My phone won't power on. I tried holding down the power & home button for minutes at a time. Tried charging with multiple charges from multiple outlets and sources. The apple advice is telling me to upgrade the software on my phone. How am I supposed to do this if the phone won't turn on? Am I missing something here?
There's 5 people and it was imessage, and then it went to text? And half the people are imessage and half are text, but now, only 1 is test and the rest are back to imessage. But everyone's imessage works in other conversations and group chats. How do I get it to go back?
Hello, I bought an iPhone 5 from the Canadian Apple store a few months back. I have just got back to the UK and inserted my UK sim card. I'm on Giff Gaff (O2) I can still make and recieve calls and texts. But most of my apps aren't working. Nor are any of my browsers. imessage still works over 3G so i dont understand why my apps and safari arent sending or redceiveing data. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance, Tom
How to get imessage to work when all it says is waiting for activation
My iPhone 4S charges fine when plugged into my MacBook, but if I leave it plugged in overnight, it will lose 20 to 30% of it's charge? Any reason for this?
I am being billed for Itunes like 10x or more each month and I do not know why? I have only down loaded a few games for money, so pleasehelp me figure out all these charges each month. We are on a fixed income and need these charges gone. Help?
My iPhone 5 battery drains a lot. After 42 minutes of usage, and 5 hours of standby it drops to 89%. I'm just wondering if thats normal. I was wondering, if theres a way I can completely restore my iphone. Like restore nothing back onto it, only my text messages and imessages cause those are really important.
Hello. I have a iphone 5 and i have just tried to start using my charger the wall plug and it charges then stops then charges then stop and this goes on and on till the fone is taken off charge has anyone else had this issue. Can u help me with this problem apple
I have the iPhone 4. imessage was fine after the iOS 6.1.3 to begin with, but these last 3 days I haven't even been able to send one. My phone doesn't even recognise when someone has imessage either. Have tried turning imessage on and off, tried restarting the phone, have even restored it back to before the problems I have been having
Hi,I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue & can provide a fix or offer advice on why this is happening? I have an iphone 4s & very happy with is. However. when the battery % lever reaches 20% the phone 'switches' off - if I connect the charge cable the battery indicator says 1% & charging. Yet if I then hold the power button to swich the iphone on, it says 21% & charging. Any idea why this is happening & how I get the battery to show correct value. On an aside - it charges fine to 100% and iphone is overwise fine. Thanks, T
For about 6 weeks now, a lot of the time when I send a photo via imessage it always comes back as "not delivered" but the recipient actually gets it. This is extremely annoying and has only been doing it recently. Anybody else experiencing the same thing and/or have a fix for this?
Hey guys, my iPhone 5 was bought in December at Bestbuy. I just made an appointment at the Genius Bar and I wanted to ask some questions about the one year warranty included with the phone. My phone had been working fine for the past six months and it's never been treated harshly ( I've always kept a good case on it and a screen protector ) however yesterday my lock button stopped working... whenever I click it the phone does not respond to it. The phone is basically new when taken out of the case and the only reasonable explanation for this, in my opinion is a defect of manufacture that recently showed up. I'm wondering what will apple do when I take my phone in? Will they replace it for another? Attempt to fix it? Will any charges be present? And what should I bring just incase they decide to replace it ( ex. headphones, charger?) Thank you.
I am using an iPhone 4. Someone has registered their phone number for the imessage and I am unable to change it to my phone number. Similarly for FaceTime too. Please help.
To avoid extra charges when I travel, do I turn on airplane mode? Will that automatically turn of voice and data roaming? Should I leave wifi on?
Hi. I have a iPhone 5. When I plug my phone In to charge it charges fine but it has to be plugged in perfectly straight. If I move or knock the charging adapter in the phone it will stop charging even though it is still plugged in the phone. The adapter seems like it only can be charged when it is in a certain position. This is obviously a fault. It is not my adapter as I have tried several different ones. There must be something wrong with the charging port on the iPhone. What I would like to know would this be coved under apples warranty?
My imessage isn't work it keeps saying its activating but then it says it unsuccessful what do I do to get it to work??
My cable never charges in one position and is intermittent in the other. Is this a common problem , dirt or component failure? How good is Apple at standing behind this cable?
Haven't had my iPhone for long (around November for my birthday) and for about the last couple of weeks recently I have had major trouble with the battery charge. At first I thought it was the cables, so I got new one after new one and they'd work but then stop working. Until the last one I just purchased, it pretty much stopped charging the phone straight away. No lightening or sound response, no connection via computer etc. So, when my charge ran out I still had it plugged into my computer and now my phone only chargers when it's off when it's plugged into a USB port (bear in mind, it doesn't connect to iTunes-it says USB is unrecognized although it still chargers the phone when off). However, it charges fairly quickly when off but when in use the charge diminishes just as quick as it takes to charge. Not only that but now whenever I wish to turn my iPhone off, it turns itself back on. I have recently sent off my phone to the Apple store to have it checked over and it came back to me saying they couldn't reproduce the symptons I had mentioned so there was me thinking everything was fine but nope, still faulty. So a bit disappointed with paying £7.00 for delivery to have nothing been done about it (not only that, but the phone as also out of charge when returned so it just seemed like my phone wasn't looked over one bit). Also a bit disappointed and annoyed at the fact I'm still paying for my monthly contract for the phone when I am unable to use it!!! I haven't damaged the phone (it basically looks brand new) and haven't exposed it to any liquids. The USB port on my phone where I charge it seems clear too. The annoyance of having to send it back to Apple costing me more money is offputting so does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to my local 3 store to see if they can help me out but I'm just a bit fed up now. Can see this is a popular problem amongst other iPhone users too. Many thanks! (Oh and need to add I HAVE updated everything on my phone, restored everything, restarted etc.)
1. Starting on April 24th my imessage option stopped working. When I would send a text to another iphone user they wouldn't receive the text. I turned that option off and sent test text messages - they went through. Turned imessage back on - and nothing was received. Does anyone know why that would be happening? It is rather frustrating when a needed function does not work. 2. Also, I can not receive picstures over text anymore. I can receive them when I open my messenger program on my laptop, but nothing over text. Does anyone know what is going on with these issues?!
I got my iphone 4s a little less than two weeks ago and I am getting 4 hours of use and 4 hours of standby before my battery is almost dead. It also gets hot while charging or sometime while just texting people. I took the phone to my local sprint store and they tested the battery and said it was fine. I really don't see what else I can do. I turned siri off. I don't have many apps at all. I even exit them all out constantly every few minutes. I've tried everything anyone has said to try and help it but no luck. I don't even get service in my house so I'm rarely ever on the phone (maybe a combined total of 1 hour since I have had the phone) and the only texts I send are to people that have imessage because those can be sent with wifi. I really don't want to have to send my phone to apple and wait. But because the test showed nothing, sprint will not give me a new phone. What can I do?
Hey all, I have an iPhone 5, obviously less than a year old, and am having a really strange problem. Two days ago, I was able to charge my phone, sync it, everything like it was normal. Yesterday, it decided it won't charge. When the phone is dead, and I plug it in it has the normal charging screen and will get to 5% like usual. But then, there is no charging battery, and my phone charges SUPER slow. For example, yesterday I plugged in my phone at 3:50pm with 1%, and when I unplugged it (never used it while charging) it was 9:15pm and 34%. Continuing to charge it from then has resulted it up to 50% now. When it's plugged into my computer (Windows 7 Professional), I get a notification that says the USB device has malfunctioned. So I know from this and the very slight charging that it shouldn't be the cord, there is still communication between the two. I haven't updated my phone to the latest settings (it's on 6.0.2) and I'm struggling to try to update it now. I also don't want to Reset all Settings due to some of my photos and videos that I need to save and I don't want those deleted. What do I do? How do I go about fixing this situation? It really shouldn't be a battery since it's a decently new phone. It's been handled great and there is no damage to it and no drops. Help!
I get a "waiting for activation" message when trying to turn on imessage and Facetime. I rebooted the phone and reset the network settings but it did not work. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
So I had an iphone 4 which was configured to another network, a GSM network but now I have an iPhone 5 which is on AT&T's network. It seems that my iPhone 5 wont let me send picture messages unless its through imessage. Could this possibly be due to the network setting that were on my iPhone 4 ? if so how do i reverse this
iPhone 5 won't charge correctly. Only charges when I put pressure to one side on the connector. I know you're thinking "It's the cable or the wall adapter. It's not. I have 5 genuine apple lightning cables, happens with all of them whether plugged in to an ac outlet, USB on a pc, or in my car. This is my 3rd iPhone 5 since my original purchase in October. The other 2 phones failed with this exact problem. The last time, I took the non charging phone in to a Verizon store (no apple stores near me) and asked them if they had seen it before, they told me that my phone was the only one they ever seen with that issue. So they offered to call apple and ask if this is a known issue with iPhone 5's, they also responded that they haven't seen this issue. Is this true? Am I the only one with this issue, for 3 phones in a row?? Seems unlikely. Anyway, I ask if anyone else has had this happen because if this is in fact something that happens often, I'm going to get a different phone. I love my iPhone 5, but not enough to go through this every month or two.
I have an iPhone 4S that seems to work fine until the battery runs flat to the point there is no response when I press the sleep or home butons, the screen is just blank... When I plug into a charge point it will not take a charge. I have taken it to be repaired a couple of time and the guy a he mall fixes it in just a few mins and charges me 40 bucks. So long as I charge it before it goes dead flat I have no problem recharging or recognizing the phone on iTunes.Any help would be greatly appreciated...
I did as my friend and pressed settings then messages but at last there wasn't "imessage "activate on thing. I also searched on web, it didn't work out really well .
Hi my iPhone won't sync with iTunes over wifi. When I plug if in with the USB cable it shows up then disappears in iTunes. It also sometimes won't charge. I have to keep plugging it and unplugging it until it charges. I thought it was the cable but that doesn't explain not syncing over wifi. I have the white 16GB iPhone 5 and 2012 MacBook Pro with mountain lion osx
I've tried changing caller ID( iPhone > Settings > Messages Received At > Caller ID you should list the Apple ID that you are using in Messages.) and I've tried signing out of iCloud, NOTHING WORKS! please help

My iPhone is currently not working at my house. It will work while I'm in town. And As of Wednesday night it stopped working. I either have no service or 1 bar. But with that one bar it can not do anything. And everything used to work just fine. The rest of my family has iPhone 4's and they have between 1-3 bars and all of their stuff works just fine. Sometimes imessage works. Sometimes it doesn't. We tried putting in a new SIM card. That didn't work. I've tried to switch the lte service on and off and that doesn't work. I've reset the phone that didnt work. What else can I do to fix this?? Like I said less than a week ago everything was working just fine. Thanks for the info

Well why does some come in crystal clear and some come in like crap? Don't bother calling apple support because they are useless. Just talked to the supervisor or whatever they are called and she was lost. I suggest apple hires people who know what they are talking about.
Why dose my iphone not beep or vibrate no more when i plug in the charger it still charges though
I am in South Africa and my only means with communication back in the States was through iMessagea and FaceTime over wifi. They have been working fine for the past 3 weeks and all of a sudden they have both stopped working and say waiting for activation. I am using the same wifi I have been and I have a strong signal. I have also tried turning wifi off, imessage off, and FaceTime off and resetting the networks, it didn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this? I just don't know why it would be working fine then all of a sudden stop!
My iPhone will only charge when connected to a computer. It was fine this morning and then suddenly it wont charge when connected to adapter for a wall plug or in my car. I have tried 2 different USB cables and they both work with the computer but not the adapter for a wall plug or in my car. I have connected my iPad to both cables and the adapter for the wall plug and it charges just fine. Its just my phone, not the cables, not the adapters.....So has anyone else had this issue? Should I reset the phone? I was hoping to not have to go that far, but I'll do what I have to do. Or do you think my phone is broken?
For about a week, imessage has not been working on my iPhone 4. It is turned on, I have wifi, and service. It is not just my phone, either. Friends with iPhones have had the same problem. I thought at first, that there was something down with Verizon, but users with AT&T have had the same issues. Has anyone had the same issue or know if something is going on?
Hi,I have an iPhone 5 and Macbook Pro 13" Retina. I "imessage" from both, and it worked smoothly before but now I am starting to have some problems.. First of all, on my Macbook, I can imessage people easily, but whenever I send it from my laptop, it does not sync to my phone. When i try to send a imessage from my phone, it says delivered, but the person on the other line sends back their answer in regular "text" form for EVERY one of their replies . It has been happening for a couple of days now and it is getting really annoying... Any ideas? Thanks!
My iPhone has stopped sending iMessages to one singular contact. Before today we have been using imessage to communicate regularly. This is the only contact that imessage does to not work with on my phone and on his he can imessage me but I don't receive these messages. Also in group chats we can no longer communicate due to this issue.
Was charging my iphone 5 for about an hour or so after charging unplugged and went to playing games phone was at 5% so I grabbed my cable and plugged it into the wall nothing happened tried three different chords and blocks and sockets afterwards I plugged my phone into the computer and it wouldn't charge or sync with iTunes it acted as if it wasn't even plugged in so I shut the phone off and though I'd give It a break and try again later. As I got ready to go to bed I though I'd try to plug it back in and see if anything happened nothing did so I just left it I went to mess with it this morning and come to find out it was at 100% I continued to mess with it and i came to the conclusion that it only charges when turned off. I can't get the phone to reset and would love to restore with iTunes if it would sync with iTunes I don't know what I need to do but really need my problem resolved since its a hassle to have to turn off my iphone in order to get it to charge
My phone is only allowing me to send and receive people who have iPhone. I'm able to text people without iPhones but I cant get any back. But I am able to get picture messages from all phones. Can anyone help me!!
I have brought an iPhone 5 and did a sim swap with my orange contract (EE) since putting the sim in I can only use my 3G, imessage and apple ID...can't send or receive calls or txt, what can I do?? I'm running on ios 6.1.3.
Have to wait for iPhone to be dead or off to see that it has a connector plugged in. When dead it charges until it turns on then stops charging. Have had this problem on and off for a year, never got it fixed or seen as it costs more than I can afford. The following has been tried and did not work : -apple power adapter w/apple connector-3rd party power adapter-apple and 3rd party connectors-plugging into laptop/computer/docking station Have tried multiple cables, chargers and computers. The phones never really liked charging properly. Im surprised its lasted this long. running ios 6.1 (10B142) Any help would be awesome.
Suddenly, about a week ago, shortly after I upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 my iPhone 4S will no longer charge from any AC chargers, but still charges from the USB port in my laptops and work desktop. I have 5 or 6 wall chargers both Apple and other brands it won’t charge from any of them. They work fine charging my wife’s iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 and iPad 4. I have seen others post about this problem but there are no fixes posted to date.
i Have Activated My Iphone with NET10, my friend also has net10 and he can imessage perfectly, but when i try to imessage him it will show up as my email and my number doesn't show on "start new conversations" i've already tried changing my number on the phone settings, and on my apple ID, still doesn't work. help please
My imessage hasn't been working for a few days. I see there were service issues but there are nine showing now and mine is still not working?!?! Thanks muchly.
My imessage won't work I have turned it off and then back on and turned imessage off and then back on and even updated my phone it won't work.
Has anyone come across this problem? It started at 3am this morning. The noise the phone makes when you first connect it to the charger was going off every few seconds. Since then it kind of charges then eventually jumps to the "Charging is not supported with this accessory" notice. Not sure what else to try. Its on the latest software version etc and I have tried 3 chargers and plugging it into the laptop but no joy. This is the 2nd iphone 4 I have had in 2 years. First one the home button broke after 7 months and this one is now doing this. I have seen lots of post about this but cant seem to find a solution.
