Ringer not working iphone 4S
When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone. I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

i have just had my iphone 4s lcd repaired and black spots are on screeen
i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced. I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks
iphone 5 suddenly no sound
I recently had a software update (6.1.4) on my iphone 5. I ran the update last week and everything seemed fine. However, as of yesterday my phone no longer made sound, it just stopped making sounds to everything. It makes no sound when it rings, when I receive a text/email or when I try to listen to music. The sound is completely dead. The little switch on the left of the phone is turned on for volume. I did a reset and nothing seems to help. Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone have a solution?
Lost Mode Alarm continues-I found my iphone 5
Hi. Last Saturday morning I lost my phone and immediately went onto iCloud and entered the phone into Lost Mode, sent the message and Played Sound. Spent all that day reporting the loss to the police, insurance and Vodafone and generally panicking. Went to bed that night, put hand under pillow and guess what, found my darling phone!!! What a relief!! Cancelled Lost Mode on iCloud and restored passwords, Vodafone etc. HOWEVER, at various times (and obviously I never get any warning), the lost alarm still sounds and in public, people must think I have stolen my own phone!!! I have tried different ways to stop the alarm happening again eg setting Lost Mode over again and then cancelling it again but the alarm still goes off. All I have to do is press the on/off button to stop it sounding but the fact that it goes off in the first place is the problem. It should be cancelled! Why does the alarm still go off? iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock
I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

There was a wrong buy , an app called mobile selling platform. For travel agents to do their flight booking thro ipad . . This happened by mistake , as normally when u download any app it would ask for the password , but some how this time it did not and the down loaded happened . I tried stopping the down load by putting off the power button , but still did not work . Hence this situation. I tried reporting a problem thro the link in the invoice , but to no success .error is reported . I need a refund and reversal . As I have of no use of the apps . I am no travel agent and tried calling the India office but was told that they had closed for the day . So then I posted this query on the communities to seek help in sorting this issue .....need help .

iphone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used
I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me. About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped. It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again. It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back. I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff. SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty. I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

i have selected the sound "update" for my text messages, and it only works intermittently all of a sudden. i have changed sounds to "minuet" with similar problem. i have restarted and also reset iphone 5, but still intermittent.

All one needs is a similar program to the one in the link above and not only can your sms messages be accessed, your calls be intercepted and recorded, but the camera in your phone can be remotely accessed and activated at any given time without your knowledge. As you tap away on your handy little iphone you love so much, in whatever possibly "compromising" or embarrassing position you may be in at the time, a creeper can be looking you straight in your face or observing your enviornement at their leisure. Imagine the horror in finding out that you were sitting there on the toilet gaming and someone was watching you the whole time or better yet, while you were involved in an intimate interaction while your phone sat charging on a dock on the nightstand next to the bed? How about knowing that every incoming and outgoing communication is recorded and documented for the creep to scroll and read through like a book? This is some scary stuff, and it's been used on me via an encrypted picture message. I've done a full restore of my iphone and the pc used for backing up via iTunes to ensure that the spyware wasn't then rooted into the pc or the iTunes, and was even told to create an etirely new Apple ID, but aside from this and there being no true scanning software for malware, spyware or viruses for the iphone-how can I be sure that this encrypted software has truly been eradicated? Is there an antiviral program that I am unware of? I'm not looking for a secure AVG browser, I'm looking for a detect and destroy scanner program. <link Edited by Host>

I have iphone 4S and using chrome app. Google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on Safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, Safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem. Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. Anyone know how to fix that PS: sometimes I get google authentication requirement, but this redirect issue is not link to that. They are happen at two different times
volume on my iphone 4 only works when charger plugged in what's going on
My phone's volume stopped working today so I looked up the problem and all I saw was to use a Q-tip to clean out the port. I did this but now the volume only works when the charger is plugged in. No sounds play, the ringer, keyboard clicks, music and videos don't work. Please help!
Can't hear just one person through my iphone 4
Okay, so lets see if this works. So I've had my iphone 4 for about a year and a half, I've never really had issues beside the normal glitching and having calls drop here and there. Recently I've had an issue with my iphone connecting with just one individual. Yes, I know it sounds weird but keep reading. I have been able to make calls and recieve phone calls fine, however I cannot with just one single individual. They to also only have the same problem with me, however the only difference is they can hear me but I cant hear them or anything. We're able to text and send picture messages without any issues. Now sometimes when I try to call them, itll ring twice and then the line just goes dead, but thats usually them picking it up. I cannnot hear them at all. I've already done the reset on my phone and I've already contacted apple about this issue and their about as lost as I am because it doesnt make sense that this is only happening with one individual. I've also blew out the speakers and such like people have suggested. I use my head phones that came with my speaker, and ive connected and reconnected them incase my iphone thought they were plugged in. Let me give you a little bit more info. They have an android phone, we have the same carrier which is verizon and they live in another state (not sure if thats helpful). I'm completely lost because this has been going on for about 4 days now and its driving me crazy. This happened a few weeks ago, however it magically fixed its self ( im thinking it was because I had bad service). If anyone has any solutions that might help, please, please let me know.

My wife and I bought two iPhones 3 yrs ago.. The accounts where seperate while dating or at purchase. Her cousin (an IT Guru) Managed I think to somehow link up our 2 iTunes together. SOUND BAR SUDDENLY DISSAPEAR iphone 4
It looks like a very common problem but I need a solution. I have an iphone 4 GSM and some times the sound bar dissapear and the only sound I can hear is the ring tone. Non the messages tone, sound on videos, music, keyboard clicks or the block/unblock sounds are available. I been told that the porblem is caused by an error on a file named: com.apple.iapd.plist is there a way to fix or repair this file? I will appreciate any help you can provide.

4 month old iphone 5 with Applecare-Still Â179.99 to replace screen
Hi all, I have an iphone 5 which is only 4 months old and has full Applecare on it. Unfortunatley I had a horse decide to tread on it and the whole screen has cracked! I've taken it to the Apple Store and they have replaced the whole phone for a new one. Thats brilliant except that even though i've paid extra for the Applecare and its only 120 days old, I still had to pay £179.99! From discussions it sounds like there is an option in the US of purchasing Applecare plus, which also has accidental damage, however surely the UK's applecare should have some kind of accidental damage allowance!? After all we all know how small the chances of a hardware fault occuring on an iphone and that seems to be all thats covered with Applecare! I'd like to get other peoples views of this please. Don't get me wrong I agree that if you had a phone that was 6 months old or older, or you had decided not to pay a further £99 for Applecare, then i'd expect to have to pay to get the phone repaired/replaced, but it just seems such a waste of money getting Applecare when this is the most common problem thats bound to happen to your phone!

Hey guys, I have a iphone 4,I noticed when I switch the silent button off it doesn't show the picture(symbol) on the screen. No sound when typing, Recieving calls or messages, App sounds (background music etc) . Although i can play music just fine, When i go into my setting > (sound) i can select the ringtones and messages and they play back... Just wont play back when i recieve phone calls or messages. (I've tried resetting everything, turning the iphone off.... Nothing made a difference) I'd be gratefull if someone could resolve this Problem

Hello.I have the following issue with my iphone 5 16 gb. Sometimes when I try to call somebody instead of normal call sounds (tones) I hear very load metal sounds and can hardly hear any voices.This issue is not a regular one, it appears sometimes and absolutely randomly, with different people, different phones and carriers.It is really frustrating, because for the phone the most important thing is call quality. Question on unlock process for iphone 4
Hello, I have completed my 2-year contract agreement with AT&T and received the instructions for unlocking my iphone 4. My question: My iphone is synced. Now I should do a full backup and restore of the iphone via iTunes, but will this (1) keep all my current apps and (2) affect my current settings, specifically will I need to re-adjust all my individual notifications (alert style, badge app icon, sounds, view in lock screen)? This would be a tremendous chore for me as I currently have 176 applications on my mobile. I appreciate your help with the answer to this. Thank you Regards, Chuck

looking for help with handsfrree link and iphone 5 running OS6
I have a new I phone 5 running latest version of OS6. Since I purchased the phone. I have not been able to recieve calls through my bluetooth on my Handsfree link in my 2012 Acura TSX. I was having intermittent problems with the iphone 4. I can link the phone ok, but when I get a call, I can hear the caller fine, but apparently all they hear is noise like a vacuum cleaner. I thought it was my system, but Acura says it is the Phone and that Apple is aware of the problem. Does anyone know if Apple is going to fix this? Basically you can't use the phone in the car!

Hello together!I just recognized that the quality of Phone calls is very bad.The person who calls me sounds like a robot and the same for me to the other person. We just tried different things and find out that the bad speech quality just appears when we're using a protection case with a hardcover which covers the small microphone next to the camera on the back.I'm using the Griffin Survivor Heavy-Duty Case:http://store.griffintechnology.com/iphone/iphone-5/survivor-iphone5The camera, microphone and flash on the back of the iphone 5 is covered by a small rubber that you can pull out and twist to use the camera.If the rubber coveres the camera und mic on the back it's nearly impossible for the other person to understand me because I sound like a robot. After I opened it while the phone call the other person can understand me very well again. I close it again - I the other person can't understand me again. We although tried it with different other cases with a backplate that covered the small hole on the back between camera and flashlight - and just put the finger on the hole and it's the same situation:If the small hole is covered I sound like a robot to the other person, if it's uncovered all is fine. It looks like, that the new background noise recognition is not working very well.Can anyone reconstruct this problem as well? Hi! I fell into a pond yesterday at around 10am with my iphone 5 in my shorts. I was in the water for about 3 seconds, got back up and turned off my phone. I wiped dry and let it air dry for about an hour. When i got home at night, 1030pm, i checked the forums, and found the keep it in rice fix. So, i took out the sim and placed it in a ziplock bag with rice. Then I found a link in apple support on how to check the wet indicator of my iphone. Checked it, and it was still white. How long do I have to keep it in rice? I have a 730am alarm set for every morning, but it did not go off this morning. Was that normal? I have my fingers and toes crossed while i am typing this. Hope everything will be fine.
iphone 5 external speaker no long works
I've had my iphone since October 21st, 2012. This is a white, 16gb AT&T iphone 5. The issue here is the ONLY way to get my iphone to play sounds is to have headphones in. It plays no sounds whatsoever unless its using headphones or during a call on the speaker by the from facing camera. I've tried turning my phone on and off, updating it to iOS 6.1.3, restoring the settings to factory settings, restoring my phone, then using a backup. I've tried the q-tip in the headphone jack, and pushing on the bottom right side of the phone for 10 seconds. It's only had a very,very small amount of water in it maybe 3 weeks ago. I rarely drop it, and I do my best to keep it in great condition. The first time I noticed the issue with no sound is right after I tried to use FaceTime, using speaker phone. I'm hoping there is someway to fix this without having to drive all the way up to the nearest Apple store and hassle with them. Any more suggestions, I'd gladly appreciate it.

Speaker broken iphone 4
Since yesterday my iPhone4 speaker does not work anymore. If I use the volume buttons the regular volume overlay does appear but the actual volume bar is missing. There is no sound in apps, key sounds etc. If I put in my headset it does work fine over the headset. Telephon does work fine. Only the speakers seem to be broken. Is this a software issue or do I have to send my iphone to apple?

Today my iphone speaker(s) quit working comepletely. I can't hear the phone ring, I can't hear any sound when using the keys. I can't hear anything when playing music. However, when I plug in my earphones, I can hear the music but no other sounds. Everything was working fine earlier and I am not aware of anything that happened to the phone unusual today.

Hello. I have an iphone 4. Software version is 4.3.5. I currently have the sound button on. No headphones plugged. When push the sound button up or down, I have on scree the usual volume screen, however, it says ringer (headphones) instead of just ringer. I have no sounds coming from apps (notifications...) and no sound coming from locking (it is set on on the settings). I cannot listen to the iPod music without headphones (no sound comes out of speakers). I only have these sounds when I plug headphones and the sounds come via headphones. Also, if I have the iPod on, with headphones, the iPod does not turn off when I remove headphones. I already switched it off and tried forced reset. Any ideas to solve this, please? Thank you

After 15 days of regular use, the internal speaker stop working for phone calls, and we need to use headsets or conference speaker.I would like to know if its an sofware issue ( that I can resolve), or al Hardware issue ( need to send to other Country for repair, because I am aboard).I saw a lot of other people with the same problem, and most of them went to Apple Store for a replacement, but I had never read a conclusion about the origin of the problem.I was told by a local AppStore that probably is a Logic Problem, and a Logic Chip must be replaced... but sounds Crazy, I couldnt be reprogramed ?Can any "Genius" instruct us If we can solve it by a software trick ?I had already reset the iphone as a New one , and actually I am in IOS 6.1.3.Best Regards. can the sim card of a pantech link 2 fit in the iphone 4 or 4s

my iphone 4 works mint until i slide to unlock. i erased all content and settings and now the phone only works on the lock screen but goes completely black when i slide to unlock it. the lock and unlock sounds work.
Why can I only hear sound through my headphones iphone 4S
This has happened before and usually plugging my headphones in and out seems to do the trick, but not this time. I can't hear any sounds when my headphones aren't plugged in. I've tried resetting, turning things off and on again, tried cleaning out the docking port, and still nothing? Any ideas of what I can do before I resort to bringing it into apple?
