my iphone 5 starting acting up lately.  i am online but there is no wifi icon on top.  when i checked the speed of my router, macbkpro will register 3mbps., ipad2 will register 2.3mbps and my iphone 5 will have a measly .35mbps. taking into consideration that my ipad 2 has the wifi issues because of ios6 which was much discussed here in the forum.  i have mentioned before that before ios6, my ipad has better signal than my iphone. but after ios 6, iphone5 showed better signal with the same set of circumstances of the router.   3g signal is very good but there is frequent failure or delay in sending text messages and frequent dropped or choppy signal of  phone calls.what is wrong with my phone. should i have it exchanged?

Please Help-How I Permanently Save iPhone Messages to Mac

Hello,      I currently have an iPhone 4s 16 GB and am quickly running out of storage space.  I only have about 700 MB of space remaining and my "Other" category is taking up 6.27 GB of space!  I believe that most of this is because of my text messages; I have never deleted any of them and I'm in a group message that easily accumulates over 150 texts per day, so I need space, and fast!!!  I have read about several programs and am definitely willing to buy one, but I would like first-hand information about these programs.  I'm looking for a program that will save my SMS, MMS, and imessage text messages to my MackBook so that I can delete them from my iPhone.  I would need a program that will save the messages permanently.  I want to be able to save the messages to the program, delete them from my phone, connect my phone to the program at later dates and save additional messages, and not lose any messages at all.  I don't want an app that I can only save messages to once because if I try to save more, it gets rid of the old ones and only saves the new ones.  I'm not sure how any of the programs work as far as that goes, so if anyone could reccommend a program to me that would do what I'm looking for, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!!! Thank you in advance for the help!!!

How to use imessage for specific contacts iPhone 5

I'm thinking this is impossible, but I thought I'd post and see if I could get an answer. I am running short on data and have unlimited texts and therefore I turned imessage off because I don't have access to WiFi anywhere. But I found out that it's the only way that I can contact some friends that are out of the country. Is there a way that I can enable imessage only for those people and leave it disabled for everyone else? I've looked through the forums and searched for the answer, but I can't even find someone who has the same problem as me. Any help would be appreciated.

camera on i5 not focusing iPhone 5

My camera was working fine and taking great pictures then one day it just stopped focusing and the pictures are blurry.  If I switch it to the front camera it works well and looks like it should but when I turn it back it goes back to being out of focus and I can't figure out how to fix it?  Any suggestions or do I need to take it to Apple? Thanks,Laurie

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4, I recently went on vacation overseas and was using a gsm sim from that country, naturally the imessage and all werent working but I figured it was because I was out of the US. Since I've gotten back, and started using my old sim, my imessage, iCloud, Facetime, and MMS messaging aren't working. It wont even allow me to activate, the buttons are gray, it's locked or something. And its not a network problem because my sim is working fine, internet, apps everything. Except for imessage, iCloud..etc. Can anyone help?

We have not been texting through imessage, just SMS, but he is sending them from his ipod. Receiving US number s imessages to international number iPhone

Hi all,  Haven't been able to find anything on this. I have an iPhone 4s which I had been using to imessage over wifi with my friends while I'm in China (took out my Verizon sim card). I got an international (China Mobile) SIM card today after unlocking w/ verizon, etc. But now my old number is not "registered" with imessage (I checked this in messages on my macbook) and changing my number in my phone isn't helping.  Is there a way that I can readd my US number so that when people imessage my US phone number it goes to my iPhone which is now a different, international number?  My Apple ID still has my old number registered in it, but the Messages settings in my phone show the new international number without a means to add my old number. I'd rather use my US number over my Chinese phone number if theres a way that I can set it back to that number.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using imessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use imessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. Screen display problems LCD iPhone 5

I bought an iPhone 5 six months ago from Roger's Wireless and I also paid for the application of a screen protector, for a long time both of these worked very well and I had no problems. The other day I put my iPhone into my locker at work and came back a few hours later to find that two spots had appeared on the display. One was near the top of the screen and it looked like a dis-colored splotch while the other one, that was near the bottom of the screen, looked like someone tried to scratch the screen with a dull object . When I turn off the display and examined the outside of the phone there is no scratches or any other physical damage to the phone, I think it may have something to do with the LCD screen. Also, my locker was locked so I know no one was fooling around with it although humidity or something could have played a factor but I'm not entirely sure. The spots are relatively small but pretty annoying, before this my iPhone was in perfect shape . I'm not sure if I am covered by the one year warranty because my phone may have water damage (although I am not sure). I remember a few months back dropping it into a deep pile of snow and when I took it out it was pretty wet, but still continuted to work perfectly find. Regardless, I'm pretty sure thats accident caused the water damage indicators in my phone to be set off . I looked all over the internet and there is different ways of taking off the actual LCD screen and replacing it yourself but I think I would much rather get this done by a professional. I have also heard that the spots may go away eventually. I am not sure if I am going to send my phone in right away but any help at all would be awesome. Thanks!

Character count not work for all contacts anymore. iPhone

I have an iPhone 4 running 6.1.3 with character count enabled and on the Sprint network. Recently character count stopped working when texting at least one of my contacts that i know for sure. I haven't gone through to see how many other contacts have the same issue, but i know it still works for some other contacts. Why would character count show for some of my contacts but not others? And what would cause it to stop working when it showed the number of characters before?I have found the problem exists regardless of if it's an SMS text or imessage. And there is only one contact at a time that is the recipient; it is not an MMS. Is it possible that there actually is more than one recipient that i'm not aware of or is there another reason why character count would stop working only for certain contacts all of a sudden?

Hello, and thank you for reading. I have an iPhone 4s, and my primary email account is Gmail. I can receive emails, but I can't send them. When I try to click on the little pen icon to write an email, the app crashes/quits and I'm sent back to the homescreen. I saw that most people who can't send email receive an error message, but I've never received an error message, the app just stops. I checked in the Settings, and every thing seems to be in order (I'm not extremely tech savvy, so I could be wrong). I started to experience this problem maybe a week ago. Also, my Messages app can be a little sketchy sometimes too. When I'm connected to Wifi and trying to send an imessage, the message won't send and there will be a little red exclamation point next to the message. My Messages app works sometimes, but do you all think that the problems are linked somehow? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm out of the office a lot, and it's an inconvinecne that I can't send emails while I'm on the road. I am planning on buying an unlocked iPhone 5 with T-Mobile Nano S . I have few questions.

I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iPhone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans?  Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iPhone? Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally? Thank you in advance!

iPhone won't Charge iPhone 5

Okay so i had problems with my iPhone earlier. It would power off randomly when I was or wasnt using it. And i also charged it when I had 30% but on the top right corner for the battery icon, where its suppose to show ' charging ' it showed Fully charged. and after it died, I plugged it back in with it saying its charging. The symbol with a low red battery with a charging sign. It stayed on that symbol for more than 12 hours and never turned on to the lock screen. And if i take it out of charge, it completely shuts off.But when i plug it back in , it has the apple symbol from when you turn it back on after you powered it off. It did that symbol repeatedly. Please help. The problem: Won't charge or turn on to lock screen  Is there anyway I can do it besides taking it to Apple? Thanks (: I don't think I backed up anything, but I maybe did and I have lots of things on my phone. So is there any other solutions that I can use besides restoring it?

I need to print an imessage conversation going back almost 2mos. HELP iPhone 3G

I have an iPhone 4S. My software and iTunes versions are up to date. My computer runs Windows XP (not so up to date, I know). Here's my dilemma: I'm in the middle of a legal battle (details don't really matter). Point is, I need the ENTIRE conversation to use as evidence in court. Phones are not allowed in the courtroom so I'm left with no other option except to figure out how to print them. I have called my service provider to try and get the transcripts. They told me to call the Apple Help Center. I called Apple, they told me to talk to my service provider. The typical run around. I finally spoke with someone who somewhat sounded like they knew what they were doing, but their only suggestion for me was to download an app that would allow me to export the messages off of my phone onto my computer. Unfortunately, he could not suggest any app inparticular (go figure).  Here's my other problem: because I'm in the middle of a legal battle, I'm a little short on funds. Does anyone know of any programs for download that are similar to BackupTrans that I can use for free? OR, there is an app in the AppStore called "SMS Export" made by Fabrizio Farenga for $5.99... Can anyone tell me if this app is worth the 6 bucks to purchase (does it actually work?)? I desparately need this conversation to use in court. Someone please give me some ideas!

vodafone issues iPhone 4S

Hi all,  i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

Hey guys, I can play music and hear it just fine, with or without headphones. When I press on the keypad I can hear the noise it makes, I can hear calls with my headphones plugged in, or when the speaker option is on, however, unless this happens, I can't hear the person I am on the phone with. I've tried restarting, resetting, earasing all content, and restoring it with iTunes and that didn't work. I've tried cleaning the ports with a toothbrush, or pressing gently on the microphone and that didn't work.I've tried calling with the headphone on, and taking them off in the middle of the call and that didn't work either. I am currently outside of the US so I can't go to an Apple store, so I am wondering if any of you guys have been succesful at solving this problem. Hi everyone, I have an interesting situation going on here.  Today, I had my iPhone replaced due to an issue at the Apple store in Las Vegas. I have an iPad in addition to my iPhone. Prior to the replacement, my iPad and iPhone were fully synced in imessage. Now, however, after setting this up again, I have lost all of my messages on my iPhone. They are still, however, in my iPad. How can I get them to sync back with my iPhone? I also had my iPhone replaced once before, and I believe it synced right back and I didn't have this problem then (although I didn't have the iPad with me at the time, so that is weird); I don't remember how I did it though.  Hoping to get some help with this, thanks in advance!

iPhone 5 scratched Bezel issue

hi basically i got an iPhone 5 on contract from Carphone Warehouse (it has 1 year warranty from apple) about a month ago, It had a few small scuffs out of the box which i didn't really worry too much about at the start however i used a case i purchased through the apple store taking it off and cleaning and putting it back on about every week or so and have noticed some quite bad scratches on the side ( some visible without light shining on them and many with ) i have phoned apple who said they cant replace it as it is not a technical fault ( I did not mention scratches out of the box ) and carphone warehouse told me to speak to apple to get it replaced.Is there anything else I can do? iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!
