iphone 5-rattling phone second replacement coming

hi guys. i can see this is a common issue. i have heard a few different reasons about why this is happening. either it's the autofocus mechanism or the vibrate motor.whatever the reason, this should not be happening on a £600 piece of hardware. the quality control at apple is not what it used to be and when they are rushing to manufacture millions of devices to tight deadlines in china then this is a problem that was going to happen sooner or later.i am of the opinion that this is a fault with possibly more than 50% of all iphones manufactured to date and apple needs to do a product recall. it seems that they have told staff to not admit this as a fault to try and avoid just that.i got a replacement and it arrived, the rattle was slightly less noticable but definitely still there. i just ordered another replacement and will continue to keep doing so until i get a device that doesn't rattle.before anyone says that this is normal and it is SUPPOSED to rattle, that is BS. i have been to the apple store in brighton and tried the display models and even tried a few they had in the back after speaking with a staff member. out of the 12 phones i went through, 2 didnt rattle AT ALL. Now you tell me if that is normal and people should just put up with the substandard product that apple has churned out this time. I say NO, and the more people that actually make a stand, the quicker apple will be forced to spend some of their $600B on fixing this issue.

My family and I recently moved to Shanghai for my dad's job. We bought an unlocked iphone 4s w/AppleCare in the U.S. and got a Chinese SIM card in china. I was riding my bike on the street and my phone fell out of my pocket and onto the road. The screen is completely cracked and the power on/off button is stuck. We're going back home for a couple months in the summer. Honestly, I don't want to have to deal with my cracked screen for another month. I'm wondering what my options are for this. Phone repalacement or phone repair? Do I have to wait to go back to the U.S. or can I go to an Apple store here and resolve it.

Rectangle transparent shield has appeared blocking taps on keypad iphone 5

A weird rectangular, transparent, shield has appeared "above" any key selected from lock code to apps that blocks any tapping on any keys or keypad.If I tap hard and fast, it might catch but then enters the number, or whatever, multiple times (cause of rapid tapping).  This has happened 6 times since March, where I've had to fully restore factory setting. First time, didn't know had to manually back up apps, dir., etc., so had to re-build it all 1st time. Since, same weird transparent shield appears, then no button will "select" or function until full restore. Because after rapid tapping, hard, one might stick, after 1, 2, 3, Dozentaps, it proves something transparent is blocking (the rectangle appears as a fine point box line hovering above anything I tap). This last time, the full restore put it back, and the problem is still there.Am back on my old 4S, which I kept, as spare (amazingly) until a fix.  Will prolly have to send it in on a slow boat to china, where itwas made, which is gonna be quicker than a repair job, I'm sure. Nothing like this comes up on the forum, any advice is well appreciated.Thank you kindly.

iphone 5 64gb delay before unlock screen appears

hi.. im newb..  my missus & me just got 2 iphone 5 64gb, all up to date with ios and we both get the same problem. hopefully i can explain it properly. after u hit the button on the top when ur not using the phone and then come back later to use it, you press round button, sometimes nothing happens sometimes and it takes anywhere from 30 secs to a few minutes before it shows the slide to unlock screen. it doesnt happen all the time, but enough to be annoying. ive restarted a few times and this doesnt seem to have any effect. now my messages are doing the same thing - it hangs on a blank blue screen. my partner suggested it could be because its 64gb? either way, my phone is empty, like 50gb free. Any help would be appreciated. I use my phone for work & its annoying when u need to show someone a photo or something and right just then ur phone decides to go on vacation.....

Hello, I bought a iphone 5 64gb yesterday from a dealer, went home & tried to change the ringers & noticed I don't have any sound at all.Yes, I had tried the switch on the left side of the phone. Music plays with headphones, paused music took the headphones out & tried playing a song to no sound yet again. Did a factory reset, nothing. Have the current version of iOS. iphone 5 64gb no more 3G only GPRS with SFR help

Good morning, I have an Iphone5, 2 weeks approx, worked perfectly till yesterday morning. Problem: Turned on yesterday and 3G was there, then I turn on WIFI all morning worked from home as usual. Turned of WIFI went to the garage (no more signal as is underground) out of the garage no more 3G, EDGE etc, only for brief moment (seconds) I did the following operations: Reset network 3 times, 3G back for couple of hourse as I loose signal the phone doesn't go back any more to 3G no GPRS etc Changed SIM 3G as above. Reset the phone as above. Now with 3G of from setting I only use 2G and this is working well, still 3G is missing in action, other people around me same carrier SFR don't have the same problem, any ideas?

Factory unlocked a1428 T-mobile firmware iphone 5

I purchased a factory unlocked 64gb a1428 iphone 5 last November for use on T-Mobile's network.  It is my understanding that there were no hardware changes between the at&t a1428 and the upcoming T-Mobile a1428, as the Qualcomm radio is firmware upgradeable.  I understand that there will not be a user friendly flash upgrade (I wouldn't trust an enduser to administer a firmware update that can permanately brick their phones), So I was wondering if those of us with factory unlocked phones would be able to have the upgrade done at an apple support center?

Why my iphone 5 intermittantly unresponsive when locked

Okay guys, Here is my issue with some backstory; Bought a black 64gb iphone 5 new as soon as they first came out.No issue. I upgrade my iOS as soon as updates come out, and this issue has been present since I upgraded to iOS 6.1.And has not been fixed since then. I sent a feedback form to apple before 6.1.2 was released, now even at 6.1.3 the issue has not been fixed. It's difficult to describe, and very hard to find anyone else with the same issue online, as the keywords used are similar to many other issues. Basically, when my phone is locked and the screen is off, I press a button, no response, this can be any button, even trying to power down the unit, but nothing happens.  I can plug in the charger, no sound, no vibration, but 30-60 seconds later, the screen will come on, the phone will vibrate, and it will make a sound.  Everything is back to normal. I've tried restoring, but it doesn't fix the problem, I would think it's a software issue as it only became an issue after I upgraded to iOS 6.1. This isn't an isolated incident as my girlfriend who I also set up with a black 16gb iphone 5 is also having the exact same issue. There doesn't appear to be any sort of trigger that causes it, it can happen once a day, or once every few days, or 10 times in 2 hours! It's not a huge issue I know, but it has led to missing calls, and even missing bids on eBay etc. I'm just here to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue, and to see if there's a proper way to describe this... freezing? unresponiveness? And perhaps this might help other people with the same issue if we find a way to resolve it. Thanks for reading!

I see a lot of people have this issue. What are the answers from Apple when you complain about this? I was one of the first ones to get one. It is a white 64gb and it has been in my purse or in a flat surface all of the time, unless in my hands. It hasn't dropped. Reading on the web has made me realize that this really is a problem with the phone. It is bent on the side where the volume buttons are located. I returned it to the store I bought it today, curious what they will say. exchange server doesn't work after updating to ios 6.1.3 iphone 5

I have a 64gb iphone 5.  After updating to iOS 6.1.3, I can no longer receive email to my exchange account.  I keep getting an "unable to verify" message.  This happened immediately after I updated the phone.  I tried turning the phone off and on after the update, and I then tried deleting the account and reentering the information.  I did not have any luck.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

Dropped iphone 5 in water trying to restore now error 1603

On Wednesday night I was on the toilet playing on my phone. After I was done my phone slipped out of my hands and in to the toilet. I quickly grapped it out of the toilet before the toilet flushed it down and immediately started drying it off. Now I was a little bit drunk that night so I wasn't completely in my right mind. I started to elevate it and lay it on a towel. I also knew from before that rice would help with drying it off. Not knowing at the time it had to be uncooked, I cooked a bag of rice for about 8 min and drained as much water from the rice as possible and let my phone sit in it for about 10 min. Well then I learned it had to be uncooked. So I put the phone in uncooked rice after it sat in the cooked rice for about 5-10min. I let the phone sit in a bowl of uncooked rice for the whole night and the next day at about 12, I took it out and tried turning it on. It thankfully came on, but needed to be charged, so I charged it via the wall for about 15-20 min. After checking it I saw that the apple logo was being displayed so I let it stay like that for about a couple minutes. Seeing nothing else was happening I started pushing the power and home button down at the same time to restart it. That did not work either and soon I was getting the message to plug into iTunes, which I did. Once I plugged it into itunes I put it into recovery mode to restore. That was working just fine. It started to extract the software, verified the restore with Apple, and started to prepare it for restore. Well after 1-2 minutes of preparing i got an error message saying iTunes could not restore it because of error 1603. I looked up this error and it says something is wrong with my windows operating system. I disconnected all USB drives, closed everything down, and restarted my laptop. I tried restoring again and the same error message came up again. So I decided to let the phone sit in rice again for about 24hrs. Now I have tried to restore it about 6 times now and keep getting the same error message. I have also recently taken out the SIM card and tried restoring it but the same error message and the same point in the restore process. Anyone have any tips? I have looked into taking it to Apple, but my only option would be to buy a refurbished iphone. I wouldn't mind doing that, but I don't want to spend a lot. I originally purchased the 64gb white iphone 5 from Apple and am not sure if they charge more for the 64gb model.

hi, everyone, I'm from china. I'm using an iphone 4s 16G black with a Trexta shell. I bought it in the Sanlitun Apple store, Beijing. Last night I wanted to change another shell. After I took off the Trexta shell, I found there was a sunken part which felt smooth by fingers on the back cover(the adge is not sunken). I've never dropped my iphone on the floor and there is no collision track you could see in the first picture. I thought it's like this when I bought it.  so I posted these on the biggest apple communities of china, but no one had seen this kind of problem before. Someone thought it's a plastic forming problem. In my opinion, the Apple products represent the best and perfect. If it's really a plastic forming problem, I can't believe it would happen on the iphone. someone said "go to the Apple store and change a new one", but Apple customer service said, after 14 days, Appearance problems is not in the warranty scope. someone suggested me to keep it as a souvenir, cause it's a small probability event.someone joked that I can put my iphone on Ebay, it's an Apple with a bite, maybe someone want to buy it. Have anyone seen the same problem before?  I hope you can understand what i'm saying, and forgive my poor English. Bought an iphone in Thailand needs repairs where I go to exchange it iphone 4S

Hi - I purchased a 4S iphone in Thailand about three weeks ago while I was on vacation there. Three days later while I was already away from Thailand a pixel on the left side of the screen busted and a horizontal line is now across my screen.  On my way back from Thailand had enough time to stop by the Apple store in Hong Kong and the tech support team there told me that only an Apple store in Thailand can help me replace or fix my phone at possible no charge. I called the apple retail store in Bangkok and the sales person told me I only had 15 days to return the phone to him for a possible exchange.  I live in china and I am not planning on traveling to Thailand just for the phone. What are my options to have the screen either replace or fix?  Thanks, Rene

My iphone 5 64gb is heating when I'm using it,the camera has purple haze when i click pictures not in every picture but a few and it lags the pictures are supposed to be clicked in an instant..no burst shot..and the battery lasts just 5 hours.. What i need to replace my screen iphone 4S

I was in class today using my iphone 4S 64gb.I set it down on my desk, and turned around to answer sombody's question. When i turned back to my desk, i knocked my iphone onto the tile floor (3-4 feet) and it completely obliterated my screen. I relaced the glass & LCD screen on my iphone 4, which was easy because i knew that the LCD was broken. But with this phone, ive noticed that the screen works. Have terrible iphone 5 back up, iOS version 6.0.1. Just got it on the 31st of December and I'm extremely disappointed with the way my phone is running. I charge it around the night and use it from 9am and my battery dies by 4pm only with usage of Facebook, Whatsapp and a bit of browsing the net on Safari. A friend of mine advised me to drain the battery and charge it once it does and follow this through for a whole week, will this method work and later improve my battery life?
