Ive just updated to IOS 6.1.4 not sure if this is the cause but today when playing music through speakers and my headphones its really quiet. any way to fix this? and yes ive checked all volume levels. i also have a tone for new mail and nomatter if i put it one silent or no tone or change the tone it still makes this one tone. doing my head in. please help. thanks

phone speaker not work when making call iPhone 4

When making a phone call i can hear the person on the call, yet when i speak they cannot hear me.  Seldom times the phone speaker will work where the other person on the call can hear me, but moments later it will mute again. I've had success using viber and can make voice control which makes things more confusing. Any ideas? Regards  Ibrahim Gungor

I think my phone hacked iPhone 4S

Someone tried to access my online account the first day I got my phones. The carrier texted me. I rcvd snail mail that they tried to access it again and were given a temp password. I have blocked all access to my online account- I can't even access it.  My phone is now burning hot, and under Diagnostics and usage, the dates are out of order and they look suspicious- I see words like  apple user ID, daemon,etc.Please help! My ex keeps getting in all my info, accounts, emails.. Really hot iPhone iPhone 5

I just bought an iPhone 5 this past Friday for my first smartphone with Verizon, and I have been pretty happy with it so far, though I haven't been using it too heavily. Today, I had it with me all day long, and it seemed like the more I used it, it got pretty hot. Even hot to the point where I couldn't hold it in my hand in an air conditioned room. When this started to happen, I noticed a small spot in the upper right hand corner of the screen that turned yellow, almost like a sunspot. Seeing that, I turned it off for a bit, then turned it back on, and it was still there. I then didn't touch it for awhile, let it cool down, and when it did, the spot disappeared.  So I brought it back to vErizon where i brought it, and by that time it colled off and the spot gone, so they couldn't help me, but they did say to bring it to the Apple store and they can plug it in to see how hot it has been in the past. Is there any way that I can look at this myself rather than driving the distance to go to one, because there's not one incredibly close to me. Also, has anyone heard about this spot before?  I'm worried about the heat output of these thigns because when my Otterbox comes in the mail, i'm worried about that heating up then shutting itself down, because my iPod does that from time to time in it's Defender. Thoughts? Thanks

Makingreceiving call mic problems iPhone

Hi, I understand there are two mics on the iphone 4, which would explain my problem. I need a DIY fix if possible please. When I'm making a call, the person im speaking to can only hear a extremely faint voice from me, so faint they would need to be in a sound proof room to hear me. If I switch to speaker phone they can hear me fine, as im guessing this uses the other mic located on the top of the iphone. I've seen a youtube fix for a mic which isn't working. Would this be the fix involving opening iphone and inserting a piece of card or plastic to create pressure on the chip?  Any comments or advice would be most grateful.

Hey all,I receive code 43 on my pc upon connecting iphone 4s. I have tried all the 'simple' fixes the internet has to offer: -restarting, -completely powering off and 0removing the battery, -different USB port, - troubleshooting and auto repairing the drivers, -checking my firewall and possible relaxing it (although odd, it was actually suggested to me). my iphone mic not working

Well after a fall from around 10cm high my mic stopped working. I could listen to all my ringtones, i can voice record but when comes to phone call i cant hear anything or be heared even if i use the loudspeaker. Also when a call is established the speaker option is enabled automatically. Replacing mic will work ? Anyone had similar problem?

Why no international warranty option for iPhone 5

Why is there not an option available to extend the iPhone warranty to an international warranty? Especially with a phone that you tend to take with you whenever you travel having to go to the country you bought it originally is a pain and sometimes not feasible. In my case : when I travelled from Hong Kong to a business trip in the Netherlands and then on to the US my iPhone 5 got stolen at the airport in Hong Kong. luckily I only had a prepaid SIM for Hong Kong in the iPhone so I went online and ordered a new simlock free  iPhone 5 at the Dutch online Apple store to be delivered in Amsterdam a few days later. So far, so good. I am currently in China and my iPhone 5 sleep button broke down. As I had to be in Hong Kong last week I thought I would stop by the Causeway Bay Apple Store after making a genius bar appointment. They checked the iPhone 5 and confirmed the sleep button was broken and it would be swapped for a new one. However on checking my serial number they told me I had to go back to The Netherlands to get it fixed.... So here is a problem, I am not planning on being there any time soon. Why is it not possible in the global economy we live in to get an international warranty?  I called Apple Care and they suggested I could try in an Apple store in North Carolina where I am due in a few weeks, but they could not guarantee they would swap the phone. Now the end of July  I am due in the UK and from what I read now an iPhone bought in any EU country could be swapped in another EU country. so that would mean I could swap it in London?  Very odd.  Always travel with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and these do have international warranty.

I have been using my iPhone 5's app Notes to dictate my inventory and send it to my computer rather than typing in everything... until today. The microphone icon in Notes is gray.  I checked Messages and mail to find that the microphone is operable within those apps.  Where do I go from here?

warranty question iPhone 5

My Iphone 5 been having trouble connecting to a cellular network.  The tech I spoke to said that my problem was covered under warranty, and I made arrangments to mail it off.  Of course I would drop it and the back glass around the camera cracked.  Does this void any type of repair that I was going to recieve? 

Mic problem iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 doesn't record any audio when I record videos, nor does it record any audio when using video apps like vine and snapchat. I am still able to record voice memos, which seems strange. I have no problems making phone calls.   **Just to get the obvious out of the way**  - no the phone is not under warranty. - please do not suggest that I take it to a mac store, I am aware of this option, I am looking for alternative solutions. - It's definately a 4, it's not a 4S

message on my iphone 4s delivered late and I can t receive calls for some time

It's almost 6 months since I've encountered this problem. I already requested my carrier to have my iphone 4s replacedand a series of testing was done to my iphone 4s before they found out this it was defective. Now, I have my new iphone 4s but the same problem was again encountered. The message delivered late and sometimes messages aren't received at all. Though I have a complete network bar as seen on the upper corner of the screen, incoming calls aren't received and outof coverage area. Hope you can help me on this.

On May 1, 2013 I received from my husband as a gift, an iPhone 5 16GB White (Model A1429) after his return from a trip to the African continent. I used the Iphone 5 for only 15 days, while the rear camera crashed. In an attempt to solve, restored the software and not solved. Then took the Iphone 5 Apple technical assistance in Recife / PE, called iTown where it was found that it was a hardware problem and Iphone 5 should be replaced. However when checking the model of Iphone 5 assistant coach said the serial number on my Iphone 5 (F1HK3LNGDTWF) was not authorized by Apple for replacement and that I should contact the Apple 0800. I made contact and technical support agent (# 451 886 701), Samir, informed me that the model of my iPhone 5 (A1429) is not warranted in Brazil and should submit to Apple in the country where it was purchased. Tell it had received a gift from my husband and had been acquired in a electronics store in Johannesburg international airport, not having expected to return to the country in the coming years. Requested that the equipment be sent through Apple Brazil, to the place where it was possible to repair or replace the Apple Iphone 5 Brazil defective by a new, but Samir informed me that he could not do anything for me and that very sorry. Well, I understand that Apple is a company present in several countries and that your warranty is worldwide. Still hopeful, I sent an email to Apple Feedback reporting the incident, but so far have not received any feedback. I'm very disappointed with Apple for this embarrassment and injury. The Iphone 5 cost USD 1,100.00 and in less than 15 days the camera stopped working.I await a return to Apple with the solution for the inconvenience caused.Sincerely,

Can't hear callers during phone call. iPhone 4

My wife has an iPhone 4 and in the middle of conversations she becomes unable to hear the other person.  When the call starts she can hear them fine, but after a few minutes (sometimes less than a minute) she stops being able to hear the caller, but the caller can still hear her.  Switching to speakerphone does not help. This is a recent issue.  The phone has worked fine for the last 2 years but just started this issue in the last few weeks. Any ideas?

Where are my iPhone messages in iTunes and iCloud iPhone 4S

Hey, there: I have my phone set to back-up to icloud.  I assume when it says "screen locked," that means the little toggle on the upper left. In any case, when I am in iTunes, I find my "libraries" file or whatever has all my voice messages.  But where are the text messages?  I want to both back them up and make hard copies, as I use them for things that need a record. I am of course being clueless.  Thanks. Kenneth

Home button lagging up to hours iPhone 5

Last night my Home button just stopped working. So i started using the AssistiveTouch, then when i was sending a text, then my phone started to use the home button by itself. Like all my clicks had been queued up. I'm talking hours afterwards. Then for a bit, the button worked like it should. But after i put it to sleepmode, the same thing happened.And just now, i playing Candy crush(lol!) it just started again. I couldn't play because it kept going using the home button by itself. Starting voice control etc etc.. I have tried resetting rebooting the phone, I have tried to reset the phone and I have tried to recalibrate the home button. I mean, I could live with a  few seconds delays, but 10 hours? Nope  Any advice is appreciated, otherwise i'll guess I have to go to the closest store.

iPhone e-mail search trouble

When I use the search box in the iPhone e-mail program my results are displayed for a few seconds, but then they disappear as if there are no results for my search. I can repeat the search, but the same thing happens. I am using the most up to date IOS and the problem does not manifest itself on my iPad or Mac. Any help would be appreciated.

I received a suspect email on my iPhone 5 yesterday, which contained only a web link. I deleted it without accessing the link but despite this my phone sent out mails to everyone in my contacts this morning. I have had two returned as not delivered as they were picked up by the antivirus but assume all the others have reached their destination. Do I have a virus or has my mail been hacked? Tons of problems with iPhone 5

Just bought a brand new iPhone 5 from Rogers (Canada) in December. For the month that I've had it I've had MAJOR problems with this device. I've had no major problems with my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S, by the way.- incoming calls get randomly dropped. No "busy signal", the line simply drops dead for whoever tries to call me. It doesn't even alert me that someone tried to call me. I'll only find out later if that person attempts to call again. But what if it's an important call and the person doesn't try calling again? Then I'm screwed. I've tested this by calling my iPhone 5 from another cellphone by holding each phone in one hand. Out of 20 calls, at least 4-5 calls are dropped- Touch screen irresponsive- Very weak signal (on my 3G and 4S the signal bar is usually completely full or one bar from full, on my iPhone 5 it's almost always only half full or less), the signal drops randomly outside (especially when I'm driving, the signal will just poof)I've already exchanged the phone TWICE. First time they exchanged it without question. Second time they told me it could be a carrier issue then told me to reset, restore, etc etc, then gave me a new one again. I'm on my third one, none of these problems are fixed.What are the chances I got 3 defective phones in a row? Seriously what is going on here? I've installed pretty much nothing on this phone except Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Yes I've resetted and restore like N times, and I'm on latest firmware. What should I do? I don't even know if it's a Rogers problem or I've just had the worst luck in the world with 3 defective phones in a row, because none of the customer service people are able to tell me exactly what in the world is going on.

I have multiple people using the same subject line usually as "hey" so it gets all jumbled up together and so confusing! I had changed iPhone cases. I changed from Otterbox to Lifeproof. Bought it from BestBuy and the associate put the case together for me. But now I can't hear my ringtone, text alert or mail alert unless I have my headphones on my ear. Is this a glich on the iphone. What should I do? Thank you.

No ringing while connecting to number on an iphone 5 ATT but they can hear me and I can not hear them.

I have an iphone 5 with ATT and sometimes (very randomly) when making a call, it does not make a ringing sound (like it is not connecting), but it has connected and the other person can hear me but I can't hear them at all.  When I do try and say "hello" to see if they can hear me all I hear is my own voice echoing back.  Other times the phone conncts and rings immediately and I know then that the call is working. I actually got it to do this while on the phone on my landline with applecare. I did all of the resets with Apple and they determined it was a hardware problem and I received a new phone. It seemed to be ok, but three days after activating it, the same thing happened. There does not seem to be any common factor.  It happens with landlines, cell phones, inside, outside and it does not always do it to the same number twice.  It is a complete crap shoot. I have noticed that is it much more likely to happen if I go through "contacts" or "recents" to make the call. It has also happened a few times when using Siri to call. I never know until I don't hear the ringing sound that the call is messed up.  This is awful when trying to contact a business and you have to keep calling them back.  Anyone else?

Moving voice Memo s from iPhone to computer

I have a bunch of voice memos that I need to move from my phone to my computer. I was able to playback the voice memos from my iphone within iTunes.  It shows up as a playlist called voice memos under my iphone. From there, there is no way to export the audio files to my actual computer. I can export the data as a text file but thats about it. The files are too long to email. Any suggestions? I am running on a mac with mountain lion.

Honestly, it feels like my iPhone is shrinking. About a month ago I had so much space... I have an iPhone 4 8gb. But I used to have tons of apps tons of picures and music. Now, I have had to delete all my pictures I have 15--can't take anymore. Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Nike Run (just downloaded- only 2 runs saved), Pandora, and a few bands on my phone..... my storage breaks down as... 1.33 GB of music...150 songs.....Photos 27.6...15 pictures...Apps 377.5....6 Apps and 4.50gb of "OTHER" I tried everything clearing each cache on my phone for data deleting apps I didn't use music I don't listen to.... clearing safari out deleting mail accounts....deleting and redownloading apps to clear more storage because I know the more use the apps the more the data goes up. I just don't understand all those are tiny little spaces filled "OTHER" is HUGEEE? I used to have so much space 100s of pictures all those apps and music I don't understand why it is shrinking!! Any ideas what I can do to get rid of this other stuff???  Thank you!

Battery Drain issue while recording video Iphone 5

Iphone 5 that I've had for less than a year seems to have horrible battery life. I'm mainly on wifi all day long with very strong signal. Most of my 8-10 hr day is occassionally checking my hotmail or exchange email.  My Time since last charge currently at 43%: usage is 3hrs and 34 minutes, and standby time of 9 hours and 35 minutes.  The strangest issue I'm having is when I record video. I'll usually record 2-3GB worth of video (over 8-10 videos) in a day depending on what I'm uploading to youtube. I'll record a bunch of video, and look at the battery life. It will drop down to 2-3% after recording, and sometimes even shut the phone all the way off. Press the power button and it blinks at you to plug it in. I'll go plug it in, and when it powers back on, it will be anywhere from 20-50% power (1 minute after plugging it in).  Yesterday it was down to 3%, so I powered it off, then back on again, and it jumped back up to 54% I've done a wipe and reset to factory and restore from iCloud and that doesn't seem to have done much.  I've drained the battery all the way dead, and let it recharge fully mulitple times, no help their either. I'm using the factory Iphone charging cable and wall charger.  Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a faulty battery? I've recorded hundreds of videos with my iphone 4 and never had issues with excessive drain while recording, and the same on my wife's 4S..Thanks

New Viber user on iphone 4S. Viber works fine except my phone only rings or notifies me of Viber message if Viber app open and showing. ie if phone in sleep mode etc it doesn t ring.

Becasue last night i cleared all my history and closed the phone and i wake up to this. Well, I have not jailbreak my phone and its about 2 month old. Are the a risk that my iphone 4 has been hacked? (My yahoo account got hacked lately)

iPhone 5 power button failing

Today I noticed my iPhone 5's power/lock button on the top of the phone appears to be failing. Sometimes pressing the button does nothing, and sometimes it seems to think I pressed it twice. The right side seems to have more problems than the left, which usually works most of the time.  I read that iPhones come with a 1 year warranty, so it's still under warranty. I've never had to have an Apple product repaired, so I was wondering how it works. There's only 4 Apple stores in my state, and none of them are close to me, so I'd have to send it in by mail if that was an option. Is that possible, and assuming it is, would it cost anything? Or do you think it would be covered in the warranty? All I need is that button replaced, I'm not sure if they can do that or if they give you a new phone. I read this is a fairly common problem, and I treat my phone well, I don't press hard or anything. Thanks in advanced
