iphone activated Pop-Up Will not sync 3g

Heres the story: I was using TweetDeck and it froze so I reset the phone. After it booted up again the iphone is activated pop-up came on. I hit dismiss. A few seconds later it came on again. About every 5-10 it re-pops up. I talked with ATT and Apple and reset the network settings, and when that didnt work was told to sync the phone and do a restore. When I got home to plug the phone in to restore it iTunes popped up with An iphone has been detected but could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iphone and try again. But iPhoto can recognize it.What can I do to fix this?? macbook pro

3.1.3 update deleted 50 Address Book data iphone 3g

After the latest update deleted half of my Address Book, I made the stupid mistake of syncing to get them back. Unfortunately, I did a two-way sync which permanently deleted the data in my Address Book. I have thousands of contacts and dont even know where to begin replacing the data. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a chance the data is still embedded somewhere? Tonight I was using my iphone to listen to some audio files. When I finished I unplugged the headphones and left the phone for a while. Ten or fifteen minutes later I went to use the phone and could not get anything on the display. I assumed the phone had turned itself off so plugged into macbook to charge. Surprisingly the phone connected to iTunes, did a backup and synch and showed the battery was mostly charged, but still a black display.Has my phone died? If I try calling it I can hear it ringing on the line but the phone itself remains silent with a black screen. iphone 3g-can only connect to 3g network not GSM

Hi,my iphone 3g can only connect to the 3g network. If I turn off 3g, then I cannot connect to any network (GSM, GPRS, EDGE). I have tried everything. Restore, reset network settings, etc. my sim-card works fine in other phones (incl. an iphone 1G). I suspect that it is a hardware failure. First day of week in calendar iphone 3g

In the UK (as in many countries) the week starts on Sunday and calendars normally reflect this. with iphone the week starts on Monday (in UK) but in Ireland it starts on Sunday. I really cant use a calendar showing Monday as the first day of the week (its too confusing when compared to printed calendars and iCal on the computer). If I set iphone calendar to Ireland thats fine for a while but soon it reverts to UK and Monday. I have an iphone 3g and have been experiencing problems with sending emails. I get an error message that the account name or password is incorrect. I can receive emails but they will not send. I initially thought that it was an account problem. I have tried restoring the iphone. I have also deleted the account and replaced it. What I realized today is that when I am on the 3g network, the error message appears. As soon as I return home to my wifi network, the email will send normally. Any ideas as to why this will occur. my email is through an ATT DSL account. Mac pro, 17" macbook pro, and 13" macbook Mac OS X (10.5.3)

iphone 3g-connection seems no faster on 3g than EDGE

Thanks to the new FCC Broadband app, Ive made a bit of a frightening discovery. my data transfer rate on 3g seems to be no faster than EDGE! Last night I ran the app at home, where Im normally connected on wifi. I first tested my connection speed on wifi, which was about 5 Mbps download speed. I then turned wifi off so that I could run the test on 3g. .16 Mbps! I then turned 3g off and ran the test again on EDGE, where the result was .15 Mbps. Compared to what Ive been reading, this seems very slow. I should probably run the test in a few other places around town, just to see what the results are like. I should mention that my iphone is not on a contract, I am using it on an AT&T pay as you go account. Any ideas? Thanks. macbook Mac OS X (10.6.2)

WiFi wont connect to network iphone 3g

Hey GuysIm having real trouble with WiFi. my iphone wont connect to ANY network, regardless of the networks security. It sees the networks just fine, and for the protected ones it asks for login details, but Unable to join network xxxx is all I ever get.Ive restored the phone twice, update firmware, reset network settings, hard reset/restore mode, messed around on my home network adding MAC addresses etc.. No go. The networks I have tried to access have all been very easily accessible by my friends iphone.The iphone is second hand so I dont know if its ever been able to connect to WiFi, but it certainly hasnt been able to while Ive had it.Actually, these is one exception. The only network Ive been able to connect to is through my macbook. I think its whats called an ad hoc network, and its set up simply by selecting Create Network under the Airport icon, and hitting OK. Any advice would be most appreciated. iphone 3g no longer shows charging or recognized by PC

iphone 3g 3.1.2 no longer shows to be charging when connected to my PC or to a wall outlet. The computer does not recognize it at all, tried putting it into DFU and still, no recognition. What Ive discovered is, that it does actually charge when plugged in, just doesnt show to be. Like, I get no lightning bolt when plugged in. I let the phone stay on until it died, ofcourse once I powered it on, I got the black screen with the red battery, so when I plugged it in to the PC, I got the lightning bolt and the phone turned on. Still doesnt show to be charging once inside the Iphones OS. I thought it might have been a faulty dock connector, so i bought another and replaced it, nothing changed. I have 2 other iphones and they work perfectly fine with the same cable and same computer. I thought maybe a restore would do something, but I cant even get the PC to recognize it, so thats out of the question. Does anybody know what it might be? iphone 3g hangs and reboots when connected with usb

Hi,Im having problems with my iphone 3g (it has the last firmware and has never been jailbroken) when trying to sync/charge with the usb cable connected to any PC.. Ive started having problems two days ago (I did not do any particular activity apart from updating 14 apps from iTunes): I connect the phone to my pc, it starts syncing and after few seconds (sometimes 1-2 minutes) the circle with bars appears in the middle of the screen; then, after a while it reboots and the apple logo appears (I usually reboot it with sleep+home because after 20 minutes it is still there).. Ive lost my backups and Im not able to complete the iphone backup, so I dont know how I should proceed now... Maybe I could try to reinstall the firmware, even if Ill loose everything, but is it possible to do that without an active internet connection? Hi All,Well, I updated my iphone 3g to 3.1.3 from 3.1 and my iphone does not show the Wifi anymore. The Wifi settings in Settings is grayed out.I am sheerly frustrated by the fact that the update has bricked my phone. Since, then I have tried severals restores and resets. But alas no luck. Finally, I tried Reset Network Settings once again and the Wifi was detected and the Wifi address showed up.Next, my Wifi dropped connection after being connected to the Airport Express base station after 30 mins. The Wifi would no longer detect any networks. I restarted the phone and the Wifi is gone again. No Wifi address and the Wifi address is missing. I again did Reset Network Settings several times. Finally, the Wifi showed up again. This time around, the Wifi dropped connection after 10 mins and wont show up again.I am, certain that the 3.1.3 update is causing these issue. my phone has been working perfectly before the update.I know there are other threads on this issue. I love my iphone. I had the original, now I upgraded to the 3g to take advantage of the gps capabilities of some of these apps. For example, Golf GPS apps, that tell you yardage on the course. Problem, average round is 4 hours, and 5 if youre waiting on every hole from slow players. Even with a full charge, these kinds of apps just kill the battery. I started with a battery 3/4 full, and made it about 12 holes before it was down to 10 minutes left on it. After months of no real problems, my macbook (OS X 10.4.11) and iTunes (9.03(15)) refuse to recognize my iphone or my wifes iphone. No sync, no charge, nothing in the Finder window. Hello!I replaced the battery in my 16gb 3g and in the process of doing so broke the ring in the wifi cable where it is screwed to the housing. after assembling everything, checking, double checking. iphone will not turn on at all.At first I got a little red line showing a dead battery when I plugged it in, but I couldnt get it to turn on (pushed power and home button together, tried dfu etc etc). Hello,I have noticed an issue with my iphone stopping charging.When the iphone is connectd to my Mac via usb cable, iTunes pops-up and shows the charging icon. Hello All,my first post on this forum ...Ive searched but havent found anything prior on this topic.I can forward calls from my iphone, but I have to type in the whole number unless its the one I last used. This is primitive usability. It should have an option to search contacts to choose a number from there, or at least remember the last several numbers entered. So yesterday it start with my iphone telling me that I needed to connect to iTunes and restore because I couldnt make or receive calls. I reset it, and seemed OK. I later tried to play doodle jump, which crashed upon opening, so I reinstalled it to no avail. I discovered this morning that wasnt just doodle jump, but all 3rd party apps. It also went through stages of not turning on, telling me to restore it, and still having an image on the screen but there was absolutely no brightness to it, and instead of the screen going black when I press the sleep button on top, I would get a bright white screen. Giving up on resets, I came home from school and restored it, and it worked perfectly. Now its 5.5 hours later and it just froze, unfroze, and had no brightness. Hello everyone, Im having a problem syncing my iphone 3g with iTunes to restore it. I received an iphone 3g 16gb from a friend because he didnt want to try to fix it. He told me it broke after he dropped it. Boots up to the apple logo and just stays there, sometimes spinning, sometimes not.So I started reading around the net trying to find ways to fix it. Ive tried hard resetting (home and wake/sleep same time for 10 secs) and that didnt help. Ive tried hooking it up to an itunes with the most recent update and restoring from there. The problem is, my laptop doesnt detect the iphone at all. I have a VAIO with VISTA Business and it is not detecting the phone at all when I plug it in, doesnt show up in device manager or give any indication that the iphone is plugged in other than when I plug it in, the phone boots up to the apple. Ive tried plugging in the phone and going into recovery mode from there and I can bring up the screen that shows itunes and the usb cable but nothing shows up in itunes. Ive tried getting into DFU mode, but my laptop is still not detecting it.Im running out of ideas so I thought Id post on the web. Has anybody run into this problem before? I used to sync my iphone to my daughters macbook. I just got a new imac and started to sync to it since this is now my main computer. First it says my phone is synced with another photo library or folder and do I want to sync with my library and replace all existing photos and albums on the phone with those from existing library. Right now I hit no. Then it says my phone is synced with another user account and do I want to sync this phone with the info from this user account instead. my options are to replace info or merge info. Help me! Somebody please <grin>!I had to get a replacement phone from the Apple Store due to my battery life dwindling. Anyway, the Genius told me to plug the refurb unit into my macbook and wait for the prompt restore from backup or something along those lines. I recently had to set the date as it had reverted to January 2000It doesnt matter if I plug it in to the AC adapter or the usb port on my iMac, it doesnt show as charging and on the iMac it doesnt appear in iTunes or have any effect at all.Ive tried restarting the iphone, restarting the iMac, putting the iphone into DFU mode and still nothing.Any suggestions?  iMac Core 2 Duo 24" 2Gb RAM 500Gb HDD --  macbook 13" 2Gb RAM 160Gb HDD Mac OS X (10.6.2)  iphone 3g 16G
