Hello, I currently have an iphone 4s 16 GB and am quickly running out of storage space. I only have about 700 MB of space remaining and my "Other" category is taking up 6.27 GB of space! I believe that most of this is because of my text messages; I have never deleted any of them and I'm in a group message that easily accumulates over 150 texts per day, so I need space, and fast!!! I have read about several programs and am definitely willing to buy one, but I would like first-hand information about these programs. I'm looking for a program that will save my SMS, MMS, and iMessage text messages to my MackBook so that I can delete them from my iphone. I would need a program that will save the messages permanently. I want to be able to save the messages to the program, delete them from my phone, connect my phone to the program at later dates and save additional messages, and not lose any messages at all. I don't want an app that I can only save messages to once because if I try to save more, it gets rid of the old ones and only saves the new ones. I'm not sure how any of the programs work as far as that goes, so if anyone could reccommend a program to me that would do what I'm looking for, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!!! Thank you in advance for the help!!!
My iphone 4s's screen has been busted. The phone still works, but am unable to read messages. I have backed everything up on iTunes. When I get the new device will I get to read my messages/texts that have come thru prior to backing up?
Hi, I bought an iphone 4S at the end of May time and it was taken back due to dead pixels once, then the newer one had the same issue so was returned again. The third one which I had replaced last Thursday has a different problem. All is well with the phone is what I initially thought (no dead pixels at least...) I recorded a video earlier on and played it back and noticed it has a very loud hissing/static type sound to it. Even over the voices or any type of noise. I am not sure why this is happening, I removed the case and it still happened. I read online that people have used an app called Qik so I downloaded that and tried it - the same noise occurs. Is this normal for a 4S? Or should I take it back a third time? Thanks in advance.
Again I stand corrected w, thanks, I read too fast.
Hi. I have been informed by a colleague that he is using an invisible app to track a persons location and read their messages. Is this at all possible? Phone is not Jail broken. This is a concern to me as I keep a lot of sensitive info on my phone
Whenever I try to sync my iphone 4S, iOS 6.1.3, to my new Asus computer with Windows 8, I get a message saying "iTunes cannot read the contents of this iphone. Go to the Summary tab and restore." So I go to Summary and hit restore, and it doesn't seem do anything, other than want to download new iphone software, which always takes about 4 hours, and I inevitably end up with some sort of error that prevents it from loading. I've removed and reinstalled iTunes, and restarted my phone, but it doesn't seem to work. I would like to be able to sync to my computer, but it doesn't seem to work. Before I was on an Asus computer with Windows 7 and it worked fine, and now I can't get it to work at all. I have the same Internet Security provider as before, so I don't think that's it. Can anyone figure out what I should do? Thanks
Why is there not an option available to extend the iphone warranty to an international warranty? Especially with a phone that you tend to take with you whenever you travel having to go to the country you bought it originally is a pain and sometimes not feasible. In my case : when I travelled from Hong Kong to a business trip in the Netherlands and then on to the US my iphone 5 got stolen at the airport in Hong Kong. luckily I only had a prepaid SIM for Hong Kong in the iphone so I went online and ordered a new simlock free iphone 5 at the Dutch online Apple store to be delivered in Amsterdam a few days later. So far, so good. I am currently in China and my iphone 5 sleep button broke down. As I had to be in Hong Kong last week I thought I would stop by the Causeway Bay Apple Store after making a genius bar appointment. They checked the iphone 5 and confirmed the sleep button was broken and it would be swapped for a new one. However on checking my serial number they told me I had to go back to The Netherlands to get it fixed.... So here is a problem, I am not planning on being there any time soon. Why is it not possible in the global economy we live in to get an international warranty? I called Apple Care and they suggested I could try in an Apple store in North Carolina where I am due in a few weeks, but they could not guarantee they would swap the phone. Now the end of July I am due in the UK and from what I read now an iphone bought in any EU country could be swapped in another EU country. so that would mean I could swap it in London? Very odd. Always travel with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and these do have international warranty.
I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iphone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans? Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iphone? Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally? Thank you in advance!
Hello I have done a little research and this appears to be a network wide issue with Data sims on the B-Mobile network. The iphone does not correctly calculate the strength of the network and thinks it has no signal (even if you really have full signal) and powers the radios up to max impacting the battery life of the iphone greatly. I believe this to be because the SIM cannot work as a phone at all the iphone does not realise this even though the data connection is perfect. If you go into field test mode it seems to read the signal correctly. Here are some photos showing what is happening. No Bars: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/c9e4/4jct9p7q54izmq1fg.jpg?size_id=8Field test: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/aa41/6bn6m47vm4prc9yfg.jpg?size_id=8
I have an iphone 5, I dont use Siri very often but tried to use it the other day and it does not respond, I have read other threads - tried resetting, backing up, tried everything that was suggest and still no luck. I know its not the wifi as my son has ipod and siri works on this without any problems. Im not sure what else to try, the phone is not very old, but, out of the 90 days support, any one any ideas PLEASE!!!!
Jakarta, 14 June 2013On Mac OS : 10.7.5 (Lion)On iTunes : 11.0.4Difficulty : intermediate - hard Assuming you know basic Ctrl+Click and Option+Drag... Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info" > "Kind" : it's still "Apple MPEG-4 Audio")...1st by dragging that newly changed .m4r(ori) file to somewhere out of that same default folder it was created by iTunes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------{ this is where most confusions occur, take note here, it gets rather complicated }-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------7) Once it's outside of that folder, Double Click the m4r(ori) file and iTunes will play...(u can stop it immediately...) this is just to let iTunes automatically convert that m4r(ori) file into a new duplicate & places it inside the initial default folder where the original .mp3 file is kept... we kept the window open previously, remember? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------8) Locate that duplicate .m4r(new & true) file, in that same .mp3 folder and now DUPLICATE-Drag (press Option while dragging to get the "+" sign) it to the "TONES" folder in your default apple folder structure. (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) file's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media" --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iphone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iphone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iphone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. Enjoy!
Hey, there: I have my phone set to back-up to icloud. I assume when it says "screen locked," that means the little toggle on the upper left. In any case, when I am in iTunes, I find my "libraries" file or whatever has all my voice messages. But where are the text messages? I want to both back them up and make hard copies, as I use them for things that need a record. I am of course being clueless. Thanks. Kenneth
Hey all I work in an Apple reseller. We often do iOS updates for customers on their iPhones or iPads. Everytime I do an update for a customer, iTunes downloads the software update. I was wondering if it was possible to downlaod it once, and always use that file (until a newer iOS is released). Just seems an inconvenience that I have to redownload the software every single time. Any advice appreciated
I am getting up following message; iphone-unit could not update because the firmwarefile is not compatibel. It is correct file A1429I have also tried to restore as new iphone 5 Please help me!

Using OSX 10.8.4 on a Mac mini late 2012 model, trying to sync Calender on mac to calender on my iphone 5 running ios 6.1.4 No matter how many youtube videos I watch or how many threads I read, my iphone calender will not sync with the calender on my mac. Any ideas?I have both my mac and iphone setup in icloud settings just as described in every video. Everything syncs just fine, from notes, contacts, reminders, photostream, it all works as expected except for calander. Please Help! Thanks,-Dean
Sorry I cant remember, it was a couple of hours ago, but no ive never had any kind of jail break device on my phone, i read that tinyumbrella can help you sort it, but it just played havoc with my pc, so I removed all of the associated software.
Really, I understand that Apple want to sell new iphones, I undertand anothers things, but dont update 3GS with IOS7 is disgust. My 3GS was with IOS 6.1.3 and run all applications very well, and more... I dont undertans why dont update... Next year, 3GS probaly will off support, and in this case, not receive update, I understand, BUT now??? Seriously, I am love so much iphone, all apple products, but in this case, many of expected new funcionatlitys, that have in IOS7, I dont get... I am considering change to Android, that the quality phone and software is very poor, but is more less $$$. In my country, the tributary charge is very high, and the iphone, same 4, is above R$ 1500.00 (+/- US$ 750.00), its is so much, and is not easy change phone once time per year... Is there any chance of them change their minds and update the 3GS too? Ty a lot for u patient in read my postTy againMoacir Jr.iphone 3GS IOS 6.1.3
I would like to know if when I receive a text message how I may get my phone to read the incoming message aloud
I lost all my pictures from Africa on my phone. It was the first time I plugged my iphone into my laptop and iTunes was there. I did hit set up new phone but it said your phone has been restored for some reason. Lost all my contacts and photos as I didn't realize set up new phone meant it would do that. I thought it was just setting it up as a new file or whatever since it was new. Didn't know about iCloud at the time so no it wasn't turned on. Is there any way to get them back? Please help The guy at apple store said to go do this and then if its on there from the date I lost them (6/2/2013 4pm) then the pictures should be there still. I just dont know how to see them or find out if they are still somewhere saved. They are not in my pictures folder or recycle bin.
Hello everyone, I'd like to know if it is possible to VNC from my iphone/ipad to my macbook without wifi? I use real VNC viewer to access my Macbook (which has Real VNC Enterprise Server installed) using my iphone/ipad and it works well when I have Internet. However, I'd also like to be able to control my mac from my iphone in the same fashion when I do not have access to WIFI or wired Internet. I have scoured the net for answers and while there are plenty of links for controlling your iDevice from your Mac, there is seemingly nothing out there that shows you how to do the reverse in the absence of Wifi. I have read about SSH tunneling via a tethered USB connection but have not found any comprehensive instructions as to whether such a method would work to control my Macbook with my iphone/iPad. I was hoping there would be devices such as receivers plugged into the USB port that would allow this sort of interaction when no Internet is available but haven't come across any. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks.

Hey gang. Having an issue. Maybe someone can help me. Did a backup of my son's iphone 8GB with iTunes. I have read I can read the msgs with SMS and this program, MesaSQLite. I cannot find the .mddata file on my Macbook anywhere. Says it should be in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup. I don't have this directory. Mine is ~Library/Application Support/Mobile Support. But, nothing there. Any suggestions? Thanks, Hugh
For the past two days while my phone is charging I have not been able to explain this and sound sane. If I touch the settings icon the camera will open up, if Safari is touched then settings opens, allowing no function be assigned to their icon and it's is really freagin weird. A few times I have tried to power off the phone but won't allow me to slide the power bar off. Holding down the power/homescreen button will restart the phone but right back to madness. Can anyone at all explain what the **** is going on with my phone?? I did notice it with a particular charger and close to 2 other laptops. Not sure, but with my boyfriend around I thought he was playing a joke on me since he is very computer literate but denies anything to do with this and from what I can tell by what I've read it could be the charger? I need to know cause it's not anything I wish to encounter again, If this had video I'd show you. possessed I swear!
My notes application crashes when I press the icon. I have been able to find notes using the search. I can add notes. Sometimes I can arrow left and right through my notes, but sometimes it will crash. I cannot see the list of notes at all. I might Have a thousand notes (at least many hundreds). I have closed the phone, reset the phone, openned about twenty apps and x-xd them closed, backed up, updated to the latest version of ios, and nothing helps this situation. I deleted a bunch of notes to the left and right of the note that crashes. I have copied notes as new notes then deleted the original note. This has become a Microsoft windows product for me - lots of work for me and very little productivity from the iphone in the case of this very simple Apple app. DOES APPLE read AND RESPOND TO THESE DISCUSSIONS? Thanks to anyone who can help.
So, my lovely GF brought me back an iphone 4 from China. Yes, it's a real iphone, not hacked, however, the standard apps are slightly different and I'd like to bring back the option to share videos to YouTube and get rid of the Sina Weibo, Youku and Todou integration since I have no intentions of using these apps. I was able to restore my data from my iphone 3Gs without an issue and it's been updated to iOS 6.1.3. I've read in other posts that these applications could be removed by removing the Chinese keyboard from the settings, however, this does not work for the Chinese iphone and English is the only option selected.
Is there a trick to using Sharepod with the iphone 5? When I use sharepod 3.9.9.0 it corrupts the iphone database. I get the nice message "iTunes cannot read iphone content". I keep having to do this to fix the iphone database. https://discussions.apple.com/message/15637529#15637529 When I use the new version of sharepod I don't have the option to copy music from my computer to my iphone. I am trying to copy music from my computer to my iphone. I would hope there would be a way to do this without using itunes. I really don't want to use itunes or like itunes at all. Is there a way to fix this problem with sharepod? What other programs have the same functionality as sharepod that can copy music from your computer to your iphone 5 and vice versa?
I haven't even had my iphone4 for a year, and my lock button up top isn't working. I've tried the compressed air that I've read about. Do i have to buy a completely new phone?
I bought my iphone 4S from the Apple store for £500 last September. Last week it fell from my pocket onto a tiled flooring and the external glass (but not the LCD screen) was damaged, making it difficult to use. I booked an appointment with a Genius and went to that yesterday, where they replaced my iphone for £139. I briefly mentioned my warranty but the assistant wasn't very attentive and I'm not sure if he even acknowleged that. So I paid £139 and got a brand new iphone. I have now read online that £139 is the 'out-of-warranty' charge for a replacement and that Apple give replacements (only once) to each of their customers if their product is within warranty. Was I charged incorrectly?
When syncing my phone I am getting duplicate file name was specified. Why is this and how can I fix it? thanks,
iTune Does not recognize my iphone (Europe 4G-4S). The iOS (ver 4.xx)on the phone does not have the "update the software now" option. WinXp identifies it as "Europe 4G-4S Android Phone and Keeps asking for the following file/driver: ST65xx which I can not find. Thanks for your help!
The volume icon on my iphone 4S shows up and stays on, even when I don't push the volume button. I can't read my screen when the icon is there--very frustrating!
I have create some rule for email on my mac, now i using iphone too for checking mail, my problem is when I first read mail on my phone and becaome it "read" the rule dont apply on my mac mail, please help me I am so tired to put all mail in different folder
I have a bunch of voice memos that I need to move from my phone to my computer. I was able to playback the voice memos from my iphone within iTunes. It shows up as a playlist called Voice memos under my iphone. From there, there is no way to export the audio files to my actual computer. I can export the data as a text file but thats about it. The files are too long to email. Any suggestions? I am running on a mac with mountain lion.
I got my new phone 5 and backed up my iphone 4S, then tried to restore my iphone 5 to me iphone 4S but it has now come up with 8GB (and increasing!!) 'other' storage. I have searched the forums and tried their suggestions but nothing seems to be working. I don't really want to start from scratch and I have also read that starting from scratch doesnt neccessarily work either. Do I need to go to the Apple store? Is it a problem with the new iphone and will a new one solve this problem? Thanks
I traded my Blackberry for an iphone 4 model mc605b / a, but unfortunately do not read my sim is locked, however this model is factory unlocked, who knows something ???
but when I go to download them, it says "Safari cannot download this file". How does this work?
Today I noticed my iphone 5's power/lock button on the top of the phone appears to be failing. Sometimes pressing the button does nothing, and sometimes it seems to think I pressed it twice. The right side seems to have more problems than the left, which usually works most of the time. I read that iPhones come with a 1 year warranty, so it's still under warranty. I've never had to have an Apple product repaired, so I was wondering how it works. There's only 4 Apple stores in my state, and none of them are close to me, so I'd have to send it in by mail if that was an option. Is that possible, and assuming it is, would it cost anything? Or do you think it would be covered in the warranty? All I need is that button replaced, I'm not sure if they can do that or if they give you a new phone. I read this is a fairly common problem, and I treat my phone well, I don't press hard or anything. Thanks in advanced
My data usage is unexpected very high for the past couple of months. I increased my data plan from 200mb to 300mb because my data usage was unexpectedly increasing. I'm 5 days into my billing cycle and i'm already 20% into my data plan. The only things I've done are read news articles online, pulled emails, and used iMessage. No online music or videos. I also made sure my background apps were closed out, and I even rebooted. Has anyone experienced the same issue? How did you resolve this issue?
Good Afternoon, ive recently started up my own business fixing mobile phones - mostly cracked screens and chassis replacements. Just recently i thought id got a bargain on ebay regarding an iphone 4. It was described as working correctly, can make / receive calls and send texts etc but randomly locks up. Ive got the phone today, unfortunately its locked to the 3 network so ive got a micro sim on the way so I cant actually proceed further at this point. Although it did crash once on me when i tried to select language's etc - had to hold the home and power button down until it turned off. Ive read on the forums that this is a common fault, and can occur to any iphone - faulty or otherwise. And the main concensus seems to be to take it back to the store for a swap. My main question is - seeing how im likely to come across this fault again - is the fault software or hardware related? If its hardware related what circuit board is likely to be the culprit? If we could identify the problem then im sure I could just order the required part on ebay. The fact that apple havent recalled the iphone and that they will accept these faulty iphone's back and swap for new suggests to me its an easy fix - its just easier for the technicians to go in the store room and get a brand new one. Secondly ive just got another iphone 4 white - bought cheap as its totally dead. Tried a new battery and still nothing. Got a new dock / charging connector on the way - is it likely to be this at fault? Doesnt seem to be any sign of water damage, and it wasnt described as this on the ebay page. When id swapped the new battery over i tried to charge the phone ( to see if id fixed it ) and it got extremely hot - so i disconnected right away and left it to cool off. Whats likely to be the issue with that one? Thanks, and hope someone can help Adam
I annot send, read, or delete mail on my iphone4S. How do I unlock this function?
I have downloaded ringtones, synced my iphone 5 to itunes, yet I still cannot scroll down to see file sharing. What else can I try so I can transfer ringtones to my iphone?
I recently replaced my iphone screen and afterwards I discovered that my camera roll had crashed. With it, I lost all of my pictures and videos. Luckily, I recovered them from a program that I had downloaded. However, the storage that used to take up my photos and videos on my phone had transfered to the "other" section on itunes. Is the only way to remove/decrease the storage of the "other" file by restoring your iphone? I don't want to restore my iphone because I am also having issues with backing up my phone. Whenever I try to back it up on itunes, it says "the backup was corrupt or not compatable with the iphone". My phone has never been backed up because of this issue, so if I were to restore my phone then all off my files would be deleted. I have tried reseting my phone, but the "other" section is unchanged. Is there anyway I can delete the corrupt files on my phone? I have tried removing all pictures, videos, apps, and music in an attempt to discover the source of the corrupt files but I haven't found them. Also, if I was to "restore backup" with my iphone from my ipad, would that mean losing my messages?
I purchased my iphone 4 while living in Hong Kong. I am now back in the UK and the phone has deveoped a problem where the mic cuts out during calls and the person I'm on the phone to can't hear me. I took the phone to the apple shop here and the girl told me that she would have given me a replacement but she can't because the phone is slightly different than the UK (european) model of the iphone 4. She then told me to call apple care and explain to them over the phone. I called apple care and an american woman said she can't give me support unless I pay £25 but will email me instructions on reseting the phone, I told her reseting won't make a difference as the mic problem is a common one with iphone 4's and I've read it's a hardware problem. So anyways I reset my phone and nothing changed. I'm stuck in limbo right now and dunno what to do, does anyone have any suggestions? I think I'll get a galaxy when my contract is up this year.
On May 18, 2013: Yesterday my cousin and I tipped our canoe while on a river. We had our electronics in a ziploc bag which included my iphone 4S. We managed to save almost everything including the ziploc bag. We were stuck floating down the fast moving rapids for atleast 30 minutes keeping firm grip on everything. Once our fellow canoe group caught up with us we put everything in their canoe and made a pit stop. There we put the electronics out to dry (only a little bit of water got it). I managed to send one quick text out and tried hard to shut off the phone but it kept rebooting. When we got back to my grandma's house I investigated the iphone. It was on and working BUT the flash was stuck on and the power button didn't always work, water behind the lower part of the screen I tried hard to turn it off but it just kept rebooting. With no rice I just layed it out in the sun for an hour. About 2 hours later we rushed to the mall and went to the Apple Store. They checked the status of the warranty and it just expired 5 days ago. Ugh.. So they just told us there was little they can do and they will replace it for $200.00. At this point I didn't want to give up. At the Apple Store the iphone was having such a melt down. The Apple employee struggled to keep it on as it kept turning itself off (power button issue). Everything else was functional besides the back camera full of water vapour and LED light. About 3 hours after that I got home I put the phone in rice. I noticed the phone some how got into recovery mode. Over night and about 24 hours later I took the phone out of the rice plugged into iTunes on my iMac. It was just on recovery mode asking me to recover it on iTunes. It wouldn't work because it kept going into UNKNOWN ERROR 2001 and UNKNOWN ERROR 2006. I read somewhere a fix can be putting it from recovery mode into DFU mode. But remember the power button isn't still working so it is impossible to go into that mode. I think I got it once but still had the same errors. I am not ready to give up. I know there is no such thing as minor water damage but it really does seem minor because everything was functional just the phone put itself into recovery mode with a messed up power button. I'm asking what I should do now. I really don't want to spend $200 for another iphone 4S when the next generation iphone will come at what ever time. It seems pointless getting an old phone than a new one. I just want to be able to use this one until then. Thanks for reading my rants. Brady

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iphone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone. However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iphone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info. She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iphone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!
