iphone app updates frozen in waiting-what to try next

Hi, I tried to update 3 apps on iphone 5 about a week ago. They got 'stuck' while updating, and now are permanently frozen showing a greyed out icon, and saying the status as 'installing.'  I have tried everything and need more suggestions.This is what I have tried:Restoring - no changeLogging off iTunes account, pressing home and lock button til apple icon appears, then logging back in - this changes the status to 'waiting' but it's still frozenHolding down icon to delete - it doesn't have cross above these 3 affected appsGone into -> General -> Usage -> then selected each affected app and Deleted them - no changePlugged into PC and synced, then tried removing apps and installing again - the icons aren't removed when I remove, but when I install them again, it does kickstart the icon to change to 'loading', but then it returns to 'installing' and is still frozenAdding a new app/ installing updates for other apps to check to see if iTunes account works - yes they added/ updated fineCalling Apple tech support. The guy was really nice and helpful, but his advice didn't work (as above.)  He told me to contact the iTunes account support, and ask them to delete the apps from my purchase history and then try re-installing themContacting the ITunes account support - they emailed me back, and advised me that they checked my download queue and "updates of these three apps are not there." (?) So they gave me the advice to do as above. He also sent me to this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702 which at the last step says "If you continue to experience the issue, contact the developer of the application for further assistance."  Now, my issue is: How the heck do I contact the developer, and will this help, when it seems to clearly be an iphone problem? Should I give up and take the phone into an Apple store? Any other suggestions will help.  Cheers.

mi iphone 5 camera not working how can i fix it

When I purchase the phone the camera works, but after a few days and having the iOS 6.1.4 installed it stops working!!!When I open it it just stays without open (not in black it just stays close!) Mainly my problem is that most of the time now i have to switch toEDGE and then back to 4G to get faster internet. I have an iphone 4S Unlocked, I am using   t-mobile and i have made sure that it is not the service nor the SIM.Ive reset the setting, ive had a restore again to a new iphone, and ive tried to downgrade my carrier version back to carrier 14.0 from t-mobile 14.1.It worked before i restored to IOS 6.1.3 because of memory issuess. I have made my way arround how IOS works and most of the technical stuff to do with it. Overall, How can i fix this or what can i do essentaily to bring back my faster and more reliable internet? p.s DIdnt know where this would go so i posted it here. p.s+ Yes i was jailbroken before i restored. Error 9 Very Common iphone 4S

With my iphone, it seems to be that whenever i plug it in it asks for a Itunes, which i have got, and it gets put into Restoration Mode, so i click Restore and it extracts the software but it doesn't install it onto the iphone but calls it Error 9, is there anyway of getting rid of it, ive tried it with other laptops and USB cords but it doesn't seem to work:/Please help:P -Ben

Okay, so I wanted to install vine (an app) but I can't. The reason why is because the free button (the app is free) is faded out so I can't download it. I tries so many different things but still I can't install certain apps. When I try to click on the button nothing happens. Because its faded so I can't use it.

I recently bought my iphone 4s from a guy (who bought it from someone else). He sold it to me pretty cheap because when he bought it, one of his friends tried to restore it for him and it got stuck in recovery mode. I have no idea if the phone has ever been "tampered with" or not. He didn't seem to know much about it (said it was his first smartphone) and I thought I might have a chance of fixing it. I'm starting to lose faith in that...I've tried almost everything I can find. I know there are tricks for this all over the internet and I've tried almost all of them. TinyUmbrella does nothing, Redsn0w won't even install on my computer (frustrating!). Trying to restore from iTunes is useless. It gets to about 90% then comes up with error code (-1) and gives up. I've tried that route probably 20 times with no change. I know I could take it into Apple and they could look at it, but I have no information on the phone itself. I cannot get the serial number. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? I'll try anything that doesn't require me taking it to Apple and getting charged more than I paid for the phone to fix it....I run Windows 7. Thanks so much!

Hello.  I have an i4. My calendar icon went missing after I respringed my i4 when I changed the theme. I tried with restore my home screen layout but that didn't work out. I restarted it without luck. Went on to look if I had misplaced it, but that was not the case. I have a jailbroken i4. Is there anyway I can get the calendar back?  Thanks in advance.

I have an iphone 3g and my wifi wasn't working at all! The wifi button wasn't working like I couldn't press it at all, so my brother told me to erase my iphone. I backed it up and erased my iphone, it didn't work so he told me to jailbreak it because he thought maybe since my iphone was originally jailbroken it might just need it to be jailbroken again. I did that and when I looked at it again ALL apps were gone! There were no settings, safari, or app store nothing, it was just a blank page! (A blank page with, oddly enough, my same wallpaper still) When I tried to search up things on the iphone it was found, but it said it was not loaded at all. Help anyone??

Two of my apps stuck on installing when i tried to update. iphone 3G

I was promted to update a couple of apps. What can i do to get my programmes to install? They are stuck in "installing". There is plenty of space to download. Tried finding the apps to uninstall, both on my 4s and in iTunes. Cant find them.

I have iphone 5 and try to sync it with my computer (Windows 7 Max.). I have already installed ITunes and verified my computer in AppStore. But anyway I have problems with syncing applications. For example, I've downloaded Translator and tried to install it to iphone. I've clicked "Sync" in window "Programs", but it goes only up to the third step from four and fails. In window rights it is shown, that this program is already installed, but when I turn off my iphone from computer, I check and can see, that programs were not installed.My computer is also already verified, so that I can connect it with iphone. In common settings on iphone I have already turned on restrictions so that I can install applications. Could you tell me what should I do? I hope that someone had the same problem.

Facebook App in Settings iphone 3G

Hi there, I'm trying to remove the Facebook app from my iPhone5. I've held down the icon til it wiggles, pressed the X, deleted it. I've deleted it from my iTunes library. I've resynced my phone and it's not showing up and not mysteriously reinstalling on my phone (which it did a couple of times) which is great. I then go into my Settings folder on my phone, scroll down the bottom and find it there with Twitter. I click on it and it appears to be an install app for Facebook - install, Learn More, Sign In etc....  How do I get rid of it completely? As in: I don't want anything Facebook on my phone. Nada. Zip. Zero. Nothing. No Facebook. Is this possible or is there now some deal whereby Facebook is now intrinsically tied with my iPhone5 and there's nothing to be done about it? I'm sorry if there's already been something about this but I really couldn't find it (or I didn't realise what I was looking at).  :- Cheers for the help.

iphone 4s Software Update fail from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update  I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening..  Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts..  AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc.  -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not.  SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up..    Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

iphone 5 keeps shutting off

About a month ago my iphone 5 turned itself off. It does this now a couple times a day and I have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. Lately, I go to take the phone out of standby and it shows a power cable conneted to the iTunes logo. I still have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. The phone holds its charge and I make sure I am charging the phone everyday. Not sure what it is causing this. This morning when the power cable and the iTunes logo appeared I plugged the phone into my computer and opened itunes. It found the phone, but said it needed to repair and install everything from a previous backup. So I did that hoping that would solve the shut down issue, but it did not. Has anyone heard of this happening. The phone had been working great. Any thoughts?

iphone apps not opening-have tried all usual fixes

A few days ago I got my iphone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iphone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? install backup won't work because operating system isn't up to date iphone 4

I have two iPhones, one for myself and one for my wife.  My wife's phone was having problems so Apple kindly provided me with a new phone.  When I got it home and tried to install the backup, iTunes wouldn't let me.  It said the operating system wasn't up to date and I would have to set it up as a new phone.  I did this and now my wife's new phone seems to think it is my phone and I don't see any way of installing the backup of her previous phone. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, Ive noticed something interesting, for the past few weeks apps have begun installing very slowly in the past few week over wifi. And I still haven't figured out why. My wifi conntection via speedtest.net was measured at a download rate of 18.85 Mbps. They used to install fairly quickly but I have noticed that they install very sluggishly as of recent. any Ideas? Thank-you, Shawn

I would like to protect documents rather than pictures. Is this possible? I have seen responses that indicate that the phone must be jailbroken which I don't want to do.

Facebook app disappeared and cannot retrieve iphone 3G

I have an iphone 4S, about a year now.  Yesterday I downloaded a Facebook update and went to sleep.  Wake up in morning and Facebook app is missing from phone.  It was on my front page, next to a blank spot, and now there are two blank spots in the bottom right of my front page.  Here is what I have tried: -Resetting phone (home+on/off button).  Reset 3-4 times, nothing.-Reinstalling app.  Looked up Facebook app in app store, and shows as being installed.  So there is an "Open" button where there would be an "install" button if I did not yet have the app.  I click the "Open" button and it does nothing, like it's a dead button.-Searching for Facebook.  On the iOs "Search iphone" bubble (swipe right on home screen) I search for Facebook.  Nothing shows up but contacts.-Synching on iTunes.  App doesn't show up on list, tried a synch, reset phone, nothing worked. I have 111 apps installed across 7 pages (with a few blank spots scattered across).  I do not and never had "Restrictions" enabled.  I have not changed any other settings anytime recently.  I have 4 gigs of free space on my phone. Any guidance here would be appreciated...thanks!
