I made full reset deleting everything from phone and for 5 hours now it displays a moving circle in the screan and nothing happens

iPhone 5 ear speaker stopped working.

I have power cycled.I have turned the volume all the way up while in a call.Plugged headphones in and back out. Siri raise to speak also not working. iPhone 5 AT&T black 64Gig.  The ear speaker below the Facetime camera has stopped working.  Sound comes through the speaker phone. Anyone know of a fix, other than taking it in for a replacement? ThanksWillGonz

I just dropped my iPhone and when I picked it up, the screen of my phone became whiter. As in the contrast of it became brighter. What is the solution to make it back to original? What to do?? Help!!!

iPhone 5-Proximity Sensor always on

Lately i have noticed that the proximity sensor on my iPhone 5 is on whenever the screen is on. I havent enabled the raise to speak Siri function. Hi,My camera won't focus on anything that is close to the camera which means that it can be frustrating when trying to focus text. The auto-contrast still works however. I'm out of warranty, can they still do this in the Apple store for free? I have read other people saying that it can be done at the genius bar for free, is this the case? Many thanks, RVPete

iPhone 4S low speaker volume

I continue to have an issue with low speaker volume out of the ear speaker.  Speakerphone and headphone volume still loud as normal. I have got 3 replacement iPhones from Apple, but the exact same issue happens everytime.  The ear speaker volume is awesome when the phone is brand new, but over the course of a month or so, the volume continues to degrade to the point where I can barely hear the other party. I saw the thread about a bug, and the fix was to go to 'settings' and lower the volume there, then manually raise it with the side buttons...that didn't work.And the screen is NOT clogged up with dirt. This is REALLY frustrating, as it's done this same issue with 3 phones in a row.  Any help is appreciated.

Buying iphone from Apple store for use with various carriers

If I buy an iphone 4 from Apple store (not subsidized), can I use it with Virgin Mobile's no contract plan?  Or do I need to buy it from Virgin Mobile? And If, after a month or two, I decide not to use Virgin Mobile, can I switch to another carrier using the same phone? or do I need to unlock it or whatever? I guess what I am really getting down to is this:  I want to choose Virgin as carrier because there is no 2-year contract locked in, i.e. flexibility to switch, and I am willing to pay full price for the phone.  But if, for some reason I don't like Virgin's service, or they to raise their monthly fee so that it is no longer competitive to ATT, VZ, etc., I want to be able to switch to another carrier with the same phone, and not have to sell it on the 2nd hand market. I know I can just purchase the iphone 4 that Virgin offers for 350.  But if it only works with Virgin and no other carrier, then what is the point of not having tied into a contract?  The phone is useless unless I use it with that carrier. I have not asked Virgin this question yet, because what I really want to know is, if an iphone purchased in an Apple store can be used "universally" across all carriers.  I kind of understand there is a different standard that ATT use as opposed to all other carriers, but I am hoping to find the definitive answer about iphone compatibility for all carriers that offer the iphone.

I wanted toraise  a request to unlock an iPhone with AT&T bought at a no commitment price (full price) though locked to AT&T and never used AT&T services (read; not a customer). When I contacted AT&T to unlock this phone, I was told to contact Apple since AT&T was not taking up such requests from non customers. Also the AT&T policy states that they will unlock phones bought for no commitment price.Can someone clarify whom to contact to raise the request? Is Apple in a position to identify no commitment price devices and unlock them?If Apple can help, how do I approach them?

When I log into itunes to register my complaint, I am required to provide a US telephone number, which I do not have.  Due to the above, I am unable to raise the issue with Apple support team.  Please advice. 

Iphone 5-proximity sensor not functioning

black iphone 5 32 gb. The screen light stays on during calls and I keep muting or turning speakphone on when the screen brushes against my face.  Is this a hardware fault? I keep reading about this issue with the prox sensor on the Iphone 4? Or is this a software issue? people are complaining about speakers not working etc after ios 6 update. raise to speak in siri doesnt work either. I have soft reset the phone as well as hard reset. Reset all network settings and restored through itunes setting it up as a new device but the proximity sensor simply wont work. I need to know whether apple has even acknowledged this as a fault at their end becaues there are tons of others complaining about the same thing and whether this will be addressed in their update or whether I should just toss this expensive p.o.s out the window and not wait. I'm no longer in the country of purchase so i cant even go into the darn store to get this replaced even though its under warranty.

Since activating my new iphone 5 16gb black from Verizon, when i make a phone call, the screen does not go black.  I have tried all attempts to turn off the bluetooth and turning on and off the "raise to speak" feature on Siri, but to no avail.  Can anyone help me with troubleshooting this?  thanks in advance.

No doubt the iPhone is the most beautiful mobile phone with the greatest (and most consistent user experience). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for iTunes! This tool (and being forced to use it) is the single greatest frustration in the iPhone experience! I am sure many may not agree with me, especially considering it works fairly well as long as you don't change computers, want to sync two different iDevices (with same account BUT different content), temporarily remove apps/songs because of storage limitations, use app folders and expect iTunes to respect their content and placement, or try anything else outside iTunes limited scope. In short, iTunes is either incredibly non-inuitive, I am an idiot for not figuring it out, or it is absolutely the worst part about the iDevice family. My problems began when I changed computers and since then, I have not been able to sync to my new computer. The problem is (or seems) that iTune is insisting on syncing in *one direction only*, with the message, "Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "xxxxxxx" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library." This message appears when I attempt to check the Sync Apps check box.  So what do I do? I have already deleted iTunes and reinstalled it. - Yes, I have right-clicked on DEVICES, and selected BACKUP and SYNC and TRANSFER PURCHASES (why so many options AND what the heck are the differences?)- If I ignore that dire warning and select Sync Apps, the preview window shows all my apps in a jumbled mess. In stark contrast, my iPhone apps are arranged in my own logical order and placed in organized app folders. I am afraid if I click SYNC, this is the mess that iTunes will send to my iPhone!  All I want to do is start over... One have idea why my iphone will not vibrate at all

Recently my iphone started acting very oddly. It would freeze;taking forever to load any screan that i tryed to enter. Even worse it would just seemly kick me out of my message app at its own will. soon after my iphone 3gs stoped vibrating completely. it will not even buzz when i push the ring/vibrate switch on the side of the iphone to its vibrate only positon. Anyone have any helpful ideas or suggeustions?

iPhone 4 replacement have yellow tint to displays

After several years of good service from my iPhone 4, it developed a fatal USB hardware error while attache to a B&W Zepplin Mini. As I was out of warranty, my best option was to purchase a new iPhone 4 which would preserve my eligibility to move up to an iPhone 5 in the future. To my disappointment, the new 4 had a yellow tint to the display. This is especially obvious when compared to another iPhone 4 known to match the very well balance color display of my first one. I returned to the Apple Genius Bar within the 14 day return period and was very well treated by the genius who helped me. Unfortunately, the replacement unit had the identical yellow and slightly lower contrast in the display! By scanning the discussion forums it is easy to verify that this issue started with some early iPhone 4's and seems to be reappearing in the 4S line as well. I've had a great history of Apple starting with the ][e, 128k Mac, MacBook and many desktops as well. I started with the iPhone, then 3GS and finally 4. Currently I have both an iPad and "the new iPad." So I would say that is the profile of a valuable customer. I was planning to move up to a new MacBook Pro with Retina display only to learn that while unit which come with the Samsung Super-IPS display have excellent color and no image retention (consider the irony based on the current conflict between these two parties). However, units with the LG IPS display not only don't have as high quality image but can exhibit considerable image retention. It would be tragic if Apple feels it must relax its quality standards to maintain the manufacturing output needed to sustain high sales. I have been willing to pay a premium for the top quality, design sophistication and superior UI of Apple products. It's sad to learn that quality standards are evidently slipping. Time to "Think Different!"

Hi  After some advice. I have an Iphone 4 16gb. I'm pretty sure it is out of warranty. It has a smashed screen but the phone was workin fine until now. The glass has started to raise above the casing and the back no longer sits flat on a surface, its more akin to seesaw. Now, I have an appointment at the genius bar. What can i expect? Will they replace it for free? will I have to pay? I know the battery problem should be fixed for free (in my opinion) but what about the cracked screen?  Kind Regards Mike

I didnt back up from iCloud. I tried turning various things on and off to solve it with no luck.Finally, last resort. I did these 5 things last night before bed.1. Deleted my email account.2. Accidentally deleted photos app icon from my iPhone 4s.

I've read the previous threads on this topic but none quite fit the bill. I need to re-install the Photos icon, which has disappeared.This happened while I was holding my phone but not paying attention; when I looked again the icons were all shaking. I don't know how the icon disappeared because the factory defaults don't offer a delete option, but the icon definately disappeared at that time.The app itself is still there and, because it was running when I deleted the icon, I can currently still access it by double clicking the main button, where app (and icon) is still accessible there at the bottom of the screen. But this is not convenient for general usage, and if I hard close the app from there then I will have no way to open the Photos app.I can't re-download the app because it is a factory default app and not available anywhere (and as such shouldnt be deletable!).The icon isnt hiding anywhere amongst my subfolders, and I've checked for restrictions but there arent any.Restetting the home screen layout to factory defaults presumably means I  will lose all the other app icons I have, and their sub folders etc,  which I dont want to do either.I have now backed up my phone and all my photos etc, but if I restore my phone from a previous backup, I will lose the data and messages I've acquired isince then.All I want to do is re-install the icon and make sure it links to the photos app that is still installed - surley that can't be so hard? All help appreciated. I don't have a Mac and run Windows 7 on a Sony vaio. calender in home screen showing one day earlier date iPhone 3G

Hi, After updating to iOS 5.1 in my iPhone 4s, I can see that in the home screen, the calender is showing one day earlier that the current date i.e. today is 19-Mar-2012 but at my home page it is showing Sun-18 which is incorrect. But when I click on the calander it shows me the correct today date "19-Mar-2012". Is anybody seeing the same kind of anomalies!!!! Any workaround or do I need to raise a request with support!!! Thanks & Regards,Joydeep

Why display of my iPhone 4S yellowish

I am a Brazilian consumer products of the Apple. I'm having a very inconvenient problem on my iPhone and I saw on the Internet that other users are experiencing the same bug. The screen of my iPhone 4S has a very yellowish, with a color temperature hot. No white on the display, just a very ugly yellow color, leaving the less vivid and less intense glow. I think it is a very serious bug, because, according to Apple's website in Brazil: a contrast ratio of the Retina display is four times larger than previous models, for brighter whites,darker blacks and more beautiful alright . Apple should fix this urgently. I'm pretty frustrated and do not know what to do. In Brazil, Apple does not care for the iPhone and the Brazilian mobile operators do not treat their customers well. What should I do?

What a nightmare i have had with this but i believe ive found a fix.Set the phone up as a new device and don't able location services/siri/icloud etcconnect to wifi/mobile network and wait till the device shows ready to use.then go into siri, enable it then turn off raise to speak , then disable it POWER OFF PHONE  Power phone on after 1 minute  Enter Location services and turn all off in system services apart from Mobile Network SearchEnable Status Bar ICON Set Auto Brightness to OFF and about 50 % Turn on iCloud for your preferences ( i had everything apart from pictures ) NEXT IS THE IMPORTANT BIT Charge the unit up to 100 % and wait till the icon changes from charging to chargedAt that point leave charging and then disable wifi/3g/E/gprs REMOVE THE CHARGING LEAD AND THEN PUT THE PHONE INTO STANDBY AND LEAVE FOR 15mins After 15mins mins check your usage stat's and it should say standby 15mins Usage 0 After that the phone should indicate the correct stat's and have a better battery life . Let Me know

improve my iPhone 4S battery life

After searching at website. It works for me about battery life issue. 1. Go to Settiings / General / Siri / turn off raise to speak and then reboot.(A sensor upper the earphone is continuing on even if you turn it off, YOU MUST REBOOT YOUR IPHONE AFTER THAT.)I think that it is the major problem about battery drain. 2. Go to Settings / Location Services / System Services / Turn off Setting Time Zone 3. Go to Settings / Notifications / Turn off Calendar or move to Not in Notification Center(this may be not need but I don't use this function, so I turn it off.)  My idea, try to reset all settings first, I like a clean Reset all Settings and then do the above 1,2,3. Mine is Usage 2 hours, 40 mins and Standy 9 hours, 02 mins and still has 72% remain now.

iPhone 4S Yet more battery life findings

I've been trying to pare down the single cause of the battery drain issue and from reading and trying the advice from several threads (including the condensed all-in-one thread) on this issue, I still get significant drain during standby.  Recently I tried turning off the Carrier Antenna (via airplane mode)  after which turning ON WiFi, siri and most location and notification services.  This means that Siri with raise to speak, location services and notification are all functional, the only thing that doesnt work is cellular antenna, verified via facetime, imessage and several notification based apps.  What I found was startling, I reduced the battery consumption during standby from 4% per hour to 1% for every 5 hours.   My theory for this is that the iPhone draws more power for the dual antenna and the processor when it encounters low carrier signal, sort of over compensating for the issues that plagued iPhone4's initially (or still does *shrugs*).   I would suggest that for the next iOS update, perhaps we could have an option to disable the algorithm for the carrier antenna that compensates for low carrier signal.  That way we could just turn it on when we really need reliable carrier signal and turn it on when we need to be economic with our battery.  Tell me what you think.  Cheers.

White iPhone 4S screen has blue tint

Hello all, I have read of people having yellow tints to their iPhone 4S screens, but my white 4S screen has a BLUE tint to it, as do the white 4Ss on display that I checked across 3 Apple stores ... I'm surprised that no-one else has pointed out this blue tint thing. It's kind of bothering me now. Tomorrow is the 14th day since I bought it from the Apple store and therefore I have to decide whether or not to return it. After 14 days I don't want to be offered a refurb as a replacement. When checking the 4Ss in the Apple stores, the screens in the black models were perfect ... whites were white and as a result contrast and sharpness was better. It's just I really like the white model and don't want to have to go with black. Do you think Apple will address screen tints (be it yellow or blue) in futures software updates?  Have they done so before? I am new to the iPhone so I don't know if this is something that they've done before. Also, is there anything that I can do to "reset" the screen? Other than the blue tint, my phone is perfect. No dead pixels or dust, no battery problem, calls are crystal clear ... so this is why I am so hesitant to return the phone. Any advice, or info would be greatly appreciated. All the best ...  Tommy

iPhone 4S Poor Display Quality

I received my iPhone 4S on Friday, and when getting started, it seemed as though the colors were not as vivid as those found on my iPhone 4.  They seemed a bit washed out, the contrast was off, and the screen has an almost fuzz to it.  Had I not kept my iPhone 4, I wouldn't have been able to adequately compare the two.  However, the difference is pretty stark.   Is anyone else experiencing this? iPhone 4 on left, iPhone 4S on right.  Notice the color difference in the Messages and Pages icons.  Also, notice how the Weather icon looks washed out on the 4S, compared with the 4.  Even take note of the difference in the wallpaper quality.  The brightness settings are the same on both units.  Again, iPhone 4 on the left, 4S on the right.  Notice the hue of the blue title bar looks gray and washed out on the 4S.  The brightness settings are the same on both units. I contacted Verizon to explain the issue, and they are sending me a brand new unit.  I hope this is just a quality control issue, and I truly hope that this isn't a reflection of all iPhone 4S units.  If so, display quality has diminished significantly from the iPhone 4.

My iPhone 4S Battery experience

Hi, I know there have been lots of queries with the battery on the 4S, however I figure the more information that Apple have the quicker we will get a resolution. I have done the following so far - Restored the phone when I first purchased.Reset the phone & restored as a new phone & setup form scratch.Switched off the Setting Time Zone in Location / System Services.Swutched off raise to Speak in Siri.Conditioned battery twice. However I am still left with a battery life that is not as good as my iPhone 4 was on iOS5. As an example I take my phone off charge at 08:00 am, I put the music on for 10 minutes and have a look at Safari over the Wifi for 15 minutes.  By the time I get to work the battery has gone down to 86%. By lunch time aftef using Reeder / Safari for a maximum of half an hour, no phone calls, not texts / iMessage I am left with a battery on 60%, which is a 40% drop in 4 hours & 15 minutes. I have iCloud on for everything, apart form backup, as it is a service I think is great & integral to my iPhone usage, turning this off would erradicate a lot of essential feature to me. I'm sure Apple are working round the clock to get this sorted, however I hope I do get better battery life.  My Girlfriend has an iPhone 4 & the battery easily lasts all day, she also has iCloud services all switched on, apart from backup. Hope my 4S does actually have better life..... Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.....

white iPhone 4S dull amp dingy display

i was finally able to reserve my phone yesterday and picked it up at the Apple Store.  I was lucky enough to sell my factory unlocked white iphone 4 on eBay earlier in the week and had to ship it out today.  Almost immediately after I turned on the 4S to set it up, i noticed the duller display.  I brushed it off thinking that auto-brightness must be on and it's probably because of the screen cover.  So i took it off after i set up the phone, also turned off auto-brightness but unfortunately it still looked washed out and dull.   I compared it to the iphone 4 and lo and behold, the iphone 4's display is  MUCH crisper, more contrast, better saturated and looks closer to the display on my macbook.  Now i know not all displays will the same, because my boyfriend's iphone 4 has warmer colors than my iphone 4, but his does not look washed out and is more vibrant than the 4S.  I compared all three side by side, and while i do not mind the warmer tint, i DO mind that the display is so dull and looks very cheap, almost like there is a fog over the screen.  I am hoping that there will be some answers, other than the "glue" from the manufacture not drying out yet.  If this is due to different screen manufacturers then Apple should have done a better job at quality control to ensure all the products are proper and ready to be shipped.  I have called Apple and the rep told me to come out to the store so they can have a look and I would be able to swap mine for a new one but they will not guarantee that the display will be the same or not.  If even the reps from the store know about this issue then why hasn't Apple said anything?!  I'm not trying to stir up something that doesn't exist, because after a lot of research I realize MANY many people have the same problem and i'm not trying to be nitpicky, I just want to have a product that is *flawless*.  Don't we all? We paid good money for it.  I guess I'm just trying to get some answers as to why this is.  I might be lucky after I swap for a new one but if im stuck with the same dingy display then I would have to return it and buy the iphone 4 over again.

I tried turning off the "raise to Speak" for Siri in my settings, and did not seem to help the problem for me.  Static/crackle interference still remains =(

Hello..I am using Iphone 4 iOS 4.1 BB 2.10i want to upgrade my iphone iOS to 4.2.1 but when i try to restore 4.2.1 iOS via itune it gives an unknown error 3194..i searched in google and many forum it says that try to use new version of itune.i m already using 10.1 version of itune..i changed my laptop and tried on other laptop to restore but still getting same error..i located host file in c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/ and opened host file in notepad.but in that host file there is nothing written like gs.apple.com like that... nor ip address is given in host file....i m using win vista os in my laptopplease can you suggest me any helpful method to get me out with this problem....Thankyou Sony vaio Windows Vista

Successful 4.3 update iPhone 4

iTunes will not recognize iPhone 4 at all

I looked through this forum and havent seen this one yet: I got my iPhone 4 today and plugged it in to my Windows XP machine, but iTunes (which I upgraded to the latest version) will not even recognize it. It still recognizes my iPhone 3 with no problem. I have reinstalled iTunes (repair mode, havent tried completely removing iTunes and reinstalling yet as I ran out of time before work) and rebooted the pc a few times, but the phone still will not show up in iTunes. When I plug it in, Windows detects it. And the phone itself lights up and gives me the screen telling me to connect it to iTunes. Anyone have any ideas?? Sony vaio Laptop Windows XP
