My two cents. I upgraded to the new operating system yesterday. The update was not flawless but not a disaster either. I had to connect it to my Mac twice so I can get my apps to go back into the phone. The upgrade was close to useless as most of the features are not 3G compatible. If Apple thinks I am going to buy a new phone every time they come up with a new one better give their heads a shake. Literally they made the upgrade as such that tells the 3G owners to go get a hike. Oh by the way now you can have folders and here is the bone for you. I will think twice before I buy my next phone. But my beef with OS4 is that it slows down my phone. A lot. From entering a appointment to Calender to playing my Bejeweled (not a heavy game) the iPhone now is SLOW. I want to go back to IS3 and I do not know how or if I am able to. Thank you Apple.Message was edited by: Enigma88 Mac Pro Quad Mac OS X (10.5.2) 4GB Ram
Hi Everyone... it seems like this wouldve been asked already but my searching didnt find it.Where on the iPhone 3G is the GPS antenna located... and/or what orientation should one hold the phone in, in order to give the best chance of seeing satellites in the sky? Screen up? Backside up? Edge up?I frequently hike and bike under forest canopy where GPS reception is spotty, and would like to give my 3Gs GPS its best shot at tracking me (I use Trailguru app... works pretty well as long as theres signal).Any comments appreciated.thanks!Eddy Windows Vista
soo.... does any know if apple WILL do cosmetic repairs to an iPhone 3G? If so, would it be worth paying for? I may have dropped my iPhone and cracked the inside of the screen and the back of the case. The phone is still intact and the outer glass is still solid and responsive to touch. There is thin crack on the inner LCD.I couldnt find an email address to ask directly. The only option i saw was to hike it down to my nearest apple store (about an hour and a half away) after making an appointment with a Genius at the Genius Bar.Any help, greatly appreciated MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.1)
I am planning a hike of about 38 miles, and I want to track the whole thing with the iPhones GPS. From what Ive read, the app I am using (MotionX GPS) will kill the battery in 4-5 hours, but I am thinking it will take at least 20 hours to complete the hike. I have searched around for hand-cranked cell phone chargers that are compatible with the iPhone, but have not had much success.Does anyone know of a good manual charger for the iPhone that would be good for use while hiking? So in order to skip all the hype, I called AT&T customer service to get a answer on the rate hike. We have a 700 family plan, with a standard line for my wife and an iphone line for me. I wanted to see what the price would be if I upgraded, since I think the whole new plan rate is a bunch of steer feces. She put me on hold to confirm, and when she came back I was told that it would not go up. No increase. Pay the same monthly rate. Huh?She said they would not raise my rate and that my current $20 Iphone+200 add-on to our family plan would still apply. They would consider this as just a hardware upgrade and they would not expect me to pay more than I currently pay, which is $95/mo thanks to a employer discount on my wifes line. Anyone else hear this? Was this just an example of AT&T customer service not knowing what they are talking about? I asked if its true that I can only buy the 3g at the store and she said yes, so I know that was accurate, but then I asked about activating there and walking out with the same monthly bill and she said yes, the new rate is only for new activations.Any thoughts? Anyone confirm? Dell 600m
