Hello,I have noticed an issue with my iphone stopping charging.When the iphone is connectd to my Mac via usb cable, iTunes pops-up and shows the charging icon. The same icon is shown on the device and I can see its charging for a couple of minutes. Then the charging icon changes to a pugged in icon and the charging process stops and just stays there. Call Forwarding doesnt save prior numbers or allow selection from Contacts iphone

Hello All,my first post on this forum ...Ive searched but havent found anything prior on this topic.I can forward calls from my iphone, but I have to type in the whole number unless its the one I last used. This is primitive usability. It should have an option to search contacts to choose a number from there, or at least remember the last several numbers entered. So yesterday it start with my iphone telling me that I needed to connect to iTunes and restore because I couldnt make or receive calls. I reset it, and seemed OK. I later tried to play doodle jump, which crashed upon opening, so I reinstalled it to no avail. I discovered this morning that wasnt just doodle jump, but all 3rd party apps. It also went through stages of not turning on, telling me to restore it, and still having an image on the screen but there was absolutely no brightness to it, and instead of the screen going black when I press the sleep button on top, I would get a bright white screen. Giving up on resets, I came home from school and restored it, and it worked perfectly. Now its 5.5 hours later and it just froze, unfroze, and had no brightness. my iphone 3g has been out of warranty for about 2 months now, and just recently ive noticed this small yellow discoloration in the bottom left corner. Is it worth it to take it to an apple store and pay the $30, for them to tell me that I have to buy a new one? Or would they replace it? iphone battery dies when connected to Mac 3g

I have an iphone 3g and it has decreasing battery charge time, but I can live with that.Recently, when I connect the iphone to my Mac to sync the phone the battery drains very quickly. Its very odd.If I charge the iphone on the wall then it charges normally.I tried different cables and different usb ports but the results are the same. hey all,i have a problem with charging iphone battery,i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at alli used both charge connector and usb drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try please help someonethankyouMessage was edited by: LailaGerard iphone OS 3.1.3

Help windows vista doesnt recognize iphone cant restore 3g

Hello everyone, Im having a problem syncing my iphone 3g with iTunes to restore it. I received an iphone 3g 16gb from a friend because he didnt want to try to fix it. He told me it broke after he dropped it. Boots up to the apple logo and just stays there, sometimes spinning, sometimes not.So I started reading around the net trying to find ways to fix it. Ive tried hard resetting (home and wake/sleep same time for 10 secs) and that didnt help. Ive tried hooking it up to an itunes with the most recent update and restoring from there. The problem is, my laptop doesnt detect the iphone at all. I have a VAIO with VISTA Business and it is not detecting the phone at all when I plug it in, doesnt show up in device manager or give any indication that the iphone is plugged in other than when I plug it in, the phone boots up to the apple. Ive tried plugging in the phone and going into recovery mode from there and I can bring up the screen that shows itunes and the usb cable but nothing shows up in itunes. Ive tried getting into DFU mode, but my laptop is still not detecting it.Im running out of ideas so I thought Id post on the web. Has anybody run into this problem before? I used to sync my iphone to my daughters macbook. I just got a new imac and started to sync to it since this is now my main computer. First it says my phone is synced with another photo library or folder and do I want to sync with my library and replace all existing photos and albums on the phone with those from existing library. Right now I hit no. Then it says my phone is synced with another user account and do I want to sync this phone with the info from this user account instead. my options are to replace info or merge info. Hi, Ive just tried to plug my iphone into iTunes on my laptop, the iphone registers & appears in the bar on the left with my playlists but the main window just has iphone across the middle of it with no option to sync at all & no tabs for applications etc. Im still on OS 3.1.2 & have been ignoring the notifications to upgrade to the new OS. Help me! Somebody please <grin>!I had to get a replacement phone from the Apple Store due to my battery life dwindling. Anyway, the Genius told me to plug the refurb unit into my macbook and wait for the prompt restore from backup or something along those lines. This is strange... my iphone has recently started acting up.1. It wont sync. It isnt even recognised by iTunes or iPhoto.2. It seems to charge but isnt displaying its charging. Hi,Akin to RSS reader, I tried to use the AsyncImageView to download the images and cache the images once I receive them. But this is hindering the UITableView scrolling performance. how I avoid excessive data charges iphone 3g

I would like to know how to avoid extortionate fees for data usage. Im in France using an unlocked iphone 3g with a pay-as-you-go SIM card and just burned through a 150euro credit in a couple of hours on the internet. The phone works fine connected via wifi even if my pay-as-you-go card is out of credit so I thought I was OK to use it with my freshly renewed card. Au contraire.Before I make the same mistake again Im wondering if I can set up my phone so that it only accesses data through wifi. Hello, recently my iphone has been falling apart! There are about 30-50 dust pieces underneath my iphone screen. Not only that but I am more worried that the bezel and and screen are starting to some off the iphone itself! Eventually a crack from the dock port up to the symbols and logos appeared cracking the plastic without any accidental damage, just appeared one day. So far it has been just been 9 months since Ive gotten it. Is it possible for me to go to an Apple Retail Store and ask for a swap? When I first bought the device Wireless Wave told me if any damage or defect came up theyd replace it with a 3g S from an apple retailer store. Yesterday evening when getting home I noticed my iphone was off, or out of charge. I plugged it in assuming it was out of charge and the apple symbol appeared as if it was turning on. Hey Forum!The other day I dropped my iphone 3g from say just above a meter into the floor. The iphone went completely black and I couldnt start it anymore. When all my hope was lost I tried to plug it into the charger, and the little white apple on the black screen appeared. I thought that the problem was solved and everything, but there was one catch... the phone never went to the actual phone-up-and-running step. So, Ive tried a couple of things, restoring it and putting it in DFU mode, but with no further success. One thing on the other hand is that I manage to get the connect to iTunes sign on the phone, but Im not sure that helps. Removing Old Phone Numbers being referenced by iphone Voice Control.

Hoping someone can help or direct me to where I can find the answer to my problem. Basically whats happening is when I use Voice Control its referencing old phone numbers for certain people and I dont know how to get it to use the new number. Ill be traveling in the US for 3 months, but do not want to use my Austria-based Orange providers SIM card because of astronomical roaming charges, especially for data.I asked my provider Orange whether they would officially sim-unlock my iphone if I prepaid the rest of my 2 years contract (5 months to go) plus the €40 unlock fee, but they declined, saying that Apple does not allow locked iPhones to be unlocked before the 2-year contract is over. ?!?I now have used Cydia to jailbrake and and blackra1n to sim-unlock my iphone (vers. 3.2) : another SIM card now works (although I also experience a sluggish iphone, but that was even before the jailbrake!!!).my question: What plans (for voice AND data) are available in the USA that do NOT require a long-term contract, but say a monthly fee for as long as you use it? Dead spots iphone

About 3 months ago I had the ring/vibrate button fall off my phone. Apple was kind enough to give me a brand new phone. Headache city. Diminished battery, no wifi, and worst of all - unresponsive spots on the screen. And thats not all. my best guess is the phone is heating up and it just does its own thing. I can see the phone reacting to touch on the back of the phone. Has anyone else experienced similar frustrations with their phone? Ive got a 3g with Dodo in Australia (Optus network), my 3rd SIM card has died. THis time it has been less than a week since receiving it. It just says NO SIM INSTALLED, if I put in another SIM card its fine. my SIM wont work in any other phone either so its definitely toast.When I bought my iphone, I ripped out one of the contactors while installing the SIM card. I had it repaired at this iphone doctor place, he replaced the SIM tray with new gold contactors and stuff (I bought the phone used).I want to know if this is an issue with the phone, or with my carrier. The carrier is kind of dodgy in my opinion but would it make sense that my phone would be frying these SIM cards?? I am not sure if my query is in the right section, if no apologies. I have just reinstalled snowleopard on my macbook, after reinstall my iphone is charging, iTunes is detecting it although can not access it since it is running 8.xx version. I have kept immaculate care of my iphone 3GS since I bought it last June. I make sure to sync it regularly and it is in great shape. However I have recently discovered that occasionally when I send a text or picture message that the recipient does not get it. phone losing charge quickly with minimal use. iphone 3g

my stupid phone keeps dying after a few hours of not being plugged in. Today it did it and I had only made one very short phone call and used it to read a couple of emails. I havent used any apps that use a lot of power and I havent been using it to listen to music at all today. This happens frequently. What gives? Ive already done a factory refresh which I regret doing because it didnt fix the problem and, despite running a back-up of the phone before doing a refresh, all of my apps and and music where erased even though I told it to restore my phones content using the backup file I just created. This is the second 3g Ive owned (the first ones ear speaker stopped working and Apple replaced it with this one). The first one never did this. Hi,I have an iphone 3g, and when Im making calls the screen is still active. Recently (perhaps after upgrading to 3.1.3?), I noticed that there is no tracking/position bar in the iPod app. Not so problematic with music, but with podcasts it would really help to know how many minutes Im in and how many I have left. Hello. my iphone keeps locking up when a contact on my phone calls me. This only happens when either a contact calls who has a picture assigned to them or has multiple numbers under a single name. I did not try applying pictures to my contacts or applying multiple numbers to a single contact since the 3.1.3 update. Im not sure if that update fixed that bug but I dont want to risk it since I always miss the call when those types of contacts call since the phone locks up. Trouble Sending text messages after updating to 3.1.3 iphone

So last night I updated to 3.1.3 and now i am having serious trouble sending text messages. At about the 90% mark the sending progress bar stops and then Ill get the red exclamation mark stating my message was not sent. If i try to resend the text about 4 or 5 times it will finally go through. I am at work where I know I have a connection to AT&Ts network. I have never had trouble here before.
