Official unlocking of iphone 4 from orange Apple approved

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (orange is the network the iphone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-orange 3G Sim Card do I !! Any advice??? much appreciated. instruction copied below:- Apple Unlock Procedure1)Insert a non-orange 3G SIM card. Now i switched to postpaid connection but now 3G internet is not working even it has been activated from the provider. I contacted orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iphone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. I have iphone 4S and using chrome app. Google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on Safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, Safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem.  Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. I am about to buy an unlocked iphone 5 direct from Apple here in the UK, which will be pay-as-you-go, and I want to know if I can use a service provider here in the UK for most of the time, but when I travel to germany (about twice a month) will I be able to swap out the UK SIM and insert a comparable one whilst in germany, then swap back when I return home?  As far as I can tell from Apple's web site info: (http://store.apple.com/uk/buy/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone5) "...About the unlocked iphone.Unlocked iphone isn't tied to one network, so you have the freedom to choose any supported GSM network worldwide. so this weekend i was on the my iphone 4s making a call then i pu tmy phone down i picked it up a few minutes later to check the time and i cant see my screen anymore its either just black or it flashes white and has lines through it i didnt drop my phone so theres no outer damage at all i can still use the digitizer and everything works fine it just seems the lcd has stopped working ive tried hard restart restoring my phone to factory settings and everythign else i could think of but nothing works i have a repair request set up waiting for apple to send me the packaging to mail them my phone just wondering if the apple one year warranty covers lcd failure as it was not my fault and i just bought the phone brand new 2 months ago

Hi! I recently upgraded to iphone 5 with orange and had just got myself a 24month contract but after a couple of weeks, the worst happend - I managed to drop my lovely new phone down the toilet! hello everyone i just got my mothers old iphone 4s(believe it is a 4s rather then just a 4) and i called into orange (UK carrier) and i got the sim i called an activated it all fine put sim in phone try to activate the phone, and it won't let me keeps telling me my sim is invalid anyone know how to fix this, they did say that i would get texts about the sim over the next 12 hours and it would take a little time for it change from my old phone but my old phone is already saying no service which means it's been transfered over

That would tend to indicate a hardware failure. There is no magic that will fix a hardware failure. The warranty is 1 year. Outside of that, you'll have to pay. They were correct when they told you that is substantially less than the cost of a new phone.

7 different faults-it hardware failure iphone 4S

I've had my 4S since January 2012.  All was well for about a year, and then the fun began.1) When the weather got colder (Less than five or six degrees), the phone would suddenly claim to have a flat battery, and turned itself off.  Plugging in an external battery pack brought it back to life.  Taking it back inside a warm building would bring it back to life again.  2) About twice a month, it crashes, and wipes all my contacts/calendar data.  I started backing up to iCloud, so then it would restore from there, but muddle my contacts' photos up.3) It refuses to sync with iTunes.  It says there's not enough memory.  Sometimes on the phone, sometimes on my PC.4) At least once a day, it loses the ability to join any mobile network.  Turning it off and on again usually allows it to rejoin my network (T Mobile).5) Instead of T Mobile, it randomly likes to show my operator name as 000-0000.6) It helpfully closes all my Safari tabs if I minimise Safari and use another app.7) The GPS is failing, which is a real nuisance because I use Nike+ for my daily jog. T Mobile's tech help were not very much help as soon as they realised I'd had the phone for over a year, and was therefore no longer covered by their warranty.  They reckoned it was a hardware failure.  I've purchased Apple Care today, and booked a Genius Bar appointment for Friday.  Does anyone have experience of any of these problems?

iphone 5 - No Service & WIFI keeps dropping I recently upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 5 and since then I am having a nightmare with connectivity.  My phone constantly says No Service or doesn’t pick up WIFI in places my old phone worked absolutely fine.  I am with the same company, orange, so it isn’t a change to service provider.  I know the phone is at fault as I commute the same way every day etc and never had this issue before.   Any ideas?  orange (bandits!) won’t speak to me as it is outwith the 14 days cooling off period!

Since iOS 6.1.2 my bluetooth in my 2012 Toyota Tacoma will not connect to the phone side of my iphone 4s. It worked fine before the 6.1.2 upgrade and 6.1.3 did not fix the problem. I've tried all the so-called fixes that you have seen floating around the forums to no avail. Restore, Rinse, Repeat....It does streaming music just fine and any app ie. direction giving GPS comes over loud and clear. NO PHONE THOUGH. When the phone is connected to a call in my truck, I do not have an AirPlay option symbol available on the Phone Screen. I know there are others that have this issue. I see them all over the net and forums. Apple Please fix this issue. I'm not ready to chunk out $600 for a premature upgrade because you might think it's a hardware failure.

Faced issues with iphone 5

Hi,  I bought my iphone 5 from germany just after the launch.However I live in Turkey and I didn't have chance to try my iphone before I got back to Turkey.After I turned back to my country I have noticed that there are several dust on camera sensor as you can see below pictures. In additon after a while the lock/power button stop working as well. Apple claims that Apple products have 1 year international warranty but this doesn't work in Turkey. Nobady gets responsibility of any Apple product if the customer buys it from any foreign country.  I don't wanna go to germany just to visit an Apple store to solve my problem and I couldn't find any email address to contact with email.I am a loyal customer and I almost have all Apple products.  Could please check and advice a solution to solve my problem ?  Best Regards, Tayfun Tarı.

I just started to get a SIM failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? Hello,  Apple user's, I am a 15yr old with a passion for computers & design. Anyways I am interested in developing for the iphone, as I'll be getting one in a few months. I've never really developed any type of games before, but am in a game design school magnet, and want to begin to learn how to program as I've been meaning to for a while now. I'm interested in developing for the iphone, and know I need a Mac, Objective-c knowledge as well as XCode knowledge, and a $99 Subscription to be able to sell and test my apps. So here's some questions I've been wanting to ask for awhile...1. Would you recommend a Mac-Mini ? I see i5 Mac mini's on craigslist going for around $400-$450, and know I could afford that. I switch between my mom/dad's house weekly, and have a Windows based desktop that I built w/ monitor at each house, So I'm thinking i could just bring a small Mac-Mini back and forth with me, as they're pretty small.2. Could you guy's point me towards some nice Objective-C or XCode tutorials or books? I've just started spring break and want to take advantage of the time off.3. I'm only 15, so how would I go about selling apps, Ill probably have mostly free apps but would like to incorporate paid versions too, and I know i need to be 18 to sign a contract, would i just get my mom to sign the contract, and if she gets taxed extra I would just pay her the amount she was taxed ? (BTW, I'm in FL)4. How would I sell apps under a company name, I've heard of people trying to list apps and it saying they're real name instead of a company / made up name. There are obvious reasons I'd like to sell an app under a company name, no one wants to buy an app from a company named, for example "Steve". It pretty much set's your app up for failure. Would I have to register all kinds of legal crap just to make it say a developer name like, for example " FunTide Apps".5. iphone 5 wet works after drying for 10 days-screen still dark not black backlight

Hello...I hope someone out there can help. I am very un-technical, and I'm afraid to ask my husband, who isn't, for help until I have exhausted other possibilities. I was browsing the internet on my new iphone5 when it slipped headfirst into the lukewarm, half-empty cup of black tea on my lap. So it was partially submerged in tea for about 1 second. I yanked it out, dried it off, shook it out, then not knowing what else to do at 4 AM, grabbed the hair dryer and very gently and very briefly blew air towards the top openings (speaker and pone jack).  The phone had worked for a few seconds after I retrieved it, but I didn't know to be sure it was turned off...i just assumed (I know, I know) it was turned off since the screen was totally black. About ten minutes later, when my previously out-of-battery ipad was charged enough for me to look up "wet iphone" I put the phone into a bag of rice and kept searching for help online. About 30 mins later I had the SIM card removed and put the phone back into the rice. Left it in rice for 1 full day, then when when I could finally get to a store, I put it in between two "damp-rid" type packets inside a lunchbox on top of my water heater where it is warm. I left it alone for four or five days, then tried turning it on. nothing. Then I put the sim card in, and felt the little vibration of a phone powering on!! Screen was almost completely dark, so I returned it to the damp rid coffin it into the damp rid container for Another few days. Ans so, the exciting conclusion: Just now, I connected it to iTunes and could see very faintly enough to use the touchscreen. Reinstalled  everything, and made a call to my husband so he won't wonder why I haven't called him from my iphone for ten days. Everything else seems to work but I want to know if I can fix the screen in any way. There are no apple stores in germany yet and I don't want to buy a replacement phone. Techie: Can and/orShould I take it apart and look for corrosion? i have read some DIY tips for older phones on other forums but not for iphone 5. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks for reading.

iphone 4S stopped reading S card after 6 months

I have iphone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time

Or I can buy a Nexus 4 for half the price and deprive Apple of any more of my business. I say this typing on my iPad, and knowing that my wife has my iphone 4 (it was hers which was damaged), and my kids both have iPod touch's. To be fair, I thought the standard out of warranty repair/replacement price was good value given that most times it will be for accidental damage and not for failure of Apple parts, and the response to the service request was prompt and efficient. However, their massively different price for devices repaired by people other than Apple has put me right off buying another iphone. The price exceeds the cost of a new device from Apple Store. If they had simply said, sorry we cannot repair or replace your device because it has non Apple parts, then I would say fair enough. Why even offer to replace for a price higher than a new phone complete with accessories and a 12 month warranty?

I am on my 4th iphone 5. The buttons keep going out for no apparent reason. I always keep my phone in a case and keep it in perfect condition. I have yet to find a solution to this problem and from talking to the genus at the store I doubt there is one. So here is my question. How many times can I get my iphone replaced before they start charging me and does my warranty start over when I get it replaced or does it still end a year from when I originally got my iphone?
