With new podcast app. How do you delete the podcast you no longer want on iphone .

I can download subscribe podcast through iTunes using wire but not wirelessly through new podcast app. iphone 3G

Matt00 was nice enough to suggest a solution to no avail. I feel it's a bug in the new app that hopefully will be fixed in next fix.  I wouldn't mind using a wire through iTunes but now using a Mophie juice box for a iphone 5, their wire won't download or manage iTunes. They admitted they can't but could with a iphone 4.  Any other suggestions anyone.  I can't believe I'm the only one.  Subscribed podcast are Rush Limbaugh 24/7 and Kim Komando 24/7.PS:  It's very difficult to remove the Mophie juice box from the iphone 5.

Where are EQ settings in podcast app iphone 3G

Am I missing something?   The EQ setting from the "Music" app do not carry over to the "podcast" app....There isn't even any individual app settings for "Podcasts" like there is for "Music".... Please Help.....

The devices in question are an iphone 5 and a 3rd generation iPad, both run the latest iOS bits available and I am signed in with my Apple Id on both devices.  The behavior I'd like to experience is:the settings (Stations and Podcasts within Stations and particular podcast settings) set on one device just show up on the other device.both devices show the exact same played, partly-played and unplayed podcasts in their stations. Isn't this the way things should "just work" in the Apple world?  The reason for asking is that my two devices do not seem to talk to each other and cannot locate a way to get them to synchronize. Thank you,  eugen

I subscribe to a podcast that has the "explicit" tag. I was able to listen to it until a couple of days ago.  Looking under my "Restrictions", "Allowed Content" has "Music & Podcasts" set to "Clean" and the option is grayed out; I can't edit it.  Any thoughts on how to allow all conent or what I might be doing wrong?  Thanx for your help and expertise.

This morning, I updated to the newest podcast app (version 1.2.1), as well as the newest iOS version (6.1.3). Now my Podcasts app doesn't have speed control! I read a review online that said it's supposed to look like this: But instead, mine looks like this, without all the features at the top:  Am I missing something? Is there a way to customize it to show all those things at the top? Or did the new updates break something? Please help, since the speed option is the single most useful feature of Podcasts! Thanks

Whatever problems the old app had, at least it allowed me to speed up or slow down the playback, as well as let me see how far along I was in listening. This new & improved podcast app - while thankfully devoid of pointless animation - seems not to have these features any longer. I've downloaded the latest update (that makes 2 including when it lost these functions) & can find nothing in the app or in setting that restores them. I've also restarted the app, as well as the phone itself, with no change. Anyone know what's going on? Did Apple drop these features intentionally? If so, that's a huge problem for me. Thanks

Okay, here's my situation.  I was recently given a iphone 3GS that I was thinking of using an iPod touch (i.e. no cellular data -- just wifi).  My car, an Audi A6, has iphone/iPod integration as well as a built-in WiFi hotspot (using a Tmobile SIM built in to the car).  I have a long commute so I listen to a lot of podcasts.  I thought it would be cool if I could subscribe to x number of podcasts and have them automatically download/udate without having to touch the 3GS -- just do all the controlling via the car's interface.  The problem it doesn't seem like podcasts are downloaded to the "podcast" directory in the phone anymore (thank you iOS 6 and Apple's podcast app).  Since my car's interface will only stay in the "Music" directory, is there anyway to automatically get podcasts into that directory so I control them using the car's interface?  3rd party app perhaps?  Any suggestions? Thanks!

Old podcasts not getting deleted iphone 3G

Why is it on all my iOS devices when ising the podcast APP I chose in the setting to keep only unlistened podcasts but what happens is they remain on my device but only get removed from the unplayed list in the podcast APP itself. You can plainly see how much content is stored on the device when I connect to itunes it shows that I have hardly any space left. Also when I connect via USB to my car  the radio displays that I have 343 songs on the device when I actually have only about 30 songs and the rest are old podcasts left hidden by the podcast App that should have been deleted. Please make a fix available in the next update...

Am I missing something?  In the podcast app in iOS6 on my iphone 4, I have lost the information that used to display onscreen with podcasts.  "Lyrics & podcast Info" is set to on in Settings/Music, and I've done a reset.   As an aside, the titles in podcasts no longer scroll either, and I've submitted both these things to Apple via their feedback form.  Before I restore, is anyone else having this problem?

I an unable to delete podcasts from my iphone. When I delete it from the iphone on the computer and then sync it the podcast is still there when I next use it, even though it doesn't show up on the iphone device in iTunes on the computer any longer. iTunes thinks its gone but it is not.  I cannot find any way to delete it directly from the music app locally on the iphone itself. Can anybody help?

When I download a podcast directly to my iphone or iPad and listen to it I expect it to reflect that status when I come home. Instead the podcast downloads again in iTunes and then wonderful joy it changes the status to unplayed and I wind up having to figure out what I've listened to and what I haven't (I listen to a lot of 'em).

iphone keeps automatically playing paused songs at end of calls.

I have an iphone 4, iOS 6. I often use it to listen to podcasts in the podcast app. I will pause these, then return to them later. Whenever I speak on the phone (this has happened both receiving and making calls), when I hang up it automatically unpauses the podcast and starts playing it. This occurs in situations where I hadn't been previously listening to the podcast so it's super annoying to hear a loud voice pop out of my iphone speakers for no reason, and a hassle to get over to the podcasts app to make it stop. I don't know whether this is an issue with the podcasts app or with my phone (maybe the new iOS?) Has anyone else had this problem?

Data overages since updating to iOS 6-fixed and solution iphone 3G

How do I go from 300mb per month for the past year to 3 gigs in one month? iOS 6 and podcasting being removed from the OS.  After updating my 4s with iOS 6, my data usages more than quadrupled from 300-400mb per month in the past year to 3 gigs in a month since updating. My usage was the same. So I decided to monitoring my daily usage and made it a point not to use the 3g and was getting 100-200 mb a day in usage still.  Then I realized that ever since podcasting was removed from the OS and made into an seperate app it was checking and downloading podcasts automatically even when wifi wasnt available  I did the following and my usage is back to normal again.  Setting>Podcasts> Turn off Sync Subscription and Turn off Use Cellular Data (I had this turn off, even when I was getting overages) Also do the following: Launch the podcast AppGo to Library>>For each podcast> Expand the settings by clicking the "right arrow" next to podcast name and uncheck auto-download. There seems to be a bug that when "Auto-Download" is check it downloads whenever a podcast is available even though iOS 6 was told not use cellular data for downloading in the setting above. I also think the app is refreshing and check for new episodes through the 3G as well I now go into each podcast and manually download each new episode when I am near a wi-fi connection (Make sure the 3G icon is replace by the wifi icon on your iphone). You can still force the podcast to use 3G by manually downloading them when wifi isnt available.  Hope this helps and they fix it. AT&T told me before I figured it out, it was not their problem and apple told me there are no issues with sudden overages with iOS 6. Happy Podcasting, Bang P.

bluetooth streaming issue iphone 4S

So I have an issue that's verry annoying, but I fear there's nothing to do about it. I want to find out if the issue lies with apple or my car radio company. I have a problem with my car radio. It's a stock Seat Ibiza 2012 radio with bluetooth built into it. I can make a phone call, but I can't stream my music to it. My iphone seems to think it can. When I play music, I can select the car radio to stream the music to, but when I do that, there's simply no sound. Nowhere the car radio says it can stream via bluetooth. Now here comes the actual problem. I'm listening to my music or podcast the old fashion way, with a jack cable to the aux input of my radio, when I receive a call. I pick up the phone with my bluetooth radio and start chitchatting. When I hang up, the iphone seems to think "Hey, let me just turn the audio back on and since I just stopped a bluetooth conversation, the audio can just play through bluetooth". I was listening to it through the cable, so start playing again through the cable! iphone: should've remembered it was playing through the cable and not through bluetooth streaming. It also should not show the car radio being able of streaming, cause it isn'tcar radio: shouldn't pretend it's capable of streaming while it actually isn't.car radio manufacturer: should've just added streaming to the software, because clearly, the hardware is capable of doing it, so if it could just stream, there wouldn't be an issue!!!

What i've found is that if I have a missed call while the phone is in my pocket, the music/cast starts playing again, randomly, often in the middle of meetings. I downloaded the podcast app.  Normally I listen to podcasts to which I have subscribed by pressing the Music icon / more / podcasts.  However, after downloading the podcasts app, many old podcasts now appear.  I do not see a way to delete them.  When I sync to my computer they still remain.  How do I get rid of the old previously heard podcasts.

I tried to install the new podcast app from the App store on my 32GB iphone 4S, which otherwise appears to work fine.  But the podcast app doesn't seem to appear on my phone, although when I search for it on the phone, the search brings me to it, but I can't find the app icon ANYWHERE on the phone.  I have tried deleting the within Settings and (1) it is there and (2) I can delete it.  But I can't find it anywhere on the phone (obviously eithe before I deleted it or even after I reinstalled it).  I have installed hundreds of apps, all without problem, but this one doesn't seem to show up.  I have more than 2 GBs of space left on the phone and can't figure it out.  I am an avid user of the iTunes U app, but I wouldn't think that would casue a problem. Looking forward to any insights on how to resolve the problem.

iBooks mixed epubpdf books fail to display in bookshelf iphone 3G

Problem description: A mix of downloaded .pdf and .epub books sometime fail to display in iBooks bookshelf. The books are on the iphone, but not all will display. The previously-searched item in the iBooks search box affects whether they display -- even though the search box is later cleared. Apparently the iBooks app is caching the search entry and erroneously maintaining a filtered set of books, even though the search box is cleared. I've only observed this with a mix of .pdf and .epub books. Epub books by themselves don't cause it. The .pdf book was part of podcast, which iBooks picked up.  If anyone else experiences missing books from the iBooks bookshelf, I recommend: (1) First verify the books are in iTunes library under "Books"(2) In iTunes make sure devices->iphone->books are set to sync your books(3) Re-sync(4) If book is not displayed in iBooks, search for it anyway. Since updating my iphone 4S to iOS 5.1.1 I have been having problems with iTunes. The app is extremely slow, taking ages to load pages and it's all-but-impossible to synchronize and update podcast feeds. Is there an acknowledged issue with this and is Apple working to fix it? Is there a work-around (e.g. downgrading back to iOS 5.1)?

Voice control starts spontaneous while running. Please Help iphone 4S

Hi, I love to run and use my iphone 4S for tracking and hearing podcasts during the run. But always after about 6 miles my iphone drives me crazy. Voice control starts and interruptsthe podcast and asks me something. Then I have to stop running, turn it off and after some hundrets again voice control interrupts again. My solution now is to stop my podcast and I finish unhappy in the middle of my podcast. Has anyone of you an idea how to stop voicecontrol? Thanks

Can no longer download podcasts to my iphone . Help

I listen to several podcasts and up until just this past week, I would be able to download new podcasts anytime. Now when I'm listening to the podcast in the Music app and I click on "Get More Episodes . . . ." and it opens up the iTunes App to the page to download more episodes of that podcast. But then the page never fully loads and none of the "Free" buttons will engage. So I can't view the whole list of podcasts and I can't even download the ones I can see.  

Why Voice Memos show up in my Music library iphone 3G

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Voice Memos sync from your iOS device into your Music library, instead of into their own section??  Under Media Kind, there is a tag for "Voice Memo" (just as there is a tag for Music/Audiobook/podcast/Video etc), but even when it is tagged as Voice Memo, it still shows up in Music.  Shouldn't ther be a separate section under Library in iTunes for Voice Memos?  There is a separate section for Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Books, Apps, Tones, and Radio - but not for Voice Memos!!!!!  This a function I use all the time and it's annoying that it is not properly categorized.  And it's especially annoying - not to mention embarassing! - when I am playing music from my library and a voice memo comes on!  Some of those are private thoughts, like journals!!!!!  Super awkward when there are people around. I have resorted to changing the Media Kind to Audiobook so that it at least is grouped with other Spoken Word files, rather than with my Music.  Apple, please fix this!!! I found this post from another user who also agrees with me.  Ceres1, if you're out there, any updates on this issue?   Ceres1Helpful AnswerRe: Keeping Voice Memos Out Of My Music Library Sep 15, 2009 9:55 AM (in response to XWiz) This is a bit annoying! If you examine the file info for the voice memo file within iTunes, it does have Media Kind correctly tagged as "Voice Memo" rather than "Music", but it still shows up under "Music". I don't mind the files being in iTunes, but they should be treated separately like Video, Podcasts, Ringtones, etc.... Have sent feedback to Apple and suggest everyone else do the same. C. 

HOW TO SYNC YOUR RINGTONES TO iphone

Hi,Doesn't work for me.When I try to drag my created ringtone from music library to library with a "bell" (where my bought ringones are) under my phone, the hole group with librarays are ligthed up (music, film, podcast, Ringtones...). And when i release the ringtonde file it only shows up in music librarary, not in the ringtoned library. When looking at file info it  looks the same as the bought ringtone (except i can't edit all info in the bought one). I have tried with to version 38 seconds and 20 seconds with the same result (the bought one is 30 seconds), it will not showup in the Ringtones libraray. To me it seems Apple has blocked the function to create your own ringstones to force people to buy them instead... Need help please. (I have a Swedish version where for example Ringtones acutally is named "Signaler", iTunes version 10.5.3.3) Sorry for the poor english.. Br Mats

Sound from Music App garbled excess reverb echo like iphone 4S

I am experiencing a sound distortion when listening to my Music app. It sounds like a reverberation on a small band of frequencies, towards the lowere end, almost echo like, giving a garbled background noise to the sound. This is hardley percievable with music, but heard very clearly in voice programs such as my podcasts. This reverb/echo is not present with sound from other apps - phone calls do not experience this, YouTube videos do not have this in the audio, nor does streaming audio from other apps such as the Public Radio app. This is only present in the Musc app. I've restarted the phone but the sound persists. I've also gone in to iTunes and adjusted the sound level under the Options tab of the info window, and reloaded all of the podcast files. No change. This is heard through the headphones, through my car's audo system, and also through the built in speaker of the phone. I don't use any bluetooth audio devices so I've not tested that.  Any explanation? iphone 4s with iOS 5.01

iphone 4S Scrubber video controls won't appear during playback

I've had my 4S for about 2 weeks.  A few days ago, I started having an issue where the video scrubber (play/pause/rev/ff control bar) won't appear on the screen while a video is playing.  I touch the screen multiple times in different areas of the screen; sometimes the controls will appear after 10-15 tries; other times, it won't ever come up, and I'll have to press the home button or sleep/power button before anything will happen.  This only happens while watching a video (podcast, home movie, transferred DVD rip, etc.)  All other apps work as advertised, regarding screen response. At the beginning, when this would occur, I'd touch the screen again and again with one finger, then the scrubber would re-appear, but when the video had been finished, I'd return to the home screen and all would be ridiculously magnified to the point that one icon would take up the majority of the screen, and I'd have a **** of a time to get to a slider control or anything until I'd reset power, then all would be normal again.  I think I've fixed that issue by disabling the screen magnification accessibility feature on my iphone...the iphone would think that I was touching the screen with three fingers when trying to get the video scrubber bar to appear during video playback, even though I was only using one finger. Still having the video playback/scrubber bar issue though.  Searched the forum and found this issue related to an iPad, but couldn't find any mention of it with an iphone.  Any comments/suggestions?

Headset not registering on iphone 4S

Even though I have my headset plugged in, audio will only playback through the speakers.  I've tried listening to different sources (podcast, music, etc.), and tried using the headset to make calls, but it doesn't do anything.  It's as if it thinks there aren't headsets plugged in. Suggestions? Thanks, Kris

Sound only coming from one speaker iphone 4S

Whenever sound plays from my iphone 4s, it only comes out of one of the speakers (the bottom right one, if looking at the phone). If I cover that speaker up, I don't hear anything coming from the other speaker. Is that normal? I've tested with videos on Youtube, notification/ringer sounds, listening to a podcast. Sound only comes out of that one speaker.

iphone 4s unable to sync due to timeout error.

Hi, first time poster, long-time reader. Anyway, here's my problem:  I keep all my music on an external hard drive to keep it from filling up my Macbook Pro's internal hard drive.  Lately, everytime I plug in my iphone 4s, the syncing process starts, only to get stuck on "Step 6 of 6: Waiting for changes to be applied," at which point the progress bar refuses to move when syncing my podcasts onto my iphone.  It'll stay there for minutes before finally giving up and hitting me with the warning message: "iTunes could not copy [file x] to the iphone "[my iphone]" because a timeout error occurred."  At which point the progress bar goes back to the "finishing sync" stage while bringing up the error message on the 4s: "1 item could not be synced, see iTunes for more information."  The eject/sync button next to the iphone icon in iTunes' left window then stays in the sync mode indefinitely (or until I finally decide to unplug the iphone).  I've tried not syncing the file in question, but iTunes then proceeds to get stuck on another separate podcast file (even when I uncheck "sync all podcasts" from the iphone menu on iTunes it still refuses to move the progress bar).  Does anyone have any idea what the heck I am doing wrong? I have: iphone 4s running 5.0 firmwareMacbook Pro (Late 2009 model)iTunes ver. 10.5.1

I bought an iphone 4S from m1 shop almost 2 weeks ago, and found out the battery life is really fast (It seem to be like same as iphone 3GS) and IOS 5 software for ipad 2, why don't have this setting call: LYRICS & podcast INFO?

Please only post battery life for the iphone 4S here, good or bad. Just usage, standby time and battery % left. I want to get an idea of people's averages out there. No complaining about poor battery life, there are other posts on here for that. Here's my usage history. I switched my 4S on yesterday morning (29 October) at 7:45am (at 100 percent). I played a game for 25-30 minutes. Connected my 4S to my TV via my Apple Digital AV Adapter and watched a video podcast for around 10-15 minutes. Listen to a couple of audio podcasts for around 10 minutes, sent a couple of text messages, had a 3 minute telephone call, wirelessly synced with iTunes for around 10 minutes on and off. I switched my 4S off at around 11pm last night. I switched my 4S on at 8am today (30 October). I have had the screen on for around 5 minutes on and off whilst I was going through some settings, I have taken a couple of pictures which were then sent to iCloud via my wifi.  So far my stats are: Usage= 2 hours 55 minutes Standby 15 hours 16 minutes  And my battery is on 54 percent.  Does this seem to be what is/can be expected/normal for the battery on the 4S or would you say I have a defective battery. I'll admit, with iOS 4, I would probably have had more battery life left, but iOS 5 probably has more processes running so comparing it to iOS 4 isn't a fair comparison perhaps. I look forward to seeing your usage, standby times from your iphone 4S's.

Crash while using iPod App iphone 4

Sometimes, while Im listening to a podcast and press the home button to wake up the screen, my iphone 4 momentarily shows the Apple logo and restarts. Its much quicker than a regular reboot though. Does anyone know why this happens? Is it just a regular crash? Ive only noticed this happening since the 4.3 update.Everything else with my phone seems to be working fine. iMac 20-inch 2.66GHz, iphone 4 Mac OS X (10.6)

Vanishing apps mid-use iphone 4

Im having a problem with all the apps from the Applestore vanishing on my phone. I have searched and found others with disappearing app problems, but most seemed to be related to update issues or syncing problems. My problem is seems to be unique as far as I can research as they vanish while the phone is in mid-use. Saturday morning (March 12), I ejected my iphone 4 (running iOS 4.3, not jailbroken) from my mac (running iTunes 10.4.1, on OSX 10.5.8) as normal and went to work. On the train I used several of my apps and all was working as usual. As I got off the train, I went to check in on foursquare and noticed that it was gone. In fact, all my applestore apps were missing. Three pages of folders, gone! All the apps originally installed on the phone were still there and working normally, but all the free and bought apps were no where to be seen. I did a hard reset and the apps were still gone. The phone seemed to be working normally otherwise.When I returned home, I connected it to computer . It began to back up the phone and then did a normal sync. Under the apps tab, I noticed that all my apps were now unchecked, as if they had not been loaded into the phone previously.Tried to restore from the most recent backup prior to the problem. But in the middle of updating and I got the message, The iphone “MYNAME’s iphone” cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items. Would you like iTunes to delete enough photos and photo albums from the iphone to make room for the songs? How could that be if the backup was not that large? Even after getting rid of all my photos and movies, there was still NOT ENOUGH space for all the applications. That is strange and makes me think the apps that vanished this morning were still there but invisible and still taking up space. I then tried a factory restore of the phone, then backed up from an older back up (made two days ago when I updated to 4.3). Finished with full factory restore and back up. This seemed to work but interestingly enough, the back up restored everything including all the apps, but ONLY some of my folders (wouldnt it be all or none, as it is a backup from a time when the folders were there?). Also, only a few apps were in the few folders that were present whereas the rest were on the many home screens that followed. Spent an hour making new folders and reorganizing the 10 pages of apps back into 3 pages of folders. Things seemed to be okay for a while. Later that night, plugged my phone back into the computer before bed as is my routine. It backed up and did a sync as usual. Sunday morning I ejected the phone and used it throughout the morning. The battery seemed to be draining fast, so in the afternoon I connected back to iTunes. I got an error message saying the phone could not be backed up. It asked if I wanted to continue on and sync the phone. I did. It synced. I ejected and then reconnected it to see if it would back up properly but the backup ran for more than an hour before I gave up. iTunes was stuck. I had to force quit and manually eject the phone. I restarted the computer and iTunes. Plugged the phone in again. Got a message that the phone was being ‘verified’, then after a few minutes, the backup proceeded and the phone synced as normal. For the next two weeks, the phone operated semi-normally. The only abnormal behavior was sometimes apps would quit and I’d get the silver-apple screen that is shown during a reboot or shutdown, but this could not really be, as seconds later the home screen appeared. The only other strange behavior was the battery, which seemed to drain abnormally fast (at 2~3 times normal).Two weeks later, on Tuesday (March 22), apps vanished again in mid use. Connected the phone to iTunes. Cancelled the backup and sync. Restored from that morning’s backup. Mid-way through the restore, I got the message again, The iphone “MYNAME’s iphone” cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items. Would you like iTunes to delete enough photos and photo albums from the iphone to make room for the songs? Clicked yes. Then I got a new message, “The iphone “MYNAME’s iphone” cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items (1 MB required, 6.5 MB available). Would you like iTunes to turn off podcast syncing for this iphone?” Said yes. But sync was not successful. Again, did a factory restore and backed up from the morning’s backup.Something wrong with the physical unit? Has anyone else see this behavior? iMac 24" Mac OS X (10.5.8) iphone 4G 32g

iphone 4 shows wrong Album art when playing music.

Dear,Since today my iphone displays the wrong album art when playing songs. The album art belongs to other songs that are on the iphone. The playlist iphone in Itunes that syncs with the iphone shows the correct album art in Itunes, but the iphone displays the wrong album art. I have never had this problem on my iphone 3G in 2 years, and not until recently on the iphone 4.I have no clue why this happens, only in the weekend I subscribed to - and installed- a podcast for the first time. I have never used a podcast before.I doubt that enabling a podcast has something to do with it, but besides installing some new apps, that was the only change compared to the situation when everything was normal (last Friday).Ive seen some other discussions about this issue, possibly a restore could fix this, but I see that as a last resort..Thank you for your time, iphone 4 iOS 4
