Call confirmation without jailbreaking prevent accidental call iphone 3G

I found an app that provides a call confirmation without jailbreaking the phone called "Group Contact." in settings, if you turn 'return to the app after phone call" on, you get the message "you will be alerted before making the call, and the app will be re-opened after the call." Before every call, a call confirmation is delivered, which solves my problem perfectly!

My iphone wont turn on after updating

My iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple logo and Screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

I dropped my iphone in toilet

So, I was in my bathroom just about to get in the shower while listening to music, being the clumsy person I am, I ended up dropping my iphone in the toilet. I quickly gathered the iphone, and placed it in rice. I waited 3 days, and if I plug it into my laptop, it turns on for about 10 seconds (only logo appears) then it shuts off. I was wondering if I visited the Apple Store, would they replace this? I have an iphone 4.  Btw, I don't have a warranty.

iphone 5 shutdown

My phone has been shutting off unexpectedly. I did the factory reset and yet the problem continues. Now the phone just refuses to start up. Only for a few seconds I see the Apple logo and it quickly fades away and screen is back to Black. Any help is appreciated.

Weird bugglitch rendering my phone unusuable. Help iphone 4S

I attempted to turn my iphone 4s on, and as soon as the apple logo came up a weird string of code came up, then my phone would restart and do the same thing.I put the phone in recovery mode and attempted to reset it, but as it was resetting the code came up again. Now the phone is stuck at the plug iphone to iTunes spot, and it continues to not let me reset my phone. What do I do?

My iphone turned off this afternoon and when i tried to turn it back on again it came up with the apple logo and then a spinning wheel which wouldn't stop. Outgoing calls iphone 4S

Hello, I've had my iphone 4S since July 2012 and am currently on a 2 year contract with EE in the UK. I've been having a problem for about a week now that came to my attention about last Friday.  Basically whenever I dial a number and someone picks up the phone and I begin talking, nobody can hear me? They won't hear me say anything and will simply hang up, I've recalled this happening to several people but I wasn't sure if there was a genuine fix or whether it merited getting a new handset? I've considered taking to direct to EE because the nearest Apple Store is in Manchester, and I only want to travel there if I have good reason to. Is there any known fix for this? i have tried resetting my phone by holding both buttons but have yet to do a full restore (Last resort) Just wondering if anyone knows? -Matt

iphone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g In and Outgoing Calls

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iphone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working.After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either.The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services,but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage,can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!   ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings,switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

I've tried plugging it in. At first the phone didn't pick up the cable after it did it showed the fully charged logo on the battery in the corner. But on the lock screen it didn't show the battery filling up. When you unplug it, it's still at 10%

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

iphone 5 keeps shutting off

About a month ago my iphone 5 turned itself off. It does this now a couple times a day and I have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. Lately, I go to take the phone out of standby and it shows a power cable conneted to the iTunes logo. I still have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. The phone holds its charge and I make sure I am charging the phone everyday. Not sure what it is causing this. This morning when the power cable and the iTunes logo appeared I plugged the phone into my computer and opened itunes. It found the phone, but said it needed to repair and install everything from a previous backup. So I did that hoping that would solve the shut down issue, but it did not. Has anyone heard of this happening. The phone had been working great. Any thoughts?

iphone 5 keeps restarting its self

It only seem to restart when im using it. Sometimes it wont even come back on when i try and turn it on. Ill put it on the charger when thst happens and the appl logo will pop up then go away and become a black screen again.Also my battery will say 100% it will restart then be at 1%. or if it doesnt reset it will say 100% or what ever i take it off the charger at it will be at that % all day until it dies no warnings or anything. Anyone know whats wrong ?? ive had this phone phone for less then then two months/. please help.

I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s.  It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen.  Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago.  I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone.  It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off.  Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps.  I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered.  This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging.  I took it to the Apple store.  They tried to do the same restore I had.  The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo.  The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off.  The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me.  The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture.   Any suggestions?

I can reset, reboot, restore and it goes throught the strange black and white screen (obviously the apple logo startup screen - then goes to the multicolored line screen - which is some freaked out version of the home screen.

I have an iphone 4, that I had to replace the LCD, power switch - proximity sensor cable, and home button on. After I had made the repairs (after making sure everything was reassembled correctly) I then proceeded to turn the device on.Now it will only display the Apple logo at startup.When I turn the phone off (via the Home + Sleep/wake method) it will sometimes revert back to the Apple logo screen. I have reset the phone (gone through recovery mode) at least 5 times to correct the issue, yet it still is not working correctly.The only software change that had been made to it, was that I had updated it to the most recent version of iOS. And that was approx. 2 weeks before the issues with the phone.Is there another solution to fixing this phone, or is it basically done? (If I can, I really need to get this phone fixed (if at all possible).Thank-you.

Unable to open iphone 5 S slot US bought phone

I bought an iPhone5 from the US, on AT&T carrier. I have now returned to Europe, and wish to change the SIM card. However the SIM card slot is there, but will not open. I have used the key / paperclip methods to try and open, and have taken to an Apple reseller for advice/assistance, but they were too unable to help. I understand there may be a reason why the phone may be SIM locked electronically, but can anyone advise if the hardware may itself be locked to prevent SIM removal? It appears strange that the slot is there but cannot not be opened.  I am hoping it is a hardware fault - if so I expect I will need to return for repair in the US? Or can I take to my nearest Apple store (Amsterdam) for warranty repair? Any advice would be appreciated.

So I went to bed last night and I put my phone on charge. When I woke up my phone was off and won't turn back on. I have tried resetting it.. nothing heappened. However when it is plugged into a charger every 10 seconds the logo comes on my then goes again. Also it's not showing on up on itunes. What do I do?

iphone 5 Troubles

Hi all, Recently I've been having this problem with my iphone 5. I picked up my phone and it was suddenly off. When I tried to turn it back on, the Apple logo would show up for a few seconds and then the screen would turn black again. It wasn't low on battery, but I tried to plug it in anyways, thinking maybe it died. When I plugged it in, the Apple logo came on as if it were booting up, but then the logo faded within approximately five seconds. After it faded, a new apple logo reappeared, and it faded again. This kept repeating itself over and over when plugged in. It continues when unplugged, and only stops when I hold the home and lock button at the same time for around ten seconds. I searched for hours to find a solution, and the only one given was to restore it, and I tried that because I had recently made a backup for the phone. The only problem with this was that the iphone would show the same repeating fading boot up that it did before when plugged in, and for some reason my iTunes nor my computer read that the phone was plugged in. The phone simply didn't pop up. I'm really hoping that my phone isn't broken, and that I can fix this. Any feedback is very helpful. Thanks

Problema WiFi iphone 4S

Estou com um problema no meu WiFi no iphone 4S. Comprei meu celular a 1 ano atras, e tive que troca-lo por defeito no fone de ouvido. O aparelho novo foi trocado pouco antes de encerrar a garantia do mesmo, e esse modelo que me deram na garantia está apresentando problemas no WiFi e no Bluetooth, eles não conectam e nao encontram as redes. Primeiramente o botão do WiFi ficou apagado, mas descobri que se deixar a bateria do celular acabar totalmente, logo após carrega-lo o botão volta a funcionar porém não encontra redes sem fio. O Bluetooth não funciona também, ele não acha dispositivos para emparelhamento.Ja levei na assistencia técnica, e eles também não conseguiram resolver meu problema. A solução "brilhante" encontrada pela autorizada Apple era em trocar meu aparelho por um valor aproximado de R$600,00. o que ficará totalmente inviável levando em consideração que o aparelho não possui 3 meses de uso.  OBS. O problema começou a aparecer cerca de 2 semanas após a troca do aparelho na garantia. Seria a solução do PROCON?

Ridiculous store iphone 4S

I got my very first iphone in November 2012 I was totally converted, until I starte having issues with my iphone 4S... I made an appointment with the Genius Bar in meadowhall sheffield who after 3 appointments and the phone still being broken did indeed replace the handset. The new handset I now have has started coming apart... Its never been dropped or damaged but by the way it's going in about a months time the phone is going to be in about 4 pieces. I went to the Genius Bar who told me it would cost me £139 to replace! But hang on this is not my fault and I have like 300 days left of my warranty!!I then called apple support who told me the guy at the Genius Bar had logged the visit as accidental damage and that I had told him I dropped the phone!! The lady on the phone made me another appointment at the Genius Bar and sent with with a case ID and said they would replace the handset as because of the phone coming apart I was now experiencing signal issues, dropped calls and a lot of hardware issues... Only to get there and then tell me there's nothing they will do unless I pay £139!!!I'm absolutely disgusted!!! This is not my fault.. It's a faulty handset!!! But yet I'm supposed to be £139 out of pocket!!! Makes me wanna actually walk into store put the phone on the side and tell them where to shove the phone and go buy a Samsung! It's ridiculous!!!I really don't know where to go from here!Someone please help me :(

Can you remove small window pops up when your on call iphone 4

I always seem to hang up on people or I put them on hold with out knowing when I'm on the phone with them. So is there any way you can remove that small window when your on your iphone 4.

iphone 4 won't charge

i was using my iphone the other day and the battery percentage had stopped moving at about 70%. a few hours later my phone rebooted into a boot loop which i was able to hard reset out of and now the battery will only gain a charge if it is in recovery mode. it does not die, every time i plug it in rather than getting the "you need to charge" battery when the phone typically dies, it simply gives the apple logo, boots for a few minutes gets to the home screen than reboots. when pluged in, it shows the battery as being charged, but it is nowhere near charged (2% at times). i have tried upgrading, new cables new outlets still no luck. please help!

My iphone 5 will not start up all way.

My iPhone5 was working perfectly fine one day. Then I try to reboot my phone, and for some reason it couldn't get past the apple logo. If it did get past the apple logo, one of four things would happen. A.) The apple logo will fade to blue, and reboot over and over again. B.) I didn't have a lot of my things backed up, so I lost a lot of things I had on there. My phone seemed to be perfectly fine, no errors. It ran smoothly for about 12 hours. Then the same thing happened again. I don't understand why this happened again. I mean I restored my phone completely and all. It just makes no logical sense to me. I just wanted to know what I could do about this. I have Applecare, but I would still have to spend 200 dollars if I need to get a new phone. I don't feel that is right if the phone has factory errors or something. If I could get a clear response on what this is, why it's happening, and how it could be fixed, I will be a very happy young lady. Thank you!

Backing up you iphone and restoring it

I switched my iphone on and it has been stuck on the apple logo for about 30 minutes.I tried holding the home button and top button but that didnt work. I want to restore it on my laptop but it just comes up with restore and doesnt ask to backup first? I havent backed up my phone for months, will I loose everything?

I tried to update my iphone 4 and it just keeps flashing apple logo.

I tried to update the phone to the 6.1 and while in update progress while it shuts down your phone and restarts with the picture of apple logo and now it seems to be stuck there and keeps flashing the logo. I've let the battery go dead and when i plug into computer it repeats the logo flashing, and iTunes does not recognize it and so I can not wipe it out and restore it! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

how to get photos from iphone 5 with unresponsive screen

My iphone was dropped a few days ago and the screen became unresponsive. All the buttons work fine, but I can't swipe to turn it on or enter my passcode. I took the phone to an Apple store and was told by a not-nice guy that there was nothing they could do and that I could not get any of my photos off of the phone because I had the phone passcode protected. I thought Apple wanted everyone to passcode their phones! I wish I had known that this would prevent me from accessing my photos if anything happened to my phone. I have sadly come to accept that my phone cannot be fixed and that I will need to shell out big bucks for a replacement. However, I cannot accept that there is no way to retrieve the material on my phone. When I plug the phone into the computer, it is recognized fine and stuff will download to the phone. However, iTunes tells me that it cannot synch FROM the phone until I enter the passcode on the phone, which of course, I cannot do .   I am really hoping that someone will know some trick to getting stuff off of a phone with an unresponsive screen. Please, please help this very sad iphone user.  The photos are all the photos I have of my young daughter. I know, I should have learned to to back my phone up, but when I tried a few months ago, I couldn't figure it out, so I have no backup. I even tried to set up iCloud, but I couldn't figure that out either. I suppose I deserve to lose all the photos from my daughter's babyhood . Thanks for helping if you can! (please!!)

iphone 5 battery error

Today, when my battery was around 30% (can't remember what percentage exactly) it switched off just as I was taking a picture on Instagram. Literally, as I pressed the button to take the picture, it switched off like it does when the battery is drained so because I knew I didn't have particularly low battery, I tried turning it back on, and the no battery logo came up, so I left my phone for around an hour as I was out, tried turning it back on again randomly by pressing the menu and the lock button and holding it down (which I had also tried previously) and it came back on with 28% battery. I'm glad it's back to normal, but the reason I'm posting is because I'm wondering if anybody else has had this experience, and if I should expect it to happen regularly, or if it was just an error which doesn't really need a genius appointmet for or anything. Thank-you.

Lost iphone

Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). Please share your comments, views and suggestions and let me know the answers to the questions which I have asked. Thanks Abhishek Sinha

My iphone 4 Will not restore with iTunes, It also will no boot up correctly. Hi, (iphone 4 16gb)I recently had to change the front screen with a replacement set, I did everything to A standard,all the cables correctly connected etc, but when i try to turn the phone ON it does nothing.I plugged it into a wall main charger and now it turns on/off every 10seconds only reaching the apple logo boot.It has not once booted to the main screen. Before all this the iphone was bought second hand, its legit but had a damaged screen, withthe screen displaying red lines anywhere with light with the brightness flashing when bright. Now it looks to be fixed, since the apple logo previous on boot had a red line through the centre, but now has totally gone. I know this forum does not support people fixing there own iphones, but its not in warranty and i cant afford to buy a new one just yet. Does anyone know whats happening.Simply it only boots when connected to a power source, lasts for around 5-8seconds on apple logo, switches off and does the whole process again.I cannot simply hold down the power and home to get DFU mode since it restarts too fast.

My iphone randomly and for no apparent reason reboots itself.... goes dark, then apple logo appears and then back to slider view. I just replaced the phone this afternoon, so doubt it is the hardware. Up graded OS to 6.1.3 and restored from backup.... if it is a software issue, how do I isolate... is it OS or is it an App? anyone else had issues with random reboot? I have an ipad waiting to upgrade the OS until I can be sure it is not an OS6 issue.....
