Alternating Data Service iPhone 4S

Mainly my problem is that most of the time now i have to switch toEDGE and then back to 4G to get faster internet. I have an iphone 4S Unlocked, I am using   t-mobile and i have made sure that it is not the service nor the SIM.Ive reset the setting, ive had a restore again to a new iphone, and ive tried to downgrade my carrier version back to carrier 14.0 from t-mobile 14.1.It worked before i restored to IOS 6.1.3 because of memory issuess. I have made my way arround how IOS works and most of the technical stuff to do with it. Overall, How can i fix this or what can i do essentaily to bring back my faster and more reliable internet? p.s DIdnt know where this would go so i posted it here. p.s+ Yes i was jailbroken before i restored. At that time i had good cellular internet

Wifi option greyed out iPhone 4S

My wifi option has been grayed out for several weeks now, Apple has even replaced my phone. I've tried all the tricks from resetting network settings, heating method, and apparently there is a freezing method as well. Apple is wanting to replace it, but it will happen again. I hate how Apple ignores issues like this, since I've seen reports about it as early as April, but I'm sure has happened before then. I'm still under warranty, and lately I've been trying to downgrade to the iOS 6.1.2 since I didn't have the issue at that point, but that's not allowed by Apple and I can't do it through jailbreak since I didn't save SHSH blobs from that previous software. At this point, I'm at a loss, I don't see how they don't realize that it's a big issue for people. What I wish would happen is just for them to re-release 6.1.2 and just label it as 6.1.4 or something as a temporary fix. Hopefully another discussion about this issue will prompt Apple into working faster on a fix, or at least acknowledge it and let people that have been affected know that a fix is coming very soon.

Who have found solutions to iphone battery draining issues after upgrading iphone to iOS 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 iPhone 4S

I have iphone 4S that is UNLOCKED.  I noticed after upgrading to iOS 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 the battery is draining quickly. - I searched thru the Apple forum and internet and followed troubleshooting steps to dissable any settings and applications that might increased the battery usage.  Still after all the troubleshooting, my iphone has battery drain issues. - I called Apple and talked to customer support. The guy did his best effort to solve the problem but the solutions that he provided me I have already done it.  I sent him a system report of my iPhone and he told me that the iphone is operating fine. I asked him if there is a way that I can downgrade the iOS 5 and he told me that it is not possible. 1.  Who has the same problem and found a solution?  Please provide the solution?2.  Has someone been able to downgrade to iOS 5?  Please provide steps? Thanks

In DENMARK, TELENOR carrier has a problem with coverage network on 3G and this upgrade is not so good for this carrier, so that's why i need help to downgrade  ios 6.1.3 to 6.1.2.  When you have ios 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 you can switch between using 3G or not, after you make the latest upgrade ios 6.1.3 you can not switch between 3G and not becouse you have LTE and i can not choise to use the Iphone on 2G.  Please if anyone can help me with this Thx alot George

My WI-FI is not working for 15 days, since I upgraded the software to 6.1.3. The buttom is grayed out.There was a huge forum over more than 210 pages about the subject but seems like Apple prefer to erase the forum because I can not access it anymore. I tried everything.1. Turn on and off2. Flight mode3. Reset Network connections4. Reset the IPhone - ITUNES. Everything, more than once, thousand times... and nothing. I read that the only solution is to replace or the IPHONE or the hardware. My warranty expired a month ago. HiSince I upgraded to the iOS 6.1.3 I am still able to make calls in the car via bluetooth, however I am no longer able to listen to music. Bluetooth is obviously working but the music is no longer being streamed or even detected by the car. It used to work fine before I upgraded. I've been using Nike+ GPS since it came out on my iPhone 3GS, then 4S, and now most recently my iPhone 5. I have been running the same route for years, but I noticed the iPhone 5 was recording a slightly shorter run (not much just about 0.05 to 0.1 mile). When I looked at the map view of my running route it was obvious that the iPhone 5 was not picking up the final few 100 feet of my run where I get to the end of the path and turn around to go back the same way. I compared it to the map records on Nike of the same route I've been running forever and those route traces clearly show the right end point compared other features on the map. So today I tried something else: I ran to the end point of my route and then paused my run and stood in place for 30 seconds and then restarted the run going back. This time when I got home the Nike+ route map showed exactly the right endpoint and the total mileage was correct. So it looks like Apple did something bad with the either the iPhone 5 GPS system probably to conserve battery life. It must only ping the location every X seconds, so if you are on a route and turn around it's going to miss the end point of your route unless you are lucky enough to hit that location at the same time the GPS pings. Note I'm quite sure I ran the most recent iOS on my iPhone 4S before upgrading phones so I don't think this is an iOS or Nike+ problem. I do not claim to understand the details of how the iPhone GPS calculates position (I think it is also supposed to use an accelerometer for error checking and refinement), but the iPhone 5 GPS location is clearly a downgrade from the iPhone 4S. ThxEd

6.1.2 Causing Picture receiving issues iPhone 5

SInce I upgraded to 6.1.2 (I had no issues previously, all was perfect in my iphone 5 world since I got it!!) my battery is draining like a sieve, it's down 2% in seconds and no apps opened, as well 2 of my friends, one with an iPhone 5 on SPrint like me and one with an iPhone 4s on AT&T cannot send me pictures. I get the texts but not the pics. My friend with a Galaxy SII on Sprint can send me pictures fine. What is going on? Anyone else seeing these issues? My iPhone 4S friend can send pictures to my iphone 5 SPrint friend just fine too. I can send pics to them and they receive them fine.  I tried turning off/on and no change. Checked settings and everything is as it was before? I have LTE off since we do not have it in the Phoenix metro areas. (This was causing messaging delivery issues initially until I learned it should be off where you do not have it).  Can I downgrade back to where I was in my old perfect world?

Well, this battery drain issue is coming from iOS 6.1 to me and it seems that it is common on almost every iPhone model (4, 4S, 5, etc). It maybe not the iOS itself, perhaps from this version, the iOS gives some opportunity to some Apps to do some stuff in the background that kills battery. Some of us have this kind of apps and having battery problem, other don’t.  My iPhone battery was good prior to iOS 6.1, with 5 hours of usage and even up to 5 days on standby! After upgrade to 6.1, it loses 2~3% battery every hour on standby and only lasts for 1 or 2 hours of usage before dead. It is not as bad as some who lose 10% of battery every hour on standby, but to me, the battery life has reduced to one quarter of past.I am sure Apple is working on it and iOS 6.1.2 seems to be an urgent upgrade to solve, but I knew it won't solve my problem, because I don’t use the Exchange account and the update aimed to solve that issue.I think the best solution is that the Apple gives us the choice to downgrade to iOS 6.0 until the next stable version is ready to go. This solution will give the Apple the time to find and solve the problem and gives us our phones back to use.

I installed 6.1, and now I can't connect to WiFi (the slider for on/off is just greyed out in settings under WiFi). Also, the screen turns off at random, reboots to apple icon every 5 seconds or so, sometimes i get lucky and device boots into the OS! wow.I want off this crazy merry go round.  how do i restore to an earlier firmware, without a backup? I downloaded what I thought was a correct ipsw file for the 4S, but... I got a dlg box saying it couldn't install it...

I have an iPhone 4, updated to 6.1 yesterday. Now if I send a photo from the photos app, it makes the sent noise but never actually sends. When I try to go into the Settings, a lot of the settings just quit the app. Is there really no way to downgrade the OS, is anyone else having problems, will Apple patch this *fast*?

I have been on the phone with apple regarding downgrading from IOS 6 to the working IOS 5.1.1.They say it is impossible now, but was possible a few days ago.So my question is: how can I work around this stupidity and get my phone working again.If it was possible a few days ago it should be possible now.The Apple guy did say that it might be possible with jailbeak and then came with all the talk about it ruining the agreement with Apple.  I just want a working phone. I have found the IOS 5.1.1. but itunes wont let me install it.  Please help I'm desperat here

I really hate the new Maps App.. how can I downgrade to iOS 5.1 ? I live in Madrid, Spain, and the previous Google Maps App embeded with the previous operative system was SO MUCH BETTER than the new iOS,in this map it never shows anything, I used to search for business names, or street address and in this new version you got with tom tom is an absollutely a mess. Have you tryed to search Madrid's main street "Paseo de la Castellana" the app shows "no item found". New Apple Map is just disappointing! it is the WORST APPLICATION EVER. i've ugraded my iphone 4s to iOS 6.0.1 and i'm not satisfied. it slows down my phone and takes a lot of RAM and CPU. i want to downgrade to 5.1.1 and i've been searching a lot on the web apparently i have to be jailbreaked so i can downgrade. this is not logicly acceptable. i don't like jailbreaking my phone. i should have the right to downgrade to any iOS versions that i want but apple is just being unfair. apple is limiting and puts boundaries for the usage of my own personal gadget which leads people to jailbreak or change their mind on using apple products. i as a client and a fan of apple products am not satisfied and i'm gonna change my mind about it if i don't find any solution for this problem. anyways people out there i would really appreciate if u have anything to share... peace

iPhone 4 on 6.0.1 severe battery problems

I have suffered what I consider a critical failure since upgrading to 6.0.1. I am a medical student and today in class I noticed my battery draining unusually fast. At first I was unconcerned as cell service in the hospital is poor and sometimes that drains battery faster. During my last class I was down to 40% so turned my phone off. I turned it on after class 2 hours later and battery is down to 15%, it dropped 25% over two hours while turned off!! I got home and it was 10% so I charged it for 4 hours and it only went up to 17% now in the last 10 minutes it's gone 17-13% and I am using now and it is sluggish and slow to type. What can I do? I'm on call tomorrow and I am expected to have a working phone, can anyone help me? My iPhone is not authorized on my iTunes, ive tried and it just says "connecting to apple" for hours straight. Been like that since I got a new laptop 8 months ago. I'm not too stupid or lazy to fix it, just so busy and stressed I don't have time to fix this stuff. Please help if you can! I appreciate it a bunch!Now at 6% Does anyone know if I beg will they let me downgrade back to a different iOS? Like 6.0.0?

I have been a die-hard Mac user since I received my first Bondi Blue iMac in 1998. I have been an avid customer ever since. I use Apple products on a daily basis. I mix music, videos, edit photos, and communicate with my friends & clients using Apple hardware & software. I recently purchased an iPhone 4S. It has proven to be the most useful thing I have ever purchased. I just moved to Maui from the mainland and my iPhone has been my lifeline to my family on the mainland. I Facetime with my daughter on a regular basis and I use the Google Maps App to navigate all over the island. Today I upgraded to iOS 6 so that I could FaceTime with my daughter without a WiFi connection. Now my Facetime won't work at all, many of the game apps shut down in mid-play (not a problem until today), and the Map App *****! I thought all of the hype about iOS 6 being bad was just sour grapes, but now I am regretting the upgrade. Steve Jobs earned my loyalty by giving me what I want from a computer/smartphone/netpad. But now that he's gone, I don't like the way things are going. I hate the fact that Apple is forcing me to keep the new iOS and not signing restorations to the previous iOS. If this is not addressed, I will cease to buy any more Apple products. I was planning on getting an iPad2 for my little girl, but I don't think that's in the cards anymore. Apple needs to understand that they had a loyal following because they gave us what we want. Well, I DON'T want iOS 6. It ***** and it's a failure. It was wrong to exchange a good thing for something inferior. That's a Windows-type blunder that I'm surprised to see Apple make. Apple needs to accept it's mistake and listen to it's customers. If this isn't handled right by Apple's new brass, I may have to switch over to Android. I'm serious as a heart attack. I want what I want the way I want it, and I want it from Apple. But I WILL go elsewhere if I can't get it. I posted these sentiments to my Facebook and every one of my friends who upgraded expressed the same feelings.  regards,Dissapointed
