My iphone suddenly began disconnecting frequently from my Access point like every 4 seconds, maybe every minute. it just disconnects randamly,i have had this issue for two days now . I restored my iphone to IOS 6.1.3 and yet the issue is still preserved , so i reset my router and my access point to their default setting and still the WIFI keeps on disconnecting. I even tested my IPhone to connect to my Uncle's wifi access point and still it disconnects from it frequently. My Iphone has never suffered any damage. it has never fallen on the ground and not even scratched. The disconnection here is not that the iphone disconnects from the wifi when i lock the phone but it's worse it disconnects when the phone is in use even if I am downloading something from the app store or streaming a video on youtube and then it will automatically reconnect again which is pretty annoying especially if i am using a VOIP service .i tried everything now and seems nothing helps. Is this a Hardware or a software problem ?, i would be glad to hear from other users that i am not the only one affected by it. I live in egypt, is there Apple Support in here ?, Any suggestions will Greatly help me .
My iphone 4 has just completed my two year contract with vodafone. However in this time my phone broke and I used apple to repair it. Which in fact is actually a switch service. So now I have a different imei number than what I started with. I rang vodafone to unlock my phone, but they say they can't and there is nothing they can do as the phone was not issued by them. I also can't seem to find a way to unlock my phone via apple. So what can I do??Any help would be awesome!
I go on vacation tomorrow, to egypt for a week. According to the weather it's currently 40 degree's! I will most likely listen to spoitfy (offline-mode) while lying in the sun, i will cover my iPhone to keep it out of direct sunlight, however will it be safe? It's a brand new iPhone and i'm worried i will destory the battery life or hardware or anything in general. Thanks.
Hi. Last Saturday morning I lost my phone and immediately went onto iCloud and entered the phone into Lost Mode, sent the message and Played Sound. Spent all that day reporting the loss to the police, insurance and vodafone and generally panicking. Went to bed that night, put hand under pillow and guess what, found my darling phone!!! What a relief!! Cancelled Lost Mode on iCloud and restored passwords, vodafone etc. HOWEVER, at various times (and obviously I never get any warning), the lost alarm still sounds and in public, people must think I have stolen my own phone!!! I have tried different ways to stop the alarm happening again eg setting Lost Mode over again and then cancelling it again but the alarm still goes off. All I have to do is press the on/off button to stop it sounding but the fact that it goes off in the first place is the problem. It should be cancelled! Why does the alarm still go off? Can anyone help please? Many thanks Susan
I have tried resetting and erased all data but still no luck detecting network. 3G is found briefly when powering back up. I have tried two different sims from two different providers 3 an vodafone but whilst carrier is found neither connect. Wifi if working fine as are all other phone functions. Any ideas?

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. Please can someone help... model a1332
Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iPhone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working. After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either. The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages. When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services, but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage, can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!! ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings, switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..
Hi, I recently brought an Iphone 4, when I went to use the cellular internet on it, it won't work. One of the friends at work suggested that I try my personal hotspot, which I did. It told me "if you wish to set up hotspot, contact vodafone Au" which is silly as I know I have a data pack as I am still paying for it.. HELP.
my iphone 4 is locked on carrier Etisalat egypt the contract is over from 18 months and called them to unlock it but they told me that to contact apple directly so i want to unlock it is there any support please?
I recently got my iPhone 4s unlocked. It was locked to vodafone & my personal hotspot has gone missing! Ive gone on to 'Cellular Data' & my Personal Hotspot option isnt there. I've reset my settings & its still not there. I am currently on Tesco Contract & I would like to know how to get it back. Thank you.
Wonder if anyone can help? Today my IPhone 4S was working normal and then my phone came up as not having a signal by saying "No Service". i turned it off and back on again then i had a signal "vodafone 3G". i started to send txt messages and IMessages but these never sent and now all my messages are failing and its not letting me use the internet like facebook and that. I have also tried holding the top button in and the home button in at the same time and rebooting the software. But this still hasnt worked. Now my IPhone 4S is only working through Wifi. If i go out of a Wifi zone my phone doesnt let me send messages nor use internet. I can call fine and recieve calls. I am also not receving any txt messages or IMessages too. Hope someone can please help me. Sammyx
I bought an iphone 4 but from egypt and now it doesn't work , an internal thing .. Can i change it in the U.S and i pay the "out of warranty" fees ?
hello some help please! im trying to unlock my vodafone iphone 4.. they have been less than helpful. when i follow the online instructions i am told to sync phone to itunes, which i have done, it then tells me to select iphone in 'devices' and go to summary.. but my itunes does not have a 'devices' tab..? what am i missing?
Hello, I have received an iPhone 4 from a friend who has recently upgraded, he is on vodafone and I am on Giffgaff both in the UK. He has been in touch and been granted a factory unlock from his network for me, although when he originally retired the handset he did a full "as new" restore through iTunes. I cannot activate the phone with my sim as it's not the original carrier but therefore also cannot get beyond the activation of the handset in order to "apply" the factory unlock through iTunes. Is there anyway around this problem or will I have to borrow/acquire a vodafone sim to firstly activate and then update through iTunes? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick altogether? Help much appreciated!
Hi all. I want to unlock my iPhone 4 from vodafone (I'm out of contract and the phone won't work with SIM cards from other carriers). It's a replacement/refurb as my original phone died. vodafone say they don't have the IMEI on file to authorise the unlock and need to request it to be transferred from Apple (which takes 5 working days). Is this right? Is there any way Apple can speed up the process for me?
Hi, we purchased a new iPhone 5 16 GB in balck through our business account with vodafone. We’ve had this phone just under 2 month and it has had a battery issue that seemed to only get worse by time. We tried the usual fixes by applying the latest iOS and doing a complete restore to factory settings with no results. The battery would not hold charge for long and the user had to keep constantly charging it through the day. We’ve had similar issues in the past with iPhone 4 and the 4S to which the fix was always to take the iPhone back to the Apple store and get it replaced under warranty. When I went to the Apple store after inspecting the phone they told me that they can not service nor replace the phone as it had “Random Code Stickers” on the inside of the phone which are not consistent with any repair work done in any Apple repair store and that a “water sensor “ attached to the inside of the screen was missing as well as “Burn marks” to the back on the screen.Has anyone had a similar problem with their phone?
himy i phone 4s has a greyish on/off wifi button. tried everything and still not working, i bought the phone 9 months ago and no tech support in egypt for the i phone, what should i do ?????
There are four possible causes of the activation error: The activation server is unavailable. Rare, but it happens. Usually fixed within minutes. Your antivirus or firewall (or your router's firewall) is blocking access to the domain gs.apple.com on ports 80 and 443. Your phone is jailbroken. Your phone isn't jailbroken, but the computer you are connected to during the restore or update was used to hack or jailbreak some other iOS device, and its network database was corrupted in the process. Perhaps this will provide you some clues as to how to proceed. If your iPhone has not been jailbroken, Apple has some troubleshooting suggestions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3424?viewlocale=en_US If your iPhone has been jailbroken, you're on your own. We can provide no assistance for jailbroken devices in these forums. Regards. (part of the above information quoted with gratitude from Lawrence Finch)
I updated my phone to iOS 6.1.3 today. This evening (two hours ago) I downloaded a free app called "Caption Pics" by Viral Media Entertainment. About 15 minutes ago, something weird happened. I had 6 apps that the App Store wanted to update. I went to update them. The App Store asked for my Apple ID. Seemed odd to have to submit for an update, but I did. Got a message saying it was an incorrect password. So I entered it again. Same error. I enter it a 3rd time before I realize that it's asking me to enter an Apple ID for an ID that isn't even mine! It was completely different, even the domain name. I immediately deleted the two apps I downloaded today and restarted my iPhone. I also immediately reset Apple ID password from my computer. I saved my photos without syncing. I'm doing a factory reset/restore right now. I'm a bit weirded out... I realize it could be a fluke. Servers sometimes get bits of information mixed up. Someone else could be cursing right now because they think someone tried to hack them and got them locked out of the App Store. But still. This is weird. Any insight? Anything else I can do to protect myself?
I dropped my iPhone in the swimming pool yesterday while I was at work (I work in a sports centre), it wouldn't turn on after that. 3 hours after the accident I took it to my local vodafone store since I had originally bought it from there and had insurance on it. They said they would send it off for repair for liquid damage. They said I would lose all the data on it. They took it in and gave me a temporary phone to use in the mean time. However, after I came home I was googling liquid damage and I heard about the home remedy of keeping your iPhone in a bag of rice and waiting 3 days, I am now thinking that I should have tried this befor handing it into the store who thought it had lived its last. Should I get it back from the store before it is sent off for repair, to try this? It might be a way of saving my data. Thanks
vodafone ireland requested for my iphone 4 to be unlocked over 3 weeks ago but it still hasnt been done why is it taking so long? this isnt normal is it? please help me

october 1st i bought a iphone 5 on vodafone contract. The phone was extremley fun and easy to use and was completley new i was happy i switched from my galaxy ace. Then a couple of weeks back i lost my iphone so i phoned vodafone and got it blocked along with the sim. Then i found it and i asked vodafone to unblock and send me a new sim (because while taking it out i accidently damaged it) so they unblocked it and sent a new sim i had this sim activated and put in my iphone i waited 24 hours for it to be activated after 24 hours i had no bars i couldnt call or text but i could surf the web without wifi so i phoned them again and they sent another sim i inserted and waited 24 hours same problem. I know it is a hardware issue does my warranty cover this ??? Does anyone else have this problem
I just got a text message (not iMessage..) from a number 561-900-66--, with the message "Omg Cathy (my first name).." followed by a mysterious bit.ly/xxxx URL. I clicked on the link (thinking it's somoene I know since the person got my first name), it automatically re-directed a few times on my iPhone's Safari browser.. ie. sort of like how spam/viruses go when you click on them on a real computer. I shut down the Safari app quickly but not sure how much of the page already loaded. Does anyone know anything about this spam/virus? And, is it possible to hack my iPhone? How do I further protect myself? Please help!! For your reference: I have an iPhone 5. It has not been jail broken nor have I tried to do anything shady to it. I'm fairly sure I have most of the latest OS updates.
Hi I bought IPhone 4S from ebay it's locked to vodafone. I just want to unlock how it's possible let me know thanks
People can you help me about my problem, i download a yahoo messenger at the apple store for my iphone5 & i check the policy its fake somebody hack my account help me to remove this in my phone coz i make cazy right now.
Here's my journey. I had the iPhone 5 from the day it was realeased. Was with vodafone Australia. Phone was awesome. Coverage was an issue, so decided to swap to Telstra recently. Got new iPhone 5 with the change over. From the beginning, the new Iphone on Telstra, the battery was draining completely in less than 3 hours. Looked at the support communities and spoke to Apple. I made the mistake of setting the phone up from a "BackUp". They suggested setting it up as a "new phone" in iTunes. Did that - phone had been awesome until 4 days ago when I decided to "Update All" of the pending App updates. After all was downloaded the phone returned to its draining self, also becomign VERY VERY HOT when charging. Warmer than normal. Also got a SMS from Telstra to say I have used 82% of my download entitlement. With 22 days remaining!!!! Something wasnt right, not only was it using the battery life, cellular data usage was being drained also. Spoke to Apple, they told me I would need to do a process of elimination to find the "corrupt" app that was draining the Battery & Data. I deleted every single App I had on the phone, yet it made no difference. I started to monitor the cellular data recieved on the phone. With no apps and nothing running, how is there data and battery being drained. Decided yesterday to"RESTORE" iPhone once again. Set up as a new phone. I had loaded my email settings, but nothing else. I hadnt even provided my Apple ID infomation so the App Store wasnt logged in. Phone was still not right. Played with some settings, decided to turn my "Exchange" email from "PUSH" to "Manually Fetch". After this, the phone was back to normal. No cellular data being downloaded and battery OK. Turned Exchanged back to PUSH, then the battery decides to trickle away again. After all this ********, I have narrowed it down to the way my exhcnage server checks for new messages. I have ALWAYS had my Exchange server PUSH emails to me. Why with this phone, on 6.1 should I have to have it to Manually check for emails. I get the feeling from conversations with other people, there seems to be alot of unknown data usage which Apple need to make a priority in preventing. This is costing consumers time and money. Curious if anyone else has had same issue?
Hey All, Im now moving to South Africa for a few years, but got a iPhone 5 locked to vodafone. As I'll be in SA for a few years, I'll be getting a new SA'n sim card... My question is; Will my VodafoneUK iPhone 5 work in South Africa with a South African sim card? Or will I need to speak with vodafone and get this unlocked prior to leaving the UK? Thanks.
I have recently received an email from vodafone Uk to inform me that my iPhone has been unlocked. However, upon connecting to iTunes and doing a restore my phone will still not accept my new sim. As I understand I have to wait for Apple to update their database but I wondered if I could push this through any quicker or is there a way I can check to see whether it has been unlocked or not. Thanks very much in advance. R
I have restored my device, updated it, got my sim replaced from vodafone but nothing seems to work. I have tried turning off 3G services, call waiting and cellular data.
I am a vodafone customer in the UK with an iPhone 4S. I didn't actually see the warning from vodafone saying not to update to 6.1.0 and so went ahead and did it. I had no problems whatsoever, was working perfectly fine. I then saw the release of 6.1.1 and the advice from vodafone to do it. I went ahead and did it Over The Air but it didn't complete. I got the message on my phone saying to plug into iTunes. iTunes said my phone was in recovery mode and I had to restore. Tried to do it but got unknown error 36 and the restore failed. Went through all the suggestions on the support website - tried different computers (Windows and Mac OS), different USB cables, different network etc. Contacted support in the UK and they called back. Went through the whole thing again, tried the holding home and reset trick etc. Still not luck. In the end they put me through to support in the US who said they have the engineers looking at it. Has anyone else had this issue? Error 36 can be a hardware error and I'm worried they will say there is a problem with my device and make me pay for servicing (out of warranty). There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, it was definitely the upgrade to 6.1.1 that did it. Without sounding selfish, I'm hoping it is a widespread issue so that they admit liability and fix/replace without cost or release 6.1.2.
My iphone 4 has gone out of warranty by about two weeks and there is suddebly a fault with the camera where the view is all blurry. I have been into my local store and they won't help. I feel this is harsh given that I am just out of warranty. When I purchased the handset from vodafone, they did not mention that I could take out extended warranty cover. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Hi! I requested my iPhone4's unlock code from my carrier(vodafone Portugal), about a day after they confirmed it with an sms code saying I should expect an update with Apple, but never received anything from Apple. Any ideas? thanks,Dumitru.
Hello, I'm Italian. Since I updated to 6.1 and activate the line vodafone LTE in Milan, phone screen responds much less to the touch and also crashes often. Do you also have this problem?
Hey guys just thought I would highlight this as I should think many people have brought a new iPhone 5 in preparation for the release of the 4g network next year. Sadly I have to report that it is looking highly unlikely that you will be able to use you iPhone 5 on the O2 and Vodaphone network when they eventually buy the licence and launch their network. The reason quite simply the only frequencies which the iPhone 5 supports are not going to be available for the time being here in the Uk. EE is the only supported network in the UK and they have purchased the licences for the only frequencies in the uk which the iPhone 5 supports. O2 and the apple store both kept this quiet when I upgraded to my iphone 5, even when I made it clear to the apple store assistant I intended to use it on 4g when it's eventually released. "Yes it will work" I was told. The sales guy in the O2 store also told me the same. I've returned my iPhone 5 mainly because of bad battery problems however I also didn't want to be stuck with a 4g phone where I can't use 4g when it's released. I first read about this on the BBC website but this link explains the crocks of the problem... http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/09/12/apples-iphone-5-will-contain-limited-uk-4 g-lte-support-freezing-vodafone-o2/ Has anyone else been incorrectly advised and mis-sold? I'm now holding out to give EE a try, and, of course when the iPhone battery drain problem has been resolved.
I recently switch carriers with my iphone 5. when i try to activate with my new carrier, i cannot get onto the network. my phone just says no service, searching. is anyone else having the same problem? please help dawg
This iphone5 has a bad battery life. Appalling reception quality, and I've checked with other owners across O2, Orange, TMobile and vodafone and the same problems exist. The phone just cuts out in the middle of a call even when showing full reception. Also the phone casing heats up very quickly. Are Apple actually going to do something about this iphone5 or have they given up? They are likely to take Microsoft's crown when it comes to releasing unprepared and not fully tested products to market! Very very very disappointed and frustrated!
The order you placed with ourselves has come back from our supplier as rejected, because you gave the incorrect network. We still had to pay the administration cost of this unlock however, so we are unable to refund you.Your handset is actually locked to vodafone EgyptAs a goodwill gesture, we would be willing to unlock this for a low amount. Please see our pricelist page to see if we can unlock this network, and then get in touch, and we will inform you of the additional amount. what i do now ?
Soooooo, after driving myself crazy with vodafone italy and their 4G network, i finally have answers that i'd like to share. 1) you must "activate" 4G service, either online (through "190y" on their site) or directly from them (the store, or what i did, they have a live chat feature on their site). 2) you have to wait to receive a text msg saying it has been activated. 3) wait until iOS 6.1 is released (end of the month). I have a factory unlocked iPhone 5 that i bought in italy and have traveled to the states with recently. as soon as i landed i had 4G service, without any modifications or updates or doing anything. i told voda all of this, and after 3 days, i got some answers. after doing some research, basically the new update with allow the 5 to use vodafones frequency. bam. there you have it. no 4G until the update. oh, and you have to pay 10 euro a month extra for it. thanks vodafone :-/
I have been reading forums all evening and spent 30 mins on the phone to my service provider . In the end I found no answers from them so a trial and error session sorted it . After several resets of everything including all data and network I called service provider to report I had full 3G on my ipad3 and could not access the Internet . It worked fine last week and today on wifi . No software/hardware changes since . The lady on the phone asked me to do the same usual things , on/off , reset , backup refresh , hard reset Blah blah blah , none of this worked ?? She could not help further after our 30 minute conversation , pretty bad service considering I'm a paying customer , subscribing to a data contract whilst on wifi . I decided to check the carrier settings , I turned off the seek carrier option and chose vodafone uk on the list , then went to the carrier info , was showing 9.1 or something , I clicked this connected back to wifi and an option to upgrade carrier settings popped up , I updated the driver release , turned off wifi and the 3G came on . No need to backup / reset / delete anything . Please try this if your having the same issue . I know many are as I have been reading a lot of the same .
Hi. I need some help please. Can I trust imei.info with the correct information about my iPhone 4s? I got an iPhone 4s from a friend and I want to unlock it. imei.info said that my phone's carrier is vodafone Netherlands - US CDMA Service Picker policy. Is this correct? what does US CDMA Service Picker policy mean? Under setting it says that the carrier is Verizon. Help please.
My mini IPad, was bought for me in the UK for Christmas, I want to download apps but it requires my bank card details, it then tells me I cannot downlod the apps because I have not registered with I tunes, whats that all about. So we then go to register with Itunes and put all the details in and it declines because there is no postcode, but Apple there are NO POST CODES IN egypt,, Can someone in the community tell me in layman terms how to overcome this please, otherwise like my KINDLE, it will end up on the top shelf of my wardrobe unwanted, and eventually get thrown out as an unwanted piece of rubbish. I am very dissapointed.
I got an iPhone 5 from Heera Panna, 64 GB, but often calls fail on that. The calls are dropped though I have a full signal at my home at Hajiali (and where I used iPhone 4 with no problems at all). Already tried removing all apps, upgrading to 6.0.2, a new vodafone SIM card, Resetting Network Settings. Nothing works. Can you suggest what to do? I think the iPhone 5 was bought in Singapore and the model is MD663ZA Apple support in India said that I can exchange it for another piece only at an Apple store abroad. But they have no clue about the problem or solution. Would appreciate your input. Sid

Hi,For the past week and a half, all of a sudden my viber calls, skype calls and facetime will not work on my iphone 4S. I can text on my viber, however when I make or receive calls the person on the other end can’t hear me, it just cuts in and out and then disconnects. The same thing is happening on skype & facetime, it connects for 2 seconds, can’t hear and then cuts off. I have tried re-installing both of the aps, and still the same thing is happening, and it is becoming quite upsetting living in another country (UK) from home, I have no way of contacting anyone. Can someone please help me, do I need to contact vodafone? I am on a contract with vodafone UK, and the phone was purchased in the UK. Thank you.
