Charging cable won't stay in jack on iPhone 5

I bought two iPhone 5's yeasterday and the plugs on the charging cables don't make contact with the contacts on the phone jack.  If I lift the phone the plug falls out.  My phone did not get charged throughtout the night even though it was plugged-in.  Are others having this same problem?

Hello,      I currently have an iPhone 4s 16 GB and am quickly running out of storage space.  I only have about 700 MB of space remaining and my "Other" category is taking up 6.27 GB of space!  I believe that most of this is because of my text messages; I have never deleted any of them and I'm in a group message that easily accumulates over 150 texts per day, so I need space, and fast!!!  I have read about several programs and am definitely willing to buy one, but I would like first-hand information about these programs.  I'm looking for a program that will save my SMS, MMS, and iMessage text messages to my MackBook so that I can delete them from my iPhone.  I would need a program that will save the messages permanently.  I want to be able to save the messages to the program, delete them from my phone, connect my phone to the program at later dates and save additional messages, and not lose any messages at all.  I don't want an app that I can only save messages to once because if I try to save more, it gets rid of the old ones and only saves the new ones.  I'm not sure how any of the programs work as far as that goes, so if anyone could reccommend a program to me that would do what I'm looking for, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!!! Thank you in advance for the help!!!

I'm thinking this is impossible, but I thought I'd post and see if I could get an answer. I am running short on data and have unlimited texts and therefore I turned iMessage off because I don't have access to WiFi anywhere. But I found out that it's the only way that I can contact some friends that are out of the country. Is there a way that I can enable iMessage only for those people and leave it disabled for everyone else? I've looked through the forums and searched for the answer, but I can't even find someone who has the same problem as me. Any help would be appreciated.

Character count not work for all contacts anymore. iPhone

I have an iPhone 4 running 6.1.3 with character count enabled and on the Sprint network. Recently character count stopped working when texting at least one of my contacts that i know for sure. I haven't gone through to see how many other contacts have the same issue, but i know it still works for some other contacts. Why would character count show for some of my contacts but not others? And what would cause it to stop working when it showed the number of characters before?I have found the problem exists regardless of if it's an SMS text or iMessage. And there is only one contact at a time that is the recipient; it is not an MMS. Is it possible that there actually is more than one recipient that i'm not aware of or is there another reason why character count would stop working only for certain contacts all of a sudden?

Can t send emails on iPhone 4s. No error messages. App just quits.

Hello, and thank you for reading. I have an iPhone 4s, and my primary email account is gmail. I can receive emails, but I can't send them. When I try to click on the little pen icon to write an email, the app crashes/quits and I'm sent back to the homescreen. I saw that most people who can't send email receive an error message, but I've never received an error message, the app just stops. I checked in the Settings, and every thing seems to be in order (I'm not extremely tech savvy, so I could be wrong). I started to experience this problem maybe a week ago. Also, my Messages app can be a little sketchy sometimes too. When I'm connected to Wifi and trying to send an iMessage, the message won't send and there will be a little red exclamation point next to the message. My Messages app works sometimes, but do you all think that the problems are linked somehow? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm out of the office a lot, and it's an inconvinecne that I can't send emails while I'm on the road. Hopefully someone here can help me...  My iCloud always shows my backup as being 4.8GB, even with EVERYTHING turned off. After downloading iOS 7 I figured out the problem: I have 4.8 GB of  "Messages (Saved)". This is even after deleting ALL my messages. I'm not sure what this could be. I tried PhoneCleaner, i FunBox, and everything else I can find, but I can't find a way to access or view these messages to delete them. Could someone help me? I can't back anything up to iCloud with it like this.Note: this was happening even before i upgraded to iOS 7.

On May 1, 2013 I received from my husband as a gift, an iPhone 5 16GB White (Model A1429) after his return from a trip to the African continent. I used the Iphone 5 for only 15 days, while the rear camera crashed. In an attempt to solve, restored the software and not solved. Then took the Iphone 5 Apple technical assistance in Recife / PE, called iTown where it was found that it was a hardware problem and Iphone 5 should be replaced. However when checking the model of Iphone 5 assistant coach said the serial number on my Iphone 5 (F1HK3LNGDTWF) was not authorized by Apple for replacement and that I should contact the Apple 0800. I made contact and technical support agent (# 451 886 701), Samir, informed me that the model of my iPhone 5 (A1429) is not warranted in Brazil and should submit to Apple in the country where it was purchased. Tell it had received a gift from my husband and had been acquired in a electronics store in Johannesburg international airport, not having expected to return to the country in the coming years. Requested that the equipment be sent through Apple Brazil, to the place where it was possible to repair or replace the Apple Iphone 5 Brazil defective by a new, but Samir informed me that he could not do anything for me and that very sorry. Well, I understand that Apple is a company present in several countries and that your warranty is worldwide. Still hopeful, I sent an email to Apple Feedback reporting the incident, but so far have not received any feedback. I'm very disappointed with Apple for this embarrassment and injury. The Iphone 5 cost USD 1,100.00 and in less than 15 days the camera stopped working.I await a return to Apple with the solution for the inconvenience caused.Sincerely,

Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media"  --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone  "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

Problem with contacts from Facebook on iPhone

Hi there, something weird happened to me and I don't know how to fix this... Now I have about 300 Facebook friends and since the iOS update I have had my facebook friends appear in contacts and I merged the contact in my phone With the contact on Facebook so obv I have it all merged into one, with updated profile pic of fb and link to there facebook all into one neat and tidy  Well for some reason and out the ordinary it has just disappeared, all the fb contacts have gone, when I untick the iCloud box on contacts and just the Facebook box when I go into groups only like a handful of fb contacts are actually there....I've tried unchecking the box in preferences and uninstalling the fb app itself to get these all back and pressing update all contacts in settings too and even though I have like 300+ fb it just says updated 16 or something ridiculous.. Anyways really hope someone can help!  Cheers

So, I have tried the following steps (found here and elsewhere on the web) to get my Facebook contacts out of my phone: Settings > Facebook > Allow these Apps to Use Your Account: Calendar and Contacts to OFF (clicked "Update all Contacts")Result: No change; all Facebook friends in contactsSettings > iCloud > Contacts: set slider to OFFResult: Asked if I wanted to keep the contacts from iCloud on phone. Choosing Yes resulted in no change to contacts. Choosing No deleted all of my contacts from phone (and gave me a heart attack)Facebook App > Log OutResult: No change to contacts.Settings > Facebook > delete Account (to delete account off iPhone only).Result: Took contacts list down to 50 (some random Facebook contacts a few others) and wiped out nearly all manually entered contacts (gave me heart attack # 2).Settings > Facebook > Add Account. Switched from Iphone 4 to Galaxy S4 and cannot receive texts from iPhone s

Yesterday, I switched from the Iphone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy S4.  However, I cannot receive texts from friends with iphones.  For some reason, when they enter my number in their phone, it assumes it is an iphone number and sends an imessage.  We have manually changed the contact info to say mobile instead of iphone.  We have deleted and made myself a new contact.  We have restarted phones.  they can see the messages I send them from my new phone, but I cannot get messages back unless they turn imessage off.  This is troublesome because I cannot ask every contact with an iphone to turn off imessage just to contact me.  We traded in our old phones (my iphone 4), and it was completely wiped and restored to factory settings, so I do not know why this would assume my phone is an iphone.  I talked to a Samsung representative and they said to talk with apple now.

Has else had trouble with iphone 5 touch screen

So this happened within the last week. I bought my iPhone 5 brand new, its been perfect up until i clicked on my email icon at the bottom and it opened the calendar that is at the top of the screen. Also, when typing in imessage it clicked edit by itself, as if i wanted to delete text messages. Also, if you press your finger down on one spot on the screen and don't move, the screen shakes until it randomly decides to click something. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem, if so did you restore it or just take it to apple? Also, If i restart it or do a hard reset it works fine for a bit then randomly decides to go crazy. If someone could help me out,Thanks! Its driving me nuts.

No ringing while connecting to number on an iphone 5 ATT but they can hear me and I can not hear them.

I have an iphone 5 with ATT and sometimes (very randomly) when making a call, it does not make a ringing sound (like it is not connecting), but it has connected and the other person can hear me but I can't hear them at all.  When I do try and say "hello" to see if they can hear me all I hear is my own voice echoing back.  Other times the phone conncts and rings immediately and I know then that the call is working. I actually got it to do this while on the phone on my landline with applecare. I did all of the resets with Apple and they determined it was a hardware problem and I received a new phone. It seemed to be ok, but three days after activating it, the same thing happened. There does not seem to be any common factor.  It happens with landlines, cell phones, inside, outside and it does not always do it to the same number twice.  It is a complete crap shoot. I have noticed that is it much more likely to happen if I go through "contacts" or "recents" to make the call. It has also happened a few times when using Siri to call. I never know until I don't hear the ringing sound that the call is messed up.  This is awful when trying to contact a business and you have to keep calling them back.  Anyone else? 

Facebook contact Sync Problem iPhone 3G

Hi, I never had the problem of syncing my Facebook contacts with my iPhone 5 and iPad 2 but recently I turned off my Facebook contact sync on my iphone 5 at Settings>Facebook>Contacts and turned it on later, and immediately I noticed only 41 out of 817 Facebook contacts were synced with my iPhone and I lost all the merge with my existing phone contacts. I tried this on my brother's iPhone 5 and hitted the same problem, he has 747 Facebook contacts synced to his device prior to turning off the sync, and after turning off the sync and turning it on later, only 75 out of 747 contacts were synced to his iPhone 5. I did not dare to further try this on my iPad 2 as I scare it will screw up the contacts I linked on my iPad.  Looks like there is a problem with Facebook contact sync on iOS. Has anyone encountered this problem?  

Replacement iPhone 5 Scratched

I received my replacement iPhone 5 a couple of weeks ago and assumed that it was a brand new device, so I decided to keep the back plastic on and put it straight into a case to protect it.A couple of weeks later I was cleaning the phone and decided to remove the plastic off the back, I then discovered a scratch that had gone undetected before due to the plastic. There is no possible way I could have done this as the plastic was on the back the whole time.I contacted Apple support and they said that the item is a refurbished replacement but insisted that it had been tested and gone through three times more checks than a new one. I explained that I had the plastic and the case on the device the whole time but he explained that even though he has his device in a case it still has scratches due to dirt that gets trapped inside.The phone is still fully functional and I know that I’m being maybe a bit over the top for one scratch but when I pay £599 for a phone I expect it to be in a perfect condition even if it is a replacement device.I am reluctant to contact support again as I feel as if I’m being over sensitive, however I would like to get some opinions on if you think I should be entitled to a replacement or not.
