I'm not really sure why but it seems a number of people I know, myself included are getting an error sign (and an alert too) in the Messages app on iphone where it seemingly won't send anything using iMessage, yet the other person does get the messages. I was thinking it might be our carrier but it happens on my iPad and my Macs too so probably not...? Anyone else experiencing similar issues (or have had this happen) or know how to fix this?
Hi all ... I have seen a couple of other posts on this topic but my situation seems a little different, so here goes for a new thread.I have just set up my new iphone 4 32GB, including my POP/SMTP email account. Receiving mail worked instantly but I have not yet managed to get Sending mail to work.First time I set up the account I did not enter any username or password for the SMTP server as these are indicated as "optional". Kept getting a message saying that iphone could not connect to the SMTP server, so went back in and added the username and password (same as POP server). iphone then took an age to connect but seemed to be sending mail (displayed a "Sending mail" message + progress bar at the bottom of the screen). However sending mail systematically failed, with the unsent messages remaining in the Outbox.Tried deleting and reinstalling the account - this time added the username and password for the SMTP account at the outset. Am now getting the "connection to the SMTP server failed" messages again !!!Any further suggestions as to what I might try to troubleshoot this would be much appreciated ... this is a basic POP/SMTP mail account that I have been using for many years without issues. As you'll have gathered my technical know how is near-zero!many thanks in advance
I am having two minor difficulties with my 3GS. Despite the fact that all my email messages have sent properly, my mail program still acts like it is trying to send a message, but cant. Whenever I open my mail, it tries to send - and I get a message that I have an unsent message. Theres no unsent message sitting in my outbox to erase. Ive tried restating and re-setting the phone, but it doesnt help. Also, recently, I keep getting an annoying message saying that the phone signal is lost. Since I live in a house where the phone signal is weak - and fluctuating - this message pops up repeatedly - so that it interferes with other uses of the phone, like applications / Internet. Is there any way to turn this message off? The message only started to pop up after a recent software update. It must be new. Very frustrating . . .Thanks,Paul Hamilton Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.7)
The email on my phone says there is an unsent message but there are no messages. Ive reset my phone, deleted my email account and re activated it. My wifes phone, on the same account doesnt have that message. How do I get my phone to quit sayin that? 3g iphone iphone OS 3.1.3
So this morning I go to text someone and realize that the text from last night was still up and unsent, so I tap inside the message to bring up the keyboard and it doesnt show up. I go back to all messages and click on another message and the scrolling window is stuck and thinks it is at the bottom when there were still other parts of the conversation that were below. I could drag the window down and see them, but couldnt scroll to them or start a new message. I restarted the iphone thinking that would solve it, but it actually only deactivated my iphone. I had to reconnect to iTunes and was only able to make emergency calls. I have also noticed in this release that there is slow typing. I mean SLOW! Go to wells fargos site and enter a user and password. Let me know when you are done....tomorrow. It is seriously obnoxious. These are the 3 things that I have found. I realy dont want to get into this whole restart phase. I thought we were done with that.... I think everyone made fun of an OS that you had to restart over and over again. Seems the tables have turned... awesome pc Windows Vista faster cheaper and more stable
iphone SOFTWARE OVERVIEW (After 2 Days with it)Dont all gun me just read and think. Apart from the following the iphone can potentially kick other phones into touch. I actually got a few friends to buy the phone as i evangelised it. I mean as a multimedia device the iphone is great but as a functioning phone it is ****. It lacks features that can be found in a budget £30 phone!! Im not saying it is not a great machine but apple are not moving fast enough and who decided to omit these basic features. Im sure all those on the dev team own phones too. I really am baffled after so many software updates these issues have not been addressed. These are not even Wish list requests. Features that have been available for years. My iphone has to be part of my 2 phone arsenal and cannot be my only phone else i really would be frustrated. I despise windows shite mobile but still find myself going back to it for basic functions missing from my iphone....Software Review Per AppThe iphone is a great multimedia device but weak as a phone. A lot of features missing are not even wish list features...they are basic available across the board from budget mid and high end phones.SMSWeakNo ability to forward SMS!!!No Repository to save unsent SMS in case of no Radio ReceptionRepository to save Frequently used SMS messages for quick repliesNo Drafts for SMSDelivery Reports System?MMSCALENDARNo Week view?Send/recieve Calendar Events? I have a Yahoo account my iphone 3G. I created and sent an email. On the bottom of the message screen, I am informed, 1 unsent Message.I have tried numerous times to send the email manually, even created another new and different message hoping to drag the tardy one out with the new. The new one departed, the original still lingers on.Nothing I have done can solve this. I even deleted and re-setup the account and the message is still there haunting me.Anyone got any idea on a solution? Mac Book Mac OS X (10.5.4) POS PC w/Vista; iphone 3G with no 3G service
