iphone 5 issues hopefully have an easy solution. advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got the iphone 5 about 6 months ago and have had wifi reception problems the entire time. I spend most of my time in my entertainment room (studio) which is on the opposite end of the house from the router. I have an imac, an apple tv2, an ipad, and (2) iphone 4 all using the same wifi and housed in this same room. They all have no problem picking up the signal and staying connected. My wife and her son both have iphone 4S and never lose connection when they are in my room. It's very frustrating because I was so excited about being able to mirror my phone through the apple tv and hd tv. I own an AT&T iphone 4 and a Verizon iphone 4 that aren't capable of mirroring. I have the original ipad which isn't capable of mirroring. My wife's 4S and her son's 4S are both capable and do it with ease but it's their phones, not mine. So I stayed patient knowing I would get the next upgrade and it was just a matter of time. Wrong. Between 5 phones, a desktop, a tablet, apple tv, PS3......My iphone 5 was the only one that won't connect. I am not talking about it loses the signal or cuts in and out, I am saying you have to walk halfway down the hall to even get it to detect the signal in the first place. Not a chance in **** of it actually staying connected to it.  I talked to Apple Support about the problem and asked if the iphone 5 had a weaker antenna or if there was a setting that needed to be adjusted. They were polite to me but in so many words let me know that my assessment was ridiculous and news to them. Well okay, no big deal, I just chalked it up as that maybe I got a dud this time as far as the antenna goes. Then, about a week ago, I dropped the phone and shattered the front glass and lcd. Luckily I had insurance and was able to get a brand new replacement. The problem is the antenna reception is exactly the same. So this was not an isolated incident and I wasn't crazy for asking about it. I don't see how they haven't received tons of complaints about this issue. I love Apple products and probably just expect perfection because I have never had any major problems with any of my Apple devices. But it is an unpleasant surprise that the newer model takes several steps back on such an important feature. Sorry for the rant and I remain positive that this issue can be addressed, if it hasn't already. P.S.....The iphone 5 that I got two days ago has an awesome new feature. If you are using the phone for an actual phone call, the person you are talking to can't be heard whatsoever. If you can get them to talk really loudly and repeat themselves at least three times, you will have a greater chance of comprehending the purpose of the call.

HelloMy son has typed in my passcode wrong on my iPhone 5 and it says 'iPhone disabled please connect to iTunes'I had rung O2, and they said that the only thing they can do is do a restore on the phone but then everything will be deletedI'm not bothered about the apps getting deleted, it's the photos and videos I am most worried about because they are of my 4 month old daughter since birth and these are the only photos that I have of her. I have only sent around 20 photos to family and friends so if I lose all these photos on my phone then I will only have 20. There are over 2000 pictures of her on my phone so I really really need to get them back I don't have iTunes, I have never downloaded it or anything. I have always taken my pictures off just by plugging my phone into the computer, going to My Computer and copy and pasting them like that but I have not done this in 2 months and there are so many photos and videos that will be lost.I downloaded iTunes, logged in using my email and password but every time I connect my phone it keeps saying for me to put my password in on the phone but the numbers aren't on the phone screen.Is there any way I can get my photos back?Can Apple get them back for me?Please help

I bought it in January. I just can't believe that my iPhone wil not synchronize with my iTunes anymore. And every time the battery gets low, i will have to turn it off and wait it to be full charged, so i can start to use again. Does anyone here had the same problem??

The problem I am having is that my iPhone 5 will connect to my wifi at home but won't connect to my wifi at work. Everyone else can connect at work with no problem with their iPhone 4,4s,android phones and iPads.The network I am trying to connect to is a secret network that I have to manually search for it and input a password. I don't have trouble finding the network the issues I'm having is whenever I put the password in it will say wrong password 10times in a row then it might connect for about 10min then it will disconnect itself and when I try to connect again it will either say wrong password or unable to connect to wifi!!!!! Please help I need wifi at work since I am there more than I'm home.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. Over the last 4 months or so, my iPhone4's download rate has progressivly slowed. WiFi is still working fine, but cellular data was noticably lagging with missed texts, slow applications, and generally slow browsing. Since then I have switched carriers twice thinking it was a problem with cellular service provider, but to no avail. This last week I have had no ability to connect to my service provider's data network, evident because that little '3G' icon at the top no longer appears in any part of the city I visit. I removed the protective case around the iPhone thinking it could be an antennae issue, but no, still not working. Paranoid, I even checked to see that cellular 3G is turned on in the device settings; it is, and I felt stupid for even doubting that it wasnt.  Is it normal for a cellular phone's hardware to degrade? Could there be an enviornmental factor i'm not seeing?

iPhone won't turn back on

Hi, so last week my phone suddenly turnt off. An hour later I could turn it back on, but then the next day the exact same problem and I couldn't turn it on. About 20 hours later and 5 programs I had fixed it. Then now, its 'died' on me again.  Firstly, I have 100% battery. Connecting to my docking system turns it on but brings up the set up page (connect to iTunes on first use) It isn't recognised when plugged into the wall, I've used threee different wires and different wall adapters. iTunes can't restore it as half way through my phone cuts out and then iTunes can't find it. I don't touch my phone whilst connected so it's an internal issue there.  I have tried other progams and they don't recognise my iPhone either.  Could it be the battery? Should I replace it? Or could it just be loose? It's 2 years old, so yeah I need a new phone. But I currently can't afford to replace it, so I need as much help into getting this one working for now! Ha Ha Also, it's the iPhone 4 and it isn't water damaged.

iPhone won't charge problems connecting to USB iPhone 5

Just recently, I've been experiencing problems with my iPhone 5. I regularly charge it by connecting it via USB to my computer. However, over the past few days when I attempt to do this, I am spammed with this warning message: "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled." Additionally, whenever I attempt to plug my phone into a wall outlet to charge, it will connect/charge and then immediately disconnect. I was hoping someone could lead me in the correct direction to resolve this problem so I can efficiently charge my iPhone. Thanks.

Iphone 4 can't connect to carrier

I have an Iphone4 that was dropped in the water.  I took it apart and cleaned it with alcohol and everything is working..... except it will not connect to a carrier.  I can use the wifi but not it wont connect to any carrier.  Please help!!!  Is there a part I need to replace?  Thanks for any help you can give.

I tried to update my iPhones IOS and when I did, it said that I needed to restore my iPhone, so I did, or I tried. When I went to restore it, it worked for a little while, then stopped and pulled up a error that says "there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone, " iPhone " . An unknown network error occurred (9006). I have searched everywhere for a solution to my problem, to find no solution. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, turning in off firewalls, virus protectors, etc. I am very desperate to fix this problem because my iphone is a paperweight until this problem is resolved, please help me!  

vodafone issues iPhone 4S

Hi all,  i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

Hi all.Had my iPhone 4s for about a year.  For the last few days I've had to turn it off and turn back on in order to make or receive phone calls (Call Failed message).  It then works fine for a while.  Receive texts (telling me I've missed a call), send texts, connect to internet etc no problem.Any ideas?

I have been having trouble with my iPhone - sudden decrease in battery life, apps not working, Wifi not working, iCloud not working (don't ask me why, but when I go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and back up, the toggle is off and greyed out, giving me no option to turn it on). I was advised to back the iPhone up on my mac, reset the iPhone to factory settings and then restore it from the Mac.  So, all my apps have come over, but none of my contacts, SMS's, nothing. I can probably live without the SMS's but it will take me a long time to re-enter all my contacts.  However, they are all still in the Mac.  But I can't work out how to get the Mac to send the addresses back to the iPhone.   As previously stated, the iCloud doesn't work, so I can't use that.  I looked through previous entries and the advice was: Open iTunes. connect the iPhone. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the Info tab in the main window. Check the Contacts box then sync. However, when I do this it say in contacts "your contacts are being synched with your iPhone over the air, over-the-air sync settings can be changed on the iPhone" But I don't want them synched over the air, because over the air (I assume this is iCloud) isn't working.  How do I set it (either iTunes or the iPhone) so that it synches, via USB cable, with the contacts on my Mac? I am totally, utterly confused and a bit cross as I am now worse off then before I reset the phone and was told that it would just back up from the computer.  And even more annoyed when I know the data I want is all still there (on the Mac in address book), I just can't drag it across.

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

Iphone 5 ios 6.1.4 password was entered incorrectly too many times. Now the iphone is disabled, state it needs connected to iTunes. Itunes state the iphone password must be entered on the iphone before it can connect to Itues. I can't do a firmware restore since the power button apparently is also disabled on 6.1.4 once the iphone is disabled. Looks like a loop and I can't get into the iphone.

My phone will not connect to itunes long enough to get it to reset.  Is there any special key combination that I can use to brick the phone so that I can start from scratch, but without connecting to itunes?   The phone will not restart and stay on.  It just continues to go on and off on and off.  I get the apple logo, then to the home screen, but the slide to open bar does not glow, and then it just shuts off and starts over.  It never is on long enough to register with the computer.   I have tried both reset techniques.  neither works.  (holding down home key and on/off key until i see the apple logo, or holding down just the on/off key(never see the power bar).   I have an appointment, but would rather not go into the store.  If there is another way to brick the phone, I could then restore from backup.   Thanks!

Okkay so ever since a few weeks ago my iPhone 5 stopped connecting to new WIFI networks... I didn't really see it as a big deal until my friends were all connected to the same wifi and my iPhone couldn't (Correct password and EVERYTHING).. and right now i'm at my dad's house and his iphone 5 is connected to the WIFI but mine isn't.. idk *** is going on but i'm starting to become ****** with apple.. I've seen hundreds of post on the internet about this and it seems like nothing is being done about it..?! DATA ISN'T UNLIMMITTED UNDER MY PLAN!!!!! I should NOT be responsible for this bill when I could be fine connected to wifi networks........ And now it's to the points where my device is having me relog into any social netowrks that i try logging into (Twitter.. Vine.. etc.).. WHY?!!? AND NOW I can't even connect to blue tooth devices that all my friends on iPhone 4's are connected too... *** IS THE PROBLE AND WHY IS THERE NO ANSWER TO THIS?!?!?! i put on a password for my phone and after i saved the password i made sure i knew it so i retried the password and it worked so i left my phone then when i came back it wouldnt accept my password and so nect thing you know my phone tells me iphone disabled connect to itunes so i took my phone usb connected it to the computer and now itunes is telling me that it recognizes that the phone has a password and that in order to use itunes with my phone connected to the computer i need to put in my password which i cant so now i dont know what to do

iPhone 5 Certain phone number calls not go through

Messaging, facetime, and emailing works fine. Only certain phone calls (certain numbers) do not go through. Often requires I dial the same number multiple times (>8 times) and call may go through. The other end has no problem calling me. Sometimes the other end registers a missed call or a short ringing but I cannot hear the ringing on my end. The phone starts counting the seconds as if the call has been placed but no connection is actually made (it does not connect with the other end's voicemail either.

hey my iphone 4 has recently had wifi problems. i cant fidn any networks at all. the router is fine because every other device i own runs on wifi and its working. but the wierd part is that if my phone is 1 inch away from the router it will find it and connect! but tghen if i move my phone 2 feet away from the router cannot find any networks again.  i have reset the phone all the wifi settings the lot! i have also restored the phone still not working! i have also manually tried connecting too.  someone please help!

iphone 4 wifi has gone really low you think its problem with antena

So basically my iphone struggles to connect to any wifi; this started happening 2 weekends ago. I used to be able to find other wifis like mine ,BTfon, virgin,etc and other peoples too, now it struggles to connect to or find my own one at home, so what i did was changed the sky channel to 11 ( if youre sky broadband then 11 its the best channel just saying) my connection is a bit better now to my broadband but when i go upstairs my wifi is really low and sometimes i end up by losing it and i still can find others, do you think it might be cos of the antena ?

My iPhone 4s will not connect to any charger I've tried in the last two days EXCEPT my Sony dock at home, but then only after 3 or 4 tries to get it to connect. I have multiple iPhone charging cables, and I've tried them all.  I've tried them plugged into the wall and my MacBook. I can't get any of them to connect. At this point I can't even sync or backup to iTunes because the device is not recognized. Any suggestions?

Hello! I just unlocked my iPhone 4 via AT&T's unlocking service. It's been a few days and the process should be complete by now. I'm going to be using the phone in the UK with a UK SIM; do I have to wait until I'm there and have the new UK SIM to process the unlock? Or could I use a SIM in the US but not the one I'll eventually be using for it?
