android just came out with a new thing that pushes notifications from the phone to the computer. so if you get a text or a call or voicemail, it shows up as a little popup on your desktop. does the iphone have something like that? MacBook 13.3 in Mac OS X (10.6.4)

iPhone 4 Software Update 4.1 Download Error

Using the latest iTunes version, I tried updating my iPhone 4 software to the latest 4.1 version, yet I keep getting the following error: (err=3259. Network Connection Timed Out).I read all relevant articles as to solve this problem, and I tried the following solutions with no result:Full system file cleanup and clean system startup in addition to iPhone full restartDisabling Windows firewall and DefenderDisabling antivirus and network security programStopping all Windows Firewall and Defender services from the task manager Following (MSCONFIG) conflict troubleshooting instructions as suggested in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292Trying to only Download the software update instead of Download and Update from iTunesIn addition to eating three bars of chocolate to calm myself down. The same problem I encountered previously when I tried to update my iPod and iTouch software as well.A starting point would be to enable saving the software update file and manually updating the device instead of having to download from scratch every time. Iphone 4.1 Proximity Sensor NOT fixed

Im about to implode with nerd rage.I have had my phone since day one, the whole antennagate didnt bother me, as I dont hold my phone with my left hand.But this is making me want to throw my phone against a wall.Muting someone while on the phone, calling another contact or going into facetime mode. This is the bane of my iPhones life. I have done 3 restores on my phone and also updated to 4.1, yet it is still not patched. Is this still happening to others?We were told the next update would patch this, instead we get Gaming Centre and also HDR photos which is great, But I still cant use my phone properly...If so please do comment as I need to know Im not going crazy.The apple store have said to me its not my phone its software,even tried to test it and prove me wrong by using a 10 second phone call ( I know seriously what a genius ) So what can I now do to get a working iPhone 4? Car Stereo wont play after 4.1 iPhone 3G

Hello, this is a problem that has seemed to progressively get worse with each iOS update. I know this is probably more of an issue for the maker of the car stereo, but its also an issue caused by the OS updates. The stereo is a Valor ITS-702.iOS 2 worked just fine, the artists would show up in alphabetical order and selecting them would bring up all the artists sorted by album/tracknumber.Then there was the iOS 3 update. Artists still showed up just fine in alphabetical order. However, now when you would select one of the artists all the songs would be in alphabetical order. The trick around this was to create a playlist for each artist. The playlist would show the songs just how it would on the phone or in iTunes. That was an easy fix. This was an issue for both the iPhone 3G and the 1st gen iPod Touch. My old iPod photo still works just like it should.iOS4.0 through iOS 4.0.2 worked pretty much the same as iOS3 except for the playlist would show No Songs... It would still play the whole playlist, but you couldnt select a specific song without pressing Next or Previous. Ive since gotten an iPhone 4 and it does the exact same thing. Then there was iOS 4.1. Now it will display all the artists but will only play the first artist in the list. For example you have two bands on the phone, Band A and Band Z. You want to listen to Band Z. So you select Band Z and it will show No Songs... It will play the first 10 seconds of the first alphabetical song by Band Z then start playing the first song by Band A.This is a rather annoying issue that has just progressively gotten worse and worse.Any suggestions on what could be causing this issue? iPhone 3G iOS 4

i, ve found that since updating my iphone 4 last night there has been a definite improvement , before i think id adapted to the proximity sensor going off and it didnt bother me unless i tried to hold the phone between my shoulder and chin then i could see it flashing ,since the update this has not happened the screen has remained off during a long call this morning and didnt light up once..its definitely changed..hope its fixed for others .. :-))) iphone4 Windows 7 dell hybrid

iPhone 4 PROXIMITY SENSOR GLOWING RED when on call

I just posted a topic a few minutes ago about the proximity sensor and make some more tests.I dimmed the light in my room in my last test, and I see the infrared emitter of the sensor glowing red (is very low, but is there!).If I remember some electronics, when an infrared emitter emits visible red light is because its receiving a too high current.This can be a mayor problem, because the emitter dont would survive too much time this overcharge.A this point, I believe that Apple solution to the issue may be allow more current pass to the emitter, maybe too much.Anyone can confirm this? (also if you dont updated yet).Many thanks to everyone.

Backup takes more than 8 hours iPhone 3G

I have an 8GB iPhone 3G on the 3.* OS with about 5GB of photos/apps. I connected it to my computer to sync/backup at 8PM last night and at 6.30AM it was ~60% completed. That computer has iTunes 9.* installed.This morning, I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.0 and removed all the apps that I rarely use. Connected my phone to do a backup and once the backup began, the estimated time remaining was About 2 hours. It has now been 30+ minutes and the estimate is still 2 hours.Any ideas whats make it take so long? Windows XP Pro

Cracking Noise Out Of My Earpiece During call iPhone 4

i havent really had any problems with my iPhone 4 so far but recently i noticed that i can barely hear the other person during a call anymore bc its making weird cracking noises out of the ear piece of the device (no matter how much service i got and it already happens during the beep part of a call). It sounds like im on analog or like the other person would talk through a can. Battery barely charges-iPhone 3G roughly 1.5yrs old

Ive had this phone for over a year and its battery life hasnt really been that bad up until a few months ago, when I started noticing that I had to charge it every day for it to last throughout the next day.Over the past week or two, Ive noticed a further decrease of life throughout the day. I originally attributed it to elongated usage, but that isnt the case as of the last month or so. With this decreased life, the phone also takes a very very long time to charge. When it is plugged into the USB port in my trucks stereo, it doesnt charge and actually goes down in percentage if being used (if Im using it as an iPod, even with the screen off). Yes, the battery icon does change to a charging lightning bolt icon whenever it is plugged in.The phone will charge very slowly when plugged into a USB 2.0 outlet, and a very small amount faster when plugged into the wall.What should I do? I have apple care on it for another 6 months or so I think...but does that cover battery replacement? Do they even have 3G phones anymore? Would I have to buy another phone? iPhone 3G iOS 4

photo missing after restore iPhone 4

Yesterday I recieved my iphone 4. Then I backupped my iphone 3gs.After I restored that backup on iphone4.Everything went fine except some pics missing (last 2 months) in camera roll.The strange thing is that if I look for them in the places tab I can watch them.So the pics ARE in the PHONE but to watch them I have to use the places feature :-Does anybody experienced that? signal-noise while calling iPhone 4

Hi, I have the problem, that i can hear the signal noise between iPhone and transmitting pole (the noise that you can hear when you get to close to a loudspeaker with your mobile phone). I can hear the noise all the time when im doing a phone call. The guy at the support hotline was asking if this problem is already known and then he told me that this is normal für the iPhone 4 and he said that my hearing seems to be good, because i can hear the noise o.OI tested iPhone 4 and iPhone 3gs at the same time and in the 3gs there was nothing to hear.Does anybody else have this problem? iMac Mac OS X (10.5.8)

iPhone 4 falls into DFU mode all time

Hi!got my iPhone4 a little longer than a month. Since approx. two weeks it falls into DFU mode everytime i lock it and wait about 10-15 minutes to unlock it again. i cant tell the exact amount of time it takes to fall asleep - it may take longer when email arrives in the meantime...the problem doesnt appear then the phone is wired to a computer or jack. It is also hard to get out of this mode. sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 times pressing both buttons for 10 seconds to reactivate it.i tried to reinstall it (also without restoring from backup) several times - using two different macs. no change. Whatever - the phone did not drop or anything. except the described issue it is in top condition. is there anything else i could try? is this a known issue? or is my only chance to send it back to apple?thx in advanceT. iPhone4 iOS 4

seriously? i shouldnt have to downgrade the operating system, or wait for weeks or months while you play with iphone 4 and the ipad and try to revamp the ipods of yesteryear. my phone freezes almost every time a call comes in, it wont load contacts and there is no menu while i am dialing a phone number. everything else works great but you see, the only thing is i have an iphone not an ipod touch so making calls is a pretty important thing here. my mom is whining about me not answering her calls because she has a 3gs and so does my step dad and they are begining to believe i am making it up about these issues....and its your stupid fault for not fixing the stupid issues.so please fix your operating system before i do the unthinkable and take my business to another carrier with an unlocked and jailbroken device. jerks! iPhone 4 screen flicker on call screen

I am getting a screen flicker while on my call screen. It appears to happen anytime the data activity indicator goes off. Doesnt matter if I have Wi-Fi enabled or not. Screen brightness settings also have no effect. Doent matter if Im holding the phone or laying flat on the table. It seems as though the data activity can be forced to occur when switching from home screen to the call screen, so I made a video of doing that but it happens throughout my calls. I usually wear a headset so thats why I noticed it. Notice the flicker always seems to occur at/around the time of the data activity indicator going off. I havent seen the screen flicker on any other screens except the call screen. I havent noticed this on my wifes iPhone, will try the same thing on hers. Iphone 4 replacement phones

I just purchased an iphone 4 32gb model on Wednesday, September 1st. That friday evening my iphone randomly started turning itself off and was very difficult to turn back on. It also started dropping every call I made after about 10 minutes into the conversation and then completely froze. I could not touch anything on the screen and had to constantly reset it. I went to the apple store today, Monday September 6, and they replaced it no problem. The replacement phone came out of a plain black box and had nothing else with it. I repeatedly asked the genius bar guy if it was refurbished and he told me no. The serial # starts with 5K, which I researched and many people said were refurbished. I dont feel that I should get a refurbished phone when mine was $300 and 5 days old. Im sure there is nothing wrong with refurbished phones but I dont want one when my phone was only 5 days old. Can anyone tell me what they think? I am not a very happy customer right now iphone 4 32gb iOS 4

iPhone 4 Screen Replacement Cracked

Hi all,As you can tell by the direct subject line of my post, yes, my iPhone 4 screen is knackered.My phone slipped off of my office chair today when I put it down mid-text to read an email. Its about a whole foot off the ground, since I like to low-ride around at work. I picked it up, nonchalant, as you do if it has a small fall, looked at the screen and gasped. I never thought they were that fragile!Anyhoo, I was wondering how much it would cost for an iPhone 4 screen replacement in GBP from Apple.I phoned their automated system and the nice robotic girl was very helpful at not being very helpful at all. I never thought Id try and argue with The Terminators sister, but I did!Ive decided against insurance since most (if not all companies) are wanting about £100 upfront for any iPhone 4 claim + the monthly premiums. Plus trying to claw any sort of solace out of an insurance company usually takes about 6 months.Ive had a look at a couple of third party repairs companies and mobileease.co.uk seems like one of the best bets thus far, although I dont know if theyd use the fabled and genuine aluminosilicate glass. I cant seem to find the price for an Apple repair anywhere online. I was even quoted £60 for an iPhone screen via my service provider (Which I think was for a 3G/3GS). I think my iPhone 4 could of used a replacement screen anyways, as there were some major scratches around my screen and it was hard to use it in direct sunlight.Thanks in advance for reading my rant,Jamie. Weird Problem Enabling 3G from EDGE works only with airplane mode iPhone 4

Hi all,My first iphone 4 had this issue of remaining in EDGE even when turned to 3G and on enabling/disabling airplane mode it turns to 3G with full bars. So assuming there was a hardware/software issue with iphone 4 i sold it. I got another iphone 4 from different country and the same above issue haunts me.In Iphone 3Gs enabling 3G from EDGE takes place quick in the same area and and the same network as iphone 4. I would like to know whether:1. Issue is with hardware/software of iphone 4.2. anybody else having the same issue.3. Is it a network error. iPhone 3G iOS 4 JVC KD-R711 Car HIFI

Good Morning @ll,last weekend i bought the jvc kd-r711 car hifi and it doesn`t works really with my iPhone 3G. When i connect my iPhone with the jvc by usb, to 60 per cent the jvc can´t read from ipod. After a restart from the iPhone -> it works!The other Problem is the Handsfree by using bluetooth. For example, i hear a track from my ipod (after restart ;)) and receive a call. I pass the call over my jvc and i can talking by handsfree. So far so good. But when i hang up, the track from the ipod don´t resume. Cannot receive call or txt messages iPhone

HiI have just brought a new iphone 4, 2 days ago, i was on a prepaid account but got switched over to a plan my old number was going to get tranfered over but it hasnt happened so now i have got a new number but cannot receive calls or txt msgs. Everything else on the phone works. I have tried all the trouble shooting and none of these work. I have spoken to my apple dealer and no one has a clue!! 2nd iPhone 4 with issues

Hi, I am on my second iPhone 4 with the following issues:Bad coverage, my iPhone 3G could make and recieve calls where this one cant.When connected to my car kit on bluetooth, the audio quality is shocking. Intermittantly when I recieve calls and answer them the phone continues to make short ring tones while the call is connected.When I move off a wifi network on to 3G then on to a different Wi-Fi network I have to restart the iphone before it will connect to a wifi network.I have tested all the issues above with other phones - they test fine with a Nokia E63 and a Blackberry bold - So its definitely the iPhone 4.Im really dissapointed with apple, and dont feel that i can trust any of their other products after this.Im really frustrated as Vodafone keep saying there are no issues with the iPhone.Is anyone experiencing the above, and have any ideas of how to fix it?Thanks Dell E6510 Windows 7 IOS 4.0.1 iPhone 3G

Organizing Contacts iPhone 4

I have built in bluetooth on my new car, but it doesnt work well with my iPhone4. I think its because I have too many contacts on my phone and it gets confused. When I tried using it with a much smaller contact list, it worked perfectly every time (the problem is that I will say call bob jones and it will say calling mary smith). Ive tried different ways to manage my contacts so that the bluetooth will work, but nothing has worked. I need to be able to access the entire list if necessary (and do it fairly quickly), but have a smaller list of more frequently called contacts so the bluetooth can get it right. I did contact my dealer, and he said that Kia doesnt have an upgrade to the software in the works. Any ideas? iPhone4 iOS 4

Extract Contactsetc from Backup iPhone 4

My software was corrupted. I had an error where if i received a phone call while wearing my headset - the volume would be locked on high and it would be a real pain.Apple support recommended that i backup my phone and restore/set up as a new phone - thus i cant restore any backup bc. i would be reloading corrupted software.Now that i have a clean phone i want all my contacts/apps/photos back - what do i have to do? 3G back up very slow iPhone 3G

Dropped Calls AND hold second call dialing IP4 iPhone 4

So, Ive also had call after call dropped. I thought it was just the way I was holding it, as I frequently hold it on my shoulder while Im walking around. Never had that problem with the previous model. So I got a case or two thinking that would help.....still dropping the calls, so I hold the phone at an angle now (which isnt real convenient). Now randomly the call will suddenly be on speaker, or will be on hold, & at 1:20 am,somehow it dialed my brothers number as a second call while I was on another call. I swear I was just sitting in the same position very still talking on the phone, when I hear a dialing sound, and luckily, I guess for me, it was my brother not someone else, although he wasnt too thrilled about the 1:00 am wakeup call either! Phone resetting in middle of phone calls iPhone 3G

My phone keeps resetting about two minutes into a phone call, the phone go to the apple logo and look like a hard reset. Also sometime the screen shows the battery with a power symbol as if the battery is dead, but when the phone resets the battery is still good. Has anyone had the same problem and how did you fix it. Dear Community,Ive been going through this forum and found some threads regarding the bluetooth and contact issues after upgrading to iOS 4 and Mercedes Command / media interface systems.I came across another issue, which really bugs me:After the upgrade, my playlists and artists take more than a minute to load, and, even worst, 3/4 of all lines displayed are just empty. This means a playlist is indicated but the description just stays empty. The same applies for artists and albums! Let me start by saying that it took me several years to finally buy my first Apple product. I refused to buy the hype and thought that people were insane for standing in lines for hours just to purchase Apple’s latest releases. After knowing people who had iPhones, and loved them for many years, and having spent plenty of time playing with them, I broke down and bought a 3GS. I was immediately hooked and never looked back. The phone was the most awesome piece of technology/gadgetry I had ever owned. I have since converted other nonbelievers to loyal iPhone enthusiasts. After my 3GS experience, and some serious problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer, I seriously started considering buying a Mac and utilizing Apple for all of my software and hardware needs. Unfortunately, that was until my 3GS was stolen and I decided to upgrade to the new iPhone4. Now I find myself questioning whether or not I want to still have anything to do with Apple at all.The initial problem I had with the phone was dropped call after dropped call. However, the larger, and much more upsetting issue, I now have is getting someone to acknowledge that the dropped calls are an issue. Besides the fact that I feel Apple has down-played the issue, I have grown even more upset with the attitude of the salespeople at my local Apple Store. After voicing my unhappiness in experiencing more dropped calls than successful ones, I am talked to as if it is all in my head. Instead of someone, anyone, saying that there is a problem with the phone, they say things like, “Try turning off your 3G before making calls, the bumper case should help the issue, maybe we need to replace your SIM card, and the network is experiencing increased call activity.” And the stories and excuses go on and on. I would have never expected Apple, who I truly believed only put the most superior products out on the market, to have released a phone with so many flaws. If it was Microsoft, however, I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised. What bothers me even more are the people that are so blinded by the hype, that they swear it is not a big deal to turn off their 3G, or put a case on the phone, or to exchange the phone multiple times for other faulty iPhone4’s. Because I believe that everyone deserves second chances, I am not abandoning Apple just yet. I am returning my iPhone4 for another 3GS until Apple gets their act together. Until then, I am doing my absolute best to talk people out of purchasing the new iPhone4. While I have already successfully stopped several people from buying the new phones, the most amazing one was my very own father—a man that works in the Silicon Valley and has waited in Apple lines three times: once for the first generation iPhone, once for the 3GS, and once for two iPads he purchased (one for his wife and one for my sister). He is extremely loyal to Apple, as are most of his engineering, Bay Area buddies. However, he has friends that are just as disappointed with the new iPhone4 as I am, and says that he will not be purchasing one.Apple, please stop telling us that there is not a problem and that there are a series of simple things that can be done to help alleviate the problems we are imagining that we are having. If this issue is not handled properly—meaning a total recall of the faulty devices—I am afraid that you just might find your loyal customer base declining year after year. I had a horrible experience with Bank of America over ten years ago and have never gone back to them since. I am not alone in feeling this way about other things. I’d anticipate that Apple would decline. But one can always ask. Under NDA obviously. Plan B is that we get just an assessment of what the maximum voltages, currents can be inside the device, on PCBs and connectors, plus get an assessment on what the total capacity of all capacitors on board would be if we would place them all in parallel. A BOM would reveal that. Similar question for inductors. Would be really nice if a statement on iPhone4 (informal for now – this is just for initial feasibility assessment – no guarantees asked) can be made that says e.g:The maximum voltage inside, also under any plausible fault condition, is less than 8 Volts,The maximum current on any PCB track or connector is less than 4 A, also under single or dual fault conditions,Excluding the battery pack, the total capacity that theoretically would result from placing all C’s in parallel is below 500 uF, and,The total inductance that theoretically would results from all L’s in series, is less than 500 uH.The IP rating of the enclosure is IP44.Grateful for anyones assistance. Hello,I just picked up and iPhone 4 in the New York City area two weeks ago and in general like the phone very much as a data device, though I am having huge problems with calls. I know that AT&T is not the best provider, however as a business user I would imagine that:1. A call drop rate of 50%-60% is unacceptable and may be due to other issues. When on a call sometimes driving and other times stationary I hear a double beep and see call failed on the phone. This happens a lot, as I mentioned on 50-60% of my calls and when the antenna bar shows 3+ bars.2. Using a Plantronics Voyager headset, one of the best I have ever used, sounds terrible, dropping every other word, when the phone is a few feet away.If there is not a fix for this that this forum can offer, I have to question the viability of this phone for my business needs.I am open to any and all suggestions.BP Iphone 4 iOS 4

If I drop ONE MORE call iPhone 4

Ok I know its my first post but I need to vent... I had an iPhone 3Gs and that was the best phone EVER. It never dropped a call, everything worked perfect... well where I work bought it for me. They giveth and taketh away... gave me an iPhone 4 and gave my phone to someone else... This phone is the PITS! I want to literally stomp it with a sledgehammer!! It drops every call... then you cant call back... Ive done all the upgrades. I bring it into the store, in 2 weeks it dropped 150 calls! Its a work phone, it rings a LOT. Well they give me another one and guess what?? this one is WORSE. Put a case on it.. USELESS! That did nothing. Now on Monday I have yet another appointment with an Apple store and pray they give me yet another one that oh I dont know...works?? Is there ANY way to go in and request a downgrade!?!? Im completely fed up at this point and to top it off since its a work phone, everyone around me is getting ticked off. Its like walking around with a big toy... Wanted to share this with all. Easy fix at bottom of this postIphone 4 user.My voice mail was not getting through - no tri-tone alert and no sign of the message on visual voice mail screen. Happened over the last 10 days after working properly prior.Called Apple Care rep. Lots of thought, lots of consultation (10 minutes)Advice: take Sim card out and the put it back in and/OR call ATT to address issue.OK... I didnt touch the Sim...called ATT. Rep keeps me on 10 minutes! Could almost smell the smoke of her mental processes as she kept saying OK just one minute about 30 times and lots of questions for me!Finally says she is stumped and gets me to her 2nd level tech person.This person tells me do this simple thing - delete any visual voice mails and then delete all the deleted. Simple as can be. Took 15 seconds. Problem solved.AND... she said its a known issue and that this fix has worked well every time.Worked for me and so far I dont have to keep constantly deleting the VMs to keep it working.I told her, please tell your fellow reps and please let the Apple reps know this as well. Free Case question iPhone 4

Long story short, I have had 2 replacements on my iphone 4 so far. I ordered a free case from my original iphone 4 before the replacement, before I got the replacement phone, I ordered a case INCASE SNAP CASE IPHONE 4 - SMOKE-ZML on my original iphone 4, now to find that I had a gap on the back of the phone, got it replaced, and will call it 1st replacement. Anyways on the 1st replacment I also ordered the same case, so now I ordered 2 of those, and evidently the order went through. Now im on my 2nd replacement and have ordered the GRIFFIN MOTIF IPHONE 4 - DMNDS/SMKE-ZML and yesterday it has shipped. Anyways will I still get the other 2 or will they not send that out?Not that it matters because Im already using the iskin solo for my iphone. But I plan on giving them free if anyone needs it. How Facetime works iPhone 4

Hi all !So Ive been wondering how Facetime was working. I heard, since it was going through Wifi, it wouldnt be charged by the carrier, regardless of what kind of contract you have. Ive checked a few tests here and there, and it seems you need to call the person via regular GSM network, and then switch to facetime. Does that mean the GSM connections still running in the background? What if I want to call someone directly via Facetime?If I go in my contacts, select a person, scroll down and clic Facteime, its the list of numbers I have stored for that person that shows up. Maybe it takes awhile, but when I tap voice mail, the phone dials my voice mail and logs in. It doesnt seem to do the visual voice mail part. I just got it today. Is there a lag time? Netflix crashes after 3 seconds of play iPhone 3G

So lets add insult to injury, Not only am I having to deal with the Sluggish non Responsive at times paper weight POS I used to call a reliable Iphone 3G before the 4.0 software upgrade, but now after months of waiting for Netflix to release to Iphone yep Im meet with yet more disappointment. When I try to watch a Movie I get 3 seconds then the screen freezes and it crashes taking me back to the Netflix pick a movie screen. I have tried restoring my phone new, removing the app re adding it going into the settings and selecting reset all to no avail. This happens regardless of my connection full 3G signal or full WiFi signal. any one else having this issue or figured out a solution? I-Phone 3G iOS 4 P.O.S thanks to SW version 4.0

Dont want to beat a proverbial dead horse, but what about making the IPhone 4 a better receiver of calls? My 3Gs was the BEST phone I ever owned. I rarely had a dropped call, I was able to make and receive calls in places where no phone I had owned previously could. When I read that this phone had the best reception of any IPhone (according to Apple) I went and made the switch. Yes, I read many posts where folks say just that, great phone. I am on IPhone 4 number three and all have been plagued with reception issues, thought the first two were worse than this one. I go to the same locations every day and the 3Gs sent and received calls remarkably better. Just sayin..... IPhone 4 Number 3 Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

Hi,I have placed my request for the carrier unlock in. They say it takes up to 10 days and I will have to restore my phone in iTunes after that. Then I will get a message saying the phone is no longer locked to any carrier.How do I know when the update is ready for my phone? How to exit FaceTime iPhone

This may sound like a stupid question at first -- but how doI exit a FaceTime connection and revert back to the voice call…?!I mean, if I can go from voice to video I should be able to go back to voice again, right…?!So far I have tried all buttons and options, but I cant find anything that works…! I can mute the FT call and I can of course hang up and call again, but thats not really a solution…Closest thing I found is pressing the home button, but -- just as in a voice call -- that only takes you to the home screen and you are still on speaker, so thats not it either…Am I missing something here…?!
