I bought iphone 3G in Jully in Italy. The only problem is that i bought it when i was on vacations and i bought it in the very south of Italy so its very far to go for a ride to take iphone there and probably they wouldnt replace it immediately. iphone 3G will not send text getting error sending message

I recently upgraded my iphone 3G to 2.2 and about a week later I was getting a error sending message when sending text messages. I can receive text just fine. I have tried restoring using ITunes and even had the ATT store tech swap the SIM card with no results. HELP!!!!!!! I am very upset with ATT and Appple. Restoring as new device it download new software iphone

Ive been having various problems even after restoring from backup multiple times. At the Apple store, I was told to restore and select setup new device instead of restoring from backup, incase my backup was corrupted. The rep told me that iTunes would download fresh copies of the operating software, firmware and all apps. Is this true? At no point during the process did iTunes appear to be downloading anything. WOW I hate app store software updates iphone 3G

Does anyone elses phone take forever to update an application? Has anyone else updated an app only have it send your phone into a reset? I just updated Texas Holdem on my phone. After 10 minutes of waiting for the thing to update, I re-synced my phone so it would copy onto my iMac and WOW, a half hour later and the meter hasnt budged. Not to mention that I had to make more the 245mb of memory available to upgrade a 129mb app(according to the app store). Whats that all about?! New Headphones iphone 3G

Theyre pretty much identical to the ones that came with the phone with the only addition being the volume control. It would be pretty nice to use those to control the volume to I wouldnt have to take the phone out of my pocket. Reboot iphone once day

So I got my new 3G iphone one week before XMAS and after a couple of days I noticed that: 1. my phone is unresponsive after finishing a call. (requires a reboot occurs at least once a day)2. Apps close all of a sudden when in use. I took my iphone to the apple store last week to the King of Prussia store and I was told that this was occurring because the iphone software was corrupted and that a system restore would fix this. A couple of hours later the same problems kept occurring. I restored my phone two more times at home, but I still kept having the same problems. I also synch my phone daily. I made another appoint for today and a different guy at the genius bar told me that this occurring because my system memory is low and that caused my reboots. He even said that everyone that has an iphone or any smartphone should reboot their phone daily. I was really puzzled and upset that he told me I have to reboot my phone once a day. I have never heard this before and I wanted to know if other people have been told this, or was this guy just full of it. My iphone was replaced and I have not seen this problem occur so far. Sorry that was a little vague due to space limitations.. Basically, I got a replacement phone, and the guy at the genius bar said that my data would be restored to it when I sync it. Im a little concerned because sync-ing just got the black data off my phone when I had installed enterprise support months ago. so I thought Id ask if I should be doing anything special for the first sync to get as much info back in the phone as possible. side question: I noticed I have none of my address book despite using my old sim card. iphone top sleepwake button not working Apple Logo screen at startup

I have the original iphone. I have two problems, both just happened tonight at the same time. For seemingly no reason just my iphone external top sleep/wake button is not working. I tried powering the phone off and back on. I tried resetting my iphone, and restoring it. I made sure my iphone software is up to date. None of these remedies have fixed the button. The button doesnt look broken, it pushes in and out, it just doesnt work anymore. Second problem is, after I power my iphone off and then back on, the Apple logo screen will continue to flash on and off indefinitely. The only way to get my home screen to appear is to connect my iphone to my computer. Then it wants to sync. After syncing it then asks if I want to power off or cancel. Huh, why does is it doing that? To turn my iphone off I am pressing my Home button down until it shuts off, since I cant power off with the top black button. Is that the reason my phone is having the second problem, because I am powering off with the Home button? Could it be my second problem is not a problem?My iphone 1 year warranty is over. I cant call Apple Care, there is no apple store near me. I need a solution I can do at home myself. Please help. Even if you think the answer is obvious please suggest it to me. iphone asking me to activate again and app store now displaying US version

Hi all, had to restart iphone a couple of days ago due to an application crash. Ever since then the phone seems really slow, however after I restarted it came up with the connect to iTunes screen asking me to activate. I force restarted and it came back fine, then the slowness, and now the app store is giving me the us version, apps like pandora are displayed, and everything is in dollars. Static noise in phone ear speaker iphone

after several months of having my iphone, and it breaking, I went in to the apple store to speak to an iphone Genius. The name of his job title, aside from being very arrogant, was far from the truth!!Anyway, he couldnt answer my questions, and suggested i should post them to apple. The iphone either lacks a lot of features which even my first Nokia had, or i just cant find them. Wonder if anyone can help:Forwarding Texts:cant forward a text. This is annoying, as if someone sends me some info in a text i wish to send on, i cant see how to forward, nor how to copy and paste the info into a new txt.Red Button:Wheres the reject call button? If my phone is on the lock screen when it rings, the only option I have is to answer or silence it. Silencing the ringing is no good, as people often hang up before Voicemail kicks in.Snoozing Reminders:if i have a calendar reminder, cant see how you snooze it. Missed loads of appointments and reminders with this one. Very easy to loose the reminders from the screen, and then not see them.There are so many more things that thoroughly disappoint me about this phone - the bluetooth stack, the 3G/GSM implementation, cant change the home screen background from black, cant have your own ringtones - or even set a MP3 song which you have bought on itunes as a ring tone, etc etc.However, these are more annoyances than show stoppers.I hope someone can help with the top three above, or maybe, someone in apple might see this post and suggest to include these rudimentary features that have been present in phones since mobiles went digital in the next software release. Earphone tip broken off into port-Employee tries to fix considered accidental dmg iphone 3G

A couple of weeks ago the tip of my iphone earphone broke off into the port. I had my iphone in the inside of my coat pocket, I come home, take out the earphone and low and behold the tip became stuck inside of it.My iphone thinks that a set of earphones are constantly plugged in, even tho they are not. Because of this, I have to talk on the phone by either a bluetooth or speaker.About a week ago I went to the Apple store in Manhattan and seeked some help. I didnt have an appointment or anything as I was just touristing around the city and just ran into the Apple store. I was planning on going to my local Apple store sometime after Christmas when I have a few days off and time to take care of it.At the store, an blue shirt genius attempted to pry the piece out with some type of tool to no prevail. He then said to me since the iphone is still covered under warranty, he would be happy to exchange it right then and there. I told him that I didnt want to as I wasnt prepared because I never backed up any of my contacts and such. The plan for me was to go home, backup my iphone data, go to my local Apple store, have them look at it, and if they were unable to fix it, then get a new iphone under warranty.So today I go out to my local Apple store at King of Prussia, PA and the associate and manager there told me that they can not give me an exchange because the tip of the earphone breaking off was due to accidental damage, and accidental damage is not covered by the limited warranty. (I looked over the warranty online after I left and it does say this.) However, how is this accidental damage? It was in my coat pocket comfortably, working fine all the way until I took it out. I asked the associate this and he referred to the roughed up edges on the rounded port to where you put the earphone jack into, and referred to this as accidental damage. BUT...that roughed up edge was caused by an Apple store employee at the 5th avenue Manhattan store as he tried to pull it out with some tool.After some more arguing with the store manager, I ended up not getting a new iphone yet....But he did tell me that I can buy a new one for $299; like I didnt know how much I spent on it in the first place.Another thing that ***** tho is that there is no history of me being at the Manhattan store as I never had an appointment and just walked in. But now there is a history of me going into my local Apple store and not getting a new iphone because of accidental damage, which was caused by an Apple employee. Anyways, what do you all think about this? The manager said it was accidental damage because of the roughed up edges, but those roughed up edges were caused by an Apple employee himself.

Error Sending Message iphone

This popped up almost a week ago now - last Friday. I compose a text, tap send and it gives me the little progress bar, moves as if its going to send, and then stops about 1/8th to 1/6th of the way and I get a little message where it usually says sending that says Error Sending MessageAll my googling has come up with people experiencing this on jailbroken iPhones or when they have a momentary drop in service (at which point they just hit send again). But I can receive texts just fine. All other operations on the phone are fine - sending/receiving emails, placing/receiving phone calls, etc.There was some mention of a possibly incorrect SMS Service Center Number...? I realize this isnt an AT&T forum, but Im hoping someone out there can help.At the Genius Bar, they said they thought it was an AT&T issue. I went to the AT&T store, where they called the iphone troubleshooting hotline. The iphone Troubleshooting guy didnt know what was going on, and suggested swapping to a new SIM card. So, we tried a new SIM card and we tried someone elses SIM card in my iphone....still nada.Which makes me think its software...? hello, first of all i live in an African Country, the iphone 3G was recently launched by ORANGE here, i purchased one from the Orange store for Christmas and i am experiencing a lot of problems.First of all when i was waiting for my iphone to be activated in the store, the employee said that they were experiencing problems with my iphone 3G, to make a long story short, they replaced the sim card and the phone seemed to work.after about a week of using the phone, ive noticed:-some of my calls are being dropped randomly-the metal frame around the plastic bit hasnt been glued (manufactured) properly, a fraction of a mm of light is emmiting from one side of the phones metal framework-my phone randomly tells me theres no service and then suddenly 10mins later i get full service (without moving the phone, the same happens with my wi-fi)-my phone randomly goes on silent (the ringtone is on the loudest, and the silent button hasnt been activted)Can someone give me advice on what i should do? do i go to ORANGE and ask them to give me a new iphone? what should i tell them exactly?its a first hand phone, i havnt dropped the phone, and yes i have already tried reformatting the phone, and i still have the same problems, and in case your wondering, NO i did not jailbreak my iphone 3G - 8GB iphone 3G - 8GB Mac OS X (10.5.6) Malfunctioning - Replacing

Im a serious amateur cyclist. I have an original iphone and always have it on me while riding. I wasnt planning on upgrading to an iphone 3G, preferring to wait another year, maybe catch the next model. But Id like to update my Garmin GPS for a more modern unit, and I need to know if the iphone 3G GPS + some sort of app store app would suffice for route tracking, distance and time tracking, etc. Or is a combination of an iphone app and the iphone 3G GPS better suited for more casual GPS users -- and Id be better off with a dedicated runner/cyclist GPS device? You cannot remove the stupid black front page screen, you cannot remove the stocks application icon from it, you have to listen to a beep sound (or some other lame ones) for text messages alerts, look I know there are experts out ther thinking they did a great job but PEOPLE PLEASE, even the prepay from the 99cent store has customizable display or atleast your rintones for message alerts.... Passcoded iphone 3G Bricked After Upgrade to 2.2

Used iTunes to upgrade iphone 3G from 2.1 to 2.2. iphone had a passcode - the cause of all the problems, I think. Upgrade went well until iphone rebooted, at which point iTunes reported it could not connect to iphone because it is locked with a passcode. iphone presents emergency call interface with picture of USB cable towards an iTunes icon - no passcode prompt.iphone is legal, iTunes/PC is latest.Tried restore via DFU. No joy. What kind of a deal was made with AT&T? For Christmas I received a gift certificate for a long-lusted-after 8GB iphone, took it to the Apple store to collect my present and was told that I was not ready for an upgrade with AT&T. I would have to wait 46 DAYS to activate my beauty! If I would have been a Verizon (or T-Mobile) customer for the past 8 years instead of an AT&T customer, I would be enjoying my iphone today instead of counting the days until February 9. Screen shifting issues iphone 3G

I recently bought a 3g iphone and just noticed that the screen shifter feature doesnt work every time Im using Itunes. I know that the phone has to be vertical to the ground in order to work. The weird thing is that it works fine say 4 out of 5 times. If I take it to an Apple store can they hook it up to a computer to run a diagnostic test to see if it is faulty? Ive had my iphone 3g for about a month now and Ive just noticed that the screen is peeling around the home button, around the ear speaker, and along the bottom edge of the screen. PHONE CHIRPS AND MAKES OTHER WEIRD SOUNDS WHEN ON CALL iphone 3G

My girlfriends phone is getting worse. Every time shes on a call the phone starts chirping loud and gives off other weird sounds. To be honest it sounds like Im having a conversation with R2D2. OK, im about 90% sure theres nothing more I can do to improve my battery life on my iphone 3G, but Im looking for some other peoples input before I go way out of my way to go to the apple store, which is about an hour drive (dont have an address that i could use the mailing method ... so thats not an option)Heres my current setup:Hardware: iphone 3G, running iphone 2.2 OS3G: off- not in a 3G enabled cityWifi: off (on when web surfing at home- not frequent as I use my laptop...)Location services: Off, unless im using Maps to get somewhere (rare)Email: Push is activated on my MobileMe account, turned off my work MS Exchange account entirely (would like to have it on) and my third email is turned off as well. Ford USB doesnt recognize iphone anymore 3G

While driving today using my iphones iPod via USB on my 2009 Ford Escape the music stopped and I eventually restarted the phone. The car never recognized the iPod again. I went the the Apple store and eventually they replaced the phone. Even before I re-syncd the phone the car would not recognized the iPod. Hi Guys,Ive recently got a new ipod touch, but am finding Im using online apps more than I expected & needing to find wi-fi hotspots is frustrating, so am considering moving straight to an iphone.I have 2 questions:1) can I transfer all the apps Ive bought via the itunes store to the iphone when I sync it?2) will battery usage be drastically better with data using 3G instead of Wi-Fi? - Im finding my iPod touch goes through a fully charged battery in around 90 mins using wifi Any advice appreciated MBP 2.4 + 4Gig Ram & Intel iMac 20 + 2 Gig Ram. Anti Glare Film Working with Crystal Jacket iphone

Hello, I recently got an iphone for my Birthday/Xmas. I have a case for my iphone, but its white and the Film that covers the screen always has air bubbles even after I clean the whole phone. I was looking for a better case and Anti-Glare Film and was told that these two products are the best choices. Belkin hub 3 iphone restores in 2 weeks 3G

I dont know what has changed in the past month, perhaps something in 10.5.6, but if I have my iphone 3G plugged in through my Belkin 7 port USB hubs (one at home, one at work) Ive irregularly ended up with my phone in a corrupt state that requires I restore. The phone works great, has all apps, but has no music and iTunes throws up an error every time it connects, even connecting directly, stating I need to restore the phone so I can no longer sync.It doesnt seem to appear if Im directly connected to my AlMacBook. Needless to say, Im not all that happy with my Belkin hub, but AFAIK there arent higher-quality hubs out there and Im not in the mood to buy a bunch of hubs only to end up with more lemons (Apple, business opportunity! How about 5v isolated power to each USB port? Something Ive not seen yet on a hub. Id love to drive my USB HD directly off the hub but my Belkin doesnt provide reliable power.)Anyways, wondering if other folks are seeing the same problem, or if my iphone is having some odd issue that I should take into the Apple store, or if I should just shut up and plug my phone in directly. :^) iphone 3G 16GB Mac OS X (10.5.6) Aluminum MacBook

Help-I just lost over 1200 on 2 iphones COMPLAINT to ATT and Apple

Dear Apple,I bought 2 iPhones (16GB) from AT&T store while activating new service with them. After about a month or so, I was so frustrated* (see all reason listed at the end) with AT&T service that I decided to cancel it and go back to T-mobile. Overall I paid over $1200 for the two iPhones (including tax, cancellation fees, first month usage fee etc.).Now when I was trying to go back to T-mobile, to my surprise the iphone wont work! I cannot believe that I just spent $1200 on 2 shiny paper weights (I cant even get past the activation stage because I did a firmware upgrade procedure on my iphone, iTunes wont sync because it complains that my t-mobile sim was not valid). I called AT&T first and asked them to unlock my phone. They were pretty hesitant to work with me since I had already canceled my account with them. But eventually the customer rep told me that they have no control over the iPhones sim lock and advised me to call Apple. I called apple and the customer rep just plainly refused to unlock because they said it was not possible.I ask for your help. What do I do with the now defunct 2x $600 devices ? Reasons for cancellation:call drops due to low signal,several calls would ring, but upon picking up they would drop.very low voice quality,unusually high amount of wrong numbersSMS charges for incoming messages that I have no control over Mac Mini Core2Duo 2ghz Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Powering off and on on it s own iphone 3G

For the past coule of days My iphone has been acting up like crazy...it shuts itself off and on on its own..the times I have noticed Ill see the apple logo then 2 minutes later it goes on and asks for my password and I am able to get in...2 nights ago I notices it shut off again but this time when it turned on I seen the itunes logo with the usb cord as if it were the first time I opened the phone...it stayed this way all night until I decided to go to the apple store..before that I powered it off and on a couple times then finally it asked for my password and let me in...BUT IT STILL SHUTS OFF AND ON...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WHAT DO I DO.. also it has been kicking me out of the email almost everytime I reply to a email its getting very annoying...PLEASE HELP:) iphone 3G

i phone 3g cant make calls or receive iphone

my 3g iphone just stop receiving and letting me make calls yesterday! ive tried everything, reset it to factor settings, re-sync ed it, still nothing! Ive even tried the hard start by holding both buttons, for it to restart, and still nothing! i can receive e-mails, sends texts, and still get on the internet, just cant make or receive calls! i got an appointment on tuesday at the store, if anyone has any suggestions, will take any right now! hp Windows Vista

Cannot hear phone calls iphone

Hi, I have an iphone 3G thats been fine til today. When I use the phone, I cant hear anything. The caller, however, can hear me. The speaker in the phone is fine; I can play songs and hear them fine over the phones speaker. The problem seems to be only when I use the actual phone. When I press speakerphone during a call nothing happens then either. Its as though the act of using the device as a phone kills the speaker. As soon as I hang up the call, I can hear the speaker again.Ive been through the troubleshooting tips... Turned off bluetooth, use earphone jack to make sure no dirt is built up in the headphone jack...(Its a clean iphone!) Ive done the two-fingered reset -- all to no avail. All the audio works except the telephone and even though the call completes - and the person on the other end can hear me - I cant hear a thing. Theres no sound at all... no hiss, nothing, when the phone is in use.Apart from the phone/audio anomaly, everything else is working fine. Have I done something stupid? (Yes, Ive tried cutting the volume up and no, it doesnt say headphone when I do) I rarely use a bluetooth headset (bluetooths now off anyway) and havent had my phone connected to anything other than my MBP to charge the battery. The area I live in doesnt support 3G, so thats turned off to save battery power.And if no one might know of a cure, where the heck do I get my phone fixed? I bought it at an AT&T store... will they take care of it if necessary? Online, it appears that Apple will let me see if its under warranty by keying in my phones serial number (and it is!) but then stops there... Wouldnt it be great if they had a link from that warranty status page to either an 800 number or some kind of email tech support... or anything useful? I would imagine the need for support is the #1 reason people look to see if they have time left on their warranty. Its almost as if Apple thinks the iphone is infallible and will never need service because they sure dont like to tell you how they go about fixing one if need be.Sorry - rant over. Im just glad I kept my land line. Any help or advice on where I might get service - assuming its not something silly Ive done that I can fix - would be greatly appreciated. Apps on iphone failing to sync with iTunes 3G

Pretty much what it says in the subject. Doesnt matter whether I sync or transfer purchases, the only way to get iTunes to contain the same apps as the phone is to download them again through the iTunes store. Which defeats the object I think.Is there any way to fix this? Windows XP Pro
