I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. Unlocked Iphone Bricked

I know how to unbrick the phone by Restoring it but then I would have to wait for the new jailbreak and unlock to come out. The new update was iOS 4.2 I believe and my phone just got bricked because I was deleting things I didnt need and it froze. Its stuck at apple screen. Podcasts on iPhone 3G not showing up in iTunes ideas

So ive got about 2GB or so of podcasts on my iPhone 3G that I cant see in iTunes (not a single one), which means I cant delete them to make room for more music. Needless to say, frustrating...Any suggestions/solutions anyone may have are most appreciated!! iPhone says I have podcasts but I cant find them anywhere on phone 3G

So I just deleted all the music on my iPhone 3G so I could freshen it up with some new stuff. Ive deleted everything; yet on the Summary tab in iTunes, it shows that I have about one and a quarter GB of music. Finding iPhone data usage stats 3G

iPhone BrickedWill Not move past first apple logo screen 3G

Before I explain, please do not reply telling me to hold my home button and power button for 15 seconds because everyone knows that.About 3 hours ago, my iphone froze up and turned off by itself. Everytime I turn it on, it will stay at the apple logo then turn off. I am completely aware that I can easily fix this by doing a restore. The main problem is though, is that I have many important pictures, notes, and texts on my phone which I DO NOT want to lose by doing a Restore.My iPhone 3G is not jailbroken.I would simply like to be told a way to unbrick my iPhone 3G without restoring through iTunes. Im currently using an old Sony flip phone, and am very agitated at this point.I would really appreciate some help.Thank you.P.S. Voicemail Unavailable message-every call iPhone 3G

Whenever I finish speaking to someone on the phone, I go to end the call and the message Voicemail Unavailable keeps appearing on the screen.Im not sure when it appears during the call as no noises are made, but its always there when i go to hang up. 3.1 UpdateUnbrick using Windows XP iPhone 3G

Heres what I did to unbrick and update to 3.1 with Windows XP. Hope it helps.-Clicked Restore in the latest iTunes.-wait for screen to go black on the iPhone. I think this is DFU Mode-closed iTunes.-uninstalled (right click) the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in the device manager, under USB controllers-scan for hardware changes in the device manager under action and let it automatically reinstall the driver.-restarted iTunes-It finally found iPhone in recovery mode, updated to 3.1 and recovered my settings.Good luck,Trent Windows XP

iPhone 3G keeps turning itself off and on by itself-advice how to stop

Earlier today, I noticed that my iPhone 3G began cycling back and forth between the main menu and the screen that has the red slider button that you can push to turn the phone off. It is cycling back and forth on its own without any human touch whatsoever. It is going through the cycle every 30-45 seconds. If I turn the phone off using this screen, the phone turns itself back on. If I choose to ignore it, after about 30 or 45 seconds or so, it will go back to the main menu. I did a full restore and it is still doing the same thing. I have the settings for Auto Lock set to Never so I dont think its a problem with that setting. Does anyone have any other suggestions for how I might address this problem?? Unbricking Australia iPhone 3G. Cant i just it myself

I wanted to buy a phone outright from Telstra and they insist on unbricking it. I want to take it home wrapped. Anyway, Optus are happy to sell me the phone all wrapped an unbricked but they have no pre paid stock. Im wondering if Telstra have a good reason to not let the phoen go unbricked. Maybe they dont want me to screw it up? I heard that all you need to do to unbrick the phone is plug it into iTunes 7.7 and let it do its thing. Isnt this -ALL- the shop would be doing anyway?Is the store doing anything to the phone that I simply cant do myself?
