bottom part not responding store too far away iPhone

My iphone for no reason is not responding to anything on the bottom part of my screen. The unlock slider works but nothing on that bottom row responds to anything. I tried resetting it and formatted it but to no avail.I know i should go to an apple store but they are all at least 2 hours away from me. Is there a way I can mail it in or go somewhere else? EAS Device Lock Password incorrect message iPhone

On my 3g iPhone, connected to Exchange Server, EAS forced me to use a device lock password after a 15 minute timeout. Twice in the past couple of weeks, the device will get into a mode where it will not unlock, even after entering the correct password. iPhone will not detect my fingers.

Hi.Yesterday, my iphone was working perfectly fine. I charged it over night on my desk and this morning, when I tried to unlock my iphone, it would not detect my fingers. I was not able to use the slider at all. So, I tried to turn it off and nothing works at all. It is still on the same page of turning it off. I have never dropped it and i only recently got it. Take iPhone with me when I move to another country

Hi everybody!I want to buy an iPhone here in Brazil (I get a good deal from the phone company), but Ill only stay here for about 6 months. Im moving to another country because of work (probably USA).Im not worried about contracts or anything like that, I just wanted to know if the iPhone will work normally there. My iPhones just not working.

So, last night I left my phone on the charger and when I woke up this morning to check the time my lock screen showed up but it wouldnt let me unlock my phone. I unplugged it from the charger and tried again and this time my screen stays black. I plugged it into the charger again, still nothing, then I plug it into my computer and nothing still, though it did sync my iPhone.. I thought it was a strange that it would still sync my phone so I called it (from my house phone) and it didnt go straight to voice mail like it would do if it was off. My iPhone on the other hand did nothing..Getting frustrated at this point I just flat out restored the original settings, and now it seems to be working again.. What Im really wondering is what the heck I did to make it do this in the first place, so it doesnt happen again. :/ Ive only had the phone for about a month now. (Dunno if thatll help but whatever.)

iPhone touch screen not responding

Okay, so I dropped my iPhone 3g from my pocket, and ever since then the lower half of my screen hasnt been responding. The picture is there, but when I touch it nothing happens.So I cant unlock it because the slide to unlock button is in the non-working section, plus Ive got a pass lock on it, and I cant press the numbers.Ive reset it to factory settings, but its still not working.Is there anything I can do without sending it in for a repair? WiFi top icon not appearing when when Wifi setting on iPhone 3g

I use Wifi quite a bit, even though I do have a good plan. At least a couple of times now, knowingly being surrounded by numerous signals (my fathers apartment building),public and private protected and non protected signals, my Wifi icon signal, refuses to appear, my Wifi setting of course being set to ON. I try a soft reset or a couple of them at least, with no change. The lack of visual Wifi icon or signal, is also met by inability to use Wifi. Of course, I do know the proper connection process involved in Wifi, but point is Wifi is not there, and indicates on my Wifi app locator also, that I should turn my Wifi on.I also try doing a fresh Search for carrier reset, turn On and OFf my Airplaine mode, and virtually try everything to at least show that I have connection, to no avail..I eventually try it out at other locations, and sometimes get a flicker of hope when I see the icon momentarily, and then disappear. Eventually, I make it back home, where now I see Full bars on my Wifi immediately when I Slide to unlock. Does this sound like it is a hardware problem that could degrade , leading to No Wifi down the road? Can the Apple store, when they do their hardware check (I have seen them run a test on iPhones on their laptops) see if there is a defective Wifi chip? I suppose, once I go there, it will be for naught, because that will be the day it is working, and hard to prove that it wasnt working. With all the aftermarket dual sim, and unlock piggyback sim cards out there, why is it that Apple & AT&T dont get together and create one sim card that is AT&T only that will unlock the phone only with the sim in and allow two AT&T phone numbers on that same sim??? Phone sometimes gets stuck on Apple logo when restarting iPhone 3g

I was just using one of my apps (a todo list that id purchased from the appstore) and it would crash (stop) on an option I use all the time.. ive seen it do this before (i assume that the app sometimes runs out of memory because its not being released or something to that effect).. anyway, I am fine with having to restart my phone (rarely) to solve this..however, just now, i went to restart my phone and it would not let me type in my password to unlock my phone.. so i turned it off.. and turned it back on.. and it got stuck for minutes (never changed) on the apple logo....so, i pressed the off button and menu button and cold stopped it or whatever.. and restarted it.. and same thing.. stuck on the apple button...finally, i just plugged the danged thing into my laptop and it started up and started synching..anyone had this problem???? thoughts on a solution other than restoring my phone and then recovering from a backup???grrrrrrrrrrr... Hi All,Am moving to the US in Aug 09 and was wanting to purchase an Iphone, however I can see throught the forums that this will mean I am locked to AT&T for at least 2 years and even after that I may not be able to get them to unlock the phone when I return to Aus. What is my best option the guy in the in the Apple store suggested I buy a phone upright here and then I have to spend $130 to get it unlocked by apple. Then I have to find a carrier in the States that has Sim Cards - is this possible? Im trying to update my iPhone to work in Germany, but the software I got wont work. When I hit restore and select the newer firmware, I get a message saying the restore could not be completed. vibration problem iPhone 3g

I have a 16gb white iPhone 3g that I got about a week ago. Today when I switched on the vibration, it made a noise that was louder than normal and it hardly vibrated at all. The sound is scratchy and sounds like something is rubbing. Ive read some other stories like mine and when I try holding the phone facing any direction, including upside down, it still makes the same noise. Should I bring my iPhone to an ATT store or contact apple directly? There is no Apple store in the area where I live.Also, Ive been having a problem with the phone going to my recent or favorite phone contacts sometimes when after sliding to unlock-which was not the last item I had open. Other times Ill be using an app and seemingly randomly it opens featured apps in the app store. Loss of signal at 20 Battery iPhone 3g

Hello all,I have a very unique problem with my 3g iPhone. I actually thought all iPhones did this until it really became an annoyance and I started asking around about it, and it seems to only be affecting me. Anyway, anytime my battery nears 20 %, and anything below, I loose the signal on my phone until I touch it again. For example...My battery will hit the 20 % mark, Ill get the warning message. Ill send somebody a text message, 45 minutes will go by and I wont get a reply. Ill pick up my phone to see if the message sent. I unlock the phone, and it freezes for just an instant. Then, the signal, that was once showing full, drops to nothing (no edge, wifi, bars, nothing) then fills back up in a few seconds and I will receive a voicemail, 3 text messages and emails. Ill set the phone down again, and it continues to happen every time the phone goes idle for more than like 10 or 15 minutes, ONLY when the battery is below 20 % and once the phone is charged, it stops until it drops again. I had the original iPhone since launch, and I bought the 3g the day it came out, so I know Im not doing something wrong.i send it for service to greek vodafone and they dont see the problem.I need a replacement , right?

iPhone tells me restore needed but wont connect to itunes

Hi guys,Had my phone about a month a so and is running on the latest OS.Last night, for no apparent reason, my phone flashed up a message saying i needed to connect to itunes and could only make emergency calls. So i hooked it up to itunes today and i get the message saying a restore is needed.But then itunes, cant connect to it and saysitunes cannot activate your iphone because the SIM card is not inserted or a SIM Pin is required.Disconnect your iphone, make sure the SIM card is inserted correctly and, if ou use a SIM Pin, tap unlock to enter it, and then reconnect your iphoneThe sim is in fine, and i have never used a Pin lock. Moved to Mexico. how I unlock iPhone

iPhone like sleeping beauty

Hello fellow iPhone users and apple addicts.First things first: As you might have noticed right from the beginning, Im no native english speaker.Im from germany so please be patient with me Lets dive right into my problem:I love my iPhone but since, lets say 2-3 months its behavior is really strange:In 1 of 3 cases (33%) it wouldnt wake up after I put it in sleep mode (what kinda language am I posting in? sorry for that sentence).So I press the Lock-Button and it goes into sleep mode. Very often (independently if it plays music/podcasts) it isnt reacting when i press either lock or home button.When music is playing it is playing without any problems in sleep mode though I cant wake it up!The only posibilities I have is either to sleep-home-button it (restart) or to call my phone.If I call it, its like it does every commands i did before in 1 action.So for example if I pressed before home and sleep button several times (lets say 3) and I call myself it is blinking white, doing screenshots and having them stored in camera roll.Or when Im switching the mute-button and then call it, it shows this bell-icon.And every of these actions at the same time.And the other weird thing: When I call myself, the iPhone mostly dont even take the call. The caller gets my mailbox right away and I just get my unlock-slider. Just in a few cases I can answer the call.When I dont answer the call (if I get the ability to do so), the iPhone is after that still unawake-able.But if I unlock it after calling me, it is fully reliable, no problems while using it (while its awake, sure).I restored it via iTunes several times till now (i guess at least 5).I have no jailbreak and Ive never jailbroken my phone.And as I called Apple Germany because of that Problem i got a completely new iPhone!I usually have 500mb to 1,5gb free space but I even tried with more, no improvement.Its horrible, you are afraid all the time if the iPhone wakes up or if its not!And it is not reliable at all. iPhone Passcode not incorrect but phone says it 3g

I recently added a Microsoft Exchange account to my iPhone and it asked me to create a new passcode using 5 digits. About a day of it working OK, I tried to unlock my phone and it told me my password was incorrect. A few attempts later, my phone was locked and disabled. Using my laptop, I had to reset/restore my phone. Bizarrely enough, when it asked for my passcode again, I entered the same one and it worked fine!But only for two days. About a half hour ago, Ive started to encounter the same problem yet again. I use the same passcode for EVERYTHING I own, so I am NOT forgetting the password or entering it incorrectly. Also, its highly unlikely that my passcode was correct an hour ago and suddenly its incorrect.Can anyone help? iPhone 3g

Strange iPhone 3g behavior

Whenever I call my wife on her iPhone 3g in certain possibly spotty areas, she doesnt hear the ringtone (although the vibrate button is off), and only vibrates. When she tried to unlock the phone to answer, the screen freezes and she has to reboot the phone. Its hard to reproduce repeatedly, but usually only happens when were in New Jersey. Sometimes whenever she answers, all I hear is a loud computer noise like static. I have to call back a few times and then I can hear her. Im using the same phone with a shared data voice and data plan. I tried reinstalling her iPhone OS recently through iTunes. Can anyone help? Call shut off iPhone 3g

Recently when i am on a phone call I will pull the phone away from my ear to look at something on the screen, however, the screen never comes back on and remains blank. the only way to get it back on is press the home button which ends the call most of the time since i have to unlock the phone again. Iphone wont ring in sleep mode.

A couple of weeks ago, I traded out my original 4GB iPhone for a refurb with a mic that worked but the new iphone has been problematic. I first noticed some problems when the time was incorrect even though I had set it to my location and put it on automatic. I miss calls all the time because the phone doesnt ring. I pick it up and unlock it just to see I have missed three calls and the time missed is the exact time I unlocked the phone. And there are no voice mails, so I reset the phone and once reset the time fixes itself and the I have VoiceMails from those missed calls. I end up resetting the phone several times a day. I call my phone and it seems to ring fine when it isnt asleep. This phone has the latest OS. It has to be a sleep problem MacPro Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Iphone 3g what bummer

So I bought my original iphone from the states while I lived there. Then upgraded to the iphone 3g and loved it. Now I have moved to Canada and I cant switch it over to the exclusive carrier here, Rogers. I cant believe that after talking to Apple, Att, and even Rogers, they are all telling me I have to buy a new phone for Canada. Something about having to unlock it for use with the Rogers here. ATT and Apple dont allow unlocks for now.Does anyone know when they will allow people to switch exclusive carriers in other countries?In the meantime I guess I am out of couple hundred bucks and an Iphone that does not work. iPhone screen just bunch of colored lines 3g

So, I just bought my iPhone 3g back in November. I do have an extended warranty on it. There arent any scratches on the phone besides little unnoticable ones, there isnt any water damage, nor have I tampered with or jailbroken my iPhone. Last night my phone fell off of my bed less than two feet in the air and the screen is now just a bunch of colored lines. The phone will still sync to the computer and the phone will still unlock. It really doesnt look like any damage has been done besides the picture not showing up. how likely do you think that it will be replaced? I know that accidental damage isnt a part of the warranty, but, as Ive said, the screen isnt even scratched up. I do not plan on lying to them and I am going on my 22nd birthday and am driving an hour away. I suppose that it just depends on the technician, but I just wanted to see what yall had to say.Thank you in advance! iMac

Restore from iTunes. www.apple.com/supportUnfortanately I am on the road traveling and dont have access to the PC used to sync with iTunes, which is at home.In an attempt to resolve the inability to receive or place calls I downloaded and installed iTunes on my work laptop in an effort to get the phone working again, to no avail. The iTunes application displays the message: iTunes cannot activate your iPhone because the SIM card is not inserted or a SIM PIN is required. Disconnect your iPhone, make sure the SIM card is inserted correctly and, if you use a SIM PIN, tap unlock to enter it, and then reconnect your iPhone.I dont use a SIM PIN that Im aware of, even if I did there is no way of tapping unlock to enter it because the phone only displays the keypad with a strolling text in different languages that reads Emergency Call.Until today I have been very happy with the phone but I cant believe Im away from the office and home without a cell. Any advise is greatly appreciated, Im on the road without an Apple store in the immediate area. The closest store is 3 hours away. I think it would be a good idea to have the ability to password protect access to SMS, photos, and contacts. I had this ability on my old cell phone and it was so useful. I know there is an overall lock code, but the problem with just one code is that sometimes I let my friends and family mess with my iphone, like the apps and stuff so I unlock it for them, and I usually dont like them reading my messages or calling people without me there, so the ability to password protect the SMS/MMS, photos, and contacts I think would be a good ideaWhat do you guys think?? Long phone call backlight problem. iPhone

Well sometimes i have long phone calls to deal with, say for around 3-4 hours. When i want to end the phone call i obviously move the phone away from my ear and press the End Call button.Problem is, that the backlight doesnt come on. I dont know why this is, its happened a few times and ive had to press the unlock and home button together for it to restart itself or whatever, but having to do it everytime is really annoying!Anyone got any suggestions? Recently, however, I have received neither sound nor vibration alert about new text messages. When I click the top power button, I see that the icons at the top of the screen have turned grey, and once I slide to unlock there is a notification box. However, with the loss of sound or vibration, it has become a hassle since I have to periodically check my phone for messages (causing more problems if its urgent).Vibration works for everything else, including phone calls. Whats eerie is that when I receive a text while on the New Message screen for sending text messages, it DOES vibrate. Does anyone have any idea what may be a solution to the problem? iPhone 3g disabled

Please help, one of my company iPhones is showing iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes.When I connect to iTunes message is iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked witha passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.This happened when a staff member left and has dissappeared without telling us the passcode. Small keypad bug iPhone 3g

It is probably already known that when you receive a call while the screen is locked/turned off, and you answer the call and then hang up, the screen will lock/turn off automatically again. However, after that if I press the Home button and unlock the phone (slide button), it brings me directly to the numeric keypad you can call with. Anyone else has this? Is this a small bug or does it have a purpose that I dont understand (yet)? HP Windows XP 320 GB, Geforce 7900 GT, AMD X64 4600

S cardrestore emergency call error iPhone

Hi guysTonight I had a convo cut short as the iPhone battery needed to be recharged (I did get a %10 battery power left message.So, I get home, plug into iTunes and get a this:USB cable to iTunes in background, and message says:Restore NeededIphone cannot send or receive calls. Restore from iTunes.www.apple.com/supportGreat. I have no idea why this idiotic message comes up. So I connect to iTunes again, and the error message on iTunes says: iTunes cannot activate your iPhone because it cannot find my sim card or a SIM PIN is required.Disconnect your iPhone, make sure the SIM is inserted correctly, tap unlock BLAH BLAH..I have NO SIM PIN.I cannot restore as the guys at Apple.com/support suggest because the SIM Card cannot be found. iphone passcode locked pls help 3g

i use an iphone 2g... i changed my passcode number today and when i tried to unlock it for the forst time after changing it the phone said wrong passcode i re-entered it and the phone is now locked.. it extended the time from 5 to 10 to 15 mins.. and now its 1 hour... i tried another one of my old passcodes and now it says try again in a hour.. Im horrified.. is there a way i can reset or put the phone back to normal coz im at work and i cant take any calls... pls help me.. thnks Intel Windows XP

iPhone cant resore 3g

Hi all - I wonder if anyone could help with an iPhone I bought my wife for XmasShe started it up this morning and got the connect to iTunes cable screen.I tried restarting it a few times but still got the same message before a message saying that the Phone needed to be restored from iTunes.I connected it to her Mac, launched iTunes an got a message on iTunes saying that it was unable to connect because the phone was locked with the passcode and to please unlock the phone with the passcode.However, theres no way I can enter this passcode into the phone.
