new iphone how to set up visual voice mail

Maybe it takes awhile, but when I tap voice mail, the phone dials my voice mail and logs in. It doesnt seem to do the visual voice mail part. I just got it today. Is there a lag time? I did get an activated message, however, so I know it is activated.I did try to reset network settings. My iphone 4G works perfectly

I just wanted to offset some of the complaints on this board so people who are nervous about the phone will know it is a good buy. I havent had any issues at all with my phone. No yellow screen, no reduced reception (i am using the black bumper) and no problems with the camera shutter or email operations. All my functions work perfectly, speakerphone is loud, headphones are clear, and the battery life is great. I guess my question would be am I the only person who has never had any problems with an iphone? Because this forum makes it seem like they are guaranteed to have issues when they usually dont. FaceTime activation problems in Cyprus iphone 4

I recently purchased two Sim-free iphone 4s from the UK and brought them to Cyprus.i was really eager to try FaceTime so after registering them and everything i tried activating Facetime. One of the phones which is with the carrier CYTA mobile Vodafone works fine and activates FaceTime immediate i had to switch it on and of once. The other phone with MTN wont activate it and i get a video_..... something but stays on waiting for activation. I tried swapping the Sim cards and the CYTA card activates on the other phone as well. For the past week I have dropped it, thrown it at a wall... And even thru my iphone out the window of a car while driving to prove that my case is a beast .... 3GS WIFI problem only at home iphone 3G

Hello everyone!Ive got the strangest problem with my iphone 3Gs when it comes to WIFI. I have a linksys WIFI router at home. Everything worked fine: Wireless internet on my PC (sorry, but thats about to change), my macbook pro and iphone 3Gs.One day, I couldnt get WIFI anymore on my iphone. It started before OS4 (Im now on OS4 and the problem remains).Thing is that my internet works fine on both PC and macbook! When I select the wifi network on my iphone and enter the password it always says: no connection possible with network.I re-installed everything and did the usual stuff as resetting wifi settings on my phone, even resettign my router.Now, the strangest part of all is that the wifi on my iphone works anywhere else!!! iOS4 restore not keep app folders iphone 4

Ive had to restore my iphone 4 twice now from a backup, and each time Ive had to spend over an hour recreating folders and reorganizing my apps back into the folders the way I last had them. I guess this is a feature request for backups to retain folder placement and contents, please! The data structures needed seem to exist already and are used by iTunes to remember the apps layout there. iphone 3g will not charge and buttons dont seem to work this normal

help please, i put in a new replacement battery in my iphone 3g 8gb. then i plug in the usb cable and for a few short seconds the battery shows with very little red power and also the lightning bolt below. then a few more seconds later the apple logo shows, and a few more seconds and the phone screen turns blank, no buttons do anything. is this normal? i once got it to the plug to itunes screen by holding the home and power button, just by luck. but besides that one time, the buttons are unresponsive, and i dont know if the **** thing is even charging the new battery at all. iphone 3g iOS 4

Hi All,I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.I have 2 x iphone 3Gs and a 160GB iPod classic.The iPod classic can sync with iTunes no problem.When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.I am using the same cable as my iPod and it starts charging the phone.My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photos.However iTunes does not recognise the phone.I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.Does anytone have any suggestions?I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck. URGANT iphone 4 stuck on recovery mode

I just got my iphone 3 days ago! (Saturday) I went over to my cousins house to add some songs. When I connected the USB cable to his computer and my iphone it went straight into recovery mode. I thought it was his computer so I went home to my computer and the same problem occurred! I searched everywhere to try to solve this issue. I even downloaded some stuff that supposily forces iDevices out of recovery mode but nothing worked. I also tried holding the 2 buttons and bam, nothing. Who Has Had Perfect iphone 4 Experience

My iphone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from Apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iphone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iphone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? Cant update iphone 3G Unable to connect with iTunes

Last night I set up my iphone 3G to upgrade to iOS4, when I wake up this morning it has the connect to iTunes screen. No problem I thought, can sort that out. Bug ipod on 3G. Christina aguilera back to basics iphone 3G

Hi I seem to have a bug on my ipod part of my 3g iphone. All my Christina Aquilera songs from her Back to Basics album displays the album artwork of a guy called Charles Hines, who also has a album of the same name!I have deleted and replaced my music from my ipod twice now and the same problem occurs!The strange thing is I dont have any Charles Hines songs on my itunes or ipod (never heard of him to be honest!) and when I play her songs his album cover comes up! iphone 4 all 3rd party apps including their data suddenly gone

There is a strange and very annoying bug in iOS 4 (4, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2); every once in while all third party apps including their data get deleted from the iphone. This happens WITHOUT any user interaction, apparently random and not during sync. The iphone just rests on the desk unused, then I pick it up again, unlock the screen and find out that all 3rd party apps are gone. The original Apple apps including their data are just fine. Very strange and very annoying. Did someone else suffer from this problem? Stuck in customer services returns iphone 4

After waiting for the 3 week delivery for my iphone from the apple online store (singapore) it arrived with a damaged pixel.Customer services told me to send it back in via DHL and they would send out a replacement within 2 to 3 working days.One week later and still no replacement.To make matters worse, every time i call support it takes them about 20 minutes to actually find my case and figure out what is going on before they can even try to assist me.The latest i have heard is that i now have to wait another three weeks for a new one to be delivered for me!!!If i had known this i would have held onto the damaged unit until they sent me a replacement.Is this normal returns policy?Now i am over in Singapore for work reasons. My previous apple experience is with the UK store where you can usually just walk in and walk out with a replacement handset.I cannot believe how difference the customer experience is over here. Am i over-reacting in complaining about this? 1 week old iPhone4 stuck in Recovery mode loop

Hi theretoday when I connected my ip4, iTunes asked me to download and install the latest iOS 4.0.2, after that it went into a recovery mode loop and I cant do muh more. I have so far tried to restore using 3 other pc´s, xp and Win7. Tried different USB cable, disable firewall/antivirus, but nothing helps. contacts on iphone 4 arbitrarily duplicating

iphone 4 water damage

I lost my iphone, and someone found it for me. Apparently, the guy found it on the street. When I got it back, I tried to turn it on, and the Apple logo would come on, say connect to iTunes, then turn back off. And it would do that over and over. I called AppleCare, and found out abt the sensor at the bottom inside the dock connection, and it was red meaning water damage.Im not sure if the bag of rice trick would work, since Ive already turned it on. But thought I would ask if anyone has experienced that yet. Does it matter that Ive been turning the phone on repeatedly? I upgraded to an iphone 4 and was thinking about selling my 3G. For some reason I took out the sim card (security reason?). It sat around and I never sold it and I just had to restore my old phone. Have to re-install iTunes everytime I sync iphone 4

The most annoying thing ever, for ages I couldnt get my computer to recognise my new iphone, after trying everything I re-installed iTunes and it worked. I then plugged it in the day after and it wouldnt recognise it was plugged in, it didnt come up in finder or in iTunes. So I re-installed iTunes again, and it worked. I synced up my iphone twice more and have just gone to sync a 3rd time and AGAIN it is not recognised, and will not show up anywhere on my mac. Do I seriously have to re-install iTunes everytime I want to update songs or anything on my iphone? I have tried everything that is suggested in forums and on the Apple site, nothing works except un-installing and then re-installing iTunes, but I cant do this everytime! Downloading Videos iphone 4

Hi,I need major help. I just recorded a ton of videos of our family trip to Disneyland on the iphone 4 but it wont let me download it onto my macbook. I used the almost DLSR app and neither iPhoto or Preview will allow me to download any of the video footages. I guess almost DSLR creates a different file that cant be recognized. It looks like its still a .mov file but the file must be in some other unrecognizable format. Preview gave me this error message:The operation couldnt be completed (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9912)All of my iphone 4 and iTunes is up to date. I have a problem... When i try to delete a discussion on Mail the application just quits and i have to hard reset to get it to work. And that is not all when i try to search in spotlight iphone for the weather a weird application called Web shows up as the top hit, and i have never used it so i try it immedietly after i do the iphone 4 shows the apple screen and restarts. 3rd iphone 4 screen malfunctioning

Swapped out the first because of another issue. Got a second, the screen started getting lines 1 day after I got it, small fine lines running across the screen, makes the screen look like ****! Went back a day later, they swapped it out no problem, SAME issue with the screen, and its super yellow. What in the world do I do now? I am not going to go back in there and demand for a new one again--Apple on the phone wants $30 bucks to ship another one out, what does anyone recommend? iphone 4 correct video import process

OK so i understand the correct process for importing photos. They go in your camera roll, until you import them into iphoto then they get re synced back to the phone to the photos app. Kind of a digital representation of old fashioned getting your film developed.Now, how is video supposed to work - i cant figure this out. You shoot some video. It again goes into camera roll and is synced into iPhoto (???? even though its not a photo and is a video). Because this is video at this point nothing happens to it as it is not resynced back to your phone in a more organised place - iPhoto doesnt sync video to the photos app on your phone. Thought apple would have given video a home like photos live in the photo app, video perhaps lives in a video app or even iPod (same as other videos/films you have on your phone). I encountered this 3 times on my iphone 4. Iphone4 freezes when closing multitasking apps. Unacceptable

Has anyone noticed that when you have a number of apps running, and you continuously tap the x to close out of them, the iphone freezes even though the icons keep wiggling. It takes the phone about 2 minutes to unfreeze, or I have to restart it. This doesnt only happen if you have a ton of apps running, sometimes it happens randomly when closing out of just one app. It happens on my iphone 4. Software bug? Dialing from address book entries with area codes iphone

All entries in the address book have phones with the area code prepended. Just the area code, not including the 0 before the area code to identify it.When the iphone dials a number this way, ZXNXXXXXXX (asterisk format), the carrier replies an error message informing the number is wrong. Both TIM and Claro do that. If an 0 is dialed before the Z, then the call goes through.
