For the past two weeks I have been getting terrible battery life. This morning my battery charge dropped from 100% to 90% in 2 hours. I have tried double pressing and turning off apps, but that hasn't helped. How do I determine what is using up the battery?

I just downloaded the Find my iphone app to my Windows 7 PC.  Where did it go and how do I launch it to locate my iphone 4?  I see the file Find iphone 2.0.2.ipa in my Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications directory but nothing happens when I double click it.

Is it safe to double tap home screen. Hold down icon till it wiggles, and then tap on red minus to shut down an app? I was told by a tech at store this wasn't good? Yet others say it is. I don't want to stress out my phone.  What's the best solution?

Need someone with Apple knowledge iphone 5

Just been to the Apple Store in Stratford, London to get my iphone 5 replaced as the sleep wake button stopped responding. I was in and out and i was done. The member of staff who served me seemed very rushed and i didn't have his full attention so when we were going through the process it was a bit more unpleasant than usual. My concern is, when he asked me to erase my phone, i by mistake erased all my settings, rather than erasing all my content and data and due to his rushed manor i didn't get a chance to double check, then my old phone was in a box and under the counter. I didn't realise this had happened till i was on my way home, can anyone tell me that my phones content will be erased? as i dont particulirly want some apple repair guys prank calling all mny contacts, if anyone could reasure me with this, that would be great and put my mind at rest.  I did try and erasing it through find my iphone app but of course the sim card needed to be in the phone for it to connect to the internet.  Thanks, any help would be very much appreciated! Sam D

Location Services Won t Turn Off iphone 3G

I have an app Shop Kick and for some reason today the location services on the app will not shutoff (I have the location arrow on the top right and when I go to settings location servies the arrow is purple next to shop kick app).  I have had this app now for 2 years and the location service has never continued to run on the app.  I tried doing to double home screen tap and killed the app but it according to my phone it's still using location service even after I killed the app.  I then tried to turn off/on my phone but still even after powering on/off it's still claiming to use location service.  What's going on?

Why doesn t Apple make it possible to deactivate Voice Control iphone 3G

Voice control is really annoying. I really wish I could turn it off. But I can't. Supposedly I can turn off some of the things voice control does (with limited success) but I can't disable it completely even though I really want to. Really. And a lot of other people want to, too, if the forums are anything to go by.  Problems include:- Accidental activation (yes, triple click home is turned off, and yes I have a passcode)- Accidental calling people. The last time this happened I was asleep and I must have accidentally leant on my phone. Somehow it interpreted my breathing as "Facetime (friend's name)". That person lives in another country. It was the middle of the night. Could apple please reinburse me for this ridiculous nighttime overseas call? I also discovered that disabling voice calling with the passcode option doesn't disable facetime. Why not?- Accidentally playing music. This is really awkward especially in quiet serious places when your pocket or handbag starts to sing. There is NO WAY to stop this happening. My phone is on silent!! Still, voice control makes the beep beep noise and plays music when some accidental pressure touches the button. Last time was during a work meeting. If I get fired because of apple...- It hears things I don't say, and doesn't understand what I do say. To the best of my knowledge, I don't say "Facetime (complicated Indian name)" in my sleep. Seriously. But "Next song" should be simple enough! ATTENTION APPLE SOFTWARE ENGINEERS!! Please make an "off" option!! Surely it is a simple thing that will make millions happy. There are a LOT of discussions on the Support Communities about this. Please do something about it. There is a very simple solution, whereby people can choose if Voice Control is something they want to use or not. Please. Pretty please with sugar on top.

HomeLock button stopped working iphone 4S

My iphone 4s said I was running low on storage, so.. I went to settings>general>usage and began to delete the apps that took up unnecesssary space.. Then I tried to return to my home screen, but my physical and assistive touch home buttons and my lock button did absolutely nothing. I know that it is not a hardware malfuction as when I double click my home button I get zoom/assistive touch options.Im worried that this is a consequence of deleting something I shouldnt have. I am now stuck on my settings page and although I can maneuver around it perfectly fine.. Please help!!

Problem with iphone 4S-loaner phone after updated through Itunes has same problem. Whats up.

After updating my phone (or backing up through Icloud) it doesn't function properly very difficult to use, scroll doesnt work, there is a voice over for every function that I try, double click is necessary for accessing anything.....  Got a loaner phone while my new phone was on order- update loaner phone through Itunes and backed up through ICloud and now the same problem is back after restoring the phone from my old one.  It seems like a setting change or software problem, I'm not certain if the problem started when I downloaded the new version of IOS6.  I was seeing a few problems before this I believe, phone wasn't always ringing and I was missing calls when I had service and the phone was with me.  Any ideas of what I can do to prevent this problem form happening next time I connect my phone and retore.  New phone is in my possession, I'm going to wait untill get some feedback before I try and restore the phone..Any advice would be appreciated

Everybody, if you want a simple n definite solution for 3G usage, here's the method.According to apple, 8 hours on 3G usage. I believe the term of usage means actively browsing or anything that keeps your 3G sending n receiving data.Here's the simple way to test the result. double tap home button, end all task.Have your 3G on, u may use safari or Facebook to do the test, if FB, just keep scrolling down and keep de data run. Same goes to safari, continuously surfing and see how many % drops. I've run through this test with all i5 user regardless ios 6.0.1 to 6.1And the result was 1% drop every 2min +/-Simple math - lets make it 3 min so 100% x 3min = 300 min so approximately 5 hours 30min or so.Having said that, it was 5hrs usage, not including 3G on in standby mode.In 6.0.1 the 3G in standby mode is fine, I don't get to notice the battery drop everytime I unlock de phone for useBut in 6.1, so far I tested was the battery drop 1% every 6min in standby mode. As for the wifi, it does fix the sudden network drop but the poor coverage remain. Hi, is anyone experiencing no sound control since the upgrade? I no longer have use of the sound radio buttons on the left side of the phone for music or audio playback, nor is there any audio "slider" on the screen in video or audio mode anymore. Even when I double-press the home button when the phone is locked, I am only left with a play button and skip forward/back buttons!  Once in a while, in locked mode it appears intermittently like a flicker, but that's it.  This is SO frustrating!!!  As far a as a media device, my iphone has been reduced to a brick! If anyone from Apple is reading, the battery usage has also gone through the roof.  In the last five minutes, I've gone from 53 to 47 percent despite closing all background programs and having the screen off.

How can i change gestures needed when voice over on iphone 5

On the iphone 5 I've turned on the Voice Over setting, so my nephew who has CP and is physically challenged can hear the posts in fb and texts. The problem he's having is with doing the double tap fast enough and using three fingers to scroll. He doesn't have the fine motor dexterity to make it work and he is getting very frustrated. He was so excited to finally hear the texts instead of someone reading them to him. I tried to set the physical motor setting, but it didn't work for fb. Any suggestions or experience with this issue you would kindly share would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Unable to connect to wireless Network iphone 5

I just bought the iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network.   Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the iphone 5  From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks.  Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident.  Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap.  This issue is also not localized to the iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4

home button problems on iphone 5

The home button on my ip5 is consistently inconsistent.  Sometimes there is no respones from depressing it. Sometimes a single press behaves like a double press.  I've tried the recalibration procedure but seemed to have no effect.  Is there any information from the company about the source of this problem or resolution?

iOS6 Bugs iphone 4

Been having a few issues with iOS6, First: Earbud headphones - The middle select button on the earbuds is now no longer working. I can press it once to start music or open up voice activation. But I can no longer double click to change tracks. Its not an issue with the earbuds as i have tested them on an iOS5 device. Volume control works fine. Second: Music controls on the lock screen do not work. I can double click the home button and the controls apear but pressing play does NOTHING! also double taping the home button once the screen is unlocked and swiping to the right to get up itunes controls, pressing play there also does nothing. I have to go into the music app to control my music......annoying when its in my pocket an i want to control it! Also when locking the screen the album artwork is no longer displayed as the background image. is anyone else getting these issues??? HELP!!!!!

Loading issues after 6.0.2 update iphone 5

Has anyone else have this issue after the latest update? When I try to open a app (even happened when trying to look at About in the General/Settings) It gets stuck loading and doesn't open. I have closed the app and reopened, double clicked the home button to close it in the background; several times a day I am having to rest my phone and even retored it, which helped for a day. So far no battery issue. Since getting the 5 it drains faster than my 4s and I've just dealt with it. One other issue that I noticed a few others have is my camera (? shutter) froze after taking a picture, didn't save it to camera roll then crashed.

I noticed that my "other" capacity (orange bar) was at 5.3 GB when looked at in iTunes. I cleaned off many of my apps and data, even going so far as to delete text messages and old voice mail. the "other" remained the same size. I read several blogs which mentioned this problems and said the only solution was to restore the phone. I have done that, and was surprised to find that when it was over the "other" capacity DOUBLED to over 10 GB.I have nothing on my phone at this point except 60 contacts and the basic apps that come with the phone. What is going on?

App updates not showing in App Store iphone 3G

Ever since I updated my iphone 4S to iOS 6, the App Store has not been showing updates properly.  Periodically, it will show a badge indicating that there are updates for apps available.  But when I open the App Store, I see this: If I tap on another tab, like Charts or Featured, and then come back to Updates, it still says all apps are up to date.  I have to force quit the App Store app (double tap Home button, tap and hold on App Store icon then tap the minus sign, then hit the Home button again) and then open it again in order to see this:  A similar thing also happens sometimes when there is no badge, but I decide to go in to the App Store to manually check for an update.  It will show no badge on the Updates tab, and the main screen says all apps are up to date.  But when I force quit App Store, and open it again, it will show updates are available. Prior to iOS 6, we could tap on the Updates button and it would force a refresh and check for updates again.  That no longer seems to be the case.  That in addition to it intermittently or incorrectly showing updates makes it difficult to know if app updates are actually available. Is this just my iphone or is anyone else experiencing something similar?  Either way, does anybody have a solution?

I live in the UK. I currently own an iphone 4S, I'm on contract with T-Mobile so I wish to keep my contract running. The prices for apple products in the UK are unbelievably high. I was wondering if it would be possible to pay for an iphone 5 and and iPad mini with the US prices and have it shipped over to the UK? As this would be a cheaper alternative. iphone 4S overheating on iOS 6.0.1.

I've had my iphone for approx 2-3 days now and whe I got it, I installed iOS 6.0.1. immediately, everything was fine, my battery life is quite good when not using 3G but WiFi instead. However, after a day of having the iphone 4S, in the evening I went onto my camera and took a picture, my screen went black and RGB lines went through it and flickered back onto normal screen again. I've noticed it's becoming increasingly hot when I'm only running 2 apps (cos i force shut down apps by double clicking home) last night it actually burnt my hand, like a scold. i couldn't touch it because it just overheated so much it was too hot to touch. I don't know whether to go back to TMobile where I got the phone from or go into an Apple shop. My mother even says that I need to send it off. But I've been reading forum topics about it and apparently it's been happening to alot of people with 4/4S on iOS 6.

How to tell history of apps run usage on iphone

How can I tell what apps were run recently on my iphone.  Idea is to double check child's use of apps (both type and if possible length of time used).This is an issue when phone access is to be granted, but trust has been shattered in the past and we are re-building it with child ... :-(Of course, one way to control app use is to just delete the app (at least there's still control of the Apple ID)!  The child already knows how to close apps (double hitting home button then shutting down icons). On desktop you can run Terminap app and then command "last" to see usage of computer in general (and under Settings -> Users you can get a log of apps used, I think).  Looking for similar on iphone. iPad too ... but that might be same as desktop - have to check. Native or 3rd party ... happy to pay! This is not just a website surfing issue.  Apps in general.

Can someone help My iphone 4S apps wiggle but won't close

Anybody out there have any idea why -- after a IOS6 update (6.0.1) -- that my wife can't close apps on her iphone 4S? When you double click the home button to see which apps are active and then you hold one down, they all wiggle and you see the red dash button, which normally allows you to close out the apps you don't want. But hers keep wiggling and won't let you close them out. You press the red dash and nothing happens. Her mail won't shut down. Her Safari. Other apps she downloaded from iTunes, such as games and Twitter, won't shut down. Notes, messages, whatever. None of them will shut down. Her battery keeps draining. Help! We'd appreciate any assistance anyone can provide.

I activated something by mistake on my iphone 4 tonight and now i cannot deactivate it. Something to do with voice controls i believe. Its under the settings and now whenver i want to type a text or do anything on my phone i have to tap the screen 3xs to activate the icon. I cannot even scroll down on a page. Hi all, I am trying to add my add my apple Id (email address) in order for me to send and receive iMessage. But when ever I am prompted for user name nd password of my apple Id , I get a message saying that my username or password is incorrect.  I have double checked my user name and password. Infant I use it fine in app store and to log in here on the web. But the problem is when using iMessage. Side switch on side of iphone 4

The side switch on the side of my iphone 4 controls my screen orientation like on an iPad and the only way I can switch between ringer or vibrate is double tap the home button slide it right and turn the mute button on and off. I recently updated to iOS 6 and didn't notice it till them. Please help. It gets aggravating to have to go through the process I do to turn it on and off.

Text messages not delivered but are in fact going through iphone 3G

I have an iphone 5. On or about Sept. 28th, I started to notice that for some of my text messages (to be Android and other iphone users) were displaying the message, "delivery failed". So I'd resend. As it turns out, even though my phone was saying "delivery failed", the texts were indeed going through. Those whom I texted informed me that they were getting double messages from me. This meant they were getting the original msg that displayed the "delivery failure" notice AND the resend. So to test this out, I did some texting to different people until I got the "delivery failure" notice, but I didn't resend. And sure enough, they were in fact getting the texts even though the phone said "delivery failure". Anyone else experiencing this? I'm assuming since they are in fact going through, it may not be a carrier issue, but a phone issue.

Email text size suddenly very small uncontrolled font change iphone

Without warning, the text of incoming emails is suddenly very small.  The body of text is crowded into the left side of the screen.  And, old emails in the inbox are exhibiting the same behavior.  If you double tap the text, it resizes to fill the screen, but you shouldn't have to double tap every message to get it to read properly.  I have tried accessibility function and increased the font size, but that has not helped.  Reading email in landscape helps.   I recently turned on iCloud but then turned it off with respect to emails.  Cannot figure out why this is suddenly happening.   Help.

Texting typing issues with my iphone 4

Hi.  I just noticed a problem with texting from my iphone 4.  As I type, the letters that appear are randomly correct and incorrect.  It starts new lines, puts periods where I didn't (not after double spacing) and just enters random letters, capitalized and not.  I can get it to type the correct letter about 1 in 5 tries, but it will then type in sometimes 5 letters that I didn't type and when I try to backspace, sometimes it lets me, sometimes not.  I checked to see if there were any problems writing an email but there weren't.  Any ideas why this is happening?  I have it in an Otterbox but it has been dropped a few times.  Do you think it finally started getting brain damage?

My wife and I received our iphone 5's just 3-days ago and we love them so far. The problem is as follows: On my iphone, when I search the App Store, I get results and am able to view them.On her iphone, when I search the App Store, I get suggestions, but nothing loads. I cannot receive e-mail on my iphone 4 or iPad 3 after upgrading to iOS 6. I have done ALL of the following: -Turned off and on- Made sure I had the most up to date software on both- I CAN send e-mail, but not receive it.- My wi-fi IS working- Sent test messages OUT, but don't receive.double checked it did go via online- Cleared settings/History/cookies, etc. - Deleted the e-mail account and added it back in.  Didn't work. ANY help is appreciated. Thanks!
