VerzionLTE after upgrading to 6.1.4 iPhone 5

iPhone 5 on Verizon upgraded to 6.1.4 (over the air, not via iTunes) has resulted in the phone giving priority to 3G in areas where LTE is available. I am able to get LTE when I disable and enable the radoio (Airplane Mode). Unless I force this, my phone is either on WiFi or 3G.  LTE is enabled (Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Enable LTE: On).  Is anyone else experiencing this?

When will Apple and AT&T figure out a way to disable cellular data when connected to WiFi? My phone uses large chunks of cellular data every evening when connected to wifi. AT&T says to turn cellular data off each night. That's crazy to ask your customers to do something that should automatically happen. I'm not a techie, but this should be an easy fix.

Why doesn t Apple make it possible to deactivate Voice Control iPhone 3G

Voice control is really annoying. I really wish I could turn it off. But I can't. Supposedly I can turn off some of the things voice control does (with limited success) but I can't disable it completely even though I really want to. Really. And a lot of other people want to, too, if the forums are anything to go by.  Problems include:- Accidental activation (yes, triple click home is turned off, and yes I have a passcode)- Accidental calling people. The last time this happened I was asleep and I must have accidentally leant on my phone. Somehow it interpreted my breathing as "Facetime (friend's name)". That person lives in another country. It was the middle of the night. Could apple please reinburse me for this ridiculous nighttime overseas call? I also discovered that disabling voice calling with the passcode option doesn't disable facetime. Why not?- Accidentally playing music. This is really awkward especially in quiet serious places when your pocket or handbag starts to sing. There is NO WAY to stop this happening. My phone is on silent!! Still, voice control makes the beep beep noise and plays music when some accidental pressure touches the button. Last time was during a work meeting. If I get fired because of apple...- It hears things I don't say, and doesn't understand what I do say. To the best of my knowledge, I don't say "Facetime (complicated Indian name)" in my sleep. Seriously. But "Next song" should be simple enough! ATTENTION APPLE SOFTWARE ENGINEERS!! Please make an "off" option!! Surely it is a simple thing that will make millions happy. There are a LOT of discussions on the Support Communities about this. Please do something about it. There is a very simple solution, whereby people can choose if Voice Control is something they want to use or not. Please. Pretty please with sugar on top.

I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 6.1.2.  I have synced Facebook contacts with phone contacts, I also have the Facebook App. I have disabled Facebook in notifications (no banners, off on every option), I go into Calendar and disable the "Birthdays" under "Facebook", I have even diabled Birthdays for phone contacts. Once another birthday comes along the option in Facebook Birthdays for Calendar is enabled as if by magic and up pops a notification.  I disable it again and once another birthday comes along, hey presto it enables itself again with another message. The phone contacts birthdays does not re-enable itself, just the Facebook Birthdays. Seems like either a bad Facebook "bug" which is legally a privacy infringment, or an iPhone bug.

Recovery Mode stuck iPhone 4

So here my iPhone froze or something happened so I procede to turn off and then turn on the device. It loads the Apple showing that it is going to boot back up but then it sits there or freezes there. So I go on YouTube and look for a tut and all I found was just to put in DFU mode. I do that and my computer says that it can't load because there's a password and it follows saying that I need to go and disable the passcode. And I can't do that because it freezes at the Apple loading screen. So is the last thing I have to resort to is that I have to get new iPhone?

iPhone 5--No Sound Has Vibration

I woke up this morning via my alarm settings on my iPhone 5. Came back to the phone about 45 minutes later and noticed there was no sound for the lockpad, calls, alarms, notifications, ringtones, music, other apps, etc.  I followed some of the of the steps I've found through through the community: - Confirmed silent button wasn't turned on- Confirmed both ringtone/sound volumes were turned up- Turned off bluetooth- Forced Reboot- Regular Shutdown/Restart- Reset All Settings (Without Content)- disable/Enable Change with Buttons- Disabled/Enabled Vibrate on Ring/Silent  When attempting to change a ringtone with "vibrate on ring" and silent button turned off the vibrate kicks in however no tone. I've seen this in the past with my 4S and it only took a forced reboot to clear it.  Anyone else experiencing this issue as of 2013?  I heavily rely on sounds for alarms, notifications, etc (as I'm sure everyone else does) so any word of advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

iPhone 4s-Can't answer incoming calls when on another call

I have an iPhone 4s with sprint.. So after the update to the iOS 6 I have not been able to answer incoming calls while I am on another call. When I am on a call I can hear that "beep" that lets you know there is someone else calling you, well the screen shows no incoming call at all! However, I can still hear the beep & then when the call is "dropped" but in my call log it never shows that I missed a call..no trace what so ever. I was wondering why this would be.Before with the update I was able to answer incoming calls when I was on another call with no such problem or even swap between calls but after the update I have noticed that I can't anymore & I do remember that before in settings there was an option that allowed you to either enable or disable call waiting, which is no where to be found now. Who should I contact regarding this? I have looked online and I can't find any solutions.  Help me please!

iphone 4 burning HOT after battery swap and now draining fast

Hello,I'm a DIY'er and very cheap. This is my first blog post ever. Excuse my unawareness. iphone out of warranty.  Problem: My iphone burns hot when charging or when the screen is on.Cause: I was replacing a screen on my SISTERS iphone, used my own personal battery in my iphone to boot her phone to make sure i didnt buy a dud.  But keep in mind both were ATT iphone 4 models. Both with the same IOS.I've replaced a screen before no problem. BUT this time the phone wouldnt fire up. So to make sure I didnt buy a dud, i removed the battery from my personal phone, placed it in my SISTERS iphone and bam it worked. Yay! Her iphone is working. So i removed my battery and reassembled her phone with her battery. Still working just fine. Now my phone is in need of repair. This is what i get for trying to help.  Again, my iphone burns hot only when charging or when the screen is on. Battery is depleted in 1.5hrs.  FAILED Attempts to fix by: Re-seatting the battery 10x plus.Swapped batterries several times again.Tried reconditioning.Blew air on the charging pins.Tried all the disable/delete mail accounts, icloud, restrictions, even airplane mode.Reset Network settings, then tried All settings, then tried erase all and restored with a NEW setup, no backups. Upgraded to IOS 6.0.1. Now im just going to completely disassemble/reassemble my phone out of desperation.I think all that may be left is possibly i caused a short. My iphone screen has two hairline cracks, but un-noticable by touch and also touch is working 100%. I think maybe somehow the screen is now causing the iphone to overwork itself. IDK how bcuz i lived with these 2 cracks for abt a year now till the recent battery swap.Im undecided if i should try my sisters screen on my phone, bcuz i dont want anymore problems.I dont want to buy a new phone. Any help would be much appreciated.

iPhone 5 Rapid Battery Drain-No Standby

Hi folks - I have a 64GB iPhone 5.  When wifi is enabled and I am at work (this doesn't occur on any other wifi network that I have yet found) the phone will not go into standby mode (though the screen turns off) as evidenced by the Usage and Standby times being almost identical.  In approximately 3 hours, when wifi is enabled, my phone will go from 100% to below 20% and is quite hot to the touch. The wifi network at my work is WPA2 encrypted, wireless N and G, and 2 SSID's are broadcast for the same network (to support staff whose wireless laptops haven't been switched to the new SSID - don't get me started - it's a stupid setup).  Anyways, the wifi quality is dodgy at past and even though the signal remains strong, internet connectivity frequently drops.  I suspect that the wireless router is defective but I have no control over that and have been ignored by the IT folks.   To make matters even more interesting, my iPad 4 connects to the same network at work and the battery doesn't drain and the device goes into standby without issue. If I disable wifi on the phone while at work, the phone goes into standby and the Usage actually reflects the amount of time the device is actually used (a fraction of the total time). I have reset network settings on the phone, reflashed 6.01 and restored from backup, disabled location services, etc... but to no avail. Do you think there is a defect with the phone in its ability to handle the dodgy wifi at my work when the iPad manages it fine or is there something else that I could do to stay connected to the wifi without the phone chewing through battery, heating up, and not sleeping? Thanks folks!

I recently updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 with great regret. I have run into a number of issues with the update that I feel has finally pushed me to pose a question. Related to the subject, I am not a fan of social anything and despise game center.  My issue is: Even though I disable game center, once I log in for any reason on the iPhone (app update as example) it logs me into game center.  Is there anyway to permanently disable game center and/or not have it share my log in information with the app store. I find it to be an invasion of privacy that my password is shared without my consent across different apps in the device.  To use a good analogy, this same "feature" could allow an app to use your banking password for auto login purposes. As an FYI, I did search the forums and I have no interest in just "letting it run in the background" I do not want it to auto login and save any information about me.

iPhone autolock and autod stopped working

Hi everyone, I've got an iPhone 4 which I've just updated to iOS 6. Never had any major issues (I am ignoring the fact that my home button doesn't work. At all.) but it seems that autolock and autodimming now don't want to work. I've checked the settings and they're as they were in iOS5 where it worked perfectly, messed about with them to see if that helps and no luck. Autolock and dimming only seem to work if I've shut everything down in multitasking - always wanted to disable it but no can do. All apps seem to trigger it, I thought it was to do with location services, but even apps which are blocked from using that still cause the fault. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this as it's driving me nuts and killing my battery. Thank You, Emma

Ever since this **** update came out for iOS 6, my phone has been messing up. I can't see my call waiting, and when I reset the phone back to factory defaults, it worked for about a day. I don't want to keep doing that if I want that feature, but it is getting old. It doesn't even show in my call log that I missed a call. Before anyone ask, I have search through all the settings and there is no button to disable or enable it. Can someone please help me?

iPhone 5 keeps refusing to use WIFi

Hi, I'm an iPhone 5 user in the UK (on O2) And I've noticed that the iPhone 5 keeps refusing to use wifi - even though it shows that it is connect to my router (I see my router as the only wifi signal - but it either doesn't show the "connected tick" - or it shows its connected - but  just doesn't use it) If I disable mobile data - the phone still refuses to use wifi - usually, if I keep pressing refresh - it eventually uses wifi -- but sometimes I have to make the phone forget the wifi - and then add it again. Another annoying thing - is that mobile data is terribly slow. If I have my iPhone 5 in one hand - and my old 4s in the other (both on same O2 network - and same contracts, 4s still on ios5.X) -- the 5 will take much longer to load -- and a lot of times -- will just show the safari time-out message. I can upload a video to YouTube? Both show the same signal bars - but the iPhone 5 is always slower. It's really making the phone a pain!  (And one more unrelated problem -- the 5 keeps forgetting my "keyboard shortcuts" - where I can type "cu" - and it fills in "see you soon", etc)  Is anyone else having this problem of useless mobile data, and not using wifi? I hope an ios6 update can fix these problems. Cheers!

Data Usage on my IPhone 4 with IOS 6

Hello, I currently have a Verizon IPhone 4 and recently upgraded to IOS 6 via the Apple Update.  My problem seems to be that after upgrading my data usage has spiked.  I normally use between 100-200 mb per month since my phone is mostly connected to WiFi. However after the update it shows that I am par to use about 1gb of data for this month. My plan covers that amount but I think that there is data leak when updating to IOS 6.  My wife’s phone is still running IOS 5 and has not had any issues with the data usage.  I know that Apple and Verizon released a patch for the IPhone 5 to correct a similar issue but wondered if Verizon is aware of this issue happening on pre IPhone 5 devices.   I have made sure to close all open apps, disable location services/push notifications but my phone continues to download around 1mb every hour.  I have also disabled the ICloud application.  The temporary fix I have is to connect to WiFi then disable Cellular data via the Settings menu. Please provide any tips, tricks or updates as I would not have to switch cellular off and on while using my phone.

Last week I bought an iPhone 4S. This is my first iPhone, and I am having trouble with its battery holding a charge. After about 8 hours on standby, connected to 3g (with about 3 bars), the phone is at 15% battery life, and I'm only using it probably 15 minutes accumulated. If I turn it on Airplane mode, or have it connected to WiFi, it seems like it will last forever. But for some reason, the battery kills itself when it's connected to 3G. I have disabled most notifications, deleted my iCloud account, and yesterday I calibrated the battery. After all this, I will lay it on my desk, and check it five minutes later and be disheartened by the fact that it has already dropped 1%. I also disable WiFi if I don't plan to be using it, and I disable Location Services. Please help me!

I have time zone support disabled on my calendars but it seems to still be enabled in Reminders. How I turn this annoying feature off iPhone 3G

When traveling, I've chosen to disable time zone support because it's mostly a useless feature to me. Though I'm not using time zone support in Calendars, it seems I'm unable to turn it off in Reminders. I just set some reminders for myself in New York and now that I'm back home in LA, they're 3 hours off. And when I travel to Colorado next week, they'll be off by 2 hours. Anyone know how to fix this? Or should I just stop using what is ultimately a broken app?

Audi S4 Bluetooth Phone Issues iPhone

All, Running into issues with pairing my new VZW iPhone 5 with my 2010 Audi S4.  While the streaming music works correctly, the bluetooth phone portion works intermittently.  Specifically, it works when you disable bluetooth, remove the phone and then re-pair, but will not work outside that.  The contacts sync and all the other information syncs, but the phone portion sounds very crackly and staic.  Swapped the phone with Apple and still an issue... Anyone else having the same issue?-Rob

Cellular network problem Edge-Only on my iPhone 5

Hi, I have a problem. With my iPhone 5, when 3G is enabled, no worries, the cellular works well.  By cons, if I disable the 3G or the iPhone only picks up the EDGE network and if the level is less than 3/5 I see "Network unavailable" .. But, if the EDGE network is more than 3/5, EDGE works .. I can see the reception level because when it switches on any EDGE antenna , I see the level during 1-2 seconds with the "E" and then, later, no 3G or E logo appears, the iPhone displays 1/5 bar , then "Network unavailable" to a 3G antenna is detected ..  My line is properly enabled on my iPhone 4S in the same place, no worries .. I'm 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4S ...  You think it's a bug with my iPhone 5? iOs 6 which detects the level of the EDGE is too bad with less when they are 3/5 bar ?  I've called the Apple Care support, they asked me to restore as "New iPhone". Same problem with no iCloud backup and with "New iPhone" after the restore..  Anybody has got the same problem ?  Thank you so much in advance !

How I stop my iphone 4 from beeping when I plug it into power It's both annoying and disturbing to others when I it late at night.

Everytime I plug my iphone into power or if power goes and returns, it beeps loudly.  I can't find anyway to reduce the volume or disable the beep.  Searching previous threads suggests Apple finally addressed this issue (at least partially) with iPad, but nothing for iPhone.  I've disturbed people at night when I plug it in, so I'm really interested in getting this beep under control.  Any suggestions?

iPhone 5 battery drain linked to LTE

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has experienced this: When I leave LTE enabled, I can barely get through my day without my iPhone 5 dying. If I disable LTE and only enable it to browse the web or when needed, my battery life dramatically increases. I have just put my phone on the charger, it had 15 hours of standby + 7.5 hours of usage and there was still 20% remaining after having toggled LTE on and off only when needed.  I am with Rogers and the LTE coverage is generally 2 bars, although sometimes it reverts back to 3G.  Is there a fix for this. Apple advertised the same battery performance for both LTE and 3G, I am clearly not getting this.
