long story short - went on a 15 mile bike ride with my iphone 4 stuck into my sportsbra - took it out to wipe it every so often, but moisture did get trapped in the case. Anyways, after the bike ride I went to Starbucks, phone was working fine. Pull phone out 2 minutes later - it has shut off. Nothing. Held home screen and lock button together, etc, nothing. Plugged into charger, nothing. I immediately ran to CVS, got rice, phone is in a cup of rice submerged as we speak. Am I screwed/should i go order a refurbished iPhone at the Apple store tomorrow? Or will I maybe be in luck with leaving it in the rice overnight/until Friday? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Why are my notification on my iphone 5 so horrible

My iphone 5 has always been horrible in receiving any notification. I get no notification from any application or even the stock application. This is frustrating when I need these notification for my user experience. This mainly has to do with notification coming on my lock-screen. Facebook, instragram, and many other application gives no notification on my lockscreen and no sound to indicate any news. This is a problem that I've experience for a long time and its very bothering to see no notification pop up or sound. I've used to really enjoy apple before this issue. I used to believe it was just software issues but after the many updates, nothing was done to change this problem. At this point I am not satisfied with the product and how it performs.

My camera frozen iPhone 4

Have tried restore on iTunes and restore to new on phone.   The issue is not changing even with that.  Happened about a month ago and haven't been able to get it to work since. As soon as I click on camera, whatever the camera is facing is what it is frozen on.   Sometimes the shutter won't even open and the video does not work either.  None of the apps that you can take a picture with work either like Instagram, pict stich etc. Not sure what else to do. seberia8

I got my first iPhone as a gift the other day (32GB iPhone 5 from Verizon). However, the camera app on it does not work. When I launch it, either the closed shutter is displayed, or the screen is completely black and none of the "buttons" (i. e. Options and switching between front and rear cameras) work. I have tried completely closing out of the app and doing a restore of my iPhone through iTunes, but it still does not work. I have a case, but the lens is completely visible. Any help would be appreciated!

Greetings.  Trying to set up new iphone 5.  Backed up iphone 4 (old phone) with icloud.  In going through the set up process with iphone 5 (new phone) I am stuck at the "choose backup".  It is not allowing me to select the most recent back up because "No iCloud backups are compatible with the versin of IOS (6.0.1) on this iPhone).  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

iPhone 5 won't wake up from sleepstandby

Hello, I am having a really strange problem with my iphone 5 for last 3-4 months. Sometime when i want to use my iphone from standby/sleep mode it dosent do anything! sleep/wake button, home button even silent/sound button dosent work. I know the silent/sound button dosen't work cause normally it vibrate when I turn it on. So the problem is my phone wont wake up from sleep/standby mode. The screen stays black and nothing works. If i press the home button and power button for 10-15 time very quickly, then it takes a screen shot and wakes up!! Sometime it stays in this stage for 5-10min. So here is what i did to solve the problem.1. I restore the phone from phone and ituens.2. I delete all icloud backup and started as a new phone3. I went to apple store and replace the phone with a new one!!4. I jailbreak it at last to see if it solve the problem!5. turn off the icloud to see if it works And sadly nothing of all this solved my problem! Now im not sure any specific app causing the problem but it almost impossible to find it out. So if anyone have any similar problem or any suggestion to solve it, then it will be really helpful.

Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a Iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone.     1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker          they can hear me fine.     2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset.     3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.

Backup Issues Deleting Other Files iPhone 4S

I recently replaced my iphone screen and afterwards I discovered that my camera roll had crashed. With it, I lost all of my pictures and videos. Luckily, I recovered them from a program that I had downloaded. However, the storage that used to take up my photos and videos on my phone had transfered to the "other" section on itunes. Is the only way to remove/decrease the storage of the "other" file by restoring your iphone? I don't want to restore my iphone because I am also having issues with backing up my phone. Whenever I try to back it up on itunes, it says "the backup was corrupt or not compatable with the iphone". My phone has never been backed up because of this issue, so if I were to restore my phone then all off my files would be deleted. I have tried reseting my phone, but the "other" section is unchanged. Is there anyway I can delete the corrupt files on my phone? I have tried removing all pictures, videos, apps, and music in an attempt to discover the source of the corrupt files but I haven't found them. Also, if I was to "restore backup" with my iphone from my ipad, would that mean losing my messages?

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iPhone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iPhone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iPhone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iPhone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

iPhone 4s Wifi problem, After using the device of 7 month. wifi is not working. BEFORE WAS WORKING FINE and now wifi is not able to identify. iPhone 4s stuck in recovery mode. Error code-1 .

I recently bought my iPhone 4s from a guy (who bought it from someone else). He sold it to me pretty cheap because when he bought it, one of his friends tried to restore it for him and it got stuck in recovery mode. I have no idea if the phone has ever been "tampered with" or not. He didn't seem to know much about it (said it was his first smartphone) and I thought I might have a chance of fixing it. I'm starting to lose faith in that...I've tried almost everything I can find. I know there are tricks for this all over the internet and I've tried almost all of them. TinyUmbrella does nothing, Redsn0w won't even install on my computer (frustrating!). Trying to restore from iTunes is useless. It gets to about 90% then comes up with error code (-1) and gives up. I've tried that route probably 20 times with no change. I know I could take it into Apple and they could look at it, but I have no information on the phone itself. I cannot get the serial number. does anyone have any suggestions at all? I'll try anything that doesn't require me taking it to Apple and getting charged more than I paid for the phone to fix it....I run Windows 7. Thanks so much!

I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. way to factory restore on my phone but only restore my text and imessage back onto phone iPhone 5

My iPhone 5 battery drains a lot. After 42 minutes of usage, and 5 hours of standby it drops to 89%. I'm just wondering if thats normal. I was wondering, if theres a way I can completely restore my iphone. Like restore nothing back onto it, only my text messages and imessages cause those are really important.

My IPhone wont turn on after updating

My Iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

Iphone 5 keeps turning itself off

Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up.  When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris

iPhone images won t restore after phone reset

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iPhone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iPhone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space.  Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iPhone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iPhone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad

My iphone has literally no storage left, when I plugged it into Itunes it said 10.9 GB were occupied by "other" what is other? i have 6 apps, no music, and 32 pictures and my storage is almost full. I'm wondering if anyone has come across the same problem as me and I don't know what to do to fix it. I had to delete basically everything off my phone because of the 10.9 GB other is taking up. I didn't know if I should restore my phone and set it up as a new iphone. Please help!

iPhone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

My iphone was last used yesterday, it ran out of battery. when i tried to turn it on today it displayed an iphone USB plug and itunes logo indicating to plug in and log on to itunes which i have done but itunes says it cannot be restored due to error 21Can anyone help me please???

Trouble Restoring iPhone iPhone 4S

I am having trouble restoring my iPhone. When I try to restore it, it says I need to update my iPhone first but I have already done so and my iPhone says it is currently up to date. I also just try and dowload the update again to just try it and it comes up with an error and won't finish everytime. Help please!Also- another question, my iPhone will never finish syncing but will back up the phone. Just says "Waiting for changes to be applied."
