This is my second iphone 5 on Verizon, I had the first one swapped but this one is t any better:/I tried restoring it AS NEW but no luck, my friends on att&t is fast, has great recpetion fast on wifi and letMine inside buildings is horrible and wifi is unusable!I know my wifi is fast bcuz my 4s is fast on it.The phone is also laggy. What could be wrong? I can't swap it again
Ever since upgrading to iOS 6.1.2 my iphone 4 has been laggy to the point of being unusable. Any app is slow n chunky, typing is painfully slow. Battery drains much faster.
I restored my iphone because I have hundreds of apps and wouldn't want to delete them. Well I don't want to exactly permanently delete them. I just want them off my iphone as it makes it laggy and kills the battery. So I backed it up. However, I am wondering if I can restore them after settting the iphone as a new iphone. The latter is an option which exists after you restored your iphone. I hope you know what I mean. I also wonder if you can restore one app at a time manually. Thanks
about 3 days ago i dropped my phone and the screen cracked. Although it was cracked it still worked fine with no issues and the new ios6 was installed prior to it breaking. I brought it to a iphone repair store where they fixed the screen. After a day i noticed the phone just turned itself off so i put it on the charger and returned and it was working. ever since then it has now shut off randomly for no reason, battery was either fully charged or more than 50%. I hooked it up to my computer to restore it today and it seemed to work for about 3 or 4 hours until it started to turn off on its own. i would restart it and it would work for a shorter and shorter period of time until now it wont stay on at all. i plugged it into the charger and it goes through the apple powerup screen and when it turns on it says searching for network in the top left corner. when i press apps and such it is very laggy and it eventually freezes and the screen fades to black and the cell phone turns off. I cannot get it to stay on now, even when it stays plugged into the charger...HELP PLEASE!!! is this an apple issue or something the repair shop may be responisble for?????
So just up until pretty recent, my iphone 4 (VZ) has been fine, now the home button isn't always working. This ONLY occurred after 5.1.1 too. One hour it will, the next it won't. After a recalibration, it works for a few clicks, then stops. Right now it's laggy and doesn't always register. Turing off and on, has it work for about 10 minutes. So I am pretty certain it is NOT a hardware issue, if it works and then stops, because when it does, it works perfect. Apple, you need to fix this. On top of that, having to PAY for support? Especially on such an expensive product, or even pay per incedent? That's pretty outrageous.
Hi i have a 16 gig iphone 4 and its been laggy and slow lately as well its been closing apps on me. I always close my apps and everything i also have a system log app that is showing constant errors. Help
iphone 4S, after updating to iOS5.1, it has become sloppy. Screen lags always occur and and all apps have become laggy compared to previous iOS version. The iphone also resprings itself suddenly (about once aday) where it goes black screen with a load circle in the middle for like 5 seconds then goes to the lock screen It is rather annoying as day to day use becomes sloppy and not as fast as before. Anyone have solutions or have the same problem as I do?
Since i got my iphone 4S just like two weeks ago, there has been some lag which freezes the phone for like 5 seconds. (the lock button does not lock during this, home button doesnt respond, no touch response etc.). Sometimes, the notification centre (swipe down function thingo) totally disappears, needing a system restart to appear again. Also, the network sometimes drops out completely and requires me to power off and turn it back on to work. (Internet and phone). Should i go to apple and demand a new iphone? or is it considered normal...
I just bought my iphone 4S from the Sacramento Apple Store, and i noticed the home button is a little bit laggy, i mean it moves when i push it both vertically and horizontally. It also does some strange "clicky" noise when doing that.Is that normal or should I ask for a replacement?
This is a refurbished unit which was given to me as a replacement for my original iphone 4. I am noticing that the iphone is just very laggy and slow with certain tasks. Such as opening/closing the camera applications, opening/closing the app store, downloading apps, loading up apps, playing games... the list goes on. Never really had these issues with my other iphone. I have done 3 software restores and I still notice the lag.Help! Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I have two laptops and 1 iphone:Home - Macbook ProWork - Windows 7 netbookiPhone - First hand, bought from my own service provider, never drop on the ground or goes into waterI only sync my iphone 4 with my mac before. 3 days ago I updated iphone firmware to 4.3, updated iTunes 10.2.1 in my mac, and installed iTunes 10.2.1 on my work laptop as well. I tried to connect my iphone to my work laptop to see if everything works well. And I also back up and sync my phone before and after the iphone firmware was updated. Everything seems fine.2 days ago, I was playing games on my iphone. My phone was suddenly being laggy. I rebooted my phone and then I tried to sync my iphone with my mac as usual. However, a message pops up saying This phone is already activated. You may disconnect disconnect this iphone. every time when I connect my iphone to my mac. So I pressed ok, but the phone kinda automatically ejects by itself from my mac iTunes. (i.e. iTunes no longer connects to my iphone. iTunes doesnt even show the iphone page and I cannot even restore my phone.)Yesterday I tried to restore my phone with my mac and my work laptop by putting it into DFU mode.1. After I restored the phone with my mac, I restored the back up with my work laptop after. After the phone was activated through windows iTunes, I connect the phone back to my mac and the same message pops up again saying This phone is already activated. You may disconnect disconnect this iphone.2. After I restored the phone with my mac, I simply set it as a new iphone. After the phone was activated through mac iTunes, the same message pops up again.3. I restored iphone with my work laptop. The phone stays connected with windows iTunes. After the phone was restored and set as a new iphone, the phone was activated but no such message pops out. I can sync my iphone like normal. No more automatic disconnection.I tried to remove mac iTunes 10.2.1 and downgrade it to 10.2, but the same problem occurs every time when I connect my phone to my mac.Since my work laptop is a netbook, the capacity is pretty small. I dont think my work laptop can always keep the 9GB back up of my phone, but the face is that I cannot lose all the stuffs in my phone. The best would be my phone being able to sync with my mac again.... Could someone help with this problem? Or is there any like technical support? Is there anyone who have the same problem as well? Guys, just asking !My iphone4 being a little bit laggy after uodate to ios 4.3At iphone SEARCH, when i write a friends name or another applications, and get in to my friends name Or another application, it always laggy, not smooth anymore, like in ios 4.2.1Do you guys have the same problem like me ?Btw im from indonesiaThanks guys... iOS 4
Well, I was told that my waiting to upgrade my 3GS was a great idea. Both ATT and Apple explained that with the newer phones, combined with the latest firmware, many nasty issues are gone. That would include the antenna problem. I received my new phone today. Much to my dismay, Im shocked to see that the antenna issue is most certainly not gone. It took putting a case on the phone just so it could be held in any sort of usual and sensible manner. The phone was useless as a phone without the case. So, if anyone has any ideas as to why this issue is supposed to be history, yet for me it is not?Secondly, I am having some serious stuttering/lag issues with this phone. My 3GS is actually more responsive, even with the 4.x firmware on it. One of the most irritating issues is with typing. I type a letter and the phone sets there like it is waiting on something. Forget about trying to type fast. Its not happening.Even backspacing to delete items is weird and laggy. Anyone? Dell XPS 420 Windows Vista
Is there anyway I can speed up my iphone 3G? Its running 4.1.2 if I downgrade to OS3 again will it improve things? The lag is really starting to bother me. I may just be used to my iphone 4 being quick but I do not remember the iphone 3G ever being this laggy on OS3. I just want some opinions before I downgrade. Its not Jailbroken or anything and only has 4 apps on it!Thanks,Phil.<Edited by Host> iphone 3G iOS 4
I updated my iphone today to iOS 4.2.1; however, I have found that the multitasking animation (lifting up the screen) and the exiting an app animation are laggy. I know this isnt a huge problem but does anyone else experience this? If you did, was there a way to fix it?Thanks 17" MacBook Pro (2009) Mac OS X (10.6.5) iphone 4 - iOS 4.2.1
Ok i have just updated to 4.1, only to find out that my iphone has 1 signal bar, texting is still laggy, maps still take time to load. after 4.0+ updates i have done nothing but drop calls and get failed calls, i rely on my phone and i guess we cant count on apple. android here i come. gateway
My question has probably been asked before but after searching the forum for a few days, I am unable to get a clear picture so I hope someone can help me.I just bought an iphone 4 and would like to know what is the correct way to migrate my iphone 3g backup onto it.I completely understand the part where i need to do a backup of the old one and then restore from this backup onto the new phone. My concern though is I have not upgraded my iphone 3g OS to iOS4, it is still running on 3.1.2. And after reading the stories of how other iphone 3g users have experienced having really slow phones after the upgrade, I am hesitant to do so.So finally here are my questions: 1. Can I restore my iphone 3g OS 3.1.2 backup directly onto my iphone 4? 2. Or is it essential to upgrade my iphone 3g to iOS4.01 first to have a compatible backup to restore from? I have read somewhere that a user had to wait 72 hours when they tried it(?).3. And does anyone know when iOS4.1 or iOS4.02 with hopefully the fix for the 3g laggy issue is coming out? Please help! Thanks! =D iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.2
Ok. Worked just like everyone else phone before the 4.0 update. No hacked/cracked or jail broken 3G just your average user here. After the LOOOONG update, my Battery life goes from an already shot life (but at least a day use) to 40 min to 1 hour of sloppy use and then the 20min warning that gives me not 20min BUT 3-5MIN!Phone is slow to open ITS own apps such as text. Ok trying to deal with my phone lagging 20-30sec just for the text app to show on the page, then typing much faster than the keyboard can keep up )Folks im a slow typer ok) and it lags to keep up with me! now remember it already is lagging so it takes 2-3 pushes of a contact name to even start the typing! All other apple apps NOTES opens slow laggy, the camera (oh lord dont let there be something i need to take a fast pic of because its was an already slow app now just SUPER slower..same with contact use or PHONE use. When I type in a phone number to call, nothing is shown on screen for a few sec! NOT EVEN 911!!!! bad apple, bad 4.0! this is nuts, hey, I paid for my phone like the rest of you, I got suckered into the 2 year FORCED contract that ATT has if you even want an iphone why is my phone laging, slow and at times frozen, even after a FULL reset through itunes??Oh and by the way, I did the test account (you know no apps installed but only apples, and still lag lag freeze! not to mention no solution for me other than PLEASE GO TO bla bla bla apple support and post there your problems, Thank you for calling apple, oh yes sir you do have the extra support that you paid for, but have a nice day and please do post on our website!!!!!!) YEP Thats my iphone 3G 4.0 software nightmare! cant even call 911 on time without a freeze or lag! thanks for any replies and reading my story,,(oh its much longer but i just did more full restoring so im extremely bent/tired) 2.1GHz, 20-inch, 1GB SDRAM,500GB HardDrive, Slot-load 8x double-layer SuperDrive Mac OS X (10.4.5) iphone 3G

I upgraded my iphone 3G using the restore method which in itself was trouble free. However, the whole UI is now sluggish and even worse, the Calendar app is PAINFULLY stilted. My MobileMe calendars are visible, but the screen freezes, after a pause (5-10 seconds); the calendars disappear! Then after another pause (10 seconds or so), they reappear!Generally, the whole phone feels laggy with button presses seemingly not responding and then the OS playing catchup.Anyone else had Calendar slow-down/pauses happen?Greg iphone 3G iOS 4 MobileMe contacts, calendars and email synced over the ai
Hey guys I have a question, the last couple weeks Ive been having to reboot the phone because it lags. Internet, typing a message gets laggy and slow, sometimes does 1-2 second pause. So is it bad for the phone or is it normal Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.6.2)
Hey everyone,Ive had an iphone 3G since its release, and I feel like over the last handful of months Ive noticed a lot of slowness with it. Apps (or even the text screen or settings screen) take a long time to load, typing text is EXTREMELY laggy, zooming in on maps takes forever, etc. I have restored the phone many times (at least every time there is a software update), and usually this increases speed dramatically at first. But a few days later, its back to its old slow self. I just wondered, is this typical of the 3G? Im fine with it if I just have to accept it, but I wondered if I maybe ought to make an appointment at the Genius Bar. Please advise,DB iphone 3G (16GB - Black) Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Okay, my iphone 3G today starting getting extremely laggy, so I decided to just reset it. I tried turning it off by holding the power button and sliding the red slider, but it was just hanging at the black screen for awhile. After a bit I just decided to hold down the power button and the home button to reset it, and it turned off. When I tried to turn it back on however, it showed the silver apple logo, then shut off after a little bit. Now it just shows the silver logo for a bit then turns itself off. Any thoughts or suggestions? iphone 3G 16GB Black iphone OS 3.0 Not working :(
i dunno if it is just me, but it seems as though my phone got very laggy after that update...and this new search page right before your regular home page is kinda weird, and laggy as well...is there anyway to get rid of the search page...on the bright side...i do love the new features...copy, paste, mms, etc... =) Windows Vista
Got a refurb 3G 16GB the other day and couldnt figure out which SIM to use with it (they give you the SIM eject tool for a reason, I thought) so I just used the one that came with the 3G phone. No dice - activation never happened. Used my SIM from the 2G and it activated, but a slew of problems followed, such as prolonged loss of 3G and EDGE with long no service states and super-laggy performance with the phone being basically useless for 10, 20+ minutes at a stretch. It also occasionally resets itself. I tried going to EDGE only mode, doesnt seem to help.Tried using the new SIM again and it just wont activate. Tried restoring to factory new with both SIM cards. Same results.AT&T says I need to talk to Apple. Local Apple store wont have a Genius Bar slot that I can get into until Thursday. AT&T store said they have no refurb units to replace my refurb with. ...Argh! 3G 16GB Refurbished iphone
Hi AllI migrated to a 3G iphone from my first gen iphone about 8 months ago and slowly, but surely, things have started behaving badly. Itunes wont auto sync and its all a bit laggy. Ive tried a number of things but I think there are issues with the original install on the 2G that remain today. What I would like to do is rebuild it from scratch. But there is some stuff that I would like to keep like SMS messages. Does anyone know how I can get all the of the component elements out, rebuild the phone and then replace them once its all nice and clean?Any help would be much appreciated.thnaksGideon iMac, 3gb RAM Mac OS X (10.5.6)
So I have had my 3G iphone for about a month now, and everything has been smooth. Earlier today I encountered a few odd problems that led into a big issue rendering me unable to use the phone at all.I at first had noticed not receiving a call I was expecting, and it displayed a 0-bar signal, changing to a NO SIGNAL message. I was just going to wait it out and started to play Bejeweled 2 on my phone when it appears laggy and crashes out of nowhere and reboots. After this it just keeps rebooting and flashing out at random times until I plut it into iTunes to reformat. When I try to do a Restrore, it clears the phone and comes to load the backup to it, giving me an error that it cannot read the SIM card for some reason.. so I replace it and it finishes, giving me the music and texting only from the older files. I have lost my contacts, my applications, my email settings, etc. and it still only displays NO SIGNAL and continues to restart itself.PLEASE HELP! Dell Studio 1510 Windows XP
Ever since i got my iphone 3G every so often when typing an sms, the keyboard is VERY laggy. by VERY i mean it probably take about ..... 10 or so seconds before the letter gets inputted. it is very frustrating trying to type and would really like to fix it.Does anyone know if i can fix it somehow? MacBook Pro 17" 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac OS X (10.5.4) 1 TB IOMEGA External Hard Drive. Windows Vista Ultimate (Parallels), iPod Video, iphone, iPod Touch
Many people like myself have been experiencing veeeeeeeery slow typing in the sms application, even after updating to 2.0.2, though I think Ive found a way around it.It seems the typing lag can be avoided if you type a character, move the cursor to be in front of that character, then continue typing. Its strange but it definitely works for me. I usually sign off a text with my name, so I just type that, then move the curser to the front and start my message. If anyone else is having laggy typing issues, give it a try and let me know if its not just me! This is my 3rd replacement from Apple Store, the crashing and Silver Apple of Death still occur frequently. Apple should pay me back my time and gas to do numerous restores, wait in line and exchange! The supposedly cool Apple logo at the startup now becomes an omen to crash. The worst news is on Sept 1st, Best Buy will start selling the unready iphone 3G. Apple is trying too hard to rush the iphone 3G out for more market shares with the sacrifice of quality control in software and hardware before the Google Android phones infiltrating the world by the end this year. The stability of the iphone is even worst than any Windows Mobile Device I have ever used, comparing to Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Sharp, HTC, Motorola, Samsung. If you think iphone reception problem is one of the biggest issue, lets start another long post for Silver Apple of Death.I have tried to download apps online directly from iphone, syncing one by one with iTunes, using the latest 2.0.1 firmware and 7.7.1.11 iTunes following directions from this forum on how NOT TO sync Apps with iTunes, etc. My phone at the end still crashes numerous times!!!!!Since the 2nd replacement, I have been downloading Apps directly via iphone and never sync with iTunes except backing up. But when I get my 3rd replacement and restore the 2nd replacements backup image, all apps arent working. The apps bounce back to the menu, so I have to uninstall one app and reinstall it to reactivate the rest of the apps. Its been pretty stable but slow and laggy for 2 days after restoring from the 2nd replacement image to 3rd replacement phone. Then suddenly when I start to install an app, the older apps that arent shown in the menu pop out. All apps are trying to do UPDATE ALL without my authorization. I know thats going to be the Silver Apple of the Death.Im sick of this stability issue! I even always have my Windows Mobile Phone with me as a backup, how ironic! Microsoft used to be unstable, now Apples iphone is even the worst of the worst in terms of stability! iphone 3G 16GB White Windows Vista Windows XP and Windows Vista

Im note sure if im the only one, but when i type with they keyboard when i sms text it takes alike a lag of 2 second per letter i tap. I text my friend alot that has verizon. I had verizon before and never had a problem. I just got the iphone 3g and it takes forever sometimes for him to get my text messages or for me to get his. Any idea why this is? Sometimes we dont recive for up to an hour or they get my message a day later? Does anyone know about this problem or how to fix it? Also when im typing on the iphone the keys are very laggy. and takes a little to come up. Ill hit a key and will take acouple secounds for it to show I hit it. These are both very frusterating. Any tips would be apprciated.
