International texting charges iPhone

My friend is on a class trip to Germany. He has been texting me on his ipod, through wifi, with a texting app called text free. I have an iPhone with unlimited texting. We have not been texting through imessage, just SMS, but he is sending them from his ipod. Will I be charged gobs of money for "international texting" or is it part of my data plan since he is using wifi? HELP!

This whole problem started when I first got my Iphone 5 around christmas time of last year. And i did the normal activation of my new Iphone and syncing my old iphone 4 with this new phone. I synced everything and it was all good, but i started to get these random text from people in my message log. I soon found out that i was recieving every text that was sent to my sister. And if i replied to someone who was texting my sister it would show up like she texted them, not me on a seperate number. Also when i text my sister she would get the text but immidiatly after i sent her it, i would also get a text from myself saying what i sent her. I will literally get a text message from my own number to myself, (Weird ****). So its like my sisters text messaging is fused with mine. Its only messages though, no images or anything else. In the beginging i didnt care about this becasue she wasnt recieving my text i was only getting hers. But now just today she tells me she is getting my text too. And thats a problem! This problem lasted all the way up to about 2 months ago and then i stopped getting her messages. But i gave one of my friends my old iphone 4 and once they activated it for there own use it started to happen again. They use a seperate plan then i do and there number on the phone is different. Before i gave them the phone i wiped everything off of it. i took off the contacts, messages, everything. They use a different apple account and icloud account now on the phone. So idk why it started up again i need help. Here is some background. My whole family shares the same apple account with everything. We have seperate phones, numbers and data for the most part. But with dealing with Icloud and itunes anything like that, we use the same account. My sister uses a Iphone 4s btw. With my old Iphone 4 i had no probelms with this, everything was normal. But once i switched to the new iphone 5 this problem has occured. Idk what this is about, i havent heard anyone else with this problem, but i need help! btw my other family members on their phones do not have this problem. So i think it has to do something with the icloud but im not sure! This is a serious problem and i need help! Goodluck!

I have a friend who switched from an iPhone to a GalaxyS4, so they don't get my iMessages anymore, and it won’t convert them to text message. We have delete the contact and added him as it was new and still it wants to set messages as an imessage. We have even put the number in as mobile and not iPhone. Receiving US number s imessages to international number iPhone

Hi all,  Haven't been able to find anything on this. I have an iPhone 4s which I had been using to imessage over wifi with my friends while I'm in China (took out my Verizon sim card). I got an international (China Mobile) SIM card today after unlocking w/ verizon, etc. But now my old number is not "registered" with imessage (I checked this in messages on my macbook) and changing my number in my phone isn't helping.  Is there a way that I can readd my US number so that when people imessage my US phone number it goes to my iPhone which is now a different, international number?  My Apple ID still has my old number registered in it, but the Messages settings in my phone show the new international number without a means to add my old number. I'd rather use my US number over my Chinese phone number if theres a way that I can set it back to that number.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using imessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use imessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. I have no clue how to fix this so please help me. Ps. I dont want to have to restore my iPhone because last time i lost the backup Thank you so much if you help me.~eva_needs_help

Character count not work for all contacts anymore. iPhone

I have an iPhone 4 running 6.1.3 with character count enabled and on the Sprint network. Recently character count stopped working when texting at least one of my contacts that i know for sure. I haven't gone through to see how many other contacts have the same issue, but i know it still works for some other contacts. Why would character count show for some of my contacts but not others? And what would cause it to stop working when it showed the number of characters before?I have found the problem exists regardless of if it's an SMS text or imessage. And there is only one contact at a time that is the recipient; it is not an MMS. Is it possible that there actually is more than one recipient that i'm not aware of or is there another reason why character count would stop working only for certain contacts all of a sudden?

Hello, and thank you for reading. I have an iPhone 4s, and my primary email account is Gmail. I can receive emails, but I can't send them. When I try to click on the little pen icon to write an email, the app crashes/quits and I'm sent back to the homescreen. I saw that most people who can't send email receive an error message, but I've never received an error message, the app just stops. I checked in the Settings, and every thing seems to be in order (I'm not extremely tech savvy, so I could be wrong). I started to experience this problem maybe a week ago. Also, my Messages app can be a little sketchy sometimes too. When I'm connected to Wifi and trying to send an imessage, the message won't send and there will be a little red exclamation point next to the message. My Messages app works sometimes, but do you all think that the problems are linked somehow? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm out of the office a lot, and it's an inconvinecne that I can't send emails while I'm on the road. I need to print an imessage conversation going back almost 2mos. HELP iPhone 3G

I have an iPhone 4S. My software and iTunes versions are up to date. My computer runs Windows XP (not so up to date, I know). Here's my dilemma: I'm in the middle of a legal battle (details don't really matter). Point is, I need the ENTIRE conversation to use as evidence in court. Phones are not allowed in the courtroom so I'm left with no other option except to figure out how to print them. I have called my service provider to try and get the transcripts. They told me to call the Apple Help Center. I called Apple, they told me to talk to my service provider. The typical run around. I finally spoke with someone who somewhat sounded like they knew what they were doing, but their only suggestion for me was to download an app that would allow me to export the messages off of my phone onto my computer. Unfortunately, he could not suggest any app inparticular (go figure).  Here's my other problem: because I'm in the middle of a legal battle, I'm a little short on funds. Does anyone know of any programs for download that are similar to BackupTrans that I can use for free? OR, there is an app in the AppStore called "SMS Export" made by Fabrizio Farenga for $5.99... Can anyone tell me if this app is worth the 6 bucks to purchase (does it actually work?)? I desparately need this conversation to use in court. Someone please give me some ideas!

Hi everyone, I have an interesting situation going on here.  Today, I had my iPhone replaced due to an issue at the Apple store in Las Vegas. I have an iPad in addition to my iPhone. Prior to the replacement, my iPad and iPhone were fully synced in imessage. Now, however, after setting this up again, I have lost all of my messages on my iPhone. They are still, however, in my iPad. How can I get them to sync back with my iPhone? I also had my iPhone replaced once before, and I believe it synced right back and I didn't have this problem then (although I didn't have the iPad with me at the time, so that is weird); I don't remember how I did it though.  Hoping to get some help with this, thanks in advance!

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

Wet iPhone -Please Help

My iPhone 4 was in the pocket of my GoreTex jacket on a rainy walk, and somehow got wet!  When I pulled it out after the walk, the phone was hot, the LED flash was on, but the phone was unresponsive.  I noticed moisture in the camera lens, so immediately went online to see how to clear the moisture and revive my iPhone.  It has been sitting in a bag of rice for about 5 days now (with a few silica packs I pulled from vitamin bottles), with no signs of life.  Plugging it in, the LED flash comes on, but that's it.  When unplugged, the LED stays on for about 5 minutes, but eventually dies.  The phone is past warranty, so no hope of getting it replaced by Apple, but I'm not ready to give up on it yet... Any ideas on (a) what to do... keep waiting? or (b) what might be wrong... what parts might I need to order for a DIY fix?  Thanks!

I have a few iPhones that I am working on. I upgraded them to the lates IOS but then when they try to activate they say that the activation server is busy or not able to be reached. I am in Costa Rica, I have tried it on three different internet connections with iphones that are unlocked and iphones that are locked with att. I have att sim cards as well. I try over wifi and I try with iTunes, I still get the server is busy, this has been going on for weeks. Can someone please provide a work around for this?

Dear all, I hope someone could help me out here. I've tried updating all my apps on App Store, but none of them can be updated. Now, I have over 80+ apps waiting to be updated. The problem here is that whenever I tried to update, my iPhone 5 will prompt "Your account is not valid for use in the US store. You must switch to Singapore store before purchasing". I have tried changing all locations to Singapore, but this issue still exists. I'm using iOS 6.1.4. When setting up my apple ID i put in the wrong email address initially, I typed it wrong. I resolved this by correcting it with the right email address then popping in the correct password. Everything seemed fine initially. But now I keep getting Apple ID popping up with the wrong email address asking for the password (which doesnt exsist). It doesn't affect anything as when it matters, eg app store iCloud etc, it always asks for the password for the correct email address. But this window will pop up constantly, whether I'm in settings, App Store, imessage.  I've tried looking for a way to stop it from popping up but can't seem to see anything. I really don't want to have to reset my phone so hoping someone out there has some useful advice for me...

My iPhone 4s won't turn on after stuck at 1 iPhone 5

So my iphone randomly drained to 1% when i came back from school, and i could just charge it and it would be alright, even tough the battery displayed 1%, i could still use it throughout the day. I've had this problem for the third time now. The other times i got this problem i just let my iPhone drain untill it was dead, and then waited for a day or so, and then charged it again and it would turn on. But this time it won't work and i can't seem to get it on again and i really need my phone! Since the iphone displays a battery when it's off or drained, i've always tought that there's some battery percentage left to display the image of the battery. So i tried waiting 1 week to see if it dissapeared or not, but it wouldn't. Whenever i put the cellphone in the charger, it displays the battery as if it's charging, but no matter how long i let it charge, it wont turn on! Does anyone have a solution? Could someone explain why the iphone battery percentage sometimes goed randomly to 1%? did i do something for this to happen?

Hello! So i have recently disconnected my att phone service and for a few weeks i have still been able to text and communicate using wifi which allowed me to use my old number. Today i was told about a phone service by the name of h2o which is ran through att but i was unsatisfied with not being able to use normal iphone functions so i replaced the new h2o sim card with my previous one. Upon doing so i was directed that imessage was "waiting for activation" and no longer gave me the option to use my previous number like i had been doing before. All i want is to be able to communicate with people using my number like i was before, and i would like to know if there was a connection problem when i switched services or is this just no longer avaliable to me! Hi all, This is two questions rolled into one thread, really, but here goes. My friend Jacob has an iPhone 5 that seems to have been giving him trouble. The wifi is incredibly weak, the front camera doesn't work and the screen is slightly patchy. The phone is still under warranty, but I just wanted to check beforehand whether a visit to the genius bar would fix this? Secondly, he won't be around for the next two weeks to make that visit himself,  so he's left the iPhone with me. My question is, would try still replace the phone if he isn't there? They don't require ID or anything, do they?  Oh, and he restored the phone before he left, so now it's stuck in the activation screen... Will that be a problem?

Switched from Iphone 4 to Galaxy S4 and cannot receive texts from iPhone s

Yesterday, I switched from the Iphone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy S4.  However, I cannot receive texts from friends with iphones.  For some reason, when they enter my number in their phone, it assumes it is an iphone number and sends an imessage.  We have manually changed the contact info to say mobile instead of iphone.  We have deleted and made myself a new contact.  We have restarted phones.  They can see the messages I send them from my new phone, but I cannot get messages back unless they turn imessage off.  This is troublesome because I cannot ask every contact with an iphone to turn off imessage just to contact me.  We traded in our old phones (my iphone 4), and it was completely wiped and restored to factory settings, so I do not know why this would assume my phone is an iphone.  I talked to a Samsung representative and they said to talk with apple now.
