When I sync my iphone 4s or my ipad in itunes with the lates upgrade in itunes I don't see how I can organize my apps, to move them from one screen to the other. I've looked all over itunes as the device is syncing and I see nothing, use to be on the right side and you could drag from one area to the other. Anyone know?
can we get apple to make a fix to download that would enable the bluetooth file sharing with any deivce? i would like to to stay with Apple iphone but if they dont improve the lack of features.. i will move on and I know im not the only person to think like this. regardsgavin_p
I have tried different charger cords and they both don't work, if i wiggle it it will charge but if I move it a little it will not charge. Is there anything I can do or do I have to get a replacement?
Hi all, yesterday I had two requirements from my iphone 4 and none of them was fulfilled, so I decided that this is my last Apple device. If any of you can change my mind, go ahead a try. 1st, I wanted to copy a file (pdf) from my local drive at home and then open it in ezPDF Reader. So I used NetPortalLite to access my drive and downloaded the file inside the NetPortalLite. But when I wanted to move the file to ezPDF app it didn't let. Why it is so complicated to move files between apps? I have tried to copy in NetPortalLite, then paste in ezPDF Reader... it didn't work! 2nd, I wanted to access my local drive at home to run a video file. This function is available only in paid apps, although other mobile OS have this ability. Why it is not possible to browse local drives directly from the iOS or Safari? Is it so hard to implement this function to the iOS and make it available by SMB://IP_ADDRESS or \IP_ADDRESS? Thanks
Hi. I have a iphone 5. When I plug my phone In to charge it charges fine but it has to be plugged in perfectly straight. If I move or knock the charging adapter in the phone it will stop charging even though it is still plugged in the phone. The adapter seems like it only can be charged when it is in a certain position. This is obviously a fault. It is not my adapter as I have tried several different ones. There must be something wrong with the charging port on the iphone. What I would like to know would this be coved under apples warranty?
Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text.This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Bought Mail+ from the store. It won't connect even though I have given it correct the Comcast email adddress, password and incoming domain at least 6 times. It tries to connect for 4-5 minutes and then times out and makes me reenter everything. Two requests for help from their customer service have not been answered in last 48 hours and I'm about to dump the app and move on but I paid for it so hate to give up. Any suggestions?
Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening.. Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts.. AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc. -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not. SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up.. Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

the phone felt very warm after using it for about 30 minutes to move icons around, check email, browse the Web, and test a few apps. In fact, it became uncomfortably warm.

I currently have a several year old Samsung Flyte phone. I am included with my wife's account under the AT&T family plan. My "line" has no data plan linked to it - her iphone 4S and her sister's iphone 3 do. The contract with AT&T for my phone/line expired several months ago. I'm thinking about upgrading to an iphone 4, but I don't want to give up my existing phone number. And, I understand that the iphone uses a micro SIM card - different that other manufacturer's phones. I'm pretty sure that I'll need to add a data plan to my "line" - not a big deal. Ideally, we want to add another line to the wife's plan (without data) and give the Samsung phone to her mom, who lives with us. But, I do not want to loose my phone number. We want my new iphone to have my existing phone number and the Samsung for her mom to have a new number. Is this possible?
I know the straight talk iphone 5 is using Verizon's tower which is CDMA, but I also heard it can but use for any GSM sim card such as T-mobile and ATT. I just went to walmart and brought an straight talk iphone 5, but i have not open yet. On the back of the box it says the phone is model A1429, so I am really wondering if the straight talk iphone is GSM A1429 or CDMA A1429. I have an iphone 4 GSM unlocked using straight talk sim card. It works just fine, but is a bit slower compare to straight talk CDMA. I know the straight talk does not support LET, but if the straight talk iphone is GSM A1429 using CDMA 3G netwrok, I can switch to Tmobile LET 4G network when I move. Does anybody know?
Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). My sons iPod touch is on my account. When he adds an app it used to go on the last page of my iphone but now they end up installing on the second page and then move other apps around. Is there a setting to keep them only adding on my last page. Thanks so much, Phil
I bought my iphone 5 on december and its a great experience really fast but lately the camera app its lagging a lot the shutter is amazing but when i move around it lags my memory it's empty i only use 2 gb of the 13 avaible. I tried restoring but it keeps the malfunction. Is this a reason tu return it, i don't live in usa but i bought it from apple factory unlocked.
Trying to move old sim data to new iphone4s sim, but the old sim card is to big to fit in the iphone as instructed to do - any suggestions would be grateful of do i need to get this done at a shop??
I recently bought an iphone 4 through Craigslist, the guy who sold it said that it was with a carrier that I needed. But as soon as I inserted my SIM card it did not work! :(How do I find out the carrier that it's with? Whenever I shake my iphone 5 to the left and right, I hear something like a clicking noise. It's probably some time of metal object hitting other metal like there is something moving around in my iphone 5. I don't believe I ever heard this noise in my iphone 4 or 4S, and this noise is kind of bothering. Whenever my iphone vibrates, I can also hear this nose as well. Has anyone else experienced this?

iphone 4S. The lock symbol appeared and we could not get the slide function to work after pressing the home key.Tried a soft reboot (lock and home key), then a hard reboot. Neither fixed it.linked into Itunes and updated the OS to latest after backing up the unit.the slide function will dither but not move across to unlock the phone. the good news is the lock symbol is gone. the conclusion is the touchscreen has gone bad? any other suggestions. Is there a touchscreen recalibrate function? Thanks
last night my iphone 5 (6.1.2) randomly froze, it then wouldnt get past the apple logo, so i connected it to my laptop to Restore it (Which Failed) "Unknown Error (-1)" now my iphone is stuck on the recovery logo and doesnt move. I tried disabling the virus protector, deleting host files etc, but nothing seems to work, everytime i attempt to restore it, it gives me the same message. I dont mind deleting my files etc, but i would rather fix my iphone asap than to take it into an apple store (45min drive) Please help. Many Thanks...Danny
Cannot install Chrome browser on iphone 3GS, iOS version 6.1.2. I installed Adobe Edge Inspect which requires Chrome. App Store shows Chrome 'Free' button but it is greyed out and does not respond. When iphone is connected to iMac to sync apps, iTunes says Chrome is installed but there is no Chrome icon on my iphone. Rebooted iphone, uninstalled Adobe Edge Inspect and Google Chrome in iTunes, rebooted again, reinstalled Google Chrome - can see installation progress bar on iphone, but as soon as Chrome finishes installing, its icon disappears from iphone. Chrome is still listed in iTunes as installed but not visible on iphone. App Store will not let me re-download Chrome - says it is already downloaded. Going around in circles here! In desperation, also tapped Reset Home Screen in iphone Settings, which did indeed move my icons around but still no Chrome. Any ideas please?
My iphone 4s doesn't show my home wifi in the settings, yet my laptop and an old ipod touch of mine are both connected to the home wifi. This happens in my room, and for my iphone to recognize my home wifi, I have to leave my room and move closer to the router. I had recently gotten a new, stronger home router and my room is the farthest room away from the router, so at first I thought that was the reason. But it just does not make sense that my laptop is connected with the signal strength listed as "fair" and an older ipod touch(which has IOS 3.1.3) is also connected to my wifi, yet all three devices are right next to each other. I've tried turning the wifi on and off in the settings, I've turned off my phone so many times, and I've also resetted my phone and using icloud to back it up. Nothing is working, and I've been wanting to reset my phone completely and restarting it as a new phone, but I thought I should ask for an option on what I should do. please help!

I've been waiting for months to upgrade to iphone 5 because I haven't found a car kit available that's equivalent to my Belkin charger car kit for my 4s. It seems that by the time one comes out I may have gone elsewhere because if apple can't help me move forward someone else will. I'm losing faith in apple, they are dropping the ball and losing touch with how we use our mobile devices.
my home button will not work...however I have heard that there is suppose to be an appthat you can download that looks like a little red dot that you can move over where ever you want to go and click therefore to bypass the home button....does anyone know anything about this?If so would you please share the name of it? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Or could anyoneoffer any solutions to this button problem? I have tried the alchol thing...did not work. Thanks for any help.
i updated the operating system 3 days ago. Since the update the wifi does not work. when you try to turn it on , there is no possibility since the cursor is light grey. then 4 of my applications can no longer be opened , they crash.I called the apple service and i was told that sice my warrenty had expired by 20 days they could no longer help me.!!!!what the f...k.... i install your update and it sends my iphone haywire and now its my fault.The guy did agree with me so he told me to force a new installation and i installed the factory settings. Nothing has changed.... no wifi and the 4 apps crash.Can someone help me or at least give me an explication.My OS is 6.1.2Thanks
I have recently encountered a new Game Center error. The game I am playing is Five-O. My problem is that I can't play any moves. I get an error message. It says, "Game Center Error" "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again". I can create a new game just fine, but I only get the error message when I try and play a move. I tried it on both 3G and Wifi on my iphone 4S. My friend tried playing Five-O online on his phone and he had no problem. I have tried deleting and re-downloading the app. I tried deleting the app and then transferring it back to my phone via iTunes. I have signed out of Game Center and rebooted my phone, soft and hard. I contacted the developer to ask if there were any issues with the game and he said there weren't any issues and that it might be a Game Center issue. He suggested I try another game, so I downloaded Letterbox. With Letterbox, I got pretty much the same error message, except this message said "Uh oh! There was an error submitting your turn. Please try again. If that doesn't work, try closing the app and relaunching (Error #3)". Is my Game Center account screwed? Is there any way to save my account? It's the same e-mail I use for my Apple ID, so I would really like to avoid having to juggle two different accounts on my phone, just for gaming purposes... If anyone can please help me out, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much!

I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. I have this problem on my iphone 4, the calibration screen remains on all the time, whether I move in a figure of 8 or not the calibration message stays on, anyone had this problem?
I changed the front screen of my iphone 4 by myself and now it wont respond to me touching the screen. the screen is moving by itself, like the slide to unlock bar is moving left and right without me touching it and the notifications at the top when the phone is locked move up and down by themsleves. the apps are also opening by themselves without me touching the screen when the phone is unlocked. the home, souend, and sleep/power buttons work fine. i have reset my iphone but the screen is still going bizzare by itself. i still have no control at all. please help, my dad is not buying me another phone, nor can i let this phone break. also, the warranty is void because i opened the phone.
I love listening to music on my iphone, but suddenly yesterday, after playing the last song on an album, it just froze. I can move back to music menu, forward or even play the same album again. It's just stuck. Does anyone know how to clear it?
At times when I'm leaving the home screen or turning off the phone, the screen enlarges to the point you cannot read it or get it to move. The only way I've resolved thesis by shutting the entire phone and restarting. Anybody know why this is happening ?

The second comment I posted was before I noticed your first reply. Anyways I came up with the same answer as you did and thought maybe someone else would have been more successful in there research. Hi, Just tried to update my iphone 5 to iOS 6.1 through iTunes in WIndows 7. First time actually, usually I have been updating directly in the phone without any problems. When iTunes tried to update my phone it got an error, seems it didn't even got to begin updating it. Now iTunes keeps telling me I need to do a restore of the phone to be able to use it. Got the iTunes logo and a USB cabel on the screen. Anyhow, it seems to work untill it are ready to implement the restore on my phone. The apple logo and the progress bar appears but nothing happens, it just won't move. After a couple of minutes iTunes drops the connection to the phone and gives me an error code of 1611 and my phone goes back to the restore/recovery screen. Seems there is a problem with the USB transfer? The weird thing is that I've been synchronizing without any problems earlier. Though when iTunes was about to begin update it installed the Apple Mobile USB drivers again, perhaps that might be the problem? I have also followed steps in the support area with disabling security programs, reinstalling iTunes etc without any luck.
I just had the most unpleasant experience at a Verizon store. My iphone 4s would not hold a charge. I took it in foolishly thinking it was a matter of replacing a battery and was shown through a magnifying glass a pink spot in the headphone jack which they said meant my phone had been exposed to water. This, they claimed, voided the warranty and I would need a new phone at full list price. Never mind I have been a Verizon customer for longer than the store manager has been alive. I was dumbfounded. I treat this phone like my 3rd child. I am so in love with Siri, my sexual orientation has been called into question. This phone has never been in water or any unusually wet circumstances. Ever. When I told the clerk and the manager this, they asked if I ever used it in the bathroom or outside when it is humid. Seriously? The phone can't handle humidity? I asked them, if that is the case, how many customers come in with this issue? They refused to share that information. After much discussion, they said if they sent in the phone, Apple would not honor the warranty. My only choice, they said, was to buy a new phone. I have only had this phone since May. That's 8 months, folks. Before this phone, I had a Palm (yes, I know - insert cringe here) that went through **** and back and was still working years later when parts were held together with tape and I finally put it out of its misery. Now my much beloved 4S dies after 8 months and I am accused of murder. I asked them what would prevent the new phone from having similar issues and they said the headphone jack has been moved to the bottom. I asked if this indicated there was a design flaw with the 4s and they said no, it probably just saved Apple money to move it. If humidity is really the issue, I fail to see what difference the location would make anyway. Fast forward - I have a new iphone 5, an insurance policy on it and a very, very bad taste in my mouth. I own 2 ipods, an ipad and was just about to buy a 15" retina display laptop with a thunderbolt display. That $$$ purchase is now on hold. I have been an Apple fan since I bought the stock in the 80's and have converted a number of clients and friends to iphones. Now I worry they may be gathering in the foothills with pitchforks in hand. I am still in a state of shock, not knowing who deserves to be cursed - Apple or Verizon. Why is there an option to "Allow Calls From" and not "Deny Calls From"? What if I only want to block one number? It seems like THAT would be the purpose of "DND".
