Hi all, i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.
So today I want to restore my iphone 5 to 6.0. I have tried to do so by getting the firmware of the correct form, (my make of my phone, model number, etc) and for some reason it won't restore. I've tried 2 different ones, 6.0 and 6.1 and to no avail. On iTunes it keeps coming up with 'Error 3194' I have researched into this and I have done as instructed on the official Apple error code help page, but still, it doesn't work, can anyone help? Cheers.
iphone 5 ios 6.1.4 password was entered incorrectly too many times. Now the iphone is disabled, state it needs connected to iTunes. Itunes state the iphone password must be entered on the iphone before it can connect to Itues. I can't do a firmware restore since the power button apparently is also disabled on 6.1.4 once the iphone is disabled. Looks like a loop and I can't get into the iphone.
How to update iphone 4 Pass with no error to update.
this my qeustion ?the iphone could not restored because the firmware file is not compatible
Just bought a brand new iphone 5 from Rogers (Canada) in December. For the month that I've had it I've had MAJOR problems with this device. I've had no major problems with my iphone 3G and iphone 4S, by the way.- Incoming calls get randomly dropped. No "busy signal", the line simply drops dead for whoever tries to call me. It doesn't even alert me that someone tried to call me. I'll only find out later if that person attempts to call again. But what if it's an important call and the person doesn't try calling again? Then I'm screwed. I've tested this by calling my iphone 5 from another cellphone by holding each phone in one hand. Out of 20 calls, at least 4-5 calls are dropped- Touch screen irresponsive- Very weak signal (on my 3G and 4S the signal bar is usually completely full or one bar from full, on my iphone 5 it's almost always only half full or less), the signal drops randomly outside (especially when I'm driving, the signal will just poof)I've already exchanged the phone TWICE. First time they exchanged it without question. Second time they told me it could be a carrier issue then told me to reset, restore, etc etc, then gave me a new one again. I'm on my third one, none of these problems are fixed. What are the chances I got 3 defective phones in a row? Seriously what is going on here? I've installed pretty much nothing on this phone except Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Yes I've resetted and restore like N times, and I'm on latest firmware. What should I do? I don't even know if it's a Rogers problem or I've just had the worst luck in the world with 3 defective phones in a row, because none of the customer service people are able to tell me exactly what in the world is going on.

Hi MistyYoung, The troubleshooting steps outlined below should help you with your Wi-Fi connection: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections Basic troubleshooting Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again.Verify that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.Check whether other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi-Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.Restart your iOS deviceHold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.Try restarting your Wi-Fi router by turning it off and then on again.Note: If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.Note: This will reset all network settings, including passwords, VPN, and APN settings. If this does not resolve your issue, refer to the article for more details based on the symptom you are having. I hope this information helps ....Have a great day! - Judy
I'm not sure as I don't know how to tell. If that deletes the imei then I suspect it was. Is there a way to restore all the data, such as modem firmware & imei?
I had put off upgrading my iphone 4 to the iOS6 and only gave in to it about a week ago when I thought that the trouble I was having with a select few apps was because of my outdated operating system. Now, I'm regretting it terribly and would either like to know how to revert back to iOS5 or fix this irritating as all **** and unproductive system. I had backed up my phone right before upgrading thinking that that way, I could just restore to it if I didn't like iOS6, but now I'm seeing that restoring to that point does not in fact restore firmware. Now I have a maps app that won't help me plan through public transit. An email app that will not update my inbox or any box even though it falslely says it checked and there was simply nothing new.Every other app I have crashes constantly. When I turn on the iPod/music function, there's an extended delay before the music will actually start playing. The shuffle function is messed up (if I'm playing a tracklist of 38 songs, it will only shuffle a few of them and just keep looping through those few tracks).etc etc My contract is almost up and I was hoping that all the negative stuff I had heard about iOS6 would have been resolved by now so that I could confidently by the next iphone, but at this rate, I'll be ditching Apple's phone entirely.
Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone. 1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker they can hear me fine. 2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset. 3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.
My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iphone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?
Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up. When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris
iphone 5 not catching 3g network automatically have to select the carrier manually.Need advice is there a problem with the iOS 6.1.4 as this problem has stated only after updating to this firmware.
Hey. My iphone 5 is currently on firmware 6.0.2 and there is an apparent green glow in the lower parts of the lockscreen when I unlock the phone and it gets more prominent if the phone has been unlocked after a longer time. The glow is a lot like the screenshot of other users facing the same problem. Now, I saw that everyone was getting it fixed by asking for a replacement. My problem is, the phone was bought in the UK and I am currently in Bangladesh where there are no official Apple stores. How should I ask for a replacement and what should be the procedure for it? Really would appreciate some help in this matter
Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. Please can someone help... model a1332
After the firmware to 6.1.3 no longer see the network. Help! <Edited By Host>
Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iphone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working. After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either. The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages. When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services, but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage, can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!! ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings, switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

I have been racking my brain with a wifi issue with my iphone 4s. I cannot toggle the wifi switch to on to allow the phone to search for wifi networks. It seems like an issue with the hardware in the phone. I have done numerous backups and restore to factory settings but the phone refuses to wipe out the existing wifi adress set into the phone and the only way to change this is through the on off function in the phone which I cannot switch on.I cannot restore back to older firmware as even on factory reset it uses 6.1.3 as the OS. I figure this is an apple issue with the phone and needs to be taken back? Barney
My phone is still on the iOS 5.1.1 will updating it to the most recent firmware delete anything? I can't back up my phone to my computer because it's already taken by my brothers phone.
Hi folks, Great news a month ago about HBO Go's support of Airplay in-app. However, whenever I try to stream content to my Apple TV, I only receive video. I'm using the latest Apple TV firmware (5.2.1) and an iphone 4s with 6.1.3. Oddly enough the HBO "Intro" video standard on this application will stream with audio, but main features never have audio. Likewise, Other applications supporting Airplay (Youtube, etc.) will successfully stream both video and audio to the Apple TV. Any idea what's going on? Thanks so much!
I recently quit my job. When i worked there I was using an iphone 5 but had to give it up when I left. I have an iphone 4s and wanted to backup my first phone on to this one. 1) I backed up my iphone 5 to itunes.2) I plugged in my iphone 4s and couldnt do a restore because the firmware was out of date. It instructed me to do it as a new phone and then do a buckup. So I set it up as a new phone.3) Updated firmware on 4s4) Restored phone to my iphone 5 backup. Now everything went well except Im missing some apps. So I have 2 questions: Q1) What apps come with the iphone 4s, what I cant get out of the app store? Q2) How do I get them back? I am missing iTunes and Music already that I know of and I want to use the phone for music of course. Thanks, the help would be great
Hello, I have just bought my new iphone 5, 6.1.3 and my Maps does not work and stays in blank evereythink. Is this a problem of nes firmware?
Pls have this to pay attention for. If this is a hardware problem, what must be done to repair it? If that's a bug, when shall A.guys have a fix for that.BTW, may that be a problem actually linked to Bluetooth connectivity in the first turn? Bluetooth connectivity option is constantly "trying to determine it's state" (BT option setting shows "busy" running circle instead of on/off state), and after it finally gets to off state there appears to happen some change to wifi option behavior. Once it had even started back for an hour, but fell back to disabled soon afterwards. At least both these problems appeared together at the same time. All possible resets, firmware restores and 6.0.1 did not fix that. Shall I need to jailbreak the OS to fix it? And btw, the whole situation already ran a lot of people into high spendings for their 2g/3G overwhelming cellular data traffic. Apple to apologize for that at least? Or shall there be iphone 6 and the problem would remain unfixed and unnoticed?

I purchased a factory unlocked 64gb a1428 iphone 5 last November for use on T-Mobile's network. It is my understanding that there were no hardware changes between the at&t a1428 and the upcoming T-Mobile a1428, as the Qualcomm radio is firmware upgradeable. I understand that there will not be a user friendly flash upgrade (I wouldn't trust an enduser to administer a firmware update that can permanately brick their phones), So I was wondering if those of us with factory unlocked phones would be able to have the upgrade done at an apple support center?
iphone new 8 days, light sensor responds to light normally
I bought a brand new, un-locked iphone 5 in December directly from Apple.. It is now only partially compatible with the T-Mobile network it's been on since it's original power on. *** ????? In T-Mobile's announcement today, they indicated that Apple was building a 'special' version just for them. They also said I would have to go buy a brand new iphone 5 to get the new 1700 band... NOT!!! Can the existing, iphone 5 be updated via firmware, to be compatible with he T-Mobile 1700 band network ???? Thanks in advance...
ihvae a new iphone 5 with 6.0.2 firmware 7 im try to restore it to 6.1.2 firmware but im getting the above error firmware is not comptiblae

Hello! I have an iphone 4 that needed it's software to be updated to the latest version. I've downloaded the latest iTunes to my computer and connected my iphone to it. A pop-up prompt let's me know that there is a newer software version available to which I click "Update." After downloading the software, the prompts are letting me know that it's "Backing Up iphone." That is as far as I can get when trying to update. Usually the "status bar" will be slowly moving (letting you know the progress thus far) but in this case it doesn't. All it says is "Backing Up iphone," and that's as far as it goes. My phone hasn't been updated and I am stuck at square 1. I am not able to download certain apps because I need a the latest firmware. If I restore my phone, then try updating will it work? I'm afraid to do that simply because if I rid my apps will I be able to download them again? I don't understand why the phone cannot get passed the "Backing Up" part. Please help.
Hi, I have an iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) and a new iPad (third generation), and both devices are connected to my WiFi network. My AirPort Express runs firmware 7.6.3 and its wireless security is set to WPA2 Personal with radio mode 802.11n (b/g compatible). I cannot precise when I first notice the problem. Not sure if was before the AirPort Express update or some iOS firmware update. The problem is that my iphone 5 WiFi is deadly slow. It's virtually impossible to download an app from the AppStore or sync Rdio songs. My iPad's WiFi (and my wife's) is working as expected, though. Things I've tried so far: - I've changed my AirPort Express security to WEP- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n 5GHz- I've reseted the Network Settings- I've tried to download apps using other 802.11n connection (at my parent's)- I've tried to download apps using a "unsecure" network- I've restored my iphone 5 to 6.1.2 using iTunes (setting it as a new iphone) I have no idea what to do next... EDIT: - I also did some tests with the Airplane mode ON, just to make sure the iphone was connected to and using the wifi connection to download the apps and sync Rdio songs.
I just got the 5 today, and now I'm trying to restore from backup of my 4S. When it first popped up I clicked restore from back up of my previous iphone, but it told me that the other phone (4S) software or firmware was too old for a backup and set up as a new iphone and restore, but I had just updated about two weeks ago. That is the first problem. The second problem is when I went into the restore backup all it pulled up on the list was my iPod. I am confused. Can anyone help me? Additional info: I am as of right now updating the 5 to see if that was the problem, but I will comment back if this was the problem or not.
Hello everyone, I've got an iphone 4 from a friend. The phone does not show the IMEI nor any modem/baseband firmware version. He plugged it off during the update process.I wanted to restore it with iTunes, but this does not help. Is there any possibility to recover it or install a complete new iOS 6.1.2 on it and have 3G and WiFi running? iTunes says, the phone is broken. There was no jailbreak installed. Thanks in advance. Kind regards,Kev
Hi experts, need some help. I've had my iP4 for 2 years now, mostly trouble free. Recently my sounds have "mostly" stopped working and I just can't figure out why. I've done a lot of troubleshooting so here is what the symptoms are: - Volume up/down buttons do not work, nothing happens when pressed- Silent switch does not work, nothing happens when switched- Lock sound does not happen- Phone does not ring (only vibrates)- Phone does not alert or chime - Some apps audio does not work, but most apps play audio fine (youtube, music, videos, most games, etc)- When selecting ring-tone or alert sounds I can hear the sound, so the speaker is working fine Here is what I've tried- check all settings and switches, certainly not a setting issue- cleaned the dock connector with a brush, it is very clean- cleaned headphone jack, and insert/remove headphones multiple times- wiped all settings and restored to factory settings- updated to latest ios6 firmware- deleted "com.apple.iapd.plist" file using iexplorer, did nothing Seems like I'm just about out of options now! Thanks for any help.
by mistake i deleted cydia now i want to reinstall and restore the iphone in itunes. it started restore but while installing it firmware the error comes and it started again. i am tired of it. I also upgraded itunes.
I just want to make clear I did following, I follow all articles regarding error (-1) in apple support.Updated itunes, Turn off windows firewall, Paused my antivirus, Checked host file, itunes diagnostic test,LAN connections, andTried whole process in 2 different Windows 7 pc. Restore process:Before I update to the new iOS 6.1.2, I tried using my wifi connection and it's pretty slow and not able to do it, so I downloaded iOS 6.1.2.After connect my iphone 5 to my pc, I put it on DFU mode by pressing home and power button together and it appears in recovery mode. I already downloaded iOS 6.1.2, so just holding Shift key and Browse iOS 6.1.2 start restoring my iphone 5. But at the very end it shows error (-1) and interrupt and my iphone again shows iTunes logo. Now I can't go out of DFU mode or update to the latest iOS. It's a brand new phone. It just showing itunes logo. Please help me to fix this issue. While I did the Network Connectivity Tests, I found:Secure link to iTunes Store failed. Summary:Windows Firewall is off.Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to iphone activation server was successful.Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful. The network connection timed out.Connection attempt to Gracenote server was successful. I tried everything but those two error got never fixed.
Hi there I’m experiencing issues with my iphone 4 – it seems to be searching all the time and does not reflect my service provider I did some research and it seems that this is a software issueAfter a while my iphone brings up an error that says I need to restore, however my restore is never successful and this could be due to many issues In the process of doing a restore, 75% of the way on my phone and on iTunes it says "restoring iphone firmware" it freezes over there and "error -1" pops up on iTunes I'm using Mac I also tried it on windows which doesn't work Kindly assist me
Hello, Question just updated to 6.0.2 the maximum battery life I'm receiving is 3 hours what is going on.
plzz sggst me wid proper suggestion.. i have iphone 3gs with ios 6.0.1.........plz email me at zubykhan2010@yahoo.com
My original firmware on my unlocked 4s iphone was 5.1.1. On that firmware I had good call quality, battery life was decent (approx 2days) and generally the phone behaved itself. Then 2 weeks ago I upgraded to iOS 6.1 and I started gettting bad battery drain and the phone needed charging on a daily basis.... Also, there was no change to the call quality and the phone did not drop calls. Then yesterday I upgraded to 6.1.1 - What a mistake that was. Battery life is still as bad as 6.1 if not worse..... In 15hrs the phone is at 20% and has only been lightly used. More worrying is the call quality. For me, the call quality has degraded. I have twice now experienced a cross call! And on three maybe four occasions when I dial a number, I have experienced call break up so bad that I have had to end the call and redial. The call break up sounds as though one is in a tunnel and there are echos and the voice just degrades into unaudible interference..... My conculsion from this is that iOS 6.1 to 6.1.1 has fundamentally altered the way my phone performs and I am not pleased at all. Surely the performance of a phone should not degrade as a result of an iOS update? Apple, please kindly sort this out as it's embarassing....
I installed 6.1, and now I can't connect to WiFi (the slider for on/off is just greyed out in settings under WiFi). Also, the screen turns off at random, reboots to apple icon every 5 seconds or so, sometimes i get lucky and device boots into the OS! wow.I want off this crazy merry go round. how do i restore to an earlier firmware, without a backup? I downloaded what I thought was a correct ipsw file for the 4S, but... I got a dlg box saying it couldn't install it...
Hi,I have recently upgraded to IOS 6.1 and had some problems. I shall detail them as they happened. I used iTunes to update my iphone 4 from 5.1.1 to 6.1. This didn't work and it got stuck in recovery mode.I then went for a full restore to the new firmware which was successful.I restored my phone from a backup that was made only hours before only for there to be no change to the phone. No settings, contacts, messages, photos, app settings appeared on the phone. (The restore completed with no error messages) Confused, I synced a couple of times only to have all my apps appear but still with no data and no other settings. I restored again assuming there was a problem with the install. Same thing. I deleted the downloaded firmware and got a clean version from itunes. Restored, same thing. I was worried I had lost all my data and the backup was useless so I purchased a 'iphone explorer software' to analyse my itunes backup. It seemed ok, everything was there.I then check the file system on the phone and it looks like the restore has completed successfully as all the files are in the device backup folders. I still have no access to my contacts, messages or any settings/user info. What can I do to rectify this? Have I missed something?
