How can I update to IOS5 iphone 4S

At the moment my computer is broken and I can't update using my computer. I have an iphone 4s and the update option used to be in my settings but it's not any more. Is there any way at all I could update?

I had put off upgrading my iphone 4 to the iOS6 and only gave in to it about a week ago when I thought that the trouble I was having with a select few apps was because of my outdated operating system. Now, I'm regretting it terribly and would either like to know how to revert back to iOS5 or fix this irritating as all **** and unproductive system. I had backed up my phone right before upgrading thinking that that way, I could just restore to it if I didn't like iOS6, but now I'm seeing that restoring to that point does not in fact restore firmware. Now I have a maps app that won't help me plan through public transit.An email app that will not update my inbox or any box even though it falslely says it checked and there was simply nothing new.Every other app I have crashes constantly.When I turn on the iPod/music function, there's an extended delay before the music will actually start playing.The shuffle function is messed up (if I'm playing a tracklist of 38 songs, it will only shuffle a few of them and just keep looping through those few tracks).etc etc My contract is almost up and I was hoping that all the negative stuff I had heard about iOS6 would have been resolved by now so that I could confidently by the next iphone, but at this rate, I'll be ditching Apple's phone entirely.

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-Orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (Orange is the network the iphone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-Orange 3G Sim Card do I !! Hi, My wifi is real slow on my iphone 5 it used to be very fast when I got the iphone i.e. 15Mbps, but after this update it dropped to 3.5mbps with exact same configuration and same router. I have other iphone4 which is still on ios5 , that still gives me 12Mbps wifi speed. What is this happening?

I plugged in my iphone into iTunes today, for the first time in a month, and I got the alert about if I wanted to update my iphone to iOS5. I said yes, and I let it update by itself, with no issues or problems.But once it restored, I noticed that my background on my phone was different, and then I saw that all my apps I have downloaded this month, all my photos, and every text message from this month had dissapeared, and it had all decided to restore what my phone was like a month ago.I took very important photographs yesterday, and I am desperate to find a way to recover them, please help me. I looked through my backups on iTunes and saw there was one from 8:50pm (around the time i plugged it into the computer) - so I asked it to restore from this backup, but it was still the backup from a month ago. Please, any suggestions or any ways to get my stuff back would be appreciated so much!

Only half of install button visible in app store for two apps iphone 3G

Only for 2 apps that may have been removed accidentaly (by my son) the install button in the app store is only partly visible, grey, and does not respond to clicking.Hard reset didn't help. Just before this happened i updated from ios5 to 6.Please advise how to get these apps back.

Been having a few issues with iOS6, First: Earbud headphones - The middle select button on the earbuds is now no longer working. I can press it once to start music or open up voice activation. But I can no longer double click to change tracks. Its not an issue with the earbuds as i have tested them on an iOS5 device. Volume control works fine. Second: Music controls on the lock screen do not work. I can double click the home button and the controls apear but pressing play does NOTHING! also double taping the home button once the screen is unlocked and swiping to the right to get up itunes controls, pressing play there also does nothing. I have to go into the music app to control my music......annoying when its in my pocket an i want to control it! Also when locking the screen the album artwork is no longer displayed as the background image. is anyone else getting these issues??? HELP!!!!!

Twitter notifications not working on iOS6 and Mountain Lion. iphone 3G

I have an iphone 4, about a month old, updated it 2 days ago to iOS6. Facebook is working, I get my messages and recieve other notifications too, but Twitter is not. No notifications of mentions, retweets, new followers. I believe I've tried everything; re-adding my account, deleting the app, rebooting, checked the settings, - everything's on - I even tried changing my name and adding that! Weird thing is, that when I go inside the Twitter app on my phone, and try to change the settings, - to get notifications from from "Anyone", instead of just "Follows" - when I quit the app, they all go back to default.It was working just fine under iOS5, and started doing this about 3 days ago, so that's why I decided to upgrade it. I also got a new Macbook Pro last week, and immediately updated it to Mountain Lion, I was excited about both Twitter and Facebook integrations. I recieve everything from Facebook here too, but none from Twitter. Did the same thing as on my phone, many-many times, still no luck. As an alternative option, I set up to get emails, when someone mentions me, I recieve those, but this REALLY annoys me, because Twitter is probably my most used app. It wouldn't even bother me on my Mac, as much as on my phone. Is anyone experiencing this? I'd appreciate any advice on how to get it working again!

Hi, well I currently own a iphone 3G with IOS 4. I wanted to install my netflix APP because I have a subscription with them. And wanted to get the most out of my account. My sister has an iphone 3GS and hers works flawlessly. I tried to install the Netflix app through itunes app store on my iphone and it says "IOS5 is required,Upgrade". So I try to upgrade through itunes but it says my current version is up to date but obviously it's not If the app store says I need to upgrade, What can I do?  I am pretty mad about this. I go to college and this is my only means of entertainment when Im not studying.

sound on my iphone 4S cuts out when playing musicpodcasts.

The sound on my iphone 4S cuts out when playing music/podcasts.  If I unplug and replug in the headphones, the sound comes back on, but often for only 20 seconds or so before cutting out again.  Sometimes it will play for 15-20minutes before cutting out.  The track is not "paused", and appears to continue, just no sound.  I tried cleaning the headphone jack with compressed air to no avail.  I also noticed the the same phenomenon occurs when I sync my bluetooth to my car audio.  That is, it will play for a while, then the sound will cut out, even though the track is still shown to be playing.  If I reset the bluetooth, the sound comes back on. This started happening about a week ago, but no "event" that I can think of caused it.  I didnt' get the phone wet, forcefully drop it, or leave it in extreme heat.  I've tried doing a reset of the phone.  I also was running iOS5 when I first noticed this, and since upgraded to iOS6.  The problem appeared with both. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Steve

having recent issues with bluetooth connectivity on iphone 4

I haven't been using headset for a couple of months, but it is fully charged and paired. I started using it again recently, and as close as the phone on left hip, and headset in right ear, it gets choppy, or drops out. It even disconnects when I lay on my couch. The phone is on my chest, headset in right ear.  I turn my head to the right so only my head is between the two devices.  Last I checked, I didnt have a metal plate in my head! I have iOS 5.01.  ProPlantronics Headset (for phone calls). And Philips SHB6100 (for music).  I have noticed cutout on the Philips headset while at the gym as well. Just an observation: I didn't have this problem prior to iOs5.0.1

I take a great number of conf calls and use either a wired headset or bluetooth headset.  On my iphone 4s and ios5 the screen would not lock while talking - so I could easily mute and unmute the phone.  Now on ios6 and iphone5 the phone locks and it takes a few seconds to get to be able to un-mute or do anything on the phone. Is there a method to stop this behavior?  I want the old normal back.

Upgrade to iOS6-Bluetooth now Flaky iphone 4S

I have had the iPhone4s working forever with 2 different Cadillacs (2010 and then a new 2013) only to find once I upgraded to the latest iOS6 on the iphone 4s the Bluetooth hands free for phone changed its behavior for the worst. Symptoms: Once the Phone is "paired" it works- someone can call me and I can answer it with the handsfree system in the Escalade. When making outbound calls is when it goes one of two ways listed below.      1. Phone dials and connects however the Audio "source" is the Handset in which case I have to click the Audio Source button on the handdset and select my Car handsfree for the call, which it then switches instantly to the car and everything proceeds fine. (The phone for some reason switches from the overhead audio source to handset by default)      2. Phone dials and connects and works perfectly over the Handsfree system  The phone ALWAYS connects as it should- it ALWAYS works flawlessly on incoming phone calls- its ONLY when I dial a call it goes to either the handset OR the Overhead system. There is NO pattern for the behavoir, it could work perfect for 3 straight calls then the 4 call it prefers the Handset. Or it could go to the handset on the FIRST call. I am on the phone constantly so this bug is very annoying. When I dial someone I have to wait to see if its going to randomly select the overhead sound system or the handset. This was not a problem in this vehicle when I was running IOS5- it literally started when I upgraded the iphone 4s to IOS6. I figured (hoped) that when the iPhone5 arrived it would make the problem go away however its the exact same behavoir. Has anyone else experienced this awesomeness? (I have already deleted and re-paired it a few times to no avail)   Frank

Charging not supported with this device but it's now working ok with another USB iphone 4

I updated to iOS5 a couple of months ago. Starting last night, my iphone started giving me the message 'charging is not supported with this device' and showing the fully charged icon when I was trying to charge it with the wall charger. The wall charger and USB is about 18 months old. I've switched the USB to another Apple one and it's now charging fine with no issues.However I've read on this forum that it could be an issue with a dirty connector and I don't know how to clean my iphone properly without damaging it.So do you think it was just a cable issue? I've got such paranoia about my phone!

Here's the scenario: 1) iphone (5, iOS6) is not in active use, no headphones or accessories connected. Device is in pocket, on desk, etc - device set to silent/vibrate using hardware switch on side. 2) A phone call is incoming, phone rings/vibrates. 3) I decline phone call using volume down button on left side of device. 4) Phone call is declined. 5) Music starts to play out of speakers at last volume set on headphones. I have an iphone 5 that will start to play music after declining a call using the volume down button on the left-hand side of the phone. Music was not being played at the time of the call. This was not an issue on my iphone 4 running iOS5 or iOS6. Any ideas? No Audio through Dock Connector iphone 4S

Hi, since a short time my iphone won't play audio through it's dock connector when for instance connecting to my car or alarm clock (with dock connector). Both work fine with my iphone 4 (also having iOS6) and my girlfriends 4S (still having iOS5.x) though. Also my iphone syncs with the apple cable with the PC and charges without any problem (it also charges on the alarm clock) - but, as I said, no audio. Any idea? I cleaned the dock connector already. Regards,Peter

iphone autolock and autod stopped working

Hi everyone, I've got an iphone 4 which I've just updated to iOS 6. Never had any major issues (I am ignoring the fact that my home button doesn't work. At all.) but it seems that autolock and autodimming now don't want to work. I've checked the settings and they're as they were in iOS5 where it worked perfectly, messed about with them to see if that helps and no luck. Autolock and dimming only seem to work if I've shut everything down in multitasking - always wanted to disable it but no can do. All apps seem to trigger it, I thought it was to do with location services, but even apps which are blocked from using that still cause the fault. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this as it's driving me nuts and killing my battery. Thank You, Emma

iphone 4 Volume Noise output problem

Since about a week and a half ago my phone has been experiencing problems outputting noise. When I get a text, phone call, send emails, anything etc it makes no alert noise and I've made sure the volume is on. What is most bizarre is how the volume bar disappears from the display. The problem is very intermittent though, sometimes it works and I hear alert tones but then it'll just switch off again. It even happens when I have headphones plugged in. I have been to see Apple but they weren't very helpful, I got told I'd need a phone, apparently the phone thinks it's still connected to a dock so that is why it is not playing any sounds which I find most bizarre because the only thing I ever connect it to is my power supply cable. I think he was just saying it though because it doesn't explain why it sometimes comes back! I am a bit furious because I am 3 weeks out of my warranty and I would have to get a new phone at £119 either that or upgrade and pay more money. Can anyone help me please? I was rather annoyed that the guy in front of me had purchased his phone second hand and because the power button had knackered he got his phone replaced for free, granted he was just within the warranty but still I am rather annoyed about it. I want a solution to fixing my phone, not having to buy a new one when my phone is in great condition except from the sound problem. This problem was also present in iOS5.

iphone 4S lagging bad

My iphone 4S started lagging really bad in framerate when I receive a single text! Here's how I tested it. I used Messages on my mac to send imessages to my phone. I would send about 12 at a time in a row. As I'm doing this, I'm on my home page of the iphone 4S flipping through my different pages of apps to check the fluidity of the interface. As I am flipping, the lag gets really bad as the phone is receiving the iMessages; it becomes choppy. I also found a forum mentioning that the issue was the "Banner Notification", but I tested that by turning Banners off. Even with the banners off the phone has terrible lag... Is this normal? I've never had this problem before.. It has gotten to points where the phone would freeze for a good 5 seconds. I did a hard reset, and after I tested it by spamming my phone with messages from my mac. After the hard reset, the lag went away but I feel like it's just a matter of time before it starts up again, and it did a couple of days later it started again but not as bad. This time around the lag occurred after I swiped to unlock and moved across my different pages of apps.I'm really upset. This problem has never occurred before and the 4S is supposed to still be able to keep up as of speed. I'm not sure if this is a software issue or not, but I hope it is just an iOS6 issue that can be patched. I didn't have this problem when I was on iOS5. I also didn't spend $700 on a phone that's supposedly the fastest iphone as little as a year ago, and now it's lagging like it's 2 generations behind. Please, can someone help.

Hi, I'm an iphone 5 user in the UK (on O2) And I've noticed that the iphone 5 keeps refusing to use wifi - even though it shows that it is connect to my router (I see my router as the only wifi signal - but it either doesn't show the "connected tick" - or it shows its connected - but  just doesn't use it) If I disable mobile data - the phone still refuses to use wifi - usually, if I keep pressing refresh - it eventually uses wifi -- but sometimes I have to make the phone forget the wifi - and then add it again. Another annoying thing - is that mobile data is terribly slow. If I have my iphone 5 in one hand - and my old 4s in the other (both on same O2 network - and same contracts, 4s still on ios5.X) -- the 5 will take much longer to load -- and a lot of times -- will just show the safari time-out message. I can upload a video to YouTube? Both show the same signal bars - but the iphone 5 is always slower. It's really making the phone a pain!  (And one more unrelated problem -- the 5 keeps forgetting my "keyboard shortcuts" - where I can type "cu" - and it fills in "see you soon", etc)  Is anyone else having this problem of useless mobile data, and not using wifi? I hope an ios6 update can fix these problems. Cheers!
