Camera app doesn t work iphone 3G

I got my first iphone as a gift the other day (32GB iphone 5 from Verizon). However, the camera app on it does not work. When I launch it, either the closed shutter is displayed, or the screen is completely black and none of the "buttons" (i. e. Options and switching between front and rear cameras) work. I have tried completely closing out of the app and doing a restore of my iphone through iTunes, but it still does not work. I have a case, but the lens is completely visible. Any help would be appreciated!

Last night the screen of my phone 4 slowly went black. I tried charging it while hard resetting it but that did not help. also tried just resetting it but nothing with that either. I tried to chat with Itunes but couldn't becasue I cannot get the serial number. I do not have an sd tray nor can I use the screen. It is not printed on the back of the device not is it connecting to Itunes so I can get it from there.

iphone 5 won't wake up from sleepstandby

Hello, I am having a really strange problem with my iphone 5 for last 3-4 months. Sometime when i want to use my iphone from standby/sleep mode it dosent do anything! sleep/wake button, home button even silent/sound button dosent work. I know the silent/sound button dosen't work cause normally it vibrate when I turn it on. So the problem is my phone wont wake up from sleep/standby mode. The screen stays black and nothing works. If i press the home button and power button for 10-15 time very quickly, then it takes a screen shot and wakes up!! Sometime it stays in this stage for 5-10min. So here is what i did to solve the problem.1. I restore the phone from phone and ituens.2. I delete all icloud backup and started as a new phone3. I went to apple store and replace the phone with a new one!!4. I jailbreak it at last to see if it solve the problem!5. turn off the icloud to see if it works And sadly nothing of all this solved my problem! Now im not sure any specific app causing the problem but it almost impossible to find it out. So if anyone have any similar problem or any suggestion to solve it, then it will be really helpful.

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iphone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iphone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iphone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iphone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

iphone 5 Rear Microphone

Hello, There appears to be an issue with my iphone 5's rear camera microphone. When recording video it causes white noise and I can barely hear any audio at all. To diagnose the fault I phoned myself and put music on. I could hear the music fine without loudspeaker, I then switched on loudspeaker while the screen was facing upwards (to test the front facing mic) and it was fine, once I turned the phone upside down, the audio cut out. To ensure that my desk wasn't just blocking my front facing mic, I switched loudspeaker off and then turned it back to face up, then again to face down and then switched loudspeaker back on. Unfortunately it confirmed that was the fault. I have recorded voice memos and front facing videos with no issue, but when using the rear camera I still have the same fault. I have cleaned out the small opening for the mic and haven't caused my phone any damage, so I can't understand why this would happen? Has anyone else had this issue? Will I have to have my entire phone replaced, the whole rear camera or just the microphone? Are there any fixes I can perform myself? Thanks,Ross

I had a story about not charging iphone. PHcharge my iPhoneI insterday evening (Philippine Time). But it charged less than 1 second. It running out. I plug it anywhere but it not worked. I had to check the battery bar, i found that my iphone is depleted fast. I checked the LCI but it white. I tried anything:A. Charged for at least 15 minutesB. Turn on and off the iphone.C. Restart the iphone.D. Plug it to the computer. But it failed. I will need to seek repair on repair shops? I don't attempt to repair this iphone. I'm scared about this iphone is not charging. I just bought my iphone 5 one month ago then i realise my camera was not functioning, It always stuck in black screen when i try open the camera apps. I found out there are actually many people who bought iphone 5 suffered this problem when i try to look for resolution online. I want to go for warranty but my phone got dent on it's appearance. Therefore, apple told me that my phone was unable to warranty. However, my purpose to warranty is to fix the camera instead of the dent on my phone. Can apple fix my camera problem? I really feel sad and regret for purchase the phone now because of the problem i am facing now.  Hopefully apple can give me a satisfied answer. I bought an iphone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iphone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced.  I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks

I dropped my phone with an otterbox defender case on the phone on its back, directly following the fall (maybe 3ft) the screen remains black, however, the phone is still on because I get text messages and emails. I believe that the digitizer may have been dislodged from the logic board. Should I investigate the phone myself or take it in, mind you the nearest apple store (grrr) is almost 60 miles away.

I just picked up a used iphone 5 and I noticed that it has an odd model number that I cant seem to find anywhere. I know it's a GSM black 32gb A1428, but it tells me it's number is MD640LL/A. It's not really a big deal, but I can't find that number listed anywhere. Anyone know what this particular model is?

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

Hello apple support community.My i phone 5 that I recently bought last Sunday (May 5th) has some major issues. The battery life is TERRIBLE!! I have tried to lower brightness, turn off lte, turn off vibration, etc... But nothing is working!!! I exchanged the iphone for another black 32 gig, but event this one is pretty bad. I got 5hrs 20mins of usage, and 7hrs 16mins on standby. This is my second charge on this new phone. I drained it down to 0% when I first got it and then an overnight charge for 8hrs all the way up to 100%. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! All answers would be greatly appreciated!- Biggie_LP

iphone 5 camera issues

I'm having issues with the camera on my iphone 5 where it locks up when I try to open the camera app or the screen goes crazy with multi-coloured white noise or a portion of the screen is covered in a purple band usually vertically.Has anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it.Apple support have said to restore the phone or wait for iOS updates. I've done both and got a new phone and had the same issues. Any help would be great fully received.

My phone has been shutting off unexpectedly. I did the factory reset and yet the problem continues. Now the phone just refuses to start up. Only for a few seconds I see the Apple logo and it quickly fades away and screen is back to black. Any help is appreciated.

black screen iphone 4

I have an iphone 4. This morning I Fell and dropped it and the back cracked. Just about 45 minutes ago, my phone was knocked out of my hand and it fell on the floor. I picked it up and it would vibrate when i would get texts but the screen was black. I had heard somewhere that holding down the home and lock button down would fix the phone if it was frozen. it didn't seem to work. But when I got home I plugged my phone into the computer just to see what would happen. i thought i saw something faint light up on the screen. it looked like a usb cord. so i took the phone into a dark room but i let a little light hit it too. At just the right angle i could see the usb cord with an arrow pointing to an iTunes sign. so I connected it to iTunes on my computer. In just the right angle, I could see that i could unlock my phone. My phone screen was really dark so i tried turning up the brightness but it didnt work. So if just the right light hits the phone i can somewhat see the screen.Out of that light it just looks like the screen is black.  I'm thinking that the screen light went out when my phone was kncked out of my hand. any help or advice?

my sound isnt working iphone 4S

My silent switch is not on, ive tried turning it on and off, ive tried hitting the volume buttons on the side and it brings up the ringer volume icon but it doesnt have those white squares under it anymore. none of my apps will play the sound they are supposed to and when my phone rings the sound only comes on sometimes. i didnt drop it or anything either. i went to bed and woke up and it wasnt working. how do i fix it?

Poor battery life iphone 5

My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do?  Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Home and Power Buttons Not Waking iphone 5

Hello  I have an iphone 5 that I purchased upon release in New Zealand around December.  Recentlly, more and more often, I will go to check messages or notifications on my phone by pressing the home or power button to wake it and display the lock screen (a simple enough task, one would imagine). However the screen will not show. They phone simply stays black. Sometimes I can press either button again and it wil wake, other times I will need to wait anywhere up to 10 minutes.  I have tried factory restoring my phone to no avail. It is on the latest release of iOS and has had no water damage or major shock damage.  Thanks for any help you can provide,Caleb

Hi my iphone won't sync with iTunes over wifi. When I plug if in with the USB cable it shows up then disappears in iTunes. It also sometimes won't charge. I have to keep plugging it and unplugging it until it charges. I thought it was the cable but that doesn't explain not syncing over wifi. iphone 5 keeps restarting its self

It only seem to restart when im using it. Sometimes it wont even come back on when i try and turn it on. Ill put it on the charger when thst happens and the appl logo will pop up then go away and become a black screen again.Also my battery will say 100% it will restart then be at 1%. or if it doesnt reset it will say 100% or what ever i take it off the charger at it will be at that % all day until it dies no warnings or anything. Hi I purchased iphone5 in December. It was working fine till now (only if we ignore the heating of the device while charging). But then 2 days back i suddenly noticed flickering of the display on my phone's screen . I searched it on the internet and found that there are many people who have been facing this problem and with their discussions it was concluded that it is a software problem. I got a sigh of relief and dint bother about it. But after half an hour i noticed that my dispaly is gone There was a black screen though the functions work fine as i was able to hear the sound of clicks and reciever calls through earphones. I dont know what has happened to my phone suddenly. I tried hard rebooting also but it dint work. Still looking for a solution I am sitting with a phone with no display and cz its nano sim, it is restricting me from using it in any other phone.I dint expect such a problem in Apple atleast :
