My iPhone 5 is less than a year old, it is still covered by the regular warranty, i do not have apple care. I dropped my phone from a height of about 3-4 ft, and the screen loss all sensitivity. The screen itself is intact, however on the inside of the prhone some vertical lines are now visible. I have been told something called the digitizer is busted. Will apple replace this phone for me, or fix it? I am aware that more than likely i would have to pay for this service, but i was wondering how much, if they would be willing to do anything at all. thanks
So I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 literally yesterday. Strange lil bugs I get, but... This is just freaking me out. The phone had NO charge whatsoever when I opened it yesterday and tried to turn it on. Usually I get an iPhone and its at almost full charge. Then the Brightness was already dimmed to almost nothing rather than being in the middle. I adjust the slider to light it up more and then hit the switch for Auto-adjust Brightness... Nothing changed. At all. There's no brightness difference whether I have Auto-adjust set to On or Off, and it's kinda hurting my eyes. Pleeeease tell me I didn't get sold a Refurbished iPhone 5 as a New one at the Apple Store?!
Does anyone have audio fail problem on their iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4)? This happeded twice on my iPhone. First time was when I was using my phone as usual and it just suddently truned into mute by itself. The other one was when the alarm was ringing but no sound just vibration. I'm sure that I did not turn into silent mode. Except the sound, it still functions well. System just poped up a message asking me to reboot my device. It recovered after restart, but I still want to know how to deal with this problem.
4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay). Battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again. What could be broken?
Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity of iPhone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.
Hello apple support community. My i phone 5 that I recently bought last Sunday (May 5th) has some major issues. The battery life is TERRIBLE!! I have tried to lower brightness, turn off lte, turn off vibration, etc... But nothing is working!!! I exchanged the iphone for another black 32 gig, but event this one is pretty bad. I got 5hrs 20mins of usage, and 7hrs 16mins on standby. This is my second charge on this new phone. I drained it down to 0% when I first got it and then an overnight charge for 8hrs all the way up to 100%. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! All answers would be greatly appreciated!- Biggie_LP
we bought it from the same store at the same time. it becomes to annoying. sillent mode is for keeping it silent but vibration of the phone is like super loud ringtone.
Tried everything people have told me.. Will apple replace this? I took my phone in a few nights ago becasuse the screen was broken. They fixed it but vibration stopped working.. Tried Hard Reset and Settings and sound.. Turned Virbation on and still nothing Please help!
It's been messing up for 3 weeks now, and I'm getting real ******. I cannot adjust my wifi settings to on. It's stuck on the off (greyed out) position.
After the IOS update today, my mail icon will not open and the screen seems to have lost sensitivity. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I know of an app called boom on macbook pro, but is there something, whether it be hardware or software, that will allow me to adjust the levels on my iphone for everything that produces sound? so if I watch a youtube video and want it equalized, it will be adjusted to my preset levels, or if I want to listen to pandora, it will automatically be adjusted to my preset levels? Thank you everyone.
I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s. It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen. Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago. I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone. It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off. Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps. I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered. This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging. I took it to the Apple store. They tried to do the same restore I had. The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo. The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off. The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me. The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to adjust the volume (Software Adjustment)? I have it all the way turned up and I have a hard time hearing my call. Any thoughts on how to correct my issue? I have turned on the TTY feature, wasn't sure if this would do anything to help. ThanksCraig
Sometimes when making calls with my iphone 5, the person answering would complain that they can barely hear me, although I can always hear them clearly. It does not help to manually try and adjust the volume. Doesn't happen when connected to my b/tooth car kit.
Hello, I have completed my 2-year contract agreement with AT&T and received the instructions for unlocking my iPhone 4. My question: My iPhone is synced. Now I should do a full backup and restore of the iPhone via iTunes, but will this (1) keep all my current apps and (2) affect my current settings, specifically will I need to re-adjust all my individual notifications (alert style, badge app icon, sounds, view in lock screen)? This would be a tremendous chore for me as I currently have 176 applications on my mobile. I appreciate your help with the answer to this. Thank you Regards, Chuck
I recently bought a 5 and I realized that only when the phone is locked, I cannot adjust the volume. I attempted to reset it, but didn't work. Can anyone help?
So I cracked my iPhone 4S screen and I bought a new screen from amazon and I put it all together. When I turned on the iPhone it showed all black with nothing but I felt the vibration when it turned on and when I switched from sound to vibrate it also vibrated. I opened the iPhone and checked all the cables and it turned out I had a loose cable. I plugged it back on. Then, I had a grey flickering screen and I couldn't use any buttons like volume or home buttons and I couldn't see a slide to unlock or the time it was plain grey and flickering... Can someone help me with my flickering grey screen issue? Would help out a lot, thank you!
My iPhone 4S went black, I tried to do a reset, held home and power button, but did not work. I plugged it in, and still nothing except it continues to vibrate every 3 seconds. I tried a reset while plugged in and nothing, screen stays black and it just vibrates. As soon as I unplug it the vibration stops. I figure I'll go into Verizon tomorrow, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Okay guys, Here is my issue with some backstory; Bought a black 64gb iPhone 5 new as soon as they first came out.No issue. I upgrade my iOS as soon as updates come out, and this issue has been present since I upgraded to iOS 6.1.And has not been fixed since then. I sent a feedback form to apple before 6.1.2 was released, now even at 6.1.3 the issue has not been fixed. It's difficult to describe, and very hard to find anyone else with the same issue online, as the keywords used are similar to many other issues. Basically, when my phone is locked and the screen is off, I press a button, no response, this can be any button, even trying to power down the unit, but nothing happens. I can plug in the charger, no sound, no vibration, but 30-60 seconds later, the screen will come on, the phone will vibrate, and it will make a sound. Everything is back to normal. I've tried restoring, but it doesn't fix the problem, I would think it's a software issue as it only became an issue after I upgraded to iOS 6.1. This isn't an isolated incident as my girlfriend who I also set up with a black 16gb iPhone 5 is also having the exact same issue. There doesn't appear to be any sort of trigger that causes it, it can happen once a day, or once every few days, or 10 times in 2 hours! It's not a huge issue I know, but it has led to missing calls, and even missing bids on eBay etc. I'm just here to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue, and to see if there's a proper way to describe this... freezing? unresponiveness? And perhaps this might help other people with the same issue if we find a way to resolve it. Thanks for reading!
Hi! I bought iPhone 5 last week and found this: In the area of the camera on the back when tapped / on incoming call vibration / at the time when I put on the table, I hear a clearly sound, as if some kind of spring or something in the upper part of the phone is tinkling. What is that and is it normal?????
HelloSince last week my camera can't focus correctly for some reason. It's always stuck on the bottom part (and on the side in landscape mode). When I tap other parts of the screen it seems to adjust but just goes back to focusing the bottom. I tried a long tap that stops the autofocus-doesn't work.Running iOS 6.1 on 4S.Any suggestions for a solution? Thank you!
Hello...I hope someone out there can help. I am very un-technical, and I'm afraid to ask my husband, who isn't, for help until I have exhausted other possibilities. I was browsing the internet on my new iphone5 when it slipped headfirst into the lukewarm, half-empty cup of black tea on my lap. So it was partially submerged in tea for about 1 second. I yanked it out, dried it off, shook it out, then not knowing what else to do at 4 AM, grabbed the hair dryer and very gently and very briefly blew air towards the top openings (speaker and pone jack). The phone had worked for a few seconds after I retrieved it, but I didn't know to be sure it was turned off...i just assumed (I know, I know) it was turned off since the screen was totally black. About ten minutes later, when my previously out-of-battery ipad was charged enough for me to look up "wet iPhone" I put the phone into a bag of rice and kept searching for help online. About 30 mins later I had the SIM card removed and put the phone back into the rice. Left it in rice for 1 full day, then when when I could finally get to a store, I put it in between two "damp-rid" type packets inside a lunchbox on top of my water heater where it is warm. I left it alone for four or five days, then tried turning it on. nothing. Then I put the sim card in, and felt the little vibration of a phone powering on!! Screen was almost completely dark, so I returned it to the damp rid coffin it into the damp rid container for Another few days. Ans so, the exciting conclusion: Just now, I connected it to iTunes and could see very faintly enough to use the touchscreen. Reinstalled everything, and made a call to my husband so he won't wonder why I haven't called him from my iPhone for ten days. Everything else seems to work but I want to know if I can fix the screen in any way. There are no apple stores in Germany yet and I don't want to buy a replacement phone. Techie: Can and/orShould I take it apart and look for corrosion? i have read some DIY tips for older phones on other forums but not for iphone 5. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Over the past couple of days, my phone (iphone 4) has been random vibrating and/or making various sounds. When this happens, there are no notifications. It will just sound or buzz for what seems to be no reason. Most of the time, my applications are not on. I have push on for my mail application, but that's it. The phone is in good condition, it's never been dropped or damaged in any way. Anybody else experiencing something similar to this?
I have recently purchased a new Lexus GS250 car which requires a phone that will connect to the internet using (DUN) dial up networking.Im lead to beleive that the Iphone has never had this technology as it is quite old. Im also lead to beleive that a Blackberry will connect tothis technology. My phone is an Iphone 5 can apple adjust the software to enable this function or not.
I am trying to use a safe web browser on my iPhone without having access to unsafe browsers.I have disarmed safari and installed mcgruff (safe browser). The problem I am having is with blocking other apps from being downloaded. I understand the option exists to limit app access to an age level i.e. 4yrs. 7 yrs. 12 yrs. 17 yrs., however, no matter which way i set this I can always install the 'google' app? I would have thought browsers like google would fall into a category of apps people are trying to restrict. Why bother offering the function in the first place??I also realise there is the option to block all apps, however this leaves you with no browser at all... This will be the last resort I guess?
I have been back to bluewater about my phone 5times due to faults. I had sim stuck in my 1st replacement then I had no silent mode on the 2nd and the 3rd phone I was dropping calls and the home button sticking. This still happens. I then went back after Xmas with the same fault and was told there is no fault and this was just software issues. I then asked how long my warranty was left and that I was not happy with this and they said not long about 2weeks I think this is now up. But I have had problems from day 1. I was told by a manager that the iPhone 4 was rubbish and now old and can't cope with the work load, I stated that the phone was less than 2months old and I had no problems with the original until I dropped it and smashed the screen. I have also since had a problem with the camera not working correctly. And now I have noticed that the sound does not work on text tone. And the vibration also doesn't work. So I am getting txt then not realising. I have to travel 30miles there and back every time I take my phone into the shop to get told this is software, I think this is an excuse to not sort the problem. I need to bring this phone back because of sound. If you could please get back to me on this it would be great. Lloyd
This is a minor issue that'll probably end up in the hands of some apple tech, but I'm curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this. After updating my phone to 6.1.1, I noticed that occasionally I did not hear anything when playing music through earphones. An attmept to adjust the volume simply displayed the "ringer" icon and no volume meter. When I launch a new song from stopped (not paused), there was no sound or any ability to control it. I unplugged the earphones; the play icon remained, it normally disappears indicating a pause. Plugged back in and music started coming through. Text/Ring tones are still audible; good because I use it as an alarm clock. The phone is behaving as though it were "docked" though the music playback thing is just weird. I haven't tried playing music while it is actually docked yet. Will try a restore tonight after work.
I woke up this morning via my alarm settings on my iPhone 5. Came back to the phone about 45 minutes later and noticed there was no sound for the lockpad, calls, alarms, notifications, ringtones, music, other apps, etc. I followed some of the of the steps I've found through through the community: - Confirmed silent button wasn't turned on- Confirmed both ringtone/sound volumes were turned up- Turned off bluetooth- Forced Reboot- Regular Shutdown/Restart- Reset All Settings (Without Content)- Disable/Enable Change with Buttons- Disabled/Enabled Vibrate on Ring/Silent When attempting to change a ringtone with "vibrate on ring" and silent button turned off the vibrate kicks in however no tone. I've seen this in the past with my 4S and it only took a forced reboot to clear it. Anyone else experiencing this issue as of 2013? I heavily rely on sounds for alarms, notifications, etc (as I'm sure everyone else does) so any word of advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
My volumes been randomly turning on and off. The vibrate button isn't turned on either, it only says 'ringer' but with no volume bars when I try to adjust the volume. It'll come back on randomly again. Does anyone know what may be wrong with it??
hi everyone i recently installed ios 6.1 on my iphone 4 and now my phone does not vibrate at all.. alarms, phone calls, messages, and even switching to silent doesnt vibrate. ive checked my settings and vibrate is enabled. if i go into vibrate settings for a call and try to change the vibration pattern no vibration occurs even then.does anyone have some suggestions for this issue?

Hi, I recently bought a iPhone 4. The WIFI sensitivity of my iPhone seems to be very low. In my office, my phone is not able to catch the wifi signal. But at the very same place, another iPhone 4 and iPAD catach the wifi signals. I mean not that my phone does not catch any wifi. When you are near to hotspot or router, its fine. I wonder what could be the issue for the same. Can this be an hardware issue? At this point of time, I am trying to restore the iPhone OS thru iTunes. I am using iOS 6.0.1 ThanksRegards,Tilwalli
IPhone 4, 6.01. notification sounds are no longer activated for phone, msgs atal. sounds are working though and selected forall. vibration is activated though. did a complete reset but did not fix it. is it possible to reinstall 6.0.1? seems it can't be done on the new ITunes format
When on the phone there is a vibration coming through my earpiece and person on the other end says it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Only last for a second or two then quits for a few minutes then starts again
When I link my iPhone5 with my car's phone system (using Bluetooth), there are no sound notifications for incoming SMS, calendar alarms, or any other reminders. Because I have my phone set for sound and vibration, it still vibrates. I am using it in a 2011 BMW. I did not have this problem when I had my iPhone 3G. Any suggestions?
Is anyone having touch sensitivity issues witht the Iphone 5? i am hving issues with slow or no response to screen touch. We have 3 in our family and all have the same type issues. My Iphone 4 worked flawlessly as far as touch sensitivity,
I have an iphone 4s. The sound works perfect on calls but there are no lock sounds, keyboard sounds, and no notification sounds. I can't play music or watch videos. Every now and then I get an unlock sound but hardly ever. What can I do to fix this?
I purchased a 32gb iPhone 5 - Black+Slate, Verizon from the Apple Store last Sunday. I am running iOS 6.0.1. Since then, it has been vibrating in my pocket without any apparent cause. This occassionally happens when I apply pressure to the upper left corner of the phone, and it has also happened while I have had the phone unlocked as well, displaying the silent mode symbol and vibrating. I'm beginning to suspect that this is a hardware defect with either the vibrating motor or the silent switch, and want to know if anybody can confirm that this is a known defect or issue. I am concerned that if I don't address it, I won't be eligible for a replacement phone. This issue does not concern my ability to determine if the phone is set to silent mode or not, nor my vibrate settings. This is a vibration that occurs randomly, and transiently. I have also tried a hard reset, switching from silent to normal mode, and restoring the phone. Should I just have it replaced?
For some unknown reason my phone screen has zoomed out and will not reduce back down. I can't log on to adjust any setting including the accessibility font setting which may be causing the issue.
I have problem now 5 days ago i dont have at all audio. is like silent and only vibration..Serial number: C38H4Y0XDTC0THANK YOU REGARDSSimos
My iPhone 4S will not play sound either through the speakers or the headset. I have tried the obvious solutions no volume control will even show when I attempt to adjust it and the volume bar has now disappeared from the music application. Can anyone advise on a fix for this issue? Is it something I can fix or would I be better off getting a repair?
I just recently upgraded from 5.0.1 to ios 6.0.1. I can recieve pictures but when i click to enlarge it wont open the file.Is it the ios itself or do i have to adjust my settings.Iphone 4 on verizon
Has Anyone else experience a glitch in the iPhone 5 when the vibration will glitch out and just randomly vibrate on its own? I hope it's not just my iPhone.
I watch streaming video via safari on my imac. Is it possble to stop and start play/adjust volume via my iphone remotely?
Hey guy I found a solution for you.I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 and I tried right below solution, check it out. First of all, I tried all the solutions for the iPhone written other websites but It didn't work properly. Weak vibration. I even changed the vibrator with new one, but it didn't work. I tried my old vibrator with the other iPhone of my wife, it works in there perfectly. I think something wrong with the connection area of the vibrator. Problem is the phone. Then I decided to solve it by myself. I open back cover of iPhone and first removed battery then the vibrator. And check if there is anything stocking the vibrator head then try to remove the ringer button from inside, clean around, and put everything back like vibrator and the battery. Finally you good to go. vibration working like new one. All of this try worked for me. I hope it works for you too. Give it a try and feedback. Thanks, good luck.
I dropped my iphone 4 from a high place to a rough surface, and the upper left corner of the metal casing (which is the corner of the headphone jack) is bent. The headphone jack is bent too, and the upper little ring of the jack popped out. The headphone is hardly fitting in, and when I'm talking to someone using headphones, they say it's very noisy and hardly understand me. Also the vibration stopped working for a day. When I realized it's not working, I shaked the phone to see if it is just a loose connection and it worked again but the vibration is too weak, I can hardly feel it. Maybe the motor is stuck inside the bent metal. I can say that it is not possible to repair it, because all the middle metal casing, vibration motor and headphone jack needs to be changed. So the phone needs to be replaced. The question is, should I take it to the apple store? This is an accidental damage but is there any chance that they'll replace it? Do the geniuses do these kind of stuff? Do you think apple will cover this damage? Or should I just forget about it and repair it myself? Thank you for your answers.
Whenever i get a text message, my phone vibrates. After the vibration theres also this faint rattling noise that i hear. Like something loose inside my phone. You also hear it when you tap on the back or you place it down. Its annoying and makes the phone feel cheap. I did have the same problem with the iphone 4 but that turned out to be camera autofocus? But this is an iphone 5. Plus, i'm also hearing stories of how the rattling is a loose battery? I'm confused and don't know what's up with the iphone 5's. Rattling is annoying and just makes my apple product feel so cheap.
Hello,I've updated version of the deviceAnd since I do not have a ringing sound and you can not increase the Huolim and buttons on the vibration does not work only works on your device.Wants your helpLior

How do I adjust my Privacy settings to that Instagram can see both my Camera Roll (can see) and my Photo Library (can't see after latest Instagram update)? Settings > Privacy lists Twitter and Facebook but not Instagram. I suspect I need to add them back here but can't determine how that works. Thanks. TJK
