iphone 5 home button

A family member and I swapped iphone 5's a few days ago, and even before we switched I noticed that their home button was creaking when you applied some pressure to it. Not necessarily pressing down on it to wake up the screen or anything like that. Also, when i do fully press down on it, it feels inconsistent and makes those creaking noises. The phone was purchased in January so it's well within the standard 1 year warranty. Is this a problem any of you have experienced? I would like to know if this is worth going to the apple store for or just learning to live with. Thank you!

I just bought my iphone 5 one month ago then i realise my camera was not functioning, It always stuck in black screen when i try open the camera apps. I found out there are actually many people who bought iphone 5 suffered this problem when i try to look for resolution online. I want to go for warranty but my phone got dent on it's appearance. Therefore, apple told me that my phone was unable to warranty. However, my purpose to warranty is to fix the camera instead of the dent on my phone. Can apple fix my camera problem? I really feel sad and regret for purchase the phone now because of the problem i am facing now.  Hopefully apple can give me a satisfied answer. iOS 6.1.4 Overheating High Battery Consumption iphone 5

Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.Battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.

i have just had my iphone 4s lcd repaired and black spots are on screeen

i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced.  I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks

I dropped my phone with an otterbox defender case on the phone on its back, directly following the fall (maybe 3ft) the screen remains black, however, the phone is still on because I get text messages and emails. I believe that the digitizer may have been dislodged from the logic board. Should I investigate the phone myself or take it in, mind you the nearest apple store (grrr) is almost 60 miles away.

Hello,Starting from a few weeks ago, my iphone 5 has been functioning on its own accord. While swiping around the home screen or typing some things on the keyboard, the keys would magically press on its own. I had thought this was due to some hacking and turned off all forms of data, but the problem still persists. Is this a display issue?

My iphone wont turn on after updating

My iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iphone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.  In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iphone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iphone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.  Note: The replacement front screen on iphone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

Hey guys, my iphone 5 was bought in December at Bestbuy. I just made an appointment at the Genius Bar and I wanted to ask some questions about the one year warranty included with the phone. My phone had been working fine for the past six months and it's never been treated harshly ( I've always kept a good case on it and a screen protector ) however yesterday my lock button stopped working... whenever I click it the phone does not respond to it. The phone is basically new when taken out of the case and the only reasonable explanation for this, in my opinion is a defect of manufacture that recently showed up. I'm wondering what will apple do when I take my phone in? Will they replace it for another? Attempt to fix it? Will any charges be present? And what should I bring just incase they decide to replace it ( ex. headphones, charger?)  Thank you.

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

I have been trying to restore it (being the screen said to connect to itunes) but when I went through the restore process, itunes recongnized it, it went through what appeared as all but the last second of restoring when I got a " The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. Touch screen Insensitivity iphone 5

Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity  of iphone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.

There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)

So here goes... I have broken the screen on my iphone 5, it is completly shot but  i can plug it in to itunes. The problem is that i have a passcode on the iphone so i am unable to bacup the phone in itunes as i can not enter the passcode.Is there any way i can remotley access the phone and enter the passcode. I have a new iphone 5 and want to sinc it with the data on my old phone, If anyone can suggest a way around this i would be forever in their debt. I have no old bacup or icloud or the like. Problems with iphone 5 home buttonnetwork connections

I have an iphone 5 16GB for AT&T and I've had problems with the phone's home button (not recognizing my click) and issues with wifi connections on multiple networks. The phone is obviously still under warranty, but I have a dilemma. The iphone has a small crack in the upper right hand corner of the phone. This happened a few months ago, it doesn't come close to the screen or anything, but I'm wondering if Apple will refuse to swap my phone because of this. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Right, my problem is that my iphone is turned on BUT the screen is blank. How can I get this to turn off or reset and respond to my iTunes. I've tried the manual reset by pressing the the sleep/on/off button with the home button at the same time and I get nothing. I've even tried plugging it into my laptop to respond with iTunes but that doesn't work either. It will connect to a wall charger with the same wire as that I'm using to connect to the computer. Problem started about 3-4 months ago. screen will be dim at first, but pressing the power button to turn off the screen and then pressing the power button again will restore the screen to full brightness. Brightness is set to max and Auto-Brightness is off. Phone is not overheating and has never been wet.

I recently did a jailbreak on my phone and decided I didn't like it. I restored the phone to Apple factory settings and everything is fine except the battery. It will not hold a charge more than a few hours -- and that's on STANDBY, not actually using the phone or making calls! Is there anything else I need to do to erase all traces of the jailbreak? Or is there anything I can do to improve my battery life? I've already done the following: 1) lowered the screen brightness2) close programs when not in use3) changed auto-lock time to 1 minute (the shortest possible)

My phone will not restore properly iphone 4S

I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iphone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iphone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the Verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iphone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you,    Emily

iphone 5 camera issues

I'm having issues with the camera on my iphone 5 where it locks up when I try to open the camera app or the screen goes crazy with multi-coloured white noise or a portion of the screen is covered in a purple band usually vertically.Has anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it.Apple support have said to restore the phone or wait for iOS updates. I've done both and got a new phone and had the same issues. Any help would be great fully received.
