Ringtones wont sync to phone iPhone

Im at a loss here...it shows up as a ringtone in iTunes, but it wont sync to the phone. Ive restarted my phone several times, hoping that would do it. Ive removed all my ringtones, then re-synced them...but still nothing. quirk? Suggestions? Musik ist meine Liebe

I have several custom created ringtones (not from apple store). Files are proper length, they show up on the ringtone list when I update my 3Gs, but the phone will only acquire one of the tones on the list. I can manually select just one (any one tone on my list) and get that specific ringtone, but when I select two or more, or when I select all ringtones (ten), only one will show up on the phone.Any ideas? Iphone 3G support for A2DP and AVRCP

Hi guys, I recently got a Jabra bt3030 bluetooth stereo dongle to listen to my music wirelessly from my Iphone 3G. Only wish it was as simple as I hoped it would be. After pairing the two via bluetooth and playing a song, I realised that the next/previous buttons on my bluetooth unit do not work. Nor does the volume control on the iphone itself! As a result, the playback signal is at full blast-causing buzzing in my earphones continously throughout the song. Are there any apps out there that fix this volume bar issue? If not, I do hope that Apple will fix this problem with their next update-3.2. Im quite disappointed as I have tried playing music on other bluetooth devices, and the music is flawless! Ah Yes, Sometimes my Ringer volume will start to decline from being on maximum volume to mute(on its own). And now it is putting up the Slide to Power Off screen while it sits by itself. As if I am holding the lock button for 3 seconds, while sitting there on my desk. Phone is operate-able but does this semi often. Also, I havent updated my phone for a couple weeks. iPhone wont sync ringtones 3G

Im a new iPhone user, I bought one of the older 8GB 3G models.With the new iPhone update, I was now able to buy a ringtone and have been using it on my iPhone. Today, however was the first time Id synced my iPhone with my MacBook. Its also the first day Ive set the Home Sharing function on my Macbook and iMac. I get an error messageDecode (song name) not found and is not copied to Jenny S iPhone because you are not authorized to play it on this computer.I am the admin of both computers and its my iTunes account. What setting can I change so that my iPhone will sync my ringtones again. I made a few more ringtones tonight: used audio editing software on a song, selected a 15 sec clip, bounced each as AAC, put each on my Mac desktop, changed each extension to .m4r, and dragged each to both the iTunes ringtone folder, AND the iPhone ringtone folder. As I dragged them to the iPhone folder, the SYNC IN PROGRESS prompt came up on the phone, so I knew it was doing something. The first one went fine. Then, the second one ELIMINATED the first on the phone, even though the iPhone folder in iTunes shows both ringtones. I changed names, used a different song, and tried a number of suggestions on the web, but I cannot get any other of my homemade ringtones to take on the iPhone, even though they are in the iTunes>iPhone>ringtone folder. I now have 8 ringtones in each folder (iTunes and iTunes>iPhone), but only 5 ringtones on the actual iPhone. If the iPhone only holds 5 custom ringtones, why doesnt it eliminate the oldest one, and keep adding new ones? Plus, I read one poster who has 27 ringtones.They are all .m4r, all less than :16 sec, all playable in iTunes, all in ringtone folders, but I cannot get the iPhone to recognize them. New ringtone just vibrates iPhone

Please bare with me I have read this question on previous post buts have not seen a answer yet.I downloaded my first ringtone off itunes earlier and set it has default ring. It shows up as it is the default but only vibrates upon receiving a call.I go to options and switch between other ringtones and they all play but once i got back to the new ringtone it doesnt play, just vibrates.Button is good on the side.Any idea? iPhone OS 3.1.2

Poor Headphones iPhone 3G

Its the 3rd time I buy a new headphone for my iPhone 3G. Amazing. It costs a fortune. And every time, after a few weeks my headphone breaks, or works badly... I think that the cable is not so resistant and that the speakers themselves are not so resistant too. On my 4th headphones, after just 2 days, the speakers play a small crr crr in the background. I have to lower the volume to get rid of this disturb. And I know that in a couple of weeks, a simple movement of the head, and the left channel cable will break internally. I know. Never happened with my previous (other brand) phone. Never.Is anyone who can suggest a different brand of headphones compatible with the iPhone 3G (microphone included)? Iphone 3G sound BUG

whem i surf with safari and also at the same time run ipod on the IPhone,after some time my Ihone stop play sound and display volume (headphones) even no headphones where connected. If i connect Headphones he playes that sound with no Problems over headphones like it is written on the display. It also became little bit hot. I already send my Iphone away for repair... it was 6 weaks away and came back with the same bug.Ipod Crash while surf with Safari. If i go to Perferences and choose another rington he still play that sound Strange thing.Could it be caused by a defect in the headphone connector ? HELP iphone 3g shuts off unexpectedly 3-5 times day how I fix it

I have had my iphone 3G for approximately one year now; up until the last 2-3 weeks it has been working great and I have had no complaints. Now, for some reason, my iphone will unexpectedly turn off and not respond if I press the home button or the power button for a period of 5-10 minutes. Once it is on it opens my ipod volume settings screen and works normally. This happens almost 3-4 times a day now and I dont understand what it is wrong. My iphone has the latest software update and I have taken great physical care of it.Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, what should I do about it? SMS Recipient Limit iPhone

Jason L,I have noticed a new limit to recipients on SMS with the latest update. Why did Apple make this change. Cant change ringtone iPhone

I can no longer change a ringtone, either default or custom, on my 3GS. Ringtones show up fine in the list; I can click on them, and they play just fine, and show selected, and stay selected when I leave Settings and come back. But one ringtone (and its not one of the ones that come with the phone, either) is always the one that actually plays, regardless of what I select in the list.This is a new problem, too: I used to be able use any of the other ringtones just fine.I have turned off my phone and rebooted (as was suggested in another topic); no help. Im reluctant to completely reset the phone yet, but may have to. Is this a bug in a recent system upgrade? Would someone else try changing a ringtone and see what happens? iTunes ringtone bought on iphone for iphone wont work 3G

I bought a ringtone on the iTunes store on my iphone, and, during the purchase, it asked me whether I wanted to set it as the default tone, which I did. The ringtone does shows up on the sounds list and is set as default, but doesnt make a sound. The other ringtones I have still work fine. Ive rebooted the phone, but it makes no difference. Any ideas? My iphone is not modded in any way. 3G

Iphone 3G backup takes forever

Ever since my iphone 3G was upgraded to 3.1.2, every sync or backup takes much much longer than it was before. The first backup since 3.1.2 took 3 hours (no kidding, 3 freaking hours.) I actually thought there was some hardware failure. The next time took much shorter time - 45 mins. Now it still takes at least 30 minutes.Is there a way to bypass the backup in syncing contacts or photos?Is there a way to avoid adjusting the ring tone volume when using other apps or games?Thank you! other Iphone users! iphone 3G

Ringtones wont sync iPhone

I am completely stumped. I made some custom ringtones from myxer.com; they are all under the standard 40 secs. I had no problem syncing them when my iphone was 3.0 OS, but after updating to 3.1.2 only one of my ringtones will sync. Out of 15 or so, only one random ringtone will sync to my phone at any given attempt. iTunes says that they are synced to my phone, but when I check under custom in settings, they are no where to be found. The ringtones are all m4r. I have been unable to find any solution after extensive searching on google. I even called an Apple customer service agent and she said that iTunes was now only allowing purchase ringtones to be synced. Is this true or am I doing something wrong? two part question Not able to watch videos online since 3.0 iPhone 3G

When I first got my Iphone I was able to watch videos online. (like preview a ringtone on myxer.com) After I installed the 3.0 update onto my phone I am nolonger allowed to do that, all it comes up with is the code for the page. So I guess my question is, What can I do to fix this problem? Also, Since the 3.0 update, google doesnt work properly. Need ringtones and I cant get them into itunes ringtones iPhone

Im trying to get some pretty standard phone ringtones on to my iPhone. I have a new iphone 3gs and have been trying to figure out how I can make my iphone ring once and then stop. Can anybody help me with this? I want an audible noise to occur while I am at work, but I dont want it to ring for 30 seconds if I leave my phone at my desk. I have searched the net and so far seem to have found only one answer - use garage band to create a new ringtone. Is that the only option? I have just updated to the firmware 3.1.2 from 3.0, and iTunes 9.0.2. I waited some time, as usual, to update as I like to see what problems arise from firmware releases. I was lucky enouggh to skip the whole 2.2.1 fiasco. Anyhow, Ive noticed a serious drop in the volume on my iPhone. Keyboard clicks, movie volume, and incoming text message tones seem a lot more dull then in previous versions. Ive tried a restore, charge, turning it on and off... cranking the volume... it still seems much lower than usual.Any thoughts? SMS or Alert tone only heard through headphones when plugged iPhone

Hi everybody,I am having all the time my headphones plugged on my Iphone (3G 3.1.2) because I mainly use them as a handsfree. (I have an ipod for listenning to my favorite music. Iphone is mainly phone for me)When I receive incoming calls I can hear the ringtone from the speaker (and also from the headphones).However, this is not the case for incoming SMS, or alerts.I found this out the hardway, missing for hours an important sms.I dont know if there is a way to overcome this through settings (any suggestion would be welcome), but I think it would be fair to have an option in the Settings-->sounds menu for that.Many thanks in advanceGeorge PC Windows Vista keen with my iphone

Problem:I have a problem with iPhone 3G. The volume icon appears on the screen by itself at random times. Later the phone shut down when I was watching a video on YouTube and there was the Apple logo on the black screen for a few minutes and then iPhone didnt respond to any buttons. Reaction of the Apple France Support:1. I called directly the Apple Support on October 30 at the number given at the Apple Support page in France 0805 540 003 (http://www.apple.com/fr/support/contact/). 2. I was told that I should restore the phone via ITunes and if it doesnt help the phone will be replaced. I restored the phone, but the next day there was the same problem as before: the YouTube application shut down when I was trying to turn on the volume. 3. November 2, 2009. I called the Apple Support again and talked to a lady who suggested that I restore the settings on the phone itself and if doesnt help they will replace the phone. But I could hear irritation in her voice and had really bad impressions after this call. Besides I think its by no accident that I didnt receive the usual questionnaire about my feedback on Apple Support after the call. 4. November 3, 2009 Since the problem with the phone continued I called again and this time after finding out that I had tried all kinds of restoring the Apple Support service operator asked me if I had dropped the phone or put it in the water. When he received a negative reply, he asked me to look for some jack or whole, I didnt understand at first which one because first, I am not a technician and dont know what all these things are called and second, I certainly dont know what they are called in French because I am not French. When finally I found the whole he was speaking about he asked me to look inside and tell him what color it was. I didnt have enough light to do that besides I didnt understand what I should be looking for. So I asked him to have a technician from Apple Support to have a look at my phone since I am not used to doing such manipulations and dont really understand what I should do and why its me who should do this. The reply was that that they cannot send anyone, neither can I go to a place where it can be checked by the Apple technicians. And that if I need a place to have it checked, he can give me an address in Switzerland, because there are no Apple service offices for IPhone in France. I was told that it is my task to find a flash light and look into the jack or find someone who could do this. Since I saw that we were getting nowhere and the attitude wasnt the one I would expect from Apple, I asked him to tell me his name and to put me through to the manager of the Apple Support. He refused and said that this wouldnt change anything. I kept asking for his name or number and he only gave me the number of my file that I already had. This is the first time that Ive come across such a blatant violation of the consumers rights. He went on to say that they need to be sure that there really are problems with the phone and not that I just want a new phone. It seems logical to me that in this case they should have their own Apple trained technician check the phone. Of course, I havent received any feedback questionnaire after this call, but he did send me a nameless do_not_reply email with the instructions of what to look for in the jack.My call was about 4:30-5:00 p.m. Paris Time. The call should be recorded.Reaction of the Apple Corporate Customer Service:November 3, 2009. My brother called Apple Corporate in the US and he was told that Apple Customer Service doesnt in charge of the cases with Apple France Support.Conclusion:I have to say that my impressions of Apple have sunk dramatically after these telephone conversations. It is clear that they are trying to play for time before my warranty expires. Besides, this is not how you should speak to a client who plays the rules right. I dont know if these are the peculiarities of the French Apple Support or such behavior is due the fact that there is nobody to control them.An important fact is that there were 18 days before the end of warranty. I bought my IPhone 3G 16GB in Paris on November 17, 2009 at the Phone House. It is clear that they are trying to play for time before my warranty expires.Another important fact is I had another problem with iPhone in January - February the sound on/off switch button stopped working and I discovered later that it is a common problem with IPhones. I called my operator, Orange, and they directed me to the Apple Support and I was impressed by the efficiency of the Apple Support staff member that I was talking to. I was told that the phone needs changing and it was changed rather quickly. So I hoped that there would be no more problems and that the phone would be working impeccably.A copy of this letter will be sent to to the National Institute of Consumer in France. Problems with my iPhone 3G

Hey everyone...Ive had a 16GB iPhone 3G since they were released in Summer 2008. It was replaced once as the volume switch broke but other than that its been fine, until now. I first noticed it when apps started running really slow and when I couldnt scroll through my iPod. This kept happening more and more and I found I was rebooting it a few times a day. Last night my iPod completely went and wouldnt open -I had to re-sync it with iTunes just to be able to open it again. Its not like Ive on the brink of having no hard drive space either -Ive got about 500MB left. Ive also noticed a 1 inch crack going up the back from where the cable plugs in. I know its going to be out of the 12 month warranty but Ive been paying that 02 insurance since I got it. Im wondering whether I should try to get it sorted or just wait it out until my 18 month contract is up in January, i.e. see what apple can do? See if insurance can cover/replace it?Can you please advise me. Loose wiring iPhone 3G

I recently purchased an iphone about a month and a half ago. Have never experienced problems with it before ever. Yesterday the vibrate tab on the side would not go to vibrate when i switched it unless i hit it against my palms. The volume tabs still seem not to work at all when pressed. The power button on the top did the same but now works just fine. I assume this is an internal wiring problem but didnt know if it could be something else? Suggestions? Dell Windows Vista

Someone called me while I was listening to music through the included headset from Apple and instead of the music stopping, the volume decreased and I was able to hear both the music at a lower volume and the person I was talking to at a higher volume.Has anyone had this happen? Locking, unlocking, receiving/sending texts, and new text alerts all seem to have sporadic rises and drops in their volumes.Im not blocking the speaker and have noticed this happening pretty frequently. Sound problem when using earphones iPhone 3G

When Im using my iPhone 3G, with my earphones plugged in, the volume of the right earphone is severely reduced when I squeeze the top part of the iPhone. It doesnt need to be squeezed heavily for this to happen; when Im walking, for example, the music of the right earphone keeps going in-out-in-out, which is terribly annoying.Is there any chance this is a problem with my earphones? If not, is this something any insurance or something might cover, and is it even repairable?On a probably unrelated note, Im using the earphones I got with my iPod Shuffle (they did work fine until a few weeks ago by the way), because the right earphone of the ones I got with my iPhone suddenly stopped working, along with the mic on the cord leading up to the right earphone, a few months ago. some alienware computer Windows Vista

outgoing calls too loud and distorted iPhone

People complain that my calls sound loud and distorted. I called my home VM and indeed, I do sound loud and distorted from my iPhone. I am using an OtterBox cover...would that cause increased, distorted volume on the outgoing calls?

buttons not responding iPhone 3G

My phone is on but completely unusable. It was working normally one minute and now it is not. I am unable to get any response from the touch screen or power button. I tried calling my phone and it recognized an incoming call but again the touchscreen was disabled. When I press the home button now the screen lights up but is black only displaying the screen header at the top att 3g time etc. Surprisingly the volume buttons work and sleep vibrate also. Ringtones not working correctly iPhone 3G

iPhone 3G Ringer volume goes down to automatically

Hi. Im running an iPhone 3G, firmware 3.1.2. and have noticed recently that after a reset, the volume will automatically reduce to near silent. Afterwhich, I cannot turn the volume back up without toggling the Silent switch to Silent and Back again.The only way of adjusting the volume up is to get to Settings > Sounds. Subsequently, it wont let me reduce the volume, the physical down ringer button on the side doesnt seem to work. Windows XP iPhone OS 3.1.2
