SOUND BAR SUDDENLY DISSAPEAR iPhone 4

It looks like a very common problem but I need a solution. I have an iPhone 4 GSM and some times the sound bar dissapear and the only sound I can hear is the ring tone. Non the messages tone, sound on videos, music, keyboard clicks or the block/unblock sounds are available. I been told that the porblem is caused by an error on a file named:  com.apple.iapd.plist  is there a way to fix or repair this file? I will appreciate any help you can provide.

october 1st i bought a iphone 5 on vodafone contract. The phone was extremley fun and easy to use and was completley new i was happy i switched from my galaxy ace. Then a couple of weeks back i lost my iphone so i phoned vodafone and got it blocked along with the sim. Then i found it and i asked vodafone to unblock and send me a new sim (because while taking it out i accidently damaged it) so they unblocked it and sent a new sim i had this sim activated and put in my iphone i waited 24 hours for it to be activated after 24 hours i had no bars i couldnt call or text but i could surf the web without wifi so i phoned them again and they sent another sim i inserted and waited 24 hours same problem. I know it is a hardware issue does my warranty cover this ??? Does anyone else have this problem

HEY!i just figured it out 5 hours later! Try this, go to settings, restrictions, turn restrictions on, block the camera, save it. the app will disapear from ur home screen. go back to settings, restrictions, unblock camera and then turn the phone off ! once it is turned back on it worked FINALLY goodluck! I'm still going to my applecare appointment tomorrow, will post if they say anything else! UPDATE:it stopped working again hahaha false hope

I successfully blocked my caller ID when I received my phone (in phone>settings) but now that option entirely disappeared. What is there to do without completely reseting my phone? At one point I asked Sprint to unlock my phone and I was able to use it outside of the US. Phone Wrongly Blocked iPhone 4

spent most of last weekend trying to find out why my phone wouldn't send or receive, couldn't sort it so on Monday I spoke with orange who told me my sim must be faulty, they sent me an new one, the problem was still there. Spoke again with orange who told me the phone had been black listed and I need to speak to Apple. Spoke to apple they confirmed the phone was registered to me and there didn't appear to be a reason why it should be blocked. So back to Orange, after checking it out the told me my phone had been wrongly blocked by UK blocking, whoever they are. Orange said it wasn't anything to do with them but the would contact this organisation and get them to unblock the phone, I understand Orange sent them an e-mail last Thursday, I'm still waiting for it to be unblocked, I've even had to go and buy a cheap phone to tied me over it's sorted.Has any one experienced this at all??   Chris

How I use Siri to make calls using 82 to unblock my restricted number iPhone 4S

I just upgraded, very happily, from a Droid X, to the iPhone 4S.  On my droid I made two separate contact lists, for example one of my contacts may have read something like this: John DoeHome: 916-555-1111 Jane DoeMobile: *82916-555-2222 So when I called John he would see an unknown caller, but Jane Jane would see its me.  I just touch the appropriate widget.  Now on the iPhone 4S I enter the same, and when I use Siri, "she" can call John no problem, but when I ask Siri to call Jane, Siri can't seem to place the call.  Of course I can touch the contact and it will call no problem, but in order to go total hands free and take full advantage of Siri, I would have to always call with my number being blocked.  Does anyone know of a way to use Siri to dial a number using *82 so I can reveal my number to whom I choose? I have tried all kinds of combos using area codes, dialing a 1 first before area code, no area code even using the 'wait' button so it looks like *82;9165552222, but still have not figured it out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.  R. home button not working and Apple not fixing it Weird iPhone 4

Here it is what I have been told about replacing my iPhone: We'll send you a courier, he'll get the phone, you'll need to contact the courier, you'll pay €29 and we'll stop the cost of the iPhone on your card (550€ more or less) upon receiving a new iPhone. When we receive the old one if we find no fault with it, we'll keep €160 from tha caution or else if a major fault exists we'll unblock the 550€.  I honestly think it's a joke and Apple should start seriously thinking about recalling the faulty iPhones or issue a bug fix as it seems to be a programming fault!  I'll be blogging about this nightmare (I have been calling the helpline for weeks now) and will ask my 1600 friends on Facebook to share the story. Hopefully Apple will hear given the fact that it doesn't seem to listen!

My roomate he lost his iphone like a month back and he got a new one using his insurance, He left the country for good two weeks ago and the iphone was found on the couch under the pillows in the living room.. but is not working properly, so for some reason after a while it says iphone needs to cool down before you can use it(There is a small crack on the screen too).The iphone has been blocked for all the uk networks so mainly i was using it for games ...Is also IMEI blocked since he declared it lost and My friend told me that I cant unblock by calling o2 it as the insurance will request it back ...but he said that he would sell it for me for 100 GBP and that apple should repair it for me under warranty if I take it there and I wont have any issues ..I am a bit sceptical about doing so as I am not sure about the validity of his words and I dont want to get into trouble...Any ideas? iOS 4.1 unresponsive coma iPhone 4

There are other threads that talk about the iPhone 4 going into a coma, most of them unresolved. I wanted to be even more specific and start a new thread so that it isnt lost among all the others. Heres my scenario:1. My iPhone 4 (32GB) will become unresponsive at seemingly random times.2. I had Monkey Island 2 installed and after the coma, the save games were gone.3. The issues only started happening on iOS 4.1. There were no issues with 4.0, 4.0.1 or 4.0.2.3. When it was new, I restored from a backup that was on iOS4 from my old iPhone 3GS.4. The aforementioned 3GS is now my wifes and doesnt have this problem.5. Free space on the phone was at around 0.5GB6. I have a Power Support anti-glare screen protector on the front.7. I have a Power Support crystal film on the back.8. I have an Incipio feather case.Possible issues:1. Software issue (likely).2. Proximity sensor thinks its against my face and wont wake up (unlikely).3. Hardware issue (unlikely since the phone was fine before 4.1).What doesnt work:1. Power button + Home button reset method.2. Plugging phone into iMac Core i7 (phone will endlessly sit at the Apple logo boot screen).How to get the phone working again:1. Plug phone into wall charger. Phone will restart on its own.Its frequent enough that it occurs every few days, but not frequent enough for me to test and figure out whats going on. The scenarios are seemingly random: with bluetooth, without bluetooth, sitting on a table, in my pocket, driving, in one spot, etc.What Im trying to do:1. Full restore (no DFU mode, but restore in iTunes with phone running).2. Dont restore from backup but set up as a new phone.Since the phone has to be functional for me, Ive tried to install the minimum:1. Account with MobileMe (everything except Mail).2. Account with GMail3. Added my home wifi network to the settings.4. Battery percentage indicator turned ON.5. Safari Fraud Warning turned OFF (testing a theory from another thread).6. Custom mail signature.7. Installed the following apps (in addition to the default): CardStar, Convert, Mint.com, Bump, iBooks, SoundHound ∞, Things, textfree. Ive left everything else off for now to make sure that there arent any memory conflicts.8. No music, ringtones, photos or video synced.I just did this and Ill see if the problem fixes itself. If after a few days, Im okay, Ill start backing up and adding a few files at a time or turn on some synching.If anyone else has similar issues and a similar setup, please feel free to add to this thread.Again, it only started happening when I upgraded to iOS 4.1, so I do not believe that its a hardware or proximity sensor issue (unless the proximity sensor fix has a bug). iPhone 4 32GB iOS 4

Free Texting Apps dont use Data iPhone

My understanding is that all the free texting apps arent really free unless youre at home, because they really are just using data to send. If youre traveling abroad youre instantly on data roaming and these apps become utterly useless because they use the data system. I did a test to see how much data is used by loading up one of the apps (textfree). And sending a 50 character text message. It totaled about 20KB for the text message. Loading the app uses 40KB each time. My understanding is that AT&T charges 0.0195 per KB (!!!!!!!) for data usage. So that one 20KB text costs about $0.39 cents. Not much cheaper than the standard $0.50 cents per text on the data roaming plan.I dont understand why there cant be an App that uses the local network to send texts... kind of fly under the radar...However, if there was some way to quantify how much data is used sending a text, I might be able to quantify the cost per text. If its less than the standard 50 cents per text, then youve got something useful. Could I just look at my data send receive numbers to get a reliable n Are there any texting apps that use . Hey guys...hopefully someone here can help me out with this.I have been using the textfree app for a while not. Recently push notifications have not been working. I never get a notification of a new message and dont even know someone has sent me a message until I launch the app.I have already contacted Pinger who makes the app and they responded with this...Push Notifications are an Apple feature and service. As soon as we receive a message from one of your contacts for you, we immediately send the proper commands to the APNS (Apple Push Notification Services) so they can notify you of this event. We have visibility into our service and can tell if things are slow and make corrections, but unfortunately we dont have visibility into their service. As of now, we see nothing funky going on with our side of things and after testing it here, everything seems to be working well.Has anyone else had problems like this and how would I go about seeing what Apple has to say about this?Is this a Pinger problem or an Apple problem??

Since updating my 2nd generation iPhone to software version 2.1 I cannot block and unblock my caller ID at my discretion. I have (by default) from the cell provider caller ID block (private call) but before, from software 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 I could remove the call block as desired.
