Sending SMS with OSX through iphone

Hello,I would like to ask if there is a way to type an SMS on my Mac and then send it with my iphone connected via Bluetooth, Wifi or cable ? Many other phone manufacturer offer a software suite to do so with their phones, and since OSX and the iphone are from the same company I thought there must be an easy way to do so, but I couldnt find anything yet. MMS App using OS 3.0 iphone

Problems since downloading new iphone software 3g

Since downloading the latest iphone software, two copies of most emails arrive in my mailbox rather than one and my ipod-purchased music wont play full songs but gives a ten second preview and moves onto the next. Any idea what to do about this? macbook Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Emegency Calls iphone

So i just got my iphone 3g and set the passcode on the it. After I set the passcode I tried to install the 3.0 iTunes software during installation the computer prompted that I needed to enter the passcode on the phone to connect to iTunes. When I went to type in the passcode all the phone is allowing me to do is to make emergency calls. Has anyone else had this problem??? Can someone help me please??/ Gateway iphone OS 3.0

iphone upgrade has crashed my iphone and causes blue screen error on PC 3g

I just tried to upgrade my software and half way through my PC crashed. It said a blue screen error had occurred. Itunes now shows that my phone needs to be restored, but everytime I try to do my PC crashes again. This has now happened three times in 1 hour. I have Itunes v.8.0 on my pc but this hasnt been a problem till now. I am so angry that I have lost everything on my phone due to a problem like this. International Keyboards some new keyboards cannot be displayed iphone

I was very happy when I saw new languages in the options for International Keyboards (in the new 3.0 software), especially about the cyrillic keyboards, such as Serbian, Macedonian and Bulgarian. However, none of these keyboards can be displayed (in notes, sms, etc). I wonder why is there options for these keyboards if these keyboards cannot be displayed. I work with several keyboards, such as Norwegian, Russian, Croatian and Greek. They work fine.Did apple forgot to install Serbian, Macedonian and Bulgarian in the new 3.0 firmware? Transfer files from Windows-formatted iphone 3g to Mac

Hi I am trying to copy the songs/videos on my iphone 3g which I update with my Windows PC to my new Mac. How can I do that and reformat my iphone without having to delete all the songs on it? Is there an external program I could use by any chance, since iTunes is limited in that sense?And I really dont feel like paying to do this so please dont recommend some random software to purchase. Stereo Bluetooth-no support for controls and other issues iphone 3g

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesnt work and > and < dont work. Its pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesnt support these functions.One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.Are others getting the same results?I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iphone from Bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an specialist. The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they dont even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iphone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the Bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy. with battery issues READ iphone 3g

I have had non stop issues with battery life after upgrading to the 3.0 software. 2.2 was great and never had any issues. Since 3.0 my battery life would drain so fast it was really bad and using the phone as normal was just not happening. After 5 restores even using no backups and restoring as a new phone didnt work. Well I have finally solved my battery problem and you can too!I started with a full charge at 630pm and now at 1230am I am still at 85% with wifi on, fetch hourly, brightness 70%, location services on, checking rss feeds, downloaded two apps from app store, used google and watched youtube. And plenty of texts. Pretty solid if you ask me. So here is what I did.1. Go to Settings app on the iphone > General > Scroll down to Reset and the select the top option to Reset All Settings This will reset the settings and reboot.2. Now go into your iTunes folder - Home > Library > iTunes > iphone software Updates. and delete the 3.0 Firm Ware from the list.3. Now plug your phone and connect to iTunes. Click restore and download a FRESH copy of the 3.0FW.4. Once downloaded DO NOT restore from a back up. Set up as a new phone an once the restore is complete, manually add your data by syncing. Again do not use a back up during this process. Just act like you are starting from scratch. (contacts, music, etc.) Please let me know how this works for you. I was about to return my 3g for a refurb because the battery life was absolutely horrible. But this works i swear!!! iphone freezes

I have a first-gen iphone. More than 50% of the time, the iphone freezes after I wake it up from sleep mode (I cannot slide the bar to unlock). It does this when I wake up the iphone manually by pressing the home button, or if it wakes up because it receives an incoming message or phone call. It will even do it when it is in Airplane mode. And it has done this on the original software and has not improved with software updates. Its not a permanent freeze; I can work around it by putting it to sleep with the top button and then waking it up with the home button. But its getting annoying because it means I cant answer 50% of my incoming calls.Any ideas? Contacts conflict with international code iphone

Dear all,I have iphone 3g factory unlocked and I upgraded its software to 3.0 but after the upgrade, everytime i recieve a call from a local number that is saved in the contacts with its international code it appears on the phone as a number (no name) so I have to delete the international code from the saved contact to make the name appears again! Voice Control not available to iphone 3g users. How to comply with law

First I understand how new features often only come with new hardware. My question isnt so much why the Voice Control feature wasnt rolled into the iphone 3.0 update for iphone 3g users, but what app is available for the iphone 3g to comply with recent laws requiring hands free driving. The upgrade for new features where it is a choice is fine, but forcing an upgrade or break the law is a bit steep, especially if it is only a software dependency and not a hardware dependency. So are there any 3rd party apps which provide a hands free experience? iphone 3g iphone OS 3.0

iphone 3g with 3.0 software stuck in Recovery

my iphone problem is this...My phone was displaying this message...Even if i had nothing connected to it.Then, it would jump back to the springboard, and not let me do anything really. then it stayed stuck in the SMS app. Finally it asked me to connect to itunes, and i had to restore. now it keeps telling me to restore even after ive wiped it and restored it. Battery didnt charge anymore eitherI took it to apple and the genius at the one of the local apple stores said i need to purchase a new one. Said there was water damage to the phone, but the water damage sensors that proves water damage is unchanged/unaffected. Also said there was rust on the dock connector. There was some kind of grime...but no rust. He then proceeded to use some tools to wipe the contacts of the dock port. as well as an xacto knife.so all in all the verdict is that i NEED to buy a new phone. no free replacements for me. The guy wasnt even really helpful. cut me off whenever i tried to explain a symptom.What can i do? Apple wants me to buy a new phone from them. But im a poor college kid...what can i do? Auto-Brightness I dont think so iphone 3g

Ive been having difficulty with auto brightness ever since I upgraded to the iphone 3g. I was hoping that the latest 3.0 software update would take care of it, but it didnt. Frankly speaking, on the 3g, for me anyway, it has never functioned at all. Example: When turning the iphone on this morning in a, for the most part, pitch black environment, even after waiting for the iphone to adjust for almost 5 Minutes, the brightness of the screen remains soooo bright its blinding. Am I missing something here as far as how to set the function up? Dont you simply SELECT auto-brightness? Surely Im not the only one experiencing this? How I get rid of video download iphone 3g

I have a 3g iphone which is new and after setting it all up (including the 3.0 software) I thought I would rent a video to test. In the More icon at the bottom right of I-Tunes (on the iphone) there is a red circle with 1 in it. When I click on it there is the film I am trying to download but the status is processing and however long I leave it it does not finish/change (wifi or on 3g).I clicked another download hoping to help it along... 3.0 killed my video-out iphone 3g

My cable and everything worked fine in 2.2, upgraded to 3.0, and now I get the dreaded Unsupported Accessory message and it shuts down the video-out port! I even downgraded back down to 2.2 just to make sure thats what it was. Tested again on the downgraded 2.2, and sure enough, it worked fine!! No Unsupported errors, nothing, just video working the way it should. ***, Apple??!!!! Why cant Apple leave this stuff alone! I had to buy a new cable going to the 3g and it looks like Ill need to spend more $$ on an Apple cable! Way to Resolve iphone 3g Battery Issue

1) Bring it back to Apple2) Ask for a downgrade to 2.2 as 3.0 spoilt the battery life.3) If they say they cant do it, ask for a new set replacement.But well, from experience. They replace mine with a new set. But the new set faced the same problem after the 3.0 update. Will be sending it back again on Monday.I dont really bother to downgrade it to 2.2 using some third party software because this is not my fault. Apple should find ways to resolve it. iphone 3g on Windows XP 2002 SP3 remains locked in sync in Progress

Hi,I have an Apple iphone 3g. I recently updated to the iphone 3 software update and also updated Itunes to 8.2. Now when I try to sync my songs, the ipod appears on my computer and in itunes and then it does about 30 songs and the iphone disappears in Itunes, however, the iphone says sync in progress. However, itunes shows that nothing is happening but my iphone says sync in progress. Some songs are getting through but then I cancel the sync because it is taking so long. Drained battery with iphone 3g 3.0 upgrade

I loaded the new 3.0 software a few days ago with no problems. Today I found that my turned off/ idle phone in my pocket had gone to the new Apple recorder program and has been recording for 58 minutes by the time I discovered it. Slow iphone 3g after 3.0 OS update

Has anyone else had their iphone 3g slow down after updating the software on it? For me, its not super slow, its just a delay of about .5 to 1 second, but when I notcie it, it is exremeley annoying. And when I try to turn the keyboard to the side to text on it, its also kinda slow. And if anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me. 3.0 wifi issues iphone

Ok this is very frustating. Ever since I installed the 3.0 software on my phone I have been having issues catching my emails, etc. Before my emails would appear as soon as i received them now i have to go in my email and like 10 emails load at once. Also, my WIFI doesnt work it connects perfectly fine but when i try to use (safari,youtube, maps, email, the app store) it just keeps loading until i get a error message. Whenever Im on Edge it works perfect.Anybody have suggestions in how to resolve this Windows XP

Sudden shutdown at about 15 iphone 3g

Hi all, im starting a new topic as i think my problem with the battery is slightly different from the others involving push and so on...My case is quite odd: the battery is lasting a little less than with 2.2.1, but i think is because of the issues with the Push, but i dont care about, as its a software related.My problem is actually when the phone is running with low battery. At first it will show the 20% warning, and i will dismiss it. Later the battery will drain less, and when it reach about 15% (i guess) the phone will quit the application it was running, then the spinning wheel will force the phone shut down. No low batteries warnings, no way to power on once shut down. The only way to resurrect the phone is plugging it to the charging adaptor (or Mac).Anyone with the same problem?thanksJet Intel PC Windows XP Pro

My iphone 3g will not detect my Laptop properly

Hi all,I need some help. Im stuck Ive been working on this for days. Ive reloaded my bluetooth drivers and just dont know what to do. Ive got a Dell Studio 15 running Vista with SP2 installed. My iphone is up to date and Im trying to hook up my iphone via bluetooth to my computer.I am able to pair the two but Windows asks me for a Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver when hooking up my iphone. Nothing I do will make it work, Ive tried searching my computer, the internet, updating my bluetooth drivers from Dells site (for the record I have a Dell Wireless 370 mini card for my bluetooth connection.) If I ignore the request (which I could do in the past) my pc and my iphone see one another in their list of bluetooth devices but if I go to my iphone and tap my PC to connect I get the pinwheel for a minute or two and then it just goes back to unconnected.This all started after updating to SP2 and iPhones version 3 software. I did both around the same time so I dont know what caused it. Touch Screen Much Less Responsive After 3.0 Update iphone 3g

Now this is a weird one: I updated my iphone to software v.3.0 and everything seems to be fine with one huge exception: my touchscreen only chooses to recognize about 30% of my taps. I am not sure how this happened, but it coincides perfectly with the 3.0 software update. The home and power buttons work fine, and I dont think the phone is just lagging. It seems that there is nothing I can do to get the touchscreen to be more responsive either. Its almost like it randomly shuts off the touch sensitiveness and random times.Any help would be much appreciated! iphone 3g iphone OS 3.0

I have the iphone 3g and I recently updated to the 3.0 software and alot of times throughout the day the message pops up that says that this device doesnt work with the iphone and asks if I want to turn on the airplane mood ( I do not have anything plugged into the phone). I also noticed today that when I play my music that there is no sound coming from the speakers ( I dont have headphone plugged in I was just trying to hear it through the phone speakers like I could beofre). iphone will not restore 3g

Hello,Yesterday, my iphone locked up as it has been doing more often. I power cycled it and it would not turn back on. I read online that the next thing to try was a restore. Everything appeared to be going fine, but when the progress bar was full on the iphone and on itunes... it stuck. I let it run for 8 hrs and it was still in the same state...it said restoring iphone software on itunes and the progress bar was full on the iphone. ok this morning i tried to download the new iphone 3.0 software and my iphone is jailbroken already but i just wanted the new software, so i downloaded it and now my iphone is stuck with a pink/purple screen.I tried to restore it to factory settings but that damn pink screen keeps showing up, what should i do?

iphone 3.0 issues its not software its your handset 3g

after my varied fixes and tries to fix my iphone, i took it to the apple store and spoke to a genius. now up until this point i had assumed the issues i was having was 3.0 related. (sluggish, battery drain etc)however upon doing a diagnostic test of my handset, Mr Genius told me it was my handset! the reason my phone was sluggish now was that the RAM had been corrupted by the upgrade, rare, but happens. second, my battery was dead! it was fully charged before i left home to go to the store (30min tops) and on this test it showed my phone only had 9 hours standby left with 31% charge remaining (phone is only 5 weeks old!) my phone was replaced on the spot, no questions asked. i have uploaded the new 3.0 software on it, and synced all my data, apps, etc and i can tell you, it FLIES!! all issues i had one the old handset are gone. phone is perfectly responsive and will let you all know battery life when it goes flat so issues? get your handset replaced!cheerstroykmMessage was edited by: troykm iphone OS 3.0

Has anyone had troubles with dropped calls? Ever since I downloaded the new software onto my phone, every call I make or receive tends to end up being a call failed after only a few minutes or seconds and I have full bars and 3g service. iphone 3g 3.0 lose wifi when using bluetooth

OK, I updated to the 3.0 software yesterday and now Im having a weird problem with my wifi when I use by bluetooth headset. Whenever I use my bluetooth headset on a call my wifi signal dies to the point where it wont connect anymore to the AP anymore. This only happens when the phone is using the bluetooth headset, once I change the audio source back to the phone or speaker the wifi signal comes right back to full bars. I have try hard rebooting and resetting the network setting but nothing has helped. Any thoughts? Custom Built PC
