iphone and 2009 Honda Accord Bluetooth issues

I have a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L sedan with navigation. I have successfully paired an iphone 3g with the car. Calls made from the car saying Dial and reciting a number works fine. Answering calls work fine. However, calls initiated from the iphone itself works sporadically, at best. When I initiate a call from the phone either from my contacts or dialing a number it always selects HandsFree Link as it should, since it is paired. However, I get no audio. Switching back and forth between the different audio sources does nothing. Once the call is connected, even though HandsFree Link is selected, I get no audio, but (sometimes) when I switch to iphone and back to HandsFree Link I will get audio. Needless to say, this is not a very HandsFree Link since I have to constantly be looking down at my phone to try to figure out if the call is connected, which audio source I should try to switch between, etc...By the way, in case anyone is wondering, I am running software 2.2 on the iphone 3g.My questions are:1) Has anyone gotten an iphone 3g to work properly with the Hondas Bluetooth system?2) If so, what did you do besides just pair the phone like I did?Thanks in advance for any help! I happily received my iphone last Friday and spent the weekend setting it all up. Thats where the first disappointment / frustration came in - couldnt transfer any files or contacts from my old Sony Ericsson via bluetooth. Had to spend hours setting up my contacts on my MacBook Pro so I could use the sync via iTunes. Have found that I cannot connect to any phone via bluetooth.Next frustration arose when I discovered that all the ringtones I created for my Sony (mp3 extracts of various songs) cannot be used as ringtones on the iphone. Have just found a few convoluted ways to get around this but yet to try them.Next frustration came when I couldnt forward an SMS or copy it. Found on the forum that there is some third party software to download to bypass this. Cant send or receive MMS eitherLastly I tried to pair my Jabra bluetooth stereo headset - had the same problems as others (as found out after discovering the forums). I can get it for phone usage (or voicemail at least) but not for playing music.Oh, forgot one - no FM radio! All the basic, common old features found on any new phone, but cannot do any of these on the latest. greatest. state-of-the-art phones. Absolutely love the way all the features which you CAN use operate - sensational functionality. But with so many basics that cannot be performed, I think I will (very sadly) have to take advantage of the 10-day cooling off period, and return my phone and get a later model Sony or Samsung. At least I know they do MY basics.If I have my facts totally wrong, then please let me know ASAP before I send the phone back and wait until (hopefully) later models get it right! I need to take my iphone 3g in to be replaced because im having the Wifi problem where it will say its connected, then immediately changed to 3g/Edge when i open safari.However, i do NOT want the 2.2 software for the phone. For those or you that are going to ask why I reposted this, Its because Apple keeps deleting them. What are they afraid of? What do they have to hide?And as far as sending feedback to Apple on the matter, I HAVE ...as have many, many others. I had the original iphone when it came out & now I have a 3g, & ever since the dawn of the iphone there were two major complaints from users: (1) The inability to send/recieve multimedia messages (pictures/videos), and (2) not being able to text in landscape mode (having the keyboard & screen flip when you rotate the phone on its side). Ive grown somewhat accustomed to not being able to send/recieve multimedia messages, although I WOULD like to have this feature. But what REALLY bothers me is why they cant, with one of their software updates, make the option available to turn your phone on its side & text message in landscape mode. Obviously the phone is capable of doing this because youre able to do this while using the web, & its so much more convenient to be able to type with both thumbs. This alone is cause enough for me to switch not only phones, but carriers as well, to Verizon & the new Blackberry Storm. I love how you can flip it on its side, its so much easier to text like this, with both hands. AND as an added bonus, they send/recieve multimedia messages! I have several phones on my account, & in a few months, as soon as the early termination fee on the other lines has dropped enough to make the switch worth while, thats exactly what Im going to do, unless Apple finally decides to listen to those of us who actually use their products. 2.2 update time--hanging iphone

Im trying to update to 2.2 using itunes 8. Downloaded the software and it started installing and has been running for about 30 minutes. iphone no longer shows in itunes though its still connected with USB. The device indicates that I can make an emergency call only. There is no indication of progress on the phone or in itunes. Has the install failed? How long does this take? Hi everyone i wanted to ask a question as i am concerned a little i forgot to charge my iphone 3g software v2.2 and i woke up this morning and it was dead completely and the red battery thing was on it so i plugged it in charged it for about 10 minutes because i was unning late for work and i decided i would just charge it when i got to work so it was on as i was driving and battery was low, i turned wifi off and fetch mail off and then i just decided to turn off the phone cause it looked like it was going to die again...so i got to work and turned my iphone on and it said connect to itunes like when i first bought it and i did and it said phone activated and everything worked fine becuase i take my laptop to work i can do that, but i was wondering what if i didnt have my laptop and it did that then what would i do , i used to have the original iphone and this 3g i have had for about 3-4 months and this has never happened before i dont know why it happened and i dont know if the software went bad or what its very weird is this gonna happen again, does anyone know why this happened and should i restore it or anything like that..any advice would be great thank you so much everyone MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.6) Apple iphone 3g 16G

Installing programs on iphone whith ITunes 3g

The problem started that the iphone showed that an aplication shoud be updated.While the aplication whas updating the icon showed load/wait for several days.The ITunes store at that time was availeble.After a second request for the update of three more apps, all these apps stayed in the same condition.The day after all the icons on the iphone installed from the ITunes store looked normal, but in fact they where not working.Afther starting they all returned to the main screen after one second.So all the extra apps installed by me at the iphone dident work annymore.I tryed tho solve the problem by restoring the iphone whith the system software 2.2.Afther that the apps cant be replaced.All the apps are avalible in my ITunes program.The ITune program tells me that i have no rights to install them on the iphone.On Windows XP im loged on as administrator.I am loged on in ITunes, and have an acount.My iphone is a 3g one.I have installed the ITunes 8.0.2.20 software.What can be the problem?The only way tho install the apps on the iphone is one by one.Then im still not sertain that the apps will work the next day.That wil take me another severall hours.It is already the second time this is happing.On the internet there is no expenation for this problem.Is there an other solution for this?Is there anyone who can help me whit these problems?Yellow Panda Paradigit Windows XP

when i start syncing i get the beach ball of death for about 5 minutes. then it takes about another 20 minutes to sync the phone. it turns off the manually manage music, so all my music gets wiped out. then when i try to put the music back on, it wont allow me to and it freezes again. running all the latest software. My iphone 3g display is blinking on and off every 10 seconds while its locked. Its completely draining the battery. Ive tried resetting it, restoring the software, letting the battery drain completely, and nothing helps. I took it too an apple store, and they said too bad because it shows water damage. It has NEVER gotten wet! I dont know how the indicators got triggered. Is there anything else I can do? Please help! iphone 3g

USB Charging-dead halt when computer goes dormant iphone 3g

Hello all.Ive had an iphone 3g since late August. I normally charge my phone through a USB port on my iMac. This has, until now, always produced the desired result of a fully charged phone. I recently downloaded the most current software update. Since then, when the computer goes into energy saver the charging stops. Instead of picking up a fully charged phone on my way out the door to work, its often at half or three-quarter charge. Charging resumes normally once the computer is woken.Has anyone else had this trouble? Any thoughts? Its easily solved by hooking it up to a wall socket...but Id rather leave it hooked to the Mac. Google maps for iphone whats your take 3g

Im not here to compare phones but Im new to the iphone, switched from owning a Blackberry Curve for over a year. I used my Google maps on my BB for as long as I can remember and for the most part it worked very well. I never felt the need to have a separate GPS unit in my car for those times where I needed assistance to find my way around. I never thought twice about the performance of Google Maps on the iphone because I thought it would work identical. It doesnt. I recently came back from a road trip from California to Arizona and I put my iphone to the test. I couldnt believe how awkward it was trying to navigate with it, maybe i was use to my BB or maybe the software is clunky, Im not sure.A few things that come to mind:I hate the auto zoom feature of the map. With the BB if I zoom out and scroll between turning points the map will stay put at the zoom level I selected, with the iphone it zooms all the way back in again and I have to zoom out all over again, this is annoying.Having to zoom the map out is also painful. I have to give the map 5 to 6 squeezes to get it to where i want it. I wish there was a button that would zoom out just like how double tapping it zooms in.Tracking isnt that great either, sometimes the blue dot goes crazy and starts to try and finds it ways. Its like watching a blue marble roll around on the screen until it finally knows where it is. The BB would not do this while initiating, it wouldnt show position until it new for certain where i was.Im sure i have other gripes but these are the ones that come to mind. Im curious to know all you guys that went from using Google Maps on the BB to the iphone how you feel about the transition?Even if you didnt try it on a BB let me know what you guys think about my experience. iphone 3g not work with car integration after 2.2 update

I just upgraded my iphone 3g with the new 2.2 software update and now it doesnt work with my car integration. Very frustrating... I have a 2009 Honda Civic that has a USB interface. Before the update I was able to charge and play music through the USB interface. In addition, I could also control the music through the stereo. After the update, it says not compatible and it doesnt even charge the phone anymore. Doesnt anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it? Street view is cool but i will definitely revert back to 2.1 if I cant fix this... Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Renaming Tracks Freezes iTunes for Two Minutes iphone 3g

I am not sure if this is an iTunes 8, Windows XP (I suspect so), or an iphone 2.2 software issue.When renaming audio tracks in a playlist on iphone 3g, for instance by adding a zero in order to correct a sequence of tracks in a playlist iTunes freezes for about two minutes.I assume this is the time it is taking to sync the change, although, there is no other indicatorthat there is a syncing process going on. This may also be a similar symptom to: iTunes 8x (Windows XP) seems to take an inordinateamount of time to recognize the iphone after plugging into the USB2 port.Thanks for any advice

Forwarding Voice Messages iphone

I see from the posts that there is quite a bit of discussion regarding forwarding text messages (which apparently cannot be done), but I cannot find anything regarding voice messages. Is this the same with voice messages, or is there a way to forward those to another person? Error Message iphone cannot be synced not enough access privileges

I have a dual boot WinXP Pro & Vista Ultimate laptop (ThinkPad X60) on separate HDDs. Have loaded iTunes 8.02 on both drives in both OSs. No problem synching my iphone in iTunes in WinXP. However, in Vista, I can back up, but cannot synch, the iphone (which is a 3g, acquired in August 2008, and it has software 2.2). This message repeatedly appears: The iphone name of phone cannot be synced. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. Have used Windows Explorer, gone to the iTunes folder in Users, and taken ownership of it and installed full control, but that hasnt helped. Have reinstalled iTunes. That hasnt helped. Voice Activated Dailing iphone

Recently purchased an iphone 3g and love it. Am very disappointed that it does not support hands free voice dialing, even my old (crappy) Motorola did that. Okay - I can hear nothing on the phone. I can make calls, microphone works as folk can hear me and I can hear my own answer phone messages. I can hear nothing on speaker, the handset or a headset. iPod starts playing on its own iphone 3g

my ipod likes to start playing on its own on my iphone 3g.Here is the scenario.I play the ipod for a while and then stop playing the music using the controls.I then press the home button to go and do something else, use some other app, etc.The iphone then will go to sleep for a few minutes.Then the ipod will start playing on its own. I believe this happens whether or not the headphones are in or not.I have the latest version of software on the iphone as well.Not sure what to do. double click to favorites stopped working iphone

My iphone 3g is 4 days old. It has the most up to date software installed (we updated in the apple store when I bought it.)I have it set to go to the favorites screen if I double click on the home button, and this used to work, but now, inexplicably, it doesnt anymore. I have re-synced, and I have turned the power off by pressing and holding the sleep button. Any ideas what might be wrong? Tried to do my very first sync & something went wrong and a iTUNES & USB connector came up on the iphone screen. Error 14, followed help right through, even uninstalling & re-installing iTUNES but still cannot restore factory settings and start again loading up iphone software in the restoration process. Seattle iphone users having network issues 3g

I have a 3g iphone, 16GB running 2.2 software. I live in Seattle and Im wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with receiving calls and text messages. Basically whats been happening is sometimes when people call me either my phone wont ring at all or it will ring twice and go to voicemail. With text messages, when someone sends a text with an image, Im not being sent the link to the AT&T website to login and view the image. Also I might get a bunch of text messages all at once like my phone has disappeared off the network, then receives a backlog of messages. as many apple iphone lovers i thought buying abroad could save me money when all it has done is create hassle after i upgraded my software to 2.2i originally bought my iphone 3g in hong kong and was given a sim card booster with my iphone, so when i got back in the uk i put it in with a pay as u go o2 sim card it was working perfectly until i downloaded 2.2 from itunes. then i lost all signal and my iphone was not picking up my sim card when it was working fine before the upgrade. after loosing all signal i restored my iphone to factory setting in itunes thinking it would solve my 2.2 problems but then when it had reset it was stuck on the emergency call screen and said i could only continue with a valid sim card inserted which i dont understand as my regular sim had no problems before some plz help!!!! what can i do to get my iphone back to its normal self .. i am not a pro with tech in an iphone so can someone plz help!!Message was edited by: dominic s sony vaio vgn-nr11s Windows Vista

Anecdote restore error 6 and 3g reception iphone

Recently I was in the Miami area on business. I synced my iphone before leaving. It worked fine for several days, and then suddenly gave the screen that says it needs to connect to iTunes. There was no emergency slider; it was in deep recovery mode.I had a MacBook Air with me (but this didnt have the most recent iphone backup). I tried to recover several times (even by putting the phone into blackscreen recovery mode), but kept getting iTunes error 6 during recovery.I made an appointment at the Genius Bar for as soon as I got home. The Genius was particularly nice and helpful, and after listening to my exact problem, he tried restoring the phone in the store. As he got an Error 6 as well, he immediately replaced the iphone with a new unit. I took it home and restored it using the pretty recent (but about 3-day-old) backup. All is fine.I notice one thing, though. My original iphone 3g was purchased on Day 1, July 11. I had carefully upgraded it all the way to 2.2, and it worked well, but even with the newest software update, it seemed to have a lot of difficulty with 3g. I would see No Service a lot, especially around my house which does have 3g (solid blue on the AT&T website, but used to be on the border of 3g service several months ago). Now that my iphone has been replaced, it is holding 3g much better than the old one did, even with 2.2 and even just several days ago.I think that both hardware and software improvements may have been part of improving the 3g part of the iphone 3g. My iphone has worked flawlessly for the past 16 months but is suddenly having issues. I have the latest versions/updates of iTunes, iphone, and system software.When I attempt to sync, I receive the ...cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50).It seems to be ok allowing me to sync and change music but does not allow the same for video.The most disturbing thing of all is that the iTunes sync menu will suddenly not populate any of my iPhoto albums to choose from.I have restored the iphone and still no luck. iphone thinks earphones are plugged in unable to make phone calls etc

Ive been having the same problem with my iphone on and off for a couple of months now.For some reason it thinks the headphones are plugged in, this means that I cannot listen to music using the speakers, I cant make any phone calls because if I make an outgoing call, I cant hear it ring nor the person speaking, because it thinks I have the headphones plugged in with the mic.The phone doesnt ring out loud when I have an incoming call, so I miss a lot of calls..If I try to change the volume, it has headphones in brackets, or something similar, which is how I know it thinks I have them plugged in.At first, I thought this was a problem with my headphones, because they were faulty, but Ive had them replaced, and at the same time, the lady I spoke to from apple told me this problem can be overcome by re-installing itunes, updating the iphone software version and resetting the iphone (home button and off button until the apple logo appears) Well, I did this and its still happening..Can someone please tell me what Im supposed to do, because my warranty runs out in less than a month and Ive already tried everything suggested, and its still happening.Thanks, Lou iphone Windows XP

iphone 2g 8GB running 2.2 software.first, i have a problem with my iphones and my imac 20 pre-aluminum intel dual core. almost every time i connect the iphone, my keyboard and mouse, or just my keyboard, stop working until i disconnect the iphone, unplug and plug the keyboard back into its USB port on the back. i have tried using different combinations of USB ports for the phone connector and the keyboard to no avail. is there a software fix im not aware of? should i ask for a new phone or something?second, is there a way to stop itunes from coming to the foreground and expanding to full window every time i connect my iphone? most of the time i just want it charged and have no interest in having whatever itunes is doing in player-only mode interrupted so i can look at my iphone in itunes. this is really disruptive and kind of user-unfriendly, at least to me.tia, all. iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Error synching Smart Albums iphone 3g

Just recently I have been getting the following error when synching smart albums from iPhoto on my iphone 3g: The iphone cannot be synched. The required file cannot be found.I am able to synch recent events or normal albums. I do have the latest iphone software installed (v. 2.2)Any help is appreciated. iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Download Application not Open iphone 3g

I just got a 8GB iphone 3g just a week ago, has been working fine for few day but all the sudden, my download application cannot be open at all on the phone (e,g some games, application software from lie facebook), when you try to open it shows the loading page...for 2 seconds..and then close by itself, and return back to main icon screen, tried turn off the phone and turn back on ,same issue. but all the pre-installed application is working fine e,g GPS, Calculator, youtube..etc. only the application that i download is having the issues. also tried update the new iphone 2.1 firmware but still have the issue. anyone know what causing this issue? please help..thanks Windows XP

Mail app displays some emails wrong on iphone 3g after 2.2 update

Mail application renders some emails incorrectly after updating iphone software to version 2.2. What it does now is it crops or covers half of the text from right to middle with white blank area, leaving the message mostly unreadable.I got screen captures of one message, showing how the email was displayed before and after software update. Ringer switch-ATT clerks nothing iphone 3g

I just bought a 3g, had it a day or so and it quit ringing regardless of the software sound settings. When I realized it wasnt ringing, I happened to be near an AT&T store, so I ran in and asked one of the clerks what was wrong. She went through the settings and tried calling my phone. No ring. Then she did a soft reset by holding the power and home keys. No ring.Finally, after consulting with another clerk about it, she tells me Youre gonna have to call Apple, and starts explaining Apples top-notch tech support program to me (which Ive been familiar with since my first Mac years ago)... So when I got home, before I called, I searched the support site and of course, quickly found my solution. I had accidentally flipped the silencer hardware switch next to the volume control.I cant believe the AT&T employees didnt know about a hardware switch on the phones theyre selling. Ill bet the Apple support guys answering the phones wish AT&T folks were just a tad more savvy in answering simple, basic questions like mine. G5 Tower Dual PPC 2.7ghz Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Update 2.2 and my Phone Touch iphone 3g

After the 2.2 upgrade my iphone doesnt works more as phone sim not supported No service.i have buy the Phone in HK and find out later it was a US model bounded to AT&T.My Problem is i have buy a phone i have pay for the phone and it has works fine until apple has release the 2.2 update. I have changed my Computer recently and have authorized my new PC for i Tunes. When i am about to Sync or update to 2.2 software(currently i am using 2.1), iTunes is asking for a back up and this back up is taking more than 12 hours. I have a US iphone 3g, when iserting my AT&T sim it works although i didnt activated it myself.I jail broken it on OS 2.1 and works fine.my question is this: is there a software solution to unlock the phone to accept sims from other countries.? Poor In Car Sound iphone

Hi, I drive a Ford S-Max Ford Europe which has a built in blue tooth system made by Nokia.Since the 2.2 upgrade the volume and quality of my in-car calls has degraded to the point where I now have to hold the phone in order that the caller can hear me.Yes I have turned the volume up whilst the call is active.The greater issue is that the caller thinks that I am sitting in a trash can as the echoeing is so severe.There were no such complaints with the v2.0 or v2.1 software.Has anyone suffered a similar problem and is there a solution?ThanksPaul Backhouse Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.5.5) iphone 3g

Broken home Button on Music Player iphone 3g

Well Ive only had this problem twice now, but here it is:Sometimes when playing music, the home button stops functioning, and I cant exit out of the music player. Lock still works, as does the touchscreen.Just wont exit out of the player when i click home.Both times I had to turn the device off and reboot to make the button work again.What should I do about it?
