Hi,my iphone 3GS upgraded to 4.01 OS has the same problem of many other phones , the message reported in the subject.With this message the phone hasnt audio speakers and can only be used with headphones or similarAfter reading many many similar post in Italy and in this Discussione Forum I made some test.First at all I have to say that my phone got wet during a traking trip on the mountain this summer! Peaty!Now I know that there is a red spot that mark the phone to prevent Apple to fix problems due to customer, and this is rightBut I made some test 1.Using the voice recorder that has a control that can select speaker or headphones, if you select speaker the audio goes, even with the message, and if you use another application in multitasking way this goes even too2.If you select this second application alone, it doesnt go.3.When you unlock the phone the volume control goes but after a few seconds it desappear.When the volume control is on the display the audio goes but till the message pop up.All those test show us that the hardware is ok but is the software that treats some internal trigger in a bad wayI ask to Apple an help to solve this problem otherwise coustomer will be unable to use iphone in a right way with a marketing damage even for Apple itself Acer X50G Windows Vista

iphone 4 wont lock during phone call without disconnecting call

When I get a call, I like to lock the phone and then put it in my pocket while I talk on my headset. Locking prevents me from hanging up or pressing any annoying buttons while on the phone. My sister also likes to lock the phone when her husband calls so that she can let her 2 year old daughter talk to her dad without hanging the phone up or pressing a lot of buttons. I assume this is something that can be fixed with a software update. Is there any push to change this??? iphone 4 iOS 4

Used it this morning & was fine. went to update apps & while it was doing that i got the low battery sign so i put it on the charger. Now it wont even power up. Ive left it on the charger, ive pushed the home & power off button & all i get is the dark screen with the apple insignia. it never gets past that. I also tried to sync it with my itunes & it doesnt recognize it either. im no longer in my one year support time & i just dont know what to do. im not that tech savvy. i also tried a while back to update my software to the OS4 before i knew of of all the problems it was causing with the 3G. does anyone out there have any suggestions for me? iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.3

Cant upgrade to OS4 iphone 3G

My wife has a iphone 3G. I have been trying to upgrade it to the OS4 software. It starts the back up process, then it freezes. This is after the phone has already been backed up. Transfer SMS from old to new iphone

I have a new iphone, but during initial setup I did not restore from a backup but chose to do a clean setup. Now I want to move my SMS text messages stored in the old iphone to my new iphone. I identified the file where the messages are stored (3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28 .mddata) but replacing it in a backup of the new iphone and then restoring doesnt help (restore error).How can I manage to have my old messages on my new iphone? Any help to the above or a software tool somewhere?? (there are many to backup but here it is to also transfer!) MBP Core2Duo 2.8 Mac OS X (10.6.3) 4GB RAM

Phone will not boot iphone 3G

Hope someone can help as Im out of ideas and googling ability. My wife got her phone out of her bag on Fri, and it was stuck on the Apple logo. Now it was working fine an hour before as I had rung her on it, and shed just put it away, so she hadnt been updating software, apps etc.Firstly I hard booted it, nothing. Then I put it into Recovery mode, ITunes saw it and allowed me to restore 4.0.1. It rebooted after it finished, but still stuck at the apple logo. I then tried again using DFU mode, same thing. Using irecovery, I was able to view the iboot loader, had 15 reboots and 1 panic reboot if that means anything. Im out of ideas, and typically, the phone is two weeks out of warranty. Upgrading to iOS 4 breaks with error-402636802 iphone 3G

Im trying to upgrade my iphone 3G to iOS 4. iTunes detects that a new iphone version is available. After the software has been downloaded I click Update. iTunes then starts backing up my iphone. After 20 approx. 20 mins I see the following error message:An error occurred while backing up this iphone (-402636802). Would you like to continue to update this iphone without backup? Continuing without backup will result in the loss of all content on this iphone.Loosing all context is not an option. I have quite a few apps that I dont want to loose. Help I Phone wont work now iphone 3G

I just downloded the new 4.0 software update for my phone and it uploaded onto my phone with no problems. But now, when the restore phone process started (loading APPS) Itunes froze and then an error message saying it could not connect w my phone popped up. I reset my phone and I cant get passed a screen that has the Apple logo on it and a status bar. Something starts to download, but then it freezes and reboos itself. While it is doing that Itunes freezes and becomes unresponsive. I did a master restore and it will not get passed this sceen. What do I do? Please help! Toshibe Windows XP

I am sure this is not new, but my iphone 3G was great until I loaded the latest software update about two weeks ago. I love the mini icons etc., but the phone is SO slow now. Typing, getting email, activating Apps etc. I am in the process of restoring my factory defaults, as I am so unhappy with the new software. Have there been issues when restoring the factory software? WiFi network joined not used iphone 3G

Ive got an iphone 3G running OS 3.1.3 (Im not about to bring on all that 4.0 ****)My Settings->Network->Wi-Fi pane shows that the phone has joined my LAN, shows the proper name and 5 bars. But, whether or not I have enabled 3G, the wi-fi bars never appear at the top of the phone panel. It always connects via 3G or AT&T. Wi-Fi was working recently (not sure when this problem arose, but I recall having joined the LAN within the past few weeks or so).What could cause this? Hardware, software, some setting? My iphone has been acting up. I recently bought it and it has the new 4.0.1 software on it. The bottom speakers only play ringtones, and I can hear people on the phone just fine, and talk back to them. BUT, I cannot listen to music out loud through the phone, and youtube videos volume doesnt work, and app or keyboard volume isnt present either. Is this all because of the new OS? Freezing when trying to backup-shows adding files and then processing iphone 3G

Im having an issue when backing up my phone. I currently have 4.0.1 on my iphone 3g and when I hook up to itunes to back up it goes thru the normal steps until it gets to syncing bookmarks. It then pops open a new window that says adding files and inside says processing: 20100202 103854 1.m4a or processing 20091212 200447.m4a. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and all apple software thinking it may have been an issue with the latest upgrade but that hasnt helped. I have to shut down itunes completely because it shows as not responding. Please help, anyone know how to fix? Toshiba Windows Vista

freeze during iOS upgrade just prior to software verification iphone 3G

Hi,Im posting this in a few forums to see if I can find an answer. Heres the deal:Both my iPad and iphone 3G freeze at the exact same place while performing the upgrade to iOS 4.0.1..freeze just prior to verification of software on devices. What this means to me is that I have to recover them..I tried on my Mac Pro several times, rebooted the machine etc...no luck. So just prior to calling Apple, I thought, what the hay, Ill try it on the iMac...both devices screamed through the process and upgraded/restored/recovered without a hitch. Brought them back to Pro and restored my old settings..fine.Why?The only difference with iTunes is that the Mac Pro has all of my music/videos/tvshows...the iMac is basically a clean slate iTunes.Any suggestions...I dont want to reinstall iTunes on my Pro.thxshaun 1 Mac Pro, 1 Mini, 2 iMacs, 1 MBPro, 2 Nanos, 2 Video iPods, 2 iPhones Mac OS X (10.6.4)

iOS 4.0.1 breaking my 3G iphone

I ran through a full charge on my battery today in less than 4 hours........while the phone was in STANDBY mode.My phone is taking twice as long to perform tasks as it was with 3.1.3 and freezes and crashes much more frequently.Why doesnt Apple allow me to downgrade to a working piece of software instead of forcing me to use a broken piece of garbage?Why doesnt Apple allow me to restore a current backup (taken from 4.0.1 iOS) to a phone in 3.1.3?Your software restrictions are breaking my phone and my user experience has dropped to an all time low because of it.Are these battery and performance problems going to be addressed in future releases or are you just going to slowly break my 3G until I am forced to buy a new phone? damaged iphone message after attempted upgrade to 4.0 3G

I have a legally unblocked iphone 3g bought 2 years ago in Russia. (I am actually from USA but spend most of my time working in developing countries outside of the US) I have always upgraded my software through itunes and never had a problem with it re-activating. I have lived and worked in several countries and use the same phone with several different sim cards. I never had a problem. Now I am based in China and have been using a sim card from China Mobile for the past 2 months. Today I decided to upgrade the OS 4.0, and upon completion I get the message: There is a problem with your iphone. Were sorry, the iphone you connected maybe be damaged and cannot be activated for service. We recommend you visit your nearest Apple store for more information. Yeah right... I live in a city called Harbin and an Apple Store nearby is only in my dreams... This message is like putting salt in my wound... I tried putting back the 3.1.3 OS and it still gives me the same message. Basically it appears my iphone that was working perfectly before the upgrade is now ruined. I am so disappointed. 3GS phone screen goes to black too quickly iphone

When I am on a phone call, the phone screen goes to black almost immediately....within one or two seconds at best. I dont have time to switch to any of the option (keypad, etc) before this happens. Other than this, my phone works perfectly. I cant find a way to set the screen-blanker time for the phone. I have upgraded to the latest software, but it doesnt seem to make a difference.Anybody know how to do this? iphone 3GS

No sound through earpiece iphone

I recently purchased an iphone 3g from ebay and am getting no sound through the earpiece when I make or receive calls and have to use headphones or speakerphone, the ebay seller has excellent reviews and is trying to help resolve to issue but I am unsure as to whether this is a software or hardware issue, all other sounds work fine and the earpiece was working when it left the seller, could this be from the ios4 update as I have tried all of the fixes such as unplugging and plugging in earphones ect. iphone 3g iOS 4

I wish I hadnt bothered with 3.0 iphone 3G

Since the update here are my problems, anyone else experiencing these?1) Phone takes ages to boot up, get a black screen and wait for longer than the 2.02 software for the iphone to restart. Even after I did a complete restore.2) iphone very sluggish, especially with the search tool.3) I understand that 3rd party developers need to make their apps 3.0 compliant but I have too many apps that now crash on launch.4) Odd effects whilst watching online video (YouTube), videos that were fine before now plays twice as fast.5) WiFi connectivity very weird, connections that worked fine before now dont connect unless I go to settings and find them again. Some do connect then suddenly drop the connection whilst browsing Safari is not connected to the internet.6) The general feel of the phone is somewhat slower and the battery life has certainly decreased for me.I so wish I could go back to 2.02 - any advice here is much appreciated. I have trawled through pages of posts here asking how to do this but its all a bit convoluted. Im trying to update my iphone 3 with my iMac computer. When I click update I keep getting two pop ups. The first one says:There are purchased items on the iphone Tiffany iphone that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iphone. Are you sure you want to continue?I have synced my phone in every way possible to my computer and it keeps telling me this. When I hit continue to go ahead and ignore this warning the next pop up says this:Updating to iOS 4.0.1 will delete all media including iTunes Store purchases. To preserve your media, apply this update to the computer where you sync music, videos and photos. Updating on this computer will only preserve apps, contacts, calendars, text messages, and other settings. Since a few days I have a new iMac. Almost everything is working fine, no problems. But for my iphone (3G): it doesnt appear in iTunes. I removed iTunes, following instructions on the apple support site, downloaded it again, after which iTunes recognised the iphone once. Next time I started computer and connected the phone, the same problem. I called the apple supportcentre, no help there. I called the telephone company and was advised to do a soft reset on the phone and reset the netword settings, which I did. But no change. Been having problems with my iphone 3G ever since i updated the software and finally went into the store today to speak with someone.Firstly, i was told that the software isnt for the iphone 3G and that it says this in the small print - my question then is why does it prompt you to install the new software?! surely apple are clever enough to make sure it doesnt install new software on phones that are not compatible!?Second, once I spoke to someone else he advised that it was a common problem and as yet they havent got a solution?! So i am just meant to carry on with a substandard product that is continually dropping calls, not allowing me to hang up calls, behaving really slow and interfering with my business?!They told me a phone restore would help and sent me away, Ive done this twice now and it didnt and it is still playing up. Dont waste your time if they have told you to do that. It doesnt work.Usually you get great service from apple but they have really dropped the ball... why would they allow for a software update to 3G phones if it slows it down and messes up your product?!My phone contract is up for renewal next month and was going to get the new iphone 4 despite the problems but may now opt for a Blackberry... Keypad active intermittently during calls when using phone as handset iphone

I just switched my phone (iphone 4) due to problems with the keypad/audio source being active during calls, basically I am sometimes able to dial or switch modes with my face even on the new phone. My Open Letter to Steve Jobs Apple iphone 3G

Dear Mr. Jobs,I wish to congratulate you in your ability of rejuvenating the Apple brand over the past decade. The first computer my family ever purchased was an Apple IIc. My school computers were always Apple hardware. However, for most of my adult life I’ve been a PC and never owned a post iMac Apple product but always envied those around me. When I have to work in the Computer labs on EKU Campus, I choose Mac. Because of this long distance love affair, I received my first iphone as a gift, and my view of Apple as a company and a brand has dramatically changed. In 2007, I was given an iphone (8 GB) for Christmas from my wife; she had been secretly saving for the purchase for several months. Much to her chagrin, it failed to work out of the box. She cried and apologized all day. The AT&T store said that it was a SIM Card reader issue. When the store manager called Apple Customer Service, they explained that I had to return the phone directly to Apple with a turnaround time of approximately 10 business days. The store manager did not understand why this was necessary when they had iPhones in stock. He chose to replace the original, even though it was not company policy (January 2008).This iphone was wonderful and I showed it off to all of my friends, family, and co-workers. However, it began to develop yellow and green streaks on the screen and air bubbles under the glass plate. When I took the iphone to the Apple store in Knoxville, they apologized and happily replaced it (March 2008). Its replacement developed air bubble issues and I continued to use the phone until it was unresponsive (September 2008). I returned this phone to the Knoxville store as well and was given a replacement. Both of these phones were given to me without a box and it is my impression that they may have been refurbs or returned phones that had been restored to factory settings within the store.My fourth iphone began to have syncing issues, App refresh issues, and crashes with the OS 2.2 update. These problems continued with the 2.2.1 and 3.0 updates, it also developed air bubbles. After contacting Apple Customer Service, I was able to solve the problem, only to have them begin again after approximately 13+ usage hours. Frustrated by these failings, my wife and I called; then, emailed Apple Customer Service with a letter similar to this one. At that time, my wife received a call during the day, and she was made aware of the fact that none of the previous issues had been reported by the Knoxville store. In addition, the Apple records did not have my current phone shown as being used by an AT&T customer. Their response to the issues was a iphone 3G replacement that would cost me an additional $99 because the old one was out of date. My wife agreed not knowing that I had this same option available through an AT&T upgrade. I returned my iphone Edge to Apple; since, my wife had agreed to the trade and it did not change my upgrade schedule with AT&T. However, I was disappointed in the fact that up to this point, my wife had spent $600 on my iphone and I had yet to receive a device that worked. I mentioned this to the Customer Service rep and she seemed genuinely concerned but did not offer any additional reimbursements.When I received my current iphone 3G last June, It worked well and I was extremely happy with the OS 3 updates. However, with each update since the original, I have had to reinstall USB drivers on all three of my computer. Starting in April 2010, after an update, my iphone 3G no longer registers as a camera on any of my computers. I have reinstalled USB drivers and completed two restores. The first restore was required because of an attempted/failed sync that sent the phone into a cycle of unstoppable refreshes once the phone was unlocked. (I lost approx. 150 photos of my daughter as a result of this restore.) The iphone continued to freeze and refresh unexpectedly; so, I completed another “successful” restore.Currently, the iphone will sync with iTunes but still does not show as a proper camera. I have reinstalled all Apple software; however, this has not solved the problem. In addition to the sync/download issues, streaming podcast via wifi has become a consistent problem. It will crash 7 out of 10 times while streaming on my home network. I choose this option because I try to save space for pics since I cannot currently download onto my computer. I must say that my frustrations with the iphone have begun to ware my patience with the device and Apple as a brand. Whereas, I use to taut the abilities of my phone and the Customer Service, now I’ve become unimpressed and repeatedly lowering my expectations of performance. The convenience of being able to share digital pictures of my daughter with her grandparents has been wonderful. When it works, it is a great tool; I even convinced my in-laws to buy one. Yet the most disheartening thing was a comment my wife made after we watched the Keynote last week. She said, “What? I can’t believe they have a better phone already. Isn’t that a fourth upgrade or something? I feel like such an idiot for spending $500 on a phone that has never really worked. I should have waited.”Now, I am wondering why I even want to keep my phone. As it stands I could walk into to AT&T get a free phone, reduce my monthly phone bill, and just run my iphone 3G like an iPod Touch that sort of works. I understand hardware limitations often restrict software ability. Does this mean that Apple anticipates making their devices obsolete within two generations? If so, why were we not told this? I want to be a loyal Apple consumer. I even had visions of using my awesome iphone as way to convince my wife that we should become a Mac family. Yet, my history with this device and the current view of consumer bounce-back on iPhones, begins to worry me. As of right now, I don’t know if I want to upgrade to a new iphone 3GS let alone 4. It seems like I would just seem gullible when the next one no longer works. Part of me says cut my losses, wait out my family plan contract with AT&T, and go somewhere else. Maybe, after the iphone 6 or whatever comes out, enough of the kinks will be fixed, and it will be worth my money to purchase again. However, the rest of me, remembers writing DOS code on my family’s Apple IIc and watching the floppy disk boot. Those moments changed my life. I’ve been using and teaching with computers ever since.________________________________________________________I have contacted/emailed Gizmodo, iLounge, Engadget, TUAW, and Macworld hoping to generate a response or at least some answers about the quality control issues I mentioned in my Open Letter to Steve Jobs. Since writing the letter (06-14-10), I have completed three full restores, all of which were backup from February. The first one was prompted by an iTunes download glitch. I attempted to download two podcasts, the downloads failed and wiped my entire music catalog off of the iphone. So I decided to restore to a previous backup. While using the first restore, I belieive I may have found one possible solution to the camera issue. Picasa may be deleting info packets as it deletes pictures after downloads. I attempted to download some random pics as a test for the now working driver; then, deleted them using Picasa, like I’ve done in the past. Immediately afterward the computer no longer recognized the camera. After a second reboot (again the February backup) no problems until Itested the camera driver and it happened again. Hence a third restore was necessary. The third time I used the Windows Photo Gallery manager and deleted the pics using the iphone, no problems.It seems to be working now, but at least three phone calls were bumped directly to voice-mail during the day, two before and one after the restores. This has been a newly recurring event since about mid-May but is starting to occur more often now.This is my fifth iphone and all have had some kind of issue; bad SIM card reader, air bubbles, color streaking, or as mentioned above, repeated software crashes. Its not jailbroken nor have I ever attempted that process. Could anyone at your site tell me if my horrible history with the iphone is close to common or radically unlucky. I am thinking about updating from a 3G to the 3GS using the Radio Shack trade-in credit but am very skeptical of what I might get in return.__________________________________________________________________________It has been a month since my first set of emails went out. Yesterday, I went to the new Apple Store/Genius Bar in Lexington, KY and was told that they would order me a replacement. I dont know for sure if this will be a new one or a refurb but am skeptical. I am also wondering if it comes out of the box with iOS4 does that mean Apple is knowing hardware with faulty software. Could this be a suable offense or simply a bad business move. My deepest concern is the fact that my original letter sent to Apple has gone unnoticed.I guess what I am trying to say is, what can anyone tell me that would give me hope to stay with Apple? iphone 3G iOS 4 PC Laptop

iphone 3GS Battery with iOS 4.0.1 update

I have an iphone 3GS with the latest software update... Before I updated my software, my iphone battery was fantastic! But, then I got the software update (4.0.1) and now my battery will gradually go down, with or without being used! Why is this and what can I do to fix this? way to go back to past software version iphone

I have an iphone 3. It doesnt perform well now that Ive updated it to the lastest software. Is there a way to go back to using a past software version, like in the 3.0 range, instead of using these newer 4.0 versions? I think the 4.0 and above are just too much for my phone but I still want to keep my phone rather than upgrade it. iphone 3 Windows Vista

iphone 3G iOS4 major problems

Well, this is my first post on the forum, which i am quite new, but after reading the same issues with the iphone 3g OS4 update that i have i thought its time to speak my mind on here, rather than making severe complaints over the home landline to the Apple Support team, with the same old question they ask have you tried restoring your phone? with my answer being YES, about 5 times daily! LOLNow i have been a keen Apple user for the last 4 years, being a professional photographer using my Macbook Pro and iMac are quite the tools i need, with no problems ever (touch of wood), until... my iphone decided to die after 1 year of purchase when the IOS4 came out. Yes... my phone is the slowest thing i own sad to say! It is extremely painful to navigate around. Put it this way... my phone took about 6 minutes to just open 1 text message i received, in which i went to make a cup of coffee and to my surprise when i came back, it was still trying to open the message! The iOS4 software has killed MY 3G, and getting it back to a previous version is quite the mission too. What makes things even worse is when i back up and sync my 3G, iTunes decides to tell me that a file is missing on my iphone to complete the sync! I ask why? What is going on? So, each and every time my phone becomes slow and sluggish, a system restore and several resets have been made. When i do this, half of the contacts that are on my iphone are viewable, and half are not! Emails pop up... from months back that i have deleted, and i am talking thousands of them! When scrolling through my apps, or even just to get to the messages or Facebook, my apps vanish, and YouTube is stuck down the left side of my phone only showing half an app button! The list goes on and on, and for a while this is something i have had to put up with. I make back ups all the time, just to be safe, but it is quite the boredom to put back together when i have made a restore. I think what i am trying to say is my iphone is useless, sad to say really Oh... did i mention my iphone likes to turn off at random moments, not just in a call... but when on charge plugged into the mains?Is this a way for Apple to make their 3G and possibly the 3Gs customers upgrade to the 4?Are Apple actually looking into these problems? Makes me wonder...If anyone has a solution that does not involve jailbreaking or holding a hammer over the 3G ready for some destruction, please by all means, help all of us 3G users out.

Phone touchpad displays bizarre results iphone

Howdy,I have a first generation iphone.Yesterday, I found that I could not dial any phone number that had a zero.If I touched the zero on the keypad, the 8 became blue (as if I had touched it) and an 8 was entered on the display as if it were the number I had touched.No, this is not caused by my being fat fingered. I have been extremely careful in experimenting with all this.For a while, it seemed that the touchscreen was working properly for all functions but the phone. Then, about an hour ago, I tried to touch Settings-General but when I touch General I am brought to Mail, Contacts, Calendars which is just below General.I will add that I have restored the phone to the newest version of the software, but now strongly suspect this to be a hardware issue.The phone is long out of warrantee...Would it make financial sense to repair it, or should I just replace it?Many thanks for any thoughts,A.C. iphone iphone OS 3.1.3

Phone wont Multi-task iphone 3G

Downloaded OS4 to my wifes 3g iphone. I can create folders but I cant multi-task. If I double click on the bottom button, it takes me to the phone Favorites page instead of showing my all apps that are open. The double clicking works fine on my 3gs phone but not on my wifes 3g phone. Is this a phone hardware issue with the 3g version or the software not working right? Thanks in advance! iphone 3gs goes into recovery by itself

i recently updated software on iphone 3gs, since doig so it has been going into recovery mode by itself, tried to restore it through itunes, restore would not complete due to an error, now i cant use the phone at all, i have followed the troubleshooting to no avail, can anybody give me some advice please

iphone 3g-WiFi problem upgrade possibility

Hi guysI recently updated my 3g to iOS4 and 4.0.1. After sometime of usage my wi-fi become really weak and by the time I lost completely signal of that. I tried everything from software side, by downgrading resetting and all of this tricks without any luck. My wifi icon inside settings is not yet gray but I expect it to become after some time. I lost completely usage of the phone because accessing network was on of the main use of the phone. I went to genius bar in order to get it fixed but surprisingly I found out that they refused to change anything. They said that the only thing that they repair is the screen otherwise they change the phone for 269CHF. Thats completely crazy because I asked also for my silent switch to be changed and they refused!!!!! Then I though about changing the antenna on my own, so I bought a spare part from the internet which didnt improve the situation at all. I guess my wifi-bluetooth chip is broken and I am not willing to replace it..I dont know how to complain on that. I am a mac developer since 5 years and really addicted to their products but now its they first time that I hate this situation and how apple is handling this. I know that are posts of iphone 3g users (more than 400 replies) complaining about this and in parallel apple seems not to care at all for this.. I already submitted feedback for this.So since my option is only to change my phone does anyone knows that instead of paying some money to get a new 3g is there any option available to exchange it with some additional cost with an 3gs or 4? odd behavior with world travel charging adapter 3g iphone

I am going to Europe soon, and purchased the World Travel Adapter kit so I can charge my 3g iphone (software 4). I have tried it out here in the US, and I get some very strange behavior. I am baffled.When I plug the phone into the adapter, it seems to indicate that it is charging, but the image does not show progress like it does when i use the regular ac charger that came with the phone or with the USB connection to my computer. I can leave it for many hours and it does not show any increase in the charge. I figured the adapter was defective, so I returned it and got a replacement. Same thing happens with the new one.I accidentally stumbled on a fix...I let it charge for a couple hours and then if i reboot the phone, all of a sudden it reports being fully charged. This is nothing like the behavior I am used to with the stock US ac charger.Has anyone else had this problem, or noticed abnormal behavior like this, or am I the only one? No one on the shops seems to say anything about the software requirement, I feel cheated as they just want you to sing the dotted line on 24 months... without any warning about the system requirement. I am sure most of the people here, and im not the only one wouldnt have purchased the new iphone 4 on reflection. i open the box of the new iphone4, set the usb cable and BANG! i might as well bin it... i wont be upgrading my trusted Tiger. Visual Voicemail Problems iphone 3G

Back when we were able to download the visual voicemail on our phones, I followed the steps it said, which including restoring my phone. I did that but I had the problem where people would leave me voicemails and it would not show up. The only way I would know if their was voicemails was by holding down 1 and checking it that way. I hadnt resolved the issue. And now last night I had downloaded the new iso4 software and it is all installed correctly I thot, but when I try access my visual voicemail it says voicemail unavailable - could not authorize access. If I got into my settings and change voicemail password it does the same thing. Why am I getting this message? I am confuzed. Please help. Windows XP iOS 4
