iTunes not reading contents of iphone 3g

after many successful syncing with my iphone, all in a sudden, and with no apparent action by me, my iphone 3g cant sync with itunes, i got an error message that says itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone .... Go to the summary tab in iphone preferences and click restore to restore this iphone to factory settings - wel i can tell i did not make any jailbeaking or else, and i dont want to lose my last months calendar, contacts and apps.... how can ii do? i tried reinstalling itunes but... i run 10.6 on a Mac Prothanks Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Pc says USB device not recognised iphone 3g

Hi every one. Could anybody help please ? Iv had my iphone 3g for about 6 months and its always worked with my PC no problem. For some reason my pc will no longer recognise it.In fact it wont recognise any of my Apple devices (iphone,Ipod and Nano) Every thing else that I have works in all my usb ports just not the apple devices for some reason?I have been on the phone to O2 iphone support but everything they tried failed and iv asked at my computer shop but they cant help either.Some things iv tried: Un installing Itunes/re installing it.Soft restore on IphoneRe booting pcTesting every usb portThing is iv tried all my apple devices in my second computer and they work fine,so it must be some sort of driver thats missing maybe ??Can any one help please ???

Missed calls iphone

Well, after ive updated my iphone2G/16GB to fw 3.1.2 my phone doesnt work normally. To describe problem: When someone is calling me (not always happening), i dont recieve a call, and soon after i receive a message that ive missed a call! Ive read there are many with similar problem with 2G on 3.1.2fw, even restore doesnt work, tried few times, also tried to sync to iTunes as NEW device!Is there any solution to this? Unable to restore iphone 3g

Hi, first time posting. Im about ready to toss out my beloved iphone 3g. Ive never, in my 1 and 1/2 years of owning the iphone 3g, come across this type of situation before. Hoping someone can help.I was happily on FW version 3.0.1 with everything working just fine. Then one night, the iphone wouldnt respond to me pushing the sleep/wake button, so I tried a hard reset, but that threw the phone into either DFU mode or Recovery mode (screen was just blank). So I tried restoring with iTunes, but it wouldnt restore. iTunes would always get to Verifying iphone restore with the progress bar, but never complete.The progress bar on the iphone itself under the Apple logo would also freeze (but where it would freeze seems to depend on the FW version Im trying to restore). I have since tried with FW versions 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.1, and 3.1.2. iphone 3g WIFI dropping out

Hi Guys, I need some suggestion, My iphone 3g (firmware 3.12) suddenly has a WIFI is dropping out issue.Every time i tried connect to any of the router, it will successfully accept the WIFI connection as I successfully authenticate the connection,but then after few sec it will be disconnected and then it will try to connect in which will again connected and again few sec it off. Wont go pass logo screen just cycles though it iphone 3g

With my old iphone I had I was able to back it up and restore from the backups, now that I have a new iphone I cant restore it from my backups and when I do I lost all my hard game saved data from these RPGs I bought. It also takes about to about 5 hours on my new phone too if I dont manually unplugg it.What can or should I do? White screen with lines iphone 3g

When I tried to use my phone yesterday I hit the home button and all I saw was a white screen with dark lines going up and down the right side of the phone. I tried to reset by holding the home/sleep button but it goes back to white. Next I plugged into I-tunes and tried to restore it. No luck there either. I-tunes recognizes the phone, syncs, backups but wont restore. It is a refurbed 3g from AT&T and I am still under my 90 day warranty. Any solutions? Also, will apple repair/replace it or will I need to go thru AT&T?Thanks! Emachines Windows XP

3g not working iphone

My 3g for my iphone doesnt work all the time. And I was wondering if anyone has had this problem as well. Where you cant send/receive calls or messages when you have full service under 3g coverage. Ive called customer service and all they told me to do was reset my phone which didnt work. I also went to an at&t store and they just told me to restore my phone, Which also didnt work. Ive even tried the airplane mode trick, and the problem with my 3g is still occuring. and last but not least i also tried to restore my iphone as a new iphone and that still did not work. does any one have any advice. iphone OS 3.1.2

Hello,I have an iphone 3g 8gb. Lately my iphone has been driving me crazy. It has basically turned into nothing more than an expensive phone. Whenever I want to use my iPhones internet over 3g, my iphone will just shut down and reboot, with about 30% less battery. This happens everytime I try to use 3g. Sometimes it will even happen when I am in an application. I am running 3.1.2 firmware, I have tried to restore it to no avail. I have even tried to set it up as a new iphone which hasnt helped. While using WiFi there is no problems with shutting down. Does anyone have a fix for this? I am about to get a new phone because this is so annoying. Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2)

RAM failure iphone 3g

Hi, my iphone 3g (not jailbroken) has been quite sluggish recently and at times unusable. Full restarts usually dont help. I did a restore that seemed to help for awhile, but the same problems seem to be recurring intermittantly. I found some system activity apps in the app store and I tried System Activity Monitor and iStat. These apps show Active, Inactive, Free and Wired memory. When I add these, the most I ever get is around 90Mb. I understand that the 3g has 128Mb of physical RAM, so I am wondering if there is a problem. Obviously these are 3rd party apps that may not detect all the RAM for many reasons and I maybe expecting too much of them. First time posting on the forums but its gotten to the point where my phone isnt even usable and I either need some answers or a good excuse to smash it.So heres the story:I got my iphone 3g (black, 16GB) in September (I think), last year. The phone operated fine with only minor annoyances as software updates came down to fix issues, no big deal. About 10 months in, the phone starts acting up:If you want clarification on some problem, ask. I don’t want to type out 8 paragraphs if I don’t have to, should be pretty self-explanatory.Before OS 3:1.)Can’t slide to answer calls. After ringing stops phone behaves normally.2.)Doesn’t charge from wall or computer (happened randomly). Plug phone in, it says it’s charging but never charges.3.)Can’t end calls / call doesn’t end when other line is hung up (thanks for wasting my minutes).(these problems persist even with hard resets and full restores, including setting the phone up as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup)After OS 3 AND full restore:1.)Can’t slide to answer calls. After ringing stops phone behaves normally.2.)Can’t end calls / call doesn’t end when other line is hung up (thanks for wasting my minutes).(same as above, problems persist with hard resets and the like)At any rate, I was home one weekend and figured I’d take the phone to the Genius bar at the Mayfair Mall Apple Store. Sounded like a good plan until I get to the mall and find the store is being renovated (seriously Apple, you can’t just put that on your site that a store is closed for some reason? Give me a break). Home is 3 hours away for me and the closest Apple store is 2.5 hours away. Awesome.I deal with the problems for another month or so until my girlfriend and I take a trip to visit her friend in Minnesota. While there we go to the Mall of America so I decide to go to the Apple Store there (which is flappin’ giant, by the way). I explain my problems to the ‘Genius’ as well as informing him of the numerous restores/resets I’ve done both before and after the 3.0 update. He checks the phone for water damage and concludes that the headphone/dock ports are dusty which is causing the charging problem. I proceed to tell him I’ve cleaned them with compressed air before and the problems continued but he’s the ‘Genius’ so I let him do his thing and clean them again. Afterwards, he concludes (via the iphone diagnostic software they have) that since I haven’t done a restore in about a month that I should do another one as that will likely remedy the problem. Right. Was he even listening when I explained that the problems happened before and after the 3.0 update or that I had on numerous occasions attempted to remedy the problem with hard resets and restores? Nope. My girlfriend over hears this (she is aware of the problems I was having and is a Apple-certified hardware technician at our local Mac store) and comes over to reiterate (albeit slightly more forcefully than I had initially) that the problems occur regardless of restore state or software version. The ‘Genius’ finally decides he can replace the phone after explaining to him that we are not anywhere near an Apple store and that there’s little time left in the warranty. I get my new phone set up and ready to go. Whew.Everything is great. Phone works, no issues. Until ~2 months ago, new issues start cropping up.OS 3.1+ (happen on all versions):1.)Can’t sync, get “unable to complete. Phone was disconnected.” Error. (I checked around the forums and tried a few things but was unable to resolve the issue, including trying to remove the files that it kept ‘disconnecting’ on when it got to, no effect)2.)Installing an application (be it via App Store on the phone or via sync with my desktop) results in the phone being unable to boot if turned off. When attempting to turn it back on, Apple logo shows then phone goes off after a few seconds. Only way to resolve this is by booting the phone directly to restore mode and doing a full restore.3.)Earlier this week, my phone wouldn’t boot after having no apps (0, zero, zip, nada) on it after restoring it a few weeks back. Apple logo showed up then the spinning loading animation overlaid on the logo only to freeze. Attempted booting again and it came on (whew).4.)Today, my phone wouldn’t boot at all, again, no apps are on or have been on the phone since I last restored it. Tried turning it off/on a few times, no good. I ended up restoring the phone again.At first, my girlfriend was convinced that it was because I was synching with my desktop PC (obviously, blame it on the PC first), which I’ve been using since I got the phone and everything was fine until both phones randomly decided to crap out. I ended up restoring it on my MacBook Pro as a new phone just to see but the same thing happens with the apps causing it to not boot. After that we thought that it might be a single (or a few) apps that were just taking the phone down for some reason. I restored the phone with no apps and it seemed to be ok so I put 3 apps that I’ve had pretty much since they were available (and used to work without issue) back on to see. The plan was to add a few apps until the phone stopped working properly to narrow down the offending app. Just kidding! Just having those 3 apps (Beejive IM, Facebook, iDracula) causes the phone to not boot. I restore and try just Facebook. Same thing, phone doesn’t boot. restore, try just Beejive. Same thing, phone won’t boot. By the way, the phone doesn’t boot even without me having LAUNCHED THE APPS AT ALL. Just by being on my phone it’s totally hosed.At this point I have no idea what to do. I want to like my iphone again but it’s terribly worthless when I have to restore it every other day and can’t use my ~$90 worth of apps (PS: even Apple’s own ‘Remote’ app brings the phone down). I really, really hate to say it but my old HTC Hermes (Windows Mobile 5/6) PDA phone was better than this (and WinMo is god-awful).Does anyone have any suggestions? My phone is out of warranty now and I don’t have money to buy another phone even if I wanted to.***Also, I treat my phone like a baby. When composing emails or texts, my Iphone3Gs 3.1.2 OS will intermittently skip to the next line and capitalize he word as though I had pressed the return key (which I didnt). Unresponsive White Screen with Vertical Black lines on right side of iphone 3g

I was walking down the stairs today, pulled the iphone out of my pocket, and noticed that the screen was white with about 10 vertical black lines on right side. Reseting the phone sometimes changes the screen to green-ish. But the phone appears unresponsive even after a hard reset and restore through itunes.Unfortunately, my phone is 20 months old, and Im afraid the warranty is over...Any ideas? No iphone sounds

Hi guys, Id appreciate any and all help. Today, randomly, my iphone stopped emitting sound. I was watching a movie during the day, I received a phone call, everything worked normal until I synced with itunes. After the sync, the iphone wont emit any sound at all. At this point, Ill point out that the mute/sound on/of flip switch above the volume controls on the iphone is definitely set to on. So Ive tried re-syncing my iphone, doing a soft reset and turning the phone off and on, all to no avail. Im currently in the middle of a hard reset+restore via itunes but hold little hope. Any ideas? Problems with connecting iphone to computers

Hi all, I am new to iphone and I just brought it 3 days ago, I am sure it should be a nice device if I could connect it to the itunes in my pc,however, it fails right at the beginning.I am using Dell Studio 15 which I bought in August, and then I have downloaded itunes and it works all fine with my ipod mini nano that I bought in Ocotober. However, days ago I purchased an iphone, and I found out that the itunes in my pc cannot detect the phone(but it in fact could detect it as a Digital Still Camera), have already called the Apple services hotline here in Hong Kong, but they cant find out where the problem lies, even I have reinstalled all related softwares and checked all USB hubs. Even the newly installed itunes can work with ipod!!!!!Another fact is that the iphone works well with all other pc that I have tried but not mine, and I only have one personal pc so I need it to work with the phone!! Have read an old post here about a month ago that one user shared the same case with me, which his/her iphone couldnt work with Dell 1555, he/she finally get the matter settled by reset the iphone, however I have tried and now my phone is even worse, it freezes at the restore page and I cant do anything =( Anyone know whats going on here? iphone wont ring

Just bought a brand new iphone 3g S. Received calls and text on the first day and the ringtone played. Then I realized I have been missing every call and text. I tried adjusting volume, changing ringtone, etc. I can hear it through the earbuds but not through the external speaker. If I test the different ringtones under the settings I can hear it perfectly through the external speakers. I even tried to restore it through iTunes with no success. Also, Apple support suggest removing and adjusting SIM card. That didnt work either.Any suggestions before I make the trip to the Apple Store? iMac (x2) Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Screen says This accessory not made to work with iphone

When I turn on the phone that is the message I get in bold followed by a que asking if I want to go into airline mode. I phone sounds such as ringing and key strokes are intermittent even with the volume up all the way. Some calls I can recieve and hear the caller, other calls light the screen with no sounds. iphone not reconnect to Cell Network after losing signal 3g

Hey everyone!So I seem to have a really strange issue, and it just recently started happening with my iphone 3GIf Im in an area where I dont have cell coverage for a while (ie: a basement, or subway) once I get above ground, the phone wont reconnect to the cell network.The cell signal indicator will say Searching... for a while but will either change to No Service or stay on Searching... even though Im in an area that I know has coverage.The only way to get the phone to reconnect to either Reboot, Power Off/On, or Turn Airplane Mode On then Off.This is really starting to get frustrating since I have to do one of the above or my phone just wont connect and stay that way until I do something.I first noticed this with iphone OS 3.0.1, but just recently did a fresh restore to 3.1.2.Has anyone else experienced this?? Downgrade from 3.1 to 2.2.1 iphone 3g

HiIve used the 3.x firmwares for a while now, but Im not really satisfied. Its just too slow.So I tried to downgrade to 2.2.1 to make it a bit speedier. I realise that this might not be supported, but I needed to try.I held Shift and pressed restore, selected the correct 2.2.1 firmware and itunes proceeded to unpack the firmware. However, the process ends with Error 20. I figured that perhaps doing a incremental downgrade instead would work better, so I tried to downgrade to 3.0 from 3.1. That went a little bit further, but in the end, the process ended with an error (think it was 1015 or something) and left the phone in the recovery mode (usb cord -> to itunes icons).Has anyone succeeded in downgrading, how did you do it? Bear in mind, that Ive had the 3.X-firmware for as long as it was available, and switched my pc several times since my upgrade. Meaning, I cant restore from a backup of the 2.X-firmware. My wife has been keeping some notes on one of our dogs medical problems and tonight she was typing more notes and some how the notes just vanished. She did not delete them. Can someone please help. Serious iphone issues Please help 3g

Ok, so, it all started yesterday when I tried to open any application that I downloaded (the ones that werent on the phone to begin with) and they would immediately crash out. All of them... Facebook, CameraBag, Flashlight, etc. None of them will stay open, not even for 2 seconds. I did a little google research and was unable to find a fix to this, just a bunch of people saying they had the same problem. One person mentioned doing a restore on the phone, but at the moment my iMac associated with the phone is being repaired with Apple. Tonight I am working out and I notice that certain songs, Id say 1/3rd of my library, are being skipped over. Its weird because the song shows up as being played and then immediately pauses. I press play, it pauses. Again and again. It never actually plays. Now I am starting to worry. Something is definitely not right here with the phone and I have no idea how to go about fixing it. Im sure I will have to wait until my iMac is home, but does anyone know what exactly is going on here or how to fix this?! It seems like a hardware issue. I havent dropped the phone or gotten it wet. Hello.My iphone went off by itself (in the middle of the night) and I couldnt get it back on. After browsing a lot I decided to try to restore it.No error comes up, but it just freezes half way through. Its done it when looking for the iphone, but its usually when iTunes says Restoring iphone firmware. I even left it overnight in case it was just taking ages.Ive been trying on a MacBook, and at the moment Im using my old Dell laptop, but the same thing is happening.Is the phone just broken? iphone crashed hard after Erase all settings and data 3g

I have a problem with my iphone, which is further compounded by being out to sea in the Arabian Gulf, so no internet access. Anyways, my phone was acting up, and I read somewhere that if you erase all the setting it would fix it. My phone was being read on itunes on my computer as just iphone and wouldnt let me change anything, so the restore phone that way was out. Also, after it nuked, I gave it to a buddy of mine here on the ship, and he tried whatever tricks it could do with a mac. He gave it back to me unsuccessful. I updated my itunes to itunes 9 or whatever the new one is. So pretty much, when I turn my phone on, it is stuck at the opening screen with the little apple, until is resets and then does it all over again. If you plug it into a computer, it doesnt realize anything is plugged in. I am lost as to what to do with it, other than throw it over the side. Hopefully someone know what to do here. Thank you. crashes like crazy after battery swap restore doesnt help iphone 3g

Quick summary: I have an iphone 3g thats out of warranty. Battery wasnt lasting very long, so I installed a replacement off eBay.Ever since doing so, it crashes hard and often. Ive since put the original battery back in, and saw no improvement. Multiple restores have been ineffective; even in its virgin state, right after restore, it will crash with anything that uses a lot of power. Ive even tried buying another battery and installing it, and still havent seen any improvement.I have crash logs and kernel panic logs, but the only trend I can see is that the crashes occur when I do something that requires more power, such as loading an app, turning on bluetooth and/or wifi, playing a sound, etc... All of the hardware works, in between crashes.Just wondering if anyone here has seen anything similar, or has any experience with these kinds of symptoms. Error code 14 no troubleshooting works iphone 3g

Last night I updated my iphone 3g with the latest software, and when the phone began to reboot, it just turned off, then came back on in recovery mode. The screen shows the iTunes logo with a USB lead pointing toward it, and this is as far as I can get. When I plug it in to iTunes, it says its in recovery mode and needs to be restored. I press restore, and the usual boxes pop up, then the download/restore process starts, but fails when it is about 10% complete on the phone screen, says an unknown error (14) occurred. I was having problems updating the content of my iphone. It synced and backed up but froze on each of several attempts to load additional songs saying could not read to the disc - error -50. So I attempted to restore and part way through this I was asked to reconnect my phone to itunes. Then I got a message saying I was unable to restore - error 2006. So now Im in limbo and can neither restart the process or receive calls, texts or anything. Ive seen a very similar query but with a different error message Can anyone make a helpful suggestion? Screen Display Magnified iphone

I have a an iphone 3 G S 16 Gig. All of a sudden the screen has increased in size so that material at the edges is covered. This situation makes it difficult to tap such things as edit and write on messages or email if you know what I mean. I can find nothing in settings to restore the screen to its original size. I hooked phone up to computer. Downloaded the latest update for the iphone 3g. it was installing then just froze. now phone is stuck in restore mode only shows the itunes logo and the usb cable. even when i try to restore the phone it gets to a point and just freezes. Windows XP

Any advice appreciated! Ive just had a warranty replacement 16G iphone 3g. Its about a week old.3 times it has suddenly gone from working fine to displaying the Connect to itunes screen along with a button for emergency calls. This has happened while the phone is being used. The only thing I can do is restore it from a backup, but this shouldnt be happening at all - never happened on my old phone in a year. Does this sound like a faulty phone? iphone 3g not syncing

First time poster so go easy on me =)First off, I have read extensively about this problem and I have tried multiple things: starting my computer with the iphone attached, powering up the iphone while connected to the computer, deleting everything on my camera roll, taking out and re-inserting the sim card but nothing has worked so far.My iphone is able to charge via the wall charger but not charge from the USB.My iphone will not connect, sync, or even show up in my computer (running Windows 7 64 bit). The only thing that happens is when the iphone is connected to the computer in Control Panel> Devices and Printers the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver shows up for approximately 15 seconds then disappears. I would do a restore but my iphone is unable to sync with iTunes to complete that. Also, I was wondering if (hypothetically since I cant right now) I do a restore, will my contacts disappear or are they stored in the SIM card?Thanks in advance! iphone dead 3g

Got a 3g from a friend and used it as an iPod. I have no SIM card as he took it when he upgraded. iphone worked fine on WiFi and functioned exactly as my iPod touch, which was all I wanted it for. When it was time to sync an update was available and after the update the iphone crashed. I can not sync to iTunes, iTunes doesnt recognize the iphone without the SIM card. The file on my computer for the iphone is completely empty. 100% of capacity is available. Is there a way for me to restore to factory settings without having the SIM card and going through iTunes? The only function I have on the phone now is the emergency call option.Any and all help would be appreciated. TIA Windows Vista

Hi,I ws wondering if someone may be able to help.My iphone 3g decided to pack up earlier. Was working fine then got no service message in corner. restarted iphone and now just stays on Apple sign for 5 mins then goes off and does the same again.I have tried a system restore recovery on itunes. goes through wholse procedure reboots my iphone then i am bck to square one again of it staying on Apple sign for 5 mins before going off and doing the same again.As you can imagine i am not happy as warranty expired yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! ihone 3g Windows XP

HELP my iphone wont restore 3g

I connected my iphone to my MacBook and as usual he connects with iTunes.My iTunes asked for an update on the software of the phone. I confirmed and the process started.The update stopped but before finishing. I cant start up my iphone and when I connect it to my iTunes he asks to restore.He starts restoring but then stops and gives an error 1611.Can somebody help me??? iphone will not switch on at all 3g

Any ideas to help?On Christmas eve my iphone switched off and I could not get it switched back on until I put it on to charge at the mains. It has been intermittant the last few days.I have tried letting it run completely out of batteries and then fully charging it again, I have tried resetting it and restoring it 3 times on iTunes. Today it has been at its worst and now will not turn on at all. I tried to do a force reset but it failes each time I try the restore on iTunes. Battery drain after thetering via bluetooth on MacBook Pro 15 4 iphone 3g

For a second time after thetering via bluetooth with my MacBook Pro (15,4, 2,93Mhz, SL10.6.2, 4GRam) the battery of the iphone 3g (3.1.2) drains completly in 2 hours.I tried hard boot the phone, stop applications, wi-fi, bluetooth, push email and notifications, full charging cycle, restore and nothing seems to resolve the problem. I sent the phone to the mobile operator for support and I receive a new iphone 3g.Now after 1 month of usage of the new iphone 3g I needed thetering again and once again the battery of the new iphone strated to drain completly in about 2,5 hours.Can someone help? Screen just went crazy iphone 3g

I was just surfing the web on my phone when the screen went nuts. All sorts of lines and colors just showed up on the screen. I restarted the phone and the same thing happened as soon as it restarted. I decided to restore the phone and as soon as I plugged it in the screen went back to normal. I synced and restored the phone. This phone is a replacement phone I purchased from Apple about 2 weeks ago after I dropped my other phone. This phone has not been dropped or damaged in any way. Does this sound like a software issue or a hardware issue? Are the replacement phones that one purchases from Apple for $200 refurbs or new phones?Thanks! MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.2)

iphone wont sync says it only 4GB 3g

Hi,I jsut purchased a new notebook, a Qosmio X500, and downloaded the latest iTunes (64bit link as I am using Windows 7 64bit) Unfortunately when it is connected it removes all the info as if it is going to sync properly but then times out before it compeltes the sync, leaving me with nothing left on the iphone itself (iphone 3g 16gb).A quick google search suggested I make sure the power settings for the USB ports are turned off (so they dont power down during sync) which I have done but now it wont sync at all, tells me to set up a new iphone or restore, none of the restores work and the sync just wipes it again and wont sync any items. It also shows it as a 4GB iphone? wont recognise it as anything elseSome more googling suggest it is an intel PM55 chipset issue that iTunes doeswnt like....Has anyone else found a fix for this? Apple ID does not exist anymore?! iphone

I have tried to get updates for a couple of apps on iphone, only for it to tell me my password is incorrect. Entering the correct password 2-3 times sends you to a 'forgot password' page, but when I get there, it tells me that the 'Specified Apple ID does not exist.' Of course, it does, or at least has existed, and I've even had an email receipt from Apple dated 24/12/09 with my correct user name (that apparently no longer exists) in the corner. I've tried to access the store from iTunes on my laptop, but get exactly the same thing (wrong password then user name does not exist) & have no idea what's gone wrong. I do know there was an issue with AOL accounts some time back, so I changed it to my hotmail account & it has worked without problem up till now. I'm using the latest iTunes & iphone software updates. I've also done a full back up & restore...to no avail.

Last week my phone flaked on me. Has screen that says,IMEI and ICCID Ids are unknown. itunes will not see it. It also has a message to plug it into itunes. When I do it says something about the SIM card. Ive removed it and cleaned it (th SIM). This came-on without warning. One minute the world was fine the next: No music, Cam or phone. OK, here is my issue that if someone can actually solve, you are going to be my savior in iphone terms.First off, Im trying to fix my girlfriends iphone because she got the bright idea of having her friend jailbreak it. Well the jailbreak happened, and i guess it went according to plan. Well, a couple of days later, after installing some third party apps, the phone was acting up. So she went into her settings, and did the restore iphone to original settings or something like that. THEN, the iphone wouldnt recognize any cables i put in it, so the battery died and itunes would recognize it. I then bought her a new battery thinking that was the problem, installed it, and now the iphone just reboots continously until and sticks at the apple logo with the pin wheel. Sits there for about 5-7 minutes, and then it reboots again. I tried going into DFU mode, but the button sequence does not send it into DFU mode, (hold the sleep and home button for ten seconds, then let go of the sleep button) but still, nothing happens. I cant restore it because itunes wont recognize it. Any possible help would be great, i dont want it to become a paper weight. Thank you for your time. 3g iphone OS 3.1.2
