My third attempt to fix my iPhone 4s. I've gone through two phones calls, three associates, and one Tech. support supervisor. The only thing said to me was "I cant do anything". I've explained my problem, as thorough as possible but the only option was to purchase a replacment for $200. I've restored my phone multiple times with zero effect, each with a clean restoration of iOS 6.1.3. If there is a solution to this problem I will greatly appreciate it. Phone calls ring in, I can hear caller they cannot hear me.I'm wonderfully expired for my warranty, did some online fix searching, still no microphone. Also I've been testi g via vocal note recording, it everts picks up my voice. Help would be appreciated!
I've tried changing caller ID( iPhone > Settings > Messages Received At > caller ID you should list the Apple ID that you are using in Messages.) and I've tried signing out of iCloud, NOTHING WORKS! please help
We have an unlocked Iphone 5, numbers were brought into the device from windows live. Incoming calls from international numbers will show only the incoming caller id, but not the name, even though they are in he address book. We tried to add the "+" to beginning of the number already.
I have a new I phone 5 running latest version of OS6. Since I purchased the phone. I have not been able to recieve calls through my bluetooth on my Handsfree link in my 2012 Acura TSX. I was having intermittent problems with the Iphone 4. I can link the phone ok, but when I get a call, I can hear the caller fine, but apparently all they hear is noise like a vacuum cleaner. I thought it was my system, but Acura says it is the Phone and that Apple is aware of the problem. Does anyone know if Apple is going to fix this? Basically you can't use the phone in the car!
When receiving or placing calls the earpiece on my phone is silent. I can only hear the caller when the phone is on speakerphone. Any suggestions?
Block a caller from texting?
My iPhone 4S keeps crashing. Writing texts, checking emails, using web browser, and sometimes when making phone calls I have intermittent ability to hear the caller. The phone sometimes gets very hot and some days the battery drains very very quickly even without much use. I've tried restore; deleting facebook; turning off most notifications and location services. What should I do?
I can hear the caller on speaker but they can't hear me. My mic is dropping out until I click speaker off and back on.
I JUST got a new iPhone 5 on Wednesday, and all appeared to be fine. But today (Thursday!) I'm having a problem receiving phone calls.Specifically, when I'm receiving a call:I can only hear the caller's voice;they can't hear my voice; and I can't hear my own voice in the receiver.I tried calling my iPhone from a land-line. The sound on the land line is muffled rustling---like someone is rubbing their hand across the phone mic. And when I speak into the land-line, I can hear my voice on the iPhone without any noise or static. To add further confusion, I can hear both myself and the other person when I place calls. Changing to an earpiece or to speakerphone successfully averts the incoming call problem, but this isn't really a preferable solution for a brand new phone. Anyone know how to get the microphone to work so that people can hear me when I'm placing AND receiving calls? Many thanks!
I have an App called "Calendars" by Readdle. I wish to be able to access this App (and any others if need be) whilst on a phone call without hanging up on the caller. I wish to be able to have the caller on speaker whilst accessing my calendar. Is it possible to navigate and access apps whilst and not terminate a call?
Running iPhone 5 in Germany with Deutsche Telekom on the LTE network means no call reception after the first call. Starting with the second call the caller will be diverted directly to the mail box, which is very annoying. This seems to happen whenever one stays within an LTE network cell. Or in other words, switching the LTE tower or turning off LTE for a second will allow another caller to get through. According to Deutsche Telekom the iPhone 5 has a firmware issue which will have to be fixed by Apple. In order to receive a call the iPhone has to switch to 3G. When the call ends, the phone will automatically switch back to the LTE network. According to the technician there seems to be a problem with the ID lease in the process which can't be fixed by Deutsche Telekom. The only fix for the user seems to be switching of LTE altogether or making sure to turn it off/on after each call while staying within one LTE cell tower. This is a reproducable problem that I have verified to exist with three iPhone 5 so far. Anybody else with this issue?
I have paired my iphone 5 to my 2012 nissan murano. Now when I answer using the button, that looks like a phone, or press answer on the car's touch screen the caller and I can't hear each other.
When I am on a call, it will beep to notify me of an incoming call. It does not display the caller and does not allow me to click over. It also does not register that I have a missed call. I have gone through all of the setting and I can not find anything to do with Call Waiting. Am I missing something?
These 4 calls are from the same caller , same #/device. Before iOS6, they would always merge & the count in parenthesis would increase; so, instead of 4 listings of 9 total calls, I should have 1 listing with (9) after it.
I have had the iPhone 5 since day one. No problems with the phone at all until the last couple of days. The caller ID function worked great, until recently. Now, I have searched through the Forums, and other sources online, to no avail. When a call comes in, no matter if it is in my contacts or not, all I get on the screen is "Unknown". I have done a hard reset, I even wiped the phone and restored from iCloud. No difference. I called AppleCare, they could not answer the problem either. If anyone knows a solution, I would love to hear it. Thanks.
Occassionally , when on calls I am not heard by the caller, but I can hear him speaking. When i restart my mobile this problem resolves till a single call but after the single call the same problem reappears. Please help me
I use a Blueant brand bluetooth with my IPhone5. For outgoing calls, it works fine. But, for incoming calls, the bluetooth will give me the options to answer or ignore, tells me I am connected, yet I cannot hear the caller and they cannot hear me. Any ideas? The bluetooth worked fine with my previous IPhone. Apple replaced the phone, but the problem still exists. Same problem when I pair it with my wife's IPhone5.
I recently updated my software, and since have been encountering a problem. I searched around on the internet and this forum, but haven't seen anyone else report this issue. Hoping someone out there can help Prior to the update:When I was on a call and someone else called me, it would display their name and few options such as Hold Call and Answer, Ignore, End Call and Answer, etc. (I don't recall the exact wording). My phone log would still log the incoming call, regardless of answering it or not. After the update:When I am on a call and someone else calls me, the new caller name is not displayed, and the options on the current call stay almost the same. The only change is the "Join Calls" feature isn't greyed out anymore. Since I can't click over, I miss the phone call. My call log doesn't register the call, so there is no way of knowing who I missed a call from unless they leave a voicemail. Any ideas on why this isn't working?
i upgrade iphone 4s to ios 6 and now i dont have caller id when somebody call me and he is in contact list... ????
I have iphone 4. Last night I download IOS 6 with fresh set up. After that, today, my fist call my business aprtner called me, and I can hear your but he cant hear me. I call other business partner and the same thing happen. Need help!. I was working fine befre IOS6.
MY iPhone 5 keeps blocking incoming phone calls with a message "call blocked" there is no addition information on who/what is being blocked or why. I have just transitioned from iPhone 4 to 5 and never had this happen before. Does anyone else have this problem? How does one find out what/who is being blocked?
I am still needing help to find out how I can get the picture of callers on my iPhone when they call me. Since I updated my phone, the callers picture does not appear. What can I do to get that feature back?
A backup and restore through iTunes resolved the issue. Luckily this user was syncronizing everything (Music, Photos, Apps, everything) through iTunes so it was not a difficult backup and restore, otherwise I would be careful if you manually manage these items. The process took over an hour to complete, since it had to synchronize, download the iOS software, reset factory settings, restore from backup and synchronize again. The ring tone setting didn't restore, but it seemed everything else did, but the user hasn't spent a lot of time on it at this point. Call Waiting/caller ID was critical in this case it was worth the risk.
Recently, we've gone through a few iPhone 4s and I want to relay this problem to see if anyone else has run into the same issue. Back in May, our 2-year old threw down my wife's iPhone 4 and it shattered the screen. We took the phone to the Permiter Mall (Atlanta) Apple Store and gladly paid the $150 to replace it, since it was our fault. But after replacing it, we began a string of bad phones, and Apple has left us holding the bag. Needless to say, we bought an Otterbox Defender Series iPhone 4 case and made sure that my 2-year old didn't get a hold of our replacement iPhone. Within a couple weeks of buying the replacement iPhone 4, my wife's phone encountered the "Blue Screen of Death." For those of you who haven't enountered that scnario, the Blue Screen of Death means curtains for a device (usually a Windows-based PC). So we took the replacement iPhone 4 back to Permiter Apple Store for replacement. This was back in June. Apple replaced the phone. But now, here in October, only 4 months later, my wife's second replacement iPhone will no longer make or accept calls. A clarification: she can make a call and she can click to receive a call, but she can't hear the caller and the other party can't hear her. We've done all steps to try to fix this, including restoring the phone, but all to no avail. So yesterday, October 6th, I took the iPhone back to Permiter Apple store in Atlanta. And with all the trouble we've gone through, I was perplexed when the Apple "Genius" told me that we were out of warranty, but that he would be happy to replace my wife's iPhone 4 for another $150. So I have 2 questions: To the folks at Apple. Does this seem like good customer service? First of all, we had to replace way too many defective iPhones. And second, I can't believe Apple doesn't do a better job of standing behind it's product. To other iPhone 4 users: has anyone else encountered the issue of not being able to hear or talk to the other party? It's very strange: when we place a call, the "speaker phone" button engages by itself, the call "connects" (the call timer starts), but we can't hear the other party and they can't hear us. I've also tried to press the mute button to see if that's the issue, but it isn't. Many thanks to all and to Apple--shame on you for giving GM like service instead of Southwestern type service.
My new iPhone 5 has audio issues when I am calls with my wired apple headset. The caller cuts out like it having low reception. The ends of words and phrases are dropped as well as soft spoken words. Music works great through the headphones. Calls sound great on the handset just not on headset. Tried different headset. Still not working. Any solutions? Tim
how do i hide caller id on a verizon system?
I had just recently replaced a proximity sensor in my phone, and I have been having some problems. Could you possible know why? Here's the trouble I am having: My phone screen doesn't lock when I am in calls so I can constantly pressing the mute button by accident. When I am in call normally, the ear speaker is very very quiet and I can barely hear the caller at all. But it seems they can hear me fine, and my microphone is working perfectly. When I am in call on loud speaker, I can hear the caller nice and loudly, perfectly fine. But it seems the microphone isn't as sensitive and the caller can barely hear me at all and I am really quiet. Like in the second problem but reversed. I am suspicious that the microphone problem is a software problem as it seems to work fine in loudspeaker. As for the locking and earpiece speaker I reckon a hardware problem. The proximity cable was brand new bought off Ebay for £3.79. Could it be the sensor that's causing the trouble and I may need a new one? Please reply asap, thankyou!
after update to iOS 6 ,when i have incoming call on a second line, the second caller automaticly forwarded to the voice mail. The options to hold or switch between callers appear just for 1-2 seconds.Mobile carrier:Megafon Moscow. The the setting are the same from iOS 5.11.I have a few peopke with the samw issue
I hope I'm not posting a duplicate issue, but i haven't seen this problem posted --- My iPhone 3G has stopped working for outgoing audio on phone calls or voice recording with the microphone on the headset -- I have the original headset/mic that came with it as well as the 79.00 apple in ear headset -- everything works fine until a call comes in -- I answer - can hear the caller perfectly, but they cannot hear me -- First I thought it was the headset--but it does this with everyone I try and they all work on other iPhones --- the phone is no longer under apple care and the closest apple store is over 100 miles away --- there is a guy in town that replaces broken screens -- he said it's the mother board and can't be repaired -- the phone works fine if I unplug the headset -- my audio gets through --- I haven't tried it with blue tooth -- I am running the latest version of the OS -- and this didn't coincide with an update -- the phone has not been dropped or damaged and has not been exposed to water --- Has anyone seen this before? any Ideas --- Not quite ready to go the the 4 yet -- Thanks
I've called my provider and they're telling me everything is fine on there end. This has been going on for a couple of weeks, some days I can make and recieve calls and send/recieve texts(not imessages) but most day's I can't. I've tried a friends 4s sim card in my phone and everything worked fine. Also, when I am able to recieve calls on those random day's, my caller id isn't working, every call is "unknown". I have tried reseting my phone, restoring and turning off and on airplane mode.
I can hear the caller but they say my voice keeps cutting out................
No one can hear me talking. I can hear the caller fine, but they can't hear me talking. My phone is not on mute. Volume is turned up. Signal is fine. This happens both when i make or receive calls. I tried turning the phone on and off. I tried a total system restore. I tried removing and reinstalling the sim card. No troubleshooting has worked so far. Any ideas?
Hi! I can't call out using phone numbers that were entered into Address Book using my iPhone. Attempting to call out starts a new text message instead. I've rebooted my phone several times. I've manually entered my time zone city, date and time. I've ensured that "Show caller ID" is on. I've deleted and recreated contacts. Nothing works. I have this problem whether using wifi or 3GS, even with 4 bars. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!
I made the setting to blocked unknown incoming caller but unfortunately I was'nt able to unblocked again because I can't determine what place the calls came from because the blocked call instead of the the number will appear.
caller can only hear me when i am on speaker
I have been experiencing this starting today. It has worked fine for the past two weeks. When I type in a number and hit call, the phone never rings, but apparently people are getting my calls. When I press end, the phone freezes and my ownly way out is a hard reset. It freezes for any and every caller or call I make. When sliding to answer, or pressing the answer button it freezes at their own screens and again, a hard reset is in order. I took my phone to AT&T and they checked my account and looked at the phone and everything was in perfect working order. I have restored the phone three different times now, from a backup, and to factory. All apps are working, texting is working fine. I am really stumped on this one, I hope someone can help me!
I'm trying to make/answer a telephone call but can only hear the other caller. They cannot hear me. Facetiem works fine.
I got iPhone 4 and recently upgraded to ios 5.1.1. When I make a call or when I receive a call,I can hear caller's voice very well but they can't hear my voice. I checked vioce memos and it's working pritty well. I searched and still couldn't find solution for my problem in the community. Any suggestion please. Thank you.
My iMessages are showing up from my email. When I look at caller ID it is checked that my number should show up. Any one have any idea on how to fix this? Thanks!
Hi I have read through several posts so far but am still having trouble with the whole start an imessage on my iphone and pick it up on my mac later. I tried sending a message from my mac to a friend and that sent message appeared on my iPhone, however any messages I make on my iPhone do not appear on my mac. On my mac I have my Apple ID as the active account (my email address) On my iPhone Settings>Messages>Receive at 2 addresses There is my phone number listed and my email address. My Apple ID is the same as my macs and caller ID I have ticked my email address not my phone number. I found somewhere it was suggested turning off the account on the mac repeating this on the iphone and performing a soft reset and then turning iMessage back on on both devices but this has not worked. I have not had any messages whatsoever appear on my mac since installing mountain lion. Am i just missing something simple?
When ringing other numbers, my phone number does not display on the receivers phone.I tried going into settings ... phone, but I cannot change "Show My caller ID" to ON (or black) Any ideas
When connected to one person, I hit the "+" button, select a contact, and then the iphone indicates it is calling the 2nd person but the 1st person remains audible on the call. After a few seconds, the 2nd call appears to go through because the "merge" button appears as well as the name of the 2nd person I called. However, when I tap the "merge" button, the 2nd caller is not there. When I hang up with the 1st person and call the 2nd person, they tell me they didn't receive the 1st call to them. Is this a phone problem or user problem? Thanks,
LeLoup wrote:Every other mobile can! That statement is completely false. The laws regarding recording calls vary widely from country to country, and State to State. Including that functionality would require massive overhead to manage its use depending on the locations of both the caller and the recipeint of the call. Logically, it stands that it's just not worth the headaches.
I would like iMessage to work on my iPhone 4S iOS 5.1.1. I don't want to enter an apple ID for various reasons. That's not a problem, according to apple <http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268> : "iPhone automatically registers your phone number for use with FaceTime and iMessage during activation." Except that it is a problem aparenly. iMessage won't activate. It says that it's "Waiting for activation". I've tried following the troubleshooting guide: <http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268> but nothing seems to help. I've Erased All Content and Settings, I've tried resetting, hard resetting, etc. No luck. Does anyone have a Verizon iPhone 4S with iMessage enabled with their phone number as the caller ID?
I have the iPone 4S, and my husband has the Android Blaze. We all know that iPones are much better, but I am a little jealous of his autmatic caller ID. When someone calls him that he doesn't have saved in his phonebook, it still pulls up the name and where the phone number is from. Can our iPhones do that?! If so, how!!?? Thank you!
I have been having problems with imessage over the last couple of days. I finally after months of having my phone fixed the imessage caller ID to show my number instead of my email. I've noticed that since then I've had issues with it. My boyfriend has an iphone 4 running on iOS5 and I have a iphone 4s running on iOS5. Before I changed that his messages was sending fine, they had a delay on them from time to time. But now some of his messages aren't even sending to me and it's even showing above his message that it sent as a text message instead of an imessage. My question is, is it my phone or his phone? thanks
Right after I had my iPhone 4s replaced under warranty, any iMessages I sent would have my apple ID email address attached as the sender, rather than my phone number. I have gone to Settings > Recieve At > caller ID and selected my phone number (and restarted the phone), and yet it still sends iMessages as my email address. This is a problem because hardly anyone has my email address in their iPhone contact for me, so they can't tell who the message is coming from. And no, asking everyone to add my email address is not an acceptable solution. iMessage used to work great, up until my hardware swap... anyone have any ideas?
