iphone 5 Rear Microphone

Hello, There appears to be an issue with my iphone 5's rear camera microphone. When recording video it causes white noise and I can barely hear any audio at all. To diagnose the fault I phoned myself and put music on. I could hear the music fine without loudspeaker, I then switched on loudspeaker while the screen was facing upwards (to test the front facing mic) and it was fine, once I turned the phone upside down, the audio cut out. To ensure that my desk wasn't just blocking my front facing mic, I switched loudspeaker off and then turned it back to face up, then again to face down and then switched loudspeaker back on. Unfortunately it confirmed that was the fault. I have recorded voice memos and front facing videos with no issue, but when using the rear camera I still have the same fault. I have cleaned out the small opening for the mic and haven't caused my phone any damage, so I can't understand why this would happen? Has anyone else had this issue? Will I have to have my entire phone replaced, the whole rear camera or just the microphone? Are there any fixes I can perform myself? Thanks,Ross

iphone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

Hello, I've had my iphone 4S since July 2012 and am currently on a 2 year contract with EE in the UK. I've been having a problem for about a week now that came to my attention about last Friday.  Basically whenever I dial a number and someone picks up the phone and I begin talking, nobody can hear me? They won't hear me say anything and will simply hang up, I've recalled this happening to several people but I wasn't sure if there was a genuine fix or whether it merited getting a new handset? I've considered taking to direct to EE because the nearest Apple Store is in Manchester, and I only want to travel there if I have good reason to. Is there any known fix for this? i have tried resetting my phone by holding both buttons but have yet to do a full restore (Last resort) Just wondering if anyone knows? -Matt

iphone 4s Water damage. earpods work but no speaker

I dropped it in water.. for the third time. The speakers do work, when i activate siri it works and registers my voice, and earphones work aswell. Sometimes the volume slider will show up, but goes away in seconds. I restored phone, riced it overnight, used credit card to try and clean out the ports and q-tip in headphone jack. What else is there to do to fix this?!

This has been going on for a while now. It did have some sort of hot and cold phase. E.g. one day the speaker for Siri works then the next it doesn't. But now it doesn't work completely. It's been really bugging me.  I've been hearing a lot of rumours that the iphone 5 has had loads of technical problems. Such as, delivered broken and certain other things that do not work. Knowing if this is true, I do not know. However, the iphone still works when I am on the phone to people.  People have suggested to me to restore my phone to factory settings. I have backed it up onto my PC, then did a full restore, then restored my backup. Still, did not work. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should do, please could you let me know. Thank you, Sean.

Phone volume low. iphone 4S

My phone volume is very low only for calls. I use the Voxer walkie talkie app and the ear piece volume is loud, but as soon as I make a call or listen to a voice mail, the volume is near mute as max volume. Any solutions?!

I have an iphone 5... I cannot make calls or receive calls. I reset network settings and  I have reset the SIMS card and I am still having the same problem.  My husband is on the same cell service as I am and he is not having any problems.    When I try to make a call - it goes directly to call ended - when people try to call me it goes directly to my voice mail. on the left hand side at the top all it says is seraching - my wifi is connected... i also keep getting NO Service..  Can anyone help? Thanks

Turn off everything except GPS iphone 5

I have a CDMA iphone (Verizon), and I frequently hike using an app that tracks my route with GPS. However, the battery drains completely in 3-4 hours partly because the phone is looking for a cellular network. I tried turning on Airplane Mode, but that also disables the GPS. Of course, I have turned off cellular data and bluetooth, but the phone keeps looking for a cellular (voice) network. I have checked forums and people with GSM phones simply remove the SIM card, but I can't do that since I have a Verizon phone. Is there any way to turn off the battery-draining search for a cellular network when I am in remote areas?

I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s.  It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen.  Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago.  I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone.  It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off.  Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps.  I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered.  This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging.  I took it to the Apple store.  They tried to do the same restore I had.  The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo.  The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off.  The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me.  The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture.   Any suggestions?

I have an iphone 4 and recently purchased very good golf coaching app. However being vision impaired I have trouble viewing videos in app. I got an HDMI plug n play adaptor and cable but all I get on my TV when I plug them in voice

When I plug my phone into the adaptor and connect to the TV via the HDMI cable I can hear the voice from the videos but I get no picture. Perhaps there is a special HDMI adaptor for the iphone 4. My daughter has a 4s and the adaptor works perfectly with her phone. Any suggestions?

HD voice not working although supported by operator iphone 5

I upgraded from 3GS to 5 recently.My operator supports HD voice calling.When I tried it from my iphone 5 to any other phone which supports HD voice, it was just regular call.In order to test we we in the same place several persons with HD voice devices with the same operator.Between other devices it was OK.Putting others SIM cards into my phone didn't help. What else can I check? Any indicators, settings etc.?Is it iOS 6.1.3 which is installed or device itself?Wha could be done? Thanks for asnwering.

Problems deleting voice Memo s iphone 3G

Hello!Im new to the forum but after looking through the forums relating to this issue and trying everything suggested i still have a problem with deleteing voice memo's! The problem:My iphone has no music songs, videos etc on at all only apps and photos. I recently restored from back up but chose to add my songs manually but before i even got that far the voice memo's playlist was already on my iphone and 123 voice memo's are on the phone and are also in the "music" section of the iphone, these voice notes are from last year! I have deleted all voice memos from the app itself and also deleted all voice memos from itunes itself and then sync'd but these voice memos remain! Itunes wont let me delete the voice notes from the iphone through itunes whether that be though the playlist or through the music tab and as they dont show up anywhere on the phone im out of ideas!  Has any one got a solution? its driving me insane and its over 2GB of voice notes and i think its contributing to my 3.5GB of "other"! Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this has been covered before! Thanks RinaRoo

Hello.I have the following issue with my iphone 5 16 gb. Sometimes when I try to call somebody instead of normal call sounds (tones) I hear very load metal sounds and can hardly hear any voices.This issue is not a regular one, it appears sometimes and absolutely randomly, with different people, different phones and carriers.It is really frustrating, because for the phone the most important thing is call quality.  Please comment if you have this issue too. Is it possible to replace my phone by Apple? I don't have any special apple care, just a standard 1 year limited warranty.Thank you.

iphone 4 semi white screen help

I bought my iphone around August of last year, by december it was flickering.. asking my brother the tech geek what was wrong, he said it was probably the LCD shorting out and would probably die, but could last for months like that. By January, it was out, you can still see a change int he screen when you hit the home button and the home screen changed to the search screen... but i cant see anything else... it still works fine, i use voice control to call out.. and you can run your finger along the bottom of the screen to accept incoming calls.... ive even accidentally turned on apps and the like by touching the screen... Thinking apple wouldnt replace this, because they might assume i caused it.. my brother bought a new LCD/Screen for it... it hasnt worked.. so he took his own phone apart and placed my OLD screen/lcd to his.. it works fine on his phone.. what could be causing this white screen, considering its not the LCD.. and how can i fix this problem?? i REALLY dont want to replace a brand new phone..... again.

I'm not sure what's going on but after I updated my OS to 6.1.3 Siri hasn't been able to detect a voice signal (the pic of the mic doesnt even fluctuate like it hears noise). voice to text also doesn't work. I have restarted it and when that didnt work I restored to factory settings. Is there a known issue with this? I have tried everything even made test calls while speaking very quietly and have had zero issues with being heard. I'm leaning tword a software issue because the mic works fine for calls and my phone is perfect... Anyone else having an issue or know of a fix?

help!!! i have always been a fan of apple, had numerous iphones & ipods, at some point these have been broken and ive repaired cause apple take so long! my 4s was stolen so i bought a 16gb 4 GSM from a friend, i had it matter of 30mins max and dropped it, smashed front glass/digitizer! so i replaced it with oem parts, before the home button was fine! but now when i press the home button it sticks down and then voice control comes up if it dont stick down it doesnt work at all so i press it a few times to sorta force it to work and then multitasking comes up, i litterally cant get back to the springboard unless i turn phone off then on again! ive taken the phone appart clean the HB connections and clean the HB itself but problem still there!! can anyone help?? will i need a new home button or is there a way to fix this?

Hi team,              I am using i phone 4s from past one year ,home button is not working for that I am using Associative touch option from 4 months onward .Recently getting the problems,  voice control open automatically fro that  going the calls ,playing music in lock mode and unlock mode, when i try to lock the phone it was taking photo of screen  , Application screen also moving up and down and some times mobile also struck. For this problem I restore with i tunes and updated the latest version of iOS 6.1.3 but still the problem remains same, can you give the solution for this .

Why doesn t Apple make it possible to deactivate voice Control iphone 3G

voice control is really annoying. I really wish I could turn it off. But I can't. Supposedly I can turn off some of the things voice control does (with limited success) but I can't disable it completely even though I really want to. Really. And a lot of other people want to, too, if the forums are anything to go by.  Problems include:- Accidental activation (yes, triple click home is turned off, and yes I have a passcode)- Accidental calling people. The last time this happened I was asleep and I must have accidentally leant on my phone. Somehow it interpreted my breathing as "Facetime (friend's name)". That person lives in another country. It was the middle of the night. Could apple please reinburse me for this ridiculous nighttime overseas call? I also discovered that disabling voice calling with the passcode option doesn't disable facetime. Why not?- Accidentally playing music. This is really awkward especially in quiet serious places when your pocket or handbag starts to sing. There is NO WAY to stop this happening. My phone is on silent!! Still, voice control makes the beep beep noise and plays music when some accidental pressure touches the button. Last time was during a work meeting. If I get fired because of apple...- It hears things I don't say, and doesn't understand what I do say. To the best of my knowledge, I don't say "Facetime (complicated Indian name)" in my sleep. Seriously. But "Next song" should be simple enough! ATTENTION APPLE SOFTWARE ENGINEERS!! Please make an "off" option!! Surely it is a simple thing that will make millions happy. There are a LOT of discussions on the Support Communities about this. Please do something about it. There is a very simple solution, whereby people can choose if voice Control is something they want to use or not. Please. Pretty please with sugar on top.

How I sync voice memos from an iphone 4s to my PC

i plugged in my phone via usb to my computer and then i authorised the computer for the phoneand now, I want to transfer the voice memos from my phone to my computer so that I can listen to it therehowever whenever i click sync it says that i've synced the phone with another computer and the only way to sync is to erase everything on my phone which obviously defeats the purpose of me transferring my voice memos to my comp. how can i change the settings or whatever to get the memos to my computer and allow me to sync without erasing everything?is there any way without having to download some sketchy app to help me? i just want to change the settings of my phone to sync with this computer and still have my voice memos.  any help would be greatly appreciated

Why my voice memos notes disappear iphone 3G

Suddenly to my horror today when I check my voice memos playlists most of my voice memos are gone from my iphone. I did not tweak around with my iphone or itunes. I backup my iphone regularly to my itunes PC and the voice memos are still in my itunes Library, but they are not in my iphone anymore. What's going on? And how do I transfer back the voice memos from my PC to my iphone?My ipad is also experiencing notes disappearing by itself in the couple of months, which I've never had a problem after years of using it. But I have a Notes Folder in my email account which still have the lost notes. I can't figure out why. Please help

I have just bought a Hyundai i40 sedan and can not get my i phone 5 to work.  I have been able to pair it but am unable to make or receive a call.I did insert a CD and it was playing and briefly I might add very briefly I was able to hear an indistinct voice.  also the blue tooth music stick wont work in the U.S.B. port and did in the previous car.

My iphone 5 suddenly lost its audio function. There is no sound from the speakers: no music, podcasts, ring, ringtones, game sounds, etc. Rings from incoming calls do not sound. voice mail cannot be heard. When I speak to someone via the phone they hear me, but I cannot hear them while using the phone's speaker.When using the audio-out jack I DO hear sound. Also, the phone's vibrate feature works.This loss of audio occurred suddenly while I was speaking at a desk, not moving. I then checked the Apps, and I found I could not hear their audio output from the phone's speaker. I could only hear their output from the audio-out jack. I have restarted the iphone 5 several times. I restored the software on the iphone 5.  I am using IOS version 6.1.2 (10B146). Has anyone had a similar phenomenon? Any suggestions to resolve this problem?
