Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? Hi Its becoming incresingly annoying that I'm having to charge my iPhone twice a day. Its always 100% at the start of the day and come around tea time its down to around 30%. I do use it for whatsapp but thats about it during the day and after having an iPhone 3 & 4 I've never experienced such issues. I was told the battery life was improved with the iPhone 5? My main point is that its not always been like this and with having over a year left on my contract I need to nip this in the bud before it gets any worse. Things I have tried so far (To no avail) Closing all apps that are open.Lowered my screen brightness (I can only just see it) Any suggestions as neither of the above two have worked. Cheers Gareth

My wifi option has been grayed out for several weeks now, Apple has even replaced my phone. I've tried all the tricks from resetting network settings, heating method, and apparently there is a freezing method as well. Apple is wanting to replace it, but it will happen again. I hate how Apple ignores issues like this, since I've seen reports about it as early as April, but I'm sure has happened before then. I'm still under warranty, and lately I've been trying to downgrade to the iOS 6.1.2 since I didn't have the issue at that point, but that's not allowed by Apple and I can't do it through jailbreak since I didn't save SHSH blobs from that previous software. At this point, I'm at a loss, I don't see how they don't realize that it's a big issue for people. What I wish would happen is just for them to re-release 6.1.2 and just label it as 6.1.4 or something as a temporary fix. Hopefully another discussion about this issue will prompt Apple into working faster on a fix, or at least acknowledge it and let people that have been affected know that a fix is coming very soon.

I have iphone 4S that is UNLOCKED. I noticed after upgrading to iOS 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 the battery is draining quickly. - I searched thru the Apple forum and internet and followed troubleshooting steps to dissable any settings and applications that might increased the battery usage. Still after all the troubleshooting, my iphone has battery drain issues. - I called Apple and talked to customer support. The guy did his best effort to solve the problem but the solutions that he provided me I have already done it. I sent him a system report of my iPhone and he told me that the iphone is operating fine. I asked him if there is a way that I can downgrade the iOS 5 and he told me that it is not possible. 1. Who has the same problem and found a solution? Please provide the solution?2. Has someone been able to downgrade to iOS 5? Please provide steps? Thanks

When you have ios 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 you can switch between using 3G or not, after you make the latest upgrade ios 6.1.3 you can not switch between 3G and not becouse you have LTE and i can not choise to use the Iphone on 2G. When my dad bought the phone he didn't ask questions he just gave it to me. Being a blackberry user he didn't know that there was a one year warranty and being my first iPhone I didn't know either - and rogers didn't tell us. I found out recently that after getting my phone fixed elsewhere twice due to a broken screen that I actually have the warranty. And the recent screen I got fixed is faulty, will Apple still fix it if I sent it to them even if some else fixed it.

Iphone 5 battery life great after ios 6.1.3 update
Hello Folks, Created this thread so that people know that not every iPhone 5 has a bad battery issue. I got the iPhone 5 32 GB Unlocked version last week and i was going through all the forums checking the battery issues people had since updating their iOS version. I saw that a lot of people have issues with their battery which put me on backfoot for upgrading the OS. Then too i took the leap of faith with the thought that it is "Apple!!" a premium brand.. And i am glad i did. Now i know a lot of people had issues with the ios 6.1.3 Upgrade. But for me it was smooth. When i got the phone i was by default on 6.0.2 and battery life was ok. It was les than ATT Galaxy S3 i had before as in they battery used to die in 14-16 hours which was not bad i would say. Since i upgraded, it was on 100% in the night at 12:30 AM. I woke up, and it was still 100%. So stand by battery is super awesome after the upgrade. As for the usage now, it is 4:30 PM here in NY and the battery is about 55%. The stats that i see is 17 hours stand by time and 6 hours usage. So i beleive my battery life is improved. Also my LTE is off as we dont have it in Long Island. In the night I was on Wifi, I am in office now and wifi is disabled, listened to an hour of music on spotify, notifications are off for all the useless apps, mail frequency is 1 hour, use whatsapp a lot. Thats it. So atleast for me, the upgrade was a beneifit. And the battery life has difinitely improved. PS: I have not created the thread to poke people with battery issues, just an FYI to people that not everyone is having battery issues. Peace....

Car bluetooth failed after recent OS 6.2 update iPhone 5
My car bluetooth (car is a BMW X5) has suddenly stopped working, immediately after my iPhone 5 updated its OS to 6.1. It all worked perfectly before the OS upgrade. Have re-paired it, re-set everything - no good. Any suggestions? What happens is - the phone pairs with the car stereo, the car stereo answers the phone - but there's no sound. Can't hear anything - on the car stereo, on the phone, nothing. And before anyone asks - yes, I am using it correctly, and the car is selected in the phone settings and when the call comes through. I used it successfully for months - until the latest OS upgrade... And then it stops. 6.0 was fine. Why would 6.1 fail? Why would the 6.1 upgrade cause this to happen? What have Apple changed in their bluetooth functionality for OS 6.1, that would make something that worked perfectly suddenly stop working after the 6.1 upgrade?? Why make these changes suddenly? Anyway, am very very annoyed. I need to answer my phone in the car, for goodness sake! Are you trying to make me get a blackberry or an Android device, Apple?
My iPhone 5 GPS not track location as closely as of my previous iPhone s
I've been using Nike+ GPS since it came out on my iPhone 3GS, then 4S, and now most recently my iPhone 5. I have been running the same route for years, but I noticed the iPhone 5 was recording a slightly shorter run (not much just about 0.05 to 0.1 mile). When I looked at the map view of my running route it was obvious that the iPhone 5 was not picking up the final few 100 feet of my run where I get to the end of the path and turn around to go back the same way. I compared it to the map records on Nike of the same route I've been running forever and those route traces clearly show the right end point compared other features on the map. So today I tried something else: I ran to the end point of my route and then paused my run and stood in place for 30 seconds and then restarted the run going back. This time when I got home the Nike+ route map showed exactly the right endpoint and the total mileage was correct. So it looks like Apple did something bad with the either the iPhone 5 GPS system probably to conserve battery life. It must only ping the location every X seconds, so if you are on a route and turn around it's going to miss the end point of your route unless you are lucky enough to hit that location at the same time the GPS pings. Note I'm quite sure I ran the most recent iOS on my iPhone 4S before upgrading phones so I don't think this is an iOS or Nike+ problem. I do not claim to understand the details of how the iPhone GPS calculates position (I think it is also supposed to use an accelerometer for error checking and refinement), but the iPhone 5 GPS location is clearly a downgrade from the iPhone 4S. Hello everyone.. I'm very confused here; I own an iPhone 5 which I have on O2. I bought it outright from the Apple Store in Belfast and just transferred my Business Sim to a Nano Sim and use that in the phone. I am going to the USA soon (Miami) to be a leader at a Summer Camp for 9 weeks and need to use my iPhone while I'm over there. I have been researching AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verzion all for prices, but I'm still very confused.. I want to call back to the UK for a low price, as well as use the web for whatsapp and FB messenger etc. Will not be texting back to the UK. I need to know the answer to these questions: 1. When I put my O2 sim into my iPhone (which was bought sim free) does it lock to O2?2. What carriers will support the UK iPhone 5 for LTE? Would like to try this feature out as Northern Ireland hasn't been hit with this yet (probaby never will until 2040 ffs) I understand Verzion will not work as it is CDMA.3. What carrier would be most suited for using in Miami? 4. What would the best price plan be (e.g. is there such thing as a Sim-Only monthly rolling contract or prepaid plans with only sim cards?) 6.1.2 Causing Picture receiving issues iPhone 5
SInce I upgraded to 6.1.2 (I had no issues previously, all was perfect in my iphone 5 world since I got it!!) my battery is draining like a sieve, it's down 2% in seconds and no apps opened, as well 2 of my friends, one with an iPhone 5 on SPrint like me and one with an iPhone 4s on AT&T cannot send me pictures. I get the texts but not the pics. My friend with a Galaxy SII on Sprint can send me pictures fine. What is going on? Anyone else seeing these issues? My iPhone 4S friend can send pictures to my iphone 5 SPrint friend just fine too. I can send pics to them and they receive them fine. I tried turning off/on and no change. Checked settings and everything is as it was before? I have LTE off since we do not have it in the Phoenix metro areas. (This was causing messaging delivery issues initially until I learned it should be off where you do not have it). Can I downgrade back to where I was in my old perfect world?
I have red x through an empty battery icon near top right of my screen. iPhone 4
When ever I search for a solution all the results that come up are for blackberry and I'm not sure if it means teh same thing on iOS. The icon looks like an upright battery that has been drained and there is a small red x in the lower left of the icon. I've reset my phone, respringed the springboard, and plugged and unplugged it multiple times. The phone says its charging and nothing seems wrong so far, but the icon wont go away.

Well, this battery drain issue is coming from iOS 6.1 to me and it seems that it is common on almost every iPhone model (4, 4S, 5, etc). It maybe not the iOS itself, perhaps from this version, the iOS gives some opportunity to some Apps to do some stuff in the background that kills battery. Some of us have this kind of apps and having battery problem, other don’t. My iPhone battery was good prior to iOS 6.1, with 5 hours of usage and even up to 5 days on standby! After upgrade to 6.1, it loses 2~3% battery every hour on standby and only lasts for 1 or 2 hours of usage before dead. It is not as bad as some who lose 10% of battery every hour on standby, but to me, the battery life has reduced to one quarter of past.I am sure Apple is working on it and iOS 6.1.2 seems to be an urgent upgrade to solve, but I knew it won't solve my problem, because I don’t use the Exchange account and the update aimed to solve that issue.I think the best solution is that the Apple gives us the choice to downgrade to iOS 6.0 until the next stable version is ready to go. This solution will give the Apple the time to find and solve the problem and gives us our phones back to use.
iphone 4s keeps losing contacts and needing to redownload from icloud
Dear all, Ever since I upgraded my iphone 4s to iOS6 (which apparently in many aspects is a bad decision), I discover my contacts are emptied from time to time. It is apparent in occasions when there are apps needing to access the contact list (with instant messenging apps like whatsapp, Line etc, or even the Contacts App itself), and once the disappearing happens, I need to wait the contact list updates (downloads) itself with the entries from iCloud. I also believe the same happened in the background when I do not notice it, because I usually set different ringtones for certain people in my contact list, when the list goes empty and is filled again back from icloud, I will lose all ringtone settings. So I believe this irritating bug must be happening few times everyday sometimes without me noticing. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same thing, and would like to see if Apple would be able to do something about it. This is annoying because if I input a new contact on my phone through the contact app, when this bug happens, I will definitely lose the newly added entries. So to be safe, now when I need to add a new contact, I have to do it on a computer, accessing icloud.com and add directly to the icloud records. It's the first problem I experienced with my iphone for the years I have used the iphone products, but is also a critically fatal one...
