Iphone 5 loudspeaker micsirivoice to text not picking up sound.

Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a Iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone.     1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker          they can hear me fine.     2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset.     3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.

I'm restoring my iPhone 4S on iTunes 11.0 and it's stuck on restoring firmware

My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iPhone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?

Iphone 5 keeps turning itself off

Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up.  When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris

iPhone 5 lockscreen green glow

Hey. My iPhone 5 is currently on firmware 6.0.2 and there is an apparent green glow in the lower parts of the lockscreen when I unlock the phone and it gets more prominent if the phone has been unlocked after a longer time. The glow is a lot like the screenshot of other users facing the same problem. Now, I saw that everyone was getting it fixed by asking for a replacement. My problem is, the phone was bought in the UK and I am currently in Bangladesh where there are no official Apple stores. How should I ask for a replacement and what should be the procedure for it?  Really would appreciate some help in this matter

iPhone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g In and Outgoing Calls

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iPhone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working. After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either. The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages. When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services, but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage, can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!   ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings, switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

wifi issue iphone 4s

I have been racking my brain with a wifi issue with my iphone 4s. I cannot toggle the wifi switch to on to allow the phone to search for wifi networks. It seems like an issue with the hardware in the phone. I have done numerous backups and restore to factory settings but the phone refuses to wipe out the existing wifi adress set into the phone and the only way to change this is through the on off function in the phone which I cannot switch on.I cannot restore back to older firmware as even on factory reset it uses 6.1.3 as the OS. I figure this is an apple issue with the phone and needs to be taken back? Barney

Airplay Mirroring and HBO Go Audio Problems iPhone 3G

Hi folks,  Great news a month ago about HBO Go's support of Airplay in-app. However, whenever I try to stream content to my Apple TV, I only receive video. I'm using the latest Apple TV firmware (5.2.1) and an iPhone 4s with 6.1.3. Oddly enough the HBO "Intro" video standard on this application will stream with audio, but main features never have audio. Likewise, Other applications supporting Airplay (Youtube, etc.) will successfully stream both video and audio to the Apple TV. Any idea what's going on? Thanks so much!

I just restored my phone to previous backup and I am now missing my itunes and music applications. How I get them back iPhone 4S

I recently quit my job. When i worked there I was using an iPhone 5 but had to give it up when I left. I have an iPhone 4s and wanted to backup my first phone on to this one. 1) I backed up my iPhone 5 to itunes.2) I plugged in my iPhone 4s and couldnt do a restore because the firmware was out of date. It instructed me to do it as a new phone and then do a buckup. So I set it up as a new phone.3) Updated firmware on 4s4) Restored phone to my iPhone 5 backup. Now everything went well except Im missing some apps. So I have 2 questions: Q1) What apps come with the Iphone 4s, what I cant get out of the app store? Q2) How do I get them back? I am missing iTunes and Music already that I know of and I want to use the phone for music of course. Thanks, the help would be great

iOS 6 to 6.0.1 wifi connectivity still grayed out or disabled after all possible resets restores and updates iPhone 4S

Pls have this to pay attention for. If this is a hardware problem, what must be done to repair it? If that's a bug, when shall A.guys have a fix for that.BTW, may that be a problem actually linked to Bluetooth connectivity in the first turn? Bluetooth connectivity option is constantly "trying to determine it's state" (BT option setting shows "busy" running circle instead of on/off state), and after it finally gets to off state there appears to happen some change to wifi option behavior. Once it had even started back for an hour, but fell back to disabled soon afterwards. At least both these problems appeared together at the same time. All possible resets, firmware restores and 6.0.1 did not fix that. Shall I need to jailbreak the OS to fix it? And btw, the whole situation already ran a lot of people into high spendings for their 2g/3G overwhelming cellular data traffic. Apple to apologize for that at least? Or shall there be iPhone 6 and the problem would remain unfixed and unnoticed?

Factory unlocked a1428 T-mobile firmware iPhone 5

I purchased a factory unlocked 64gb a1428 iphone 5 last November for use on T-Mobile's network.  It is my understanding that there were no hardware changes between the at&t a1428 and the upcoming T-Mobile a1428, as the Qualcomm radio is firmware upgradeable.  I understand that there will not be a user friendly flash upgrade (I wouldn't trust an enduser to administer a firmware update that can permanately brick their phones), So I was wondering if those of us with factory unlocked phones would be able to have the upgrade done at an apple support center?

Cannot get pass Backing Up Iphone part when updating from 4.2.10 Help

Hello! I have an iphone 4 that needed it's software to be updated to the latest version. I've downloaded the latest iTunes to my computer and connected my iPhone to it. A pop-up prompt let's me know that there is a newer software version available to which I click "Update." After downloading the software, the prompts are letting me know that it's "Backing Up Iphone." That is as far as I can get when trying to update. Usually the "status bar" will be slowly moving (letting you know the progress thus far) but in this case it doesn't. All it says is "Backing Up iPhone," and that's as far as it goes.  My phone hasn't been updated and I am stuck at square 1.  I am not able to download certain apps because I need a the latest firmware. If I restore my phone, then try updating will it work? I'm afraid to do that simply because if I rid my apps will I be able to download them again? I don't understand why the phone cannot get passed the "Backing Up" part.  Please help.

iPhone 5 WiFi deadly slow

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) and a new iPad (third generation), and both devices are connected to my WiFi network. My AirPort Express runs firmware 7.6.3 and its wireless security is set to WPA2 Personal with radio mode 802.11n (b/g compatible). I cannot precise when I first notice the problem. Not sure if was before the AirPort Express update or some iOS firmware update. The problem is that my iPhone 5 WiFi is deadly slow. It's virtually impossible to download an app from the AppStore or sync Rdio songs. My iPad's WiFi (and my wife's) is working as expected, though. Things I've tried so far: - I've changed my AirPort Express security to WEP- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n 5GHz- I've reseted the Network Settings- I've tried to download apps using other 802.11n connection (at my parent's)- I've tried to download apps using a "unsecure" network- I've restored my iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 using iTunes (setting it as a new iPhone) I have no idea what to do next... EDIT: - I also did some tests with the Airplane mode ON, just to make sure the iPhone was connected to and using the wifi connection to download the apps and sync Rdio songs.

My iPhone 5 won't restore from backup

I just got the 5 today, and now I'm trying to restore from backup of my 4S. When it first popped up I clicked restore from back up of my previous iPhone, but it told me that the other phone (4S) software or firmware was too old for a backup and set up as a new iPhone and restore, but I had just updated about two weeks ago. That is the first problem. The second problem is when I went into the restore backup all it pulled up on the list was my iPod. I am confused. Can anyone help me? Additional info: I am as of right now updating the 5 to see if that was the problem, but I will comment back if this was the problem or not.

iPhone 4 not show IMEI nor modem firmware

Hello everyone, I've got an iPhone 4 from a friend. The phone does not show the IMEI nor any modem/baseband firmware version. He plugged it off during the update process.I wanted to restore it with iTunes, but this does not help. Is there any possibility to recover it or install a complete new iOS 6.1.2 on it and have 3G and WiFi running? iTunes says, the phone is broken. There was no jailbreak installed. Thanks in advance. Kind regards,Kev

iPhone 4 sound issue please help iPhone 4S

Hi experts, need some help. I've had my iP4 for 2 years now, mostly trouble free.  Recently my sounds have "mostly" stopped working and I just can't figure out why.  I've done a lot of troubleshooting so here is what the symptoms are: - Volume up/down buttons do not work, nothing happens when pressed- Silent switch does not work, nothing happens when switched- Lock sound does not happen- Phone does not ring (only vibrates)- Phone does not alert or chime - Some apps audio does not work, but most apps play audio fine (youtube, music, videos, most games, etc)- When selecting ring-tone or alert sounds I can hear the sound, so the speaker is working fine Here is what I've tried- check all settings and switches, certainly not a setting issue- cleaned the dock connector with a brush, it is very clean- cleaned headphone jack, and insert/remove headphones multiple times- wiped all settings and restored to factory settings- updated to latest ios6 firmware- deleted "com.apple.iapd.plist" file using iexplorer, did nothing Seems like I'm just about out of options now!  Thanks for any help.

Getting error-1 while restoring to iOS 6.1.2. iPhone 5

I just want to make clear I did following, I follow all articles regarding error (-1) in apple support.Updated itunes, Turn off windows firewall, Paused my antivirus, Checked host file, itunes diagnostic test,LAN connections, andTried whole process in 2 different Windows 7 pc. Restore process:Before I update to the new iOS 6.1.2, I tried using my wifi connection and it's pretty slow and not able to do it, so I downloaded iOS 6.1.2.After connect my iphone 5 to my pc, I put it on DFU mode by pressing home and power button together and it appears in recovery mode. I already downloaded iOS 6.1.2, so just holding Shift key and Browse iOS 6.1.2 start restoring my iphone 5. But at the very end it shows error (-1) and interrupt and my iphone again shows iTunes logo. Now I can't go out of DFU mode or update to the latest iOS. It's a brand new phone. It just showing itunes logo. Please help me to fix this issue. While I did the Network Connectivity Tests, I found:Secure link to iTunes Store failed. Summary:Windows Firewall is off.Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful. The network connection timed out.Connection attempt to Gracenote server was successful. I tried everything but those two error got never fixed.

iPhone 4s 6.1.1 problems-Voda UK iPhone 5

My original firmware on my unlocked 4s iphone was 5.1.1. On that firmware I had good call quality, battery life was decent (approx 2days) and generally the phone behaved itself. Then 2 weeks ago I upgraded to iOS 6.1 and I started gettting bad battery drain and the phone needed charging on a daily basis....  Also, there was no change to the call quality and the phone did not drop calls. Then yesterday I upgraded to 6.1.1 - What a mistake that was. Battery life is still as bad as 6.1 if not worse..... In 15hrs the phone is at 20% and has only been lightly used. More worrying is the call quality. For me, the call quality has degraded. I have twice now experienced a cross call! And on three maybe four occasions when I dial a number, I have experienced call break up so bad that I have had to end the call and redial. The call break up sounds as though one is in a tunnel and there are echos and the voice just degrades into unaudible interference..... My conculsion from this is that iOS 6.1 to 6.1.1 has fundamentally altered the way my phone performs and I am not pleased at all. Surely the performance of a phone should not degrade as a result of an iOS update? Apple, please kindly sort this out as it's embarassing....

how i downgrade from 6.1 to 6.0.1-rebooting bad wifi iPhone 4S

I installed 6.1, and now I can't connect to WiFi (the slider for on/off is just greyed out in settings under WiFi). Also, the screen turns off at random, reboots to apple icon every 5 seconds or so, sometimes i get lucky and device boots into the OS! wow.I want off this crazy merry go round.  how do i restore to an earlier firmware, without a backup? I downloaded what I thought was a correct ipsw file for the 4S, but... I got a dlg box saying it couldn't install it...

IOS 6.1 update backup empty iPhone 3G

Hi,I have recently upgraded to IOS 6.1 and had some problems. I shall detail them as they happened. I used iTunes to update my iPhone 4 from 5.1.1 to 6.1. This didn't work and it got stuck in recovery mode.I then went for a full restore to the new firmware which was successful.I restored my phone from a backup that was made only hours before only for there to be no change to the phone. No settings, contacts, messages, photos, app settings appeared on the phone. (The restore completed with no error messages) Confused, I synced a couple of times only to have all my apps appear but still with no data and no other settings. I restored again assuming there was a problem with the install. Same thing. I deleted the downloaded firmware and got a clean version from itunes. Restored, same thing. I was worried I had lost all my data and the backup was useless so I purchased a 'iphone explorer software' to analyse my itunes backup. It seemed ok, everything was there.I then check the file system on the phone and it looks like the restore has completed successfully as all the files are in the device backup folders. I still have no access to my contacts, messages or any settings/user info. What can I do to rectify this? Have I missed something?

restore doesnt restore apps iPhone 3G

Hi I am probably missing something really obvious here, but if i restore my iPhone i lose all my apps, music, photos.....everything. I have to manually sync them all again. To give more details. I have had an issue since 6.0.2 firmware was released that the App Store shows on my phone that updates are available, but i can never get it to load the page to start the downloads. I click on the App Store to be greeted with a blank screen, even though it tells me i have 3, 4, 10 updates needed.I have tried to update them via my PC using iTunes, but it only updates them on my PC, not the phone. So, i deceided to restore the phone and see if that helped, before coming on here to ask advise. I backed up my phone to iCloud as usual, then performed a 'transfer purchases' in iTunes, then a backup.Once that was completed, i restore the phone. It installed the latest software, rebooted, then asked my complete a restore via iTunes. Once the phone was back up and working, i only have the standard 20 apps installed, no music and no photos. It has given me my backgrounds and contacts though. If i look in iTunes, all the apps are there. Its forgot all my music sync options and my photo sync options as well.I can of course, rebuild it from iTunes, but yet again (i had this same issue when i upgraded from my iPhone 4 to the 5) i am going to have spend the next hour or so regrouping all my apps and putting them back on the correct pages (yes, i have mild OCD) For the future, what am i doing wrong please? Why does it not remember my installed apps and their layout please? Thanks in advance.

I didn't want iOS 6.1 iPhone 4S

My iPhone 4S stopped connecting to wifi about 3 weeks ago.  I set up an appointment at an Apple Store.  In trying to find out what the problem was, the Apple tech offered to check the firmware for the antenna.  No luck on the wifi.  So, I headed back to the office to run a restore and get back to work. Wait a minute!  After restoring, I realize my phone has 6.1 on it.  There's a difference between "checking firmware" and "installing a softare update" - or so I thought.   Now that my phone has 6.1, I can no longer get any of my corporate email.  IT only supports up to 6.0.1 at the moment.  And as an added bonus, my battery is now draining like crazy!  I do not need this and I certainly wasn't asked about installing 6.1 on my phone! No wifi, no email, gimpy battery.  Now what do I do?

iOS6 Upgrade-Text Messages Missing-Never Transferred Over iPhone 4S

My Query : Last night I upgraded my 3GS phone from iOS3 to iOS6 software. At first it took a few attempts after an error 1402 code but I switched USB ports and it all went through fine with the software extraction, software upgrade, firmware etc. Everything transferred over to my phone (Contacts/Calendars/Voice Memos/Notes/Bookmarks etc.), however none of my Text Messages transferred over - I have 1000's of them and want to keep them. The good news is that I have a Backup in the Mobile Synch folder and also copied over to my external hard drive for safe keeping in case of corruption or overwrite. What would anyone advise me to do to get my old text messages on to my phone? I have the Wondershare Dr.Fone software which works great and I can still see my text messages from the backup through that software but I really want to have them on my phone. I was reading somewhere that there is a known bug that's only affecting some handsets that upgrade to iOS6 - is anyone aware of this and potential solutions perhaps? Any help that anyone can provide would be so much appreciated. I'm wondering is there any other software that may be of use  here? Thanks a million  Brendan

iPhone can't restore error-1 at last second with iPhone 4 GSM

Hi all. I've already tried asking this elsewhere, but haven't really had much luck with help other than "it has to be a hardware issue". So, here goes. Note: it is far out of the warranty date, plus it's physically damaged.  I have an iPhone 4 (16, I think) that was working aside from cracks in the screen. I saw it working a few months ago and it was given to me (it hasn't been used since). When I turned it on, it showed the iTunes and usb cable (indicating it needed restoring) so I tried restoring it (invalid build error I think). I kept trying again and again but got the 16xx error a few times. I have tried two different computers, different OSs, (one that didn't even ever have itunes installed) and I keep getting the same -1 error at the very very end of the restore. Early on, I was able to get it to boot and get to a passcode screen but then it said the iPhone needs to be restored after I unlocked it.  It's almost like it's restoring fine and then suddenly it doesn't verify at the end with apple's servers or something. My apartment's wifi goes through an isp with security of some sort, I'm sure. Could that be an issue? I feel like it almost restores it but then it fails right at the end. Here is one of the logs--this one is the latest -1 error. It is abridged since most of it wouldn't fit. I don't know how to attach the full log. iphone 3g-iBooks won t install

I purchased a gently used iphone 3g in 2011.  I accidentially sync'd phone when i changed my account to a new one. The new one had no apps or extras.  I associated my old account with my new one; and was able to see my previous purchases and apps etc.... Re-sync'd iPhone 3g to my iPhone account and the old apps did not install.  Apple won't talk to me unless i purchase a tech-time session but this is not an option for me at this time or near future.  Can some of the  Apple Community help me with this to get my old apps back to my old phone with my old OS.Version ?  Info:- phone locked to Rogers- 8g model 3g- Version 4.2.1 (8C148)- Modern firmware 05.15.04 I don't know much about getting into the 'guts' of systems and doing work-arounds...please be simple in your answers like 1,2,3, or a, b, c thanks to all who offer up their wisdom.....   muchly appreciated.  send_email_t0:  cachemeout63@gmail.com
