEN UP. Hey all,I am very excited about doing the switch from VZW and my blackberry pearl to the 3G iphone. I always said when they second gen came out i would run for the switch. Anyways, i was wondering, in past experience, where would be the best bet on trying to get my hands on the (white ) iphone?? I have an apple store 20 mins away and a plethora of ATT stores. I remember the horrors of lines last year when it first launched, and with the price being drastically lower, im afraid there might be more demand than supply. Any thoughts on this??Also, does ATT offer TEC insurance on the iphone?? Or does apple use applecare? macbook 2.16 GHz Core2Duo*120gb*white :) Mac OS X (10.5.2) 16gb IPod Touch
I hear the new iphone 3G has less steps to send mail & therefore it will receive mail faster than a blackberry, is this true? Mac OS X (10.5.1)
Look at the market Apple is trying to tap into. They want the iphone to be considered a smart phone (and by many, it is considered just that). With the increase in price on the monthly statement, youre paying the same as those other smart phones (i.e. blackberry). But if you actually go and compare phone-to-phone pricing, the iphone 3G is a bit cheaper than some of the blackberrys and with iphone 3G youre having overwhelming support for apps that blackberry doesnt see. How many blackberry WWDC do you see? None. Stop complaining about prices and take a broader look. If you think $80 is too much just dont get it. MacBook Air Mac OS X (10.5.2)
I am so excited about the new iphone I am seriously considering jumping from my trusty blackberry. But I have one big question and it may be too early to ask this...I freelance for a company and I access the company email through OWA. I currently have the OWA settings in my blackberry through BIS and it works great. But this is not enterprise email exactly. Im sure someone out there knows what Im talking about...or I hope so because I feel like Im not explaining properly. Anyway, do you think the new iphone push email will allow OWA connections? Hello there,As a long time Lotus Notes administrator that supports hundreds of blackberry devices, I now see a good portion of our users wanting full Lotus Notes support on their iPhones. As an owner and rabid fan of the iphone, I wholeheartedly agree. I have complained to IBM about this on numerous occasions, and IBMs response is that we have to let Apple know that we want this.Well, Apple, we want this. Please. Please dont let this degrade into a Notes ***** debate. Lets just realize that there are over 140 Million Lotus Notes users worldwide, and a lot of your major enterprises run Lotus Notes. With native support for both Notes and Exchange, youve covered probably 90% of the enterprise market. And the more iPhones in use the better.Thanks,Greyhawk68http://www.greyhawk68.com iMac 24inch and MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.3)
Hi, I am a former blackberry user.If I set iphone to retrieve messages from my POP email address, do I have the option of leaving those messages on the server so that I can download them later to my Outlook 2007 via the send and receive option?Does iphone delete the emails that it receives from the POP email account? I assume that iphone just copies the emails, like blackberry.I just want to make sure that it is like blackberry, where I can access my emails from iphone and still have my emails download to Outlook.Thank you!Message was edited by: LukeD MB PRO 3.1, 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, 160 GB HDD/MB AIR, 80GB/MB 2.2GHz, 120GB/ACD 23" Mac OS X (10.5.2) Boot Camp, with Windows XP Professional SP2 partition/iPOD/AirPort Extreme/TC
