URGANT iPhone 4 stuck on recovery mode

I just got my iPhone 3 days ago! (Saturday) I went over to my cousins house to add some songs. When I connected the USB cable to his computer and my iPhone it went straight into recovery mode. I thought it was his computer so I went home to my computer and the same problem occurred! I searched everywhere to try to solve this issue. I even downloaded some stuff that supposily forces iDevices out of recovery mode but nothing worked. I also tried holding the 2 buttons and bam, nothing. Please, anyone with a solution, please help me.update Whenever I try to restore, I get an error message. It happens for firmware 4.0,4.01, and 4.0.2. I just got back in country, and downloaded the case app to take care of the 3 iPhone 4s I bought on day one. What do I find? Sorry, though the program is still on-going Ive passed my time limit. Bad Experience with Apple iPhone 4

Hi all,I bought an iphone 4 from three mobile from their online site. Last Thursday I received the iphone, but it is faulty. No sound at all, no dial tone , no ring tone, etc. Then I went to 3 and they told me it is faulty , need 2 weeks to get new one for me, while I still need to pay for the plan even though I cannot make a call. The other solution is go to apple store, so they can give me a new phone faster. So I go to apple store, one of the guy check my phone and say it is faulty but I need to make appointment in order to get new phone. I make sure with him that I can get a new phone on next appointment, he say yes. So appointment on Monday (3 days later). Which I thought not too bad. Some important thing happen on Monday, I cannot go to apple. So I gave them a call to change my appointment. But they told me they cannot change my appointment online, ask me to make new appointment online. And the guy over the phone seem so busy that he does not bother to help me make reservation online while i in front of my computer. So I go to their site, next thing I found out is there are so many appointment type, so not sure which to book. I just book one of them at Wednesday. Then on Wednesday I go to apple again, this time they tell me I make wrong appointment so I cannot meet the person who need to check my phone(only need 5 mins). Ok seem that partly my fault this time, I accept it. So he make another appointment for me on Friday.Friday, go to apple store again. Finally they manage to check the phone and said it is faulty. Can replace new one for me. Guess what happen? No stock. Wow, and tell me I need to wait another week. What is the different with 3? You guys still need 2 weeks and wasting all my precious time for it. So I need to keep paying my bill for 2 weeks while I cannot make a phone call? 3 times went to apple and still cannot get a new phone? It is my fault that I bought a $1k dollar phone and it is not working? Am I so free that I can keep going to your store?I am so **** off. IPhone 4 iOS 4

iPhone 4 Bumber Offer Ends 23 Aug 2010

Its the end of a wonderful day and I just got off the phone with Apple. Evidently the window closed to get your bumper for the new iPhone4 on 23 August... frustrated to say the least. I wish I had never purchased this phone. So here we are with two $300 cell phones (and a high monthly cell phone bill) that drops calls like a hot potato... I am rethinking my loyalty to the Apple Brand. Apple cant provide a solution for the antenna problem until the 24 hour news cycle ends. iPhone 4G iOS 4

iPhone 3G under iOS4.0 wont charge properly

Ive been experiencing a lot of issues after updating my 3G to iOS4.0 and I fully agree with the other topics reporting about draining batteries, inappropriate responsiveness of the touchscreen due to lacking memory, etc.Steve, that update has ruined my great iPhone 3G and the current situation is unsatisfactory! The way Im feeling now is quite comparable to the time I changed from my Windows Mobile 5.0 phone to the iPhone 3G - but now the other way around - all the great touch responsiveness has gone and the device feels so lame! The most annoying issue however is, that the phone wont charge properly anymore. Let me describe:So after having freshly booted I plug in my 3G with the original charger (same situation when I connect via USB to my PC) and my Phone starts charging. The battery gets warm/hot, the percentage starts increasing and I see the icon displayed in the top bar. However after I open some applications, do my mail, write some SMS etc. I noticed that my phone isnt actually charing any more?! Well the charger-icon up right is still displayed, the battery is still getting warm/hot, but my battery percentage is already decreasing! This even goes so far that it runs out of battery and turns itself off while its connected to the power-supply!Rebooting the phone makes it charge again - however only until you start reopening apps.Well my solution until now: Plug in your phone in and turn it off - that at least makes the phone charge properly but is very annoying! iPhone 3G iOS 4

iPhone4 bumper

The iPhone4 bumper MC59ZM/A is a total mismatch to the iPhone. In order to sync or recharge the phone you have to remove the bumper each time an unacceptable solution to preventing dropped calls. It seems to me a redesign and new offering to iPhone4 customers is mandatory. It is like getting undressed each time you want to sync and recharge the phone. What unnecessary motions and a waste of time to carry out when a properly designed bumper would not require undressing and redressing the iPhone. iphone4 iOS 4

Making note of your incoming call on IPhone 4 while driving

You normally receive phone calls on your IPhone 4 while driving everyday on busy roads. There might be a situation where you want to make note of a particular name/number for call back. Stopping the car or finding a pen or paper to write that particular number while driving might be all unsafe & cumbersome. Is there any way to press a key/button on your phone & you can save only that particular number for call back reference. I understand that you have a list of recent calls but imagine if you received nines or ten calls one after the other (it is not unusual for a busy businessman!) and you did not make note of that particular number to call back when you are finished with your driving, it would cause frustration. It would be even more frustrating to call back all those ten numbers from your recent list just to find out your particular number of interest. Any easy & quick solution please? Cannot sync contacts with Outlook 2007 iPhone

I've googled how to do this and everything points to a method I have already tried that has not worked. It says I should go to the info tab of my iTunes / iPhone sync options and check Sync conatcts with, and choose Outlook. The problem is my drop down is empty.I have tried reloading iTunes, used latest version, used an older version. Nothing has made Outlook appear in the dropdown list. I'm running Outlook 2007, Vista, and iTunes.Any suggestions would be appreciated. I tried to fix this for a client and have only limited access to his iPhone so I need a solution that works.

Facetime Waiting for Activation Issue When switching S cards iPhone 4

I have an unlocked iPhone 4 from the UK. I first had an Orange France SIM card installed and all went well... Facetime was working fine. However, when I came to Dubai I inserted my local (Etisalat) SIM. The phone was functioning ok, except for Facetime. When I tried to switch it on from Settings, it kept saying Waiting for Activation.I am an advanced user. So, all basic things are checked: WiFi, Tried to reboot phone, tried hard reset, even tried Total restore, tried different WiFi network, SMS working, MMS working, 3G working...etc. I even tried the solution on Apples site (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4246).... Still no luck.Few things to note:1) I have a friend who has iPhone 4 on the same Etisalat network, and his Facetime works fine. The only difference is that Etisalat was the first SIM he put in.2) I tried to switch back to my Orange SIM while still in Dubai, and at first, Facetime showed Waiting for Activation, BUT when I rebooted, it was active and working fine... tried to insert the Etisalat SIM after that... and back to waiting for activation issue.3) Did same above with my AT&T SIM ... and got same result as with Orange France SIM4) Tried to call 888-facetime and they just referred me to the case referenced above, and the simple answer that your carrier may not support it! Thanks!!! I told the guy I know someone on the same network working on Facetime.I think the problem is that Facetime needs to be re-registered from the Orange # to the Etisalat # and for some reason that is not happening smoothly to the Etisalat #... However, how can I get that done... I cannot even find an email address to send to apple regarding this problem...If any of the Apple Tech staff reading this please respond!!! THANKS. iPhone 4 iOS 4

What Would You iPhone 4

Good morning fellow Apple Discussion Users,I would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem with getting help from Apple on the iPhone 4 antenna issue, and if so what was it that you were able to do to get the problem fixed. Please read my situation below and let me know if there is anything you think that might help.Thank you.On Friday the 13th of August 2010 I drove an hour to the nearest Apple retail store that had the iPhone 4 32 GB in stock and purchased my first iPhone. Although it isnt too significant to my experience please keep in mind that in the past four to five years I have been a loyal customer to Apple by purchasing three MacBook Pros, two iPod Touches, one iPod Video, and subscribing to MobileMe.When I arrived at the Apple retail store I spoke with an Apple iPhone specialist and asked him if the iPhone 4 antenna problem been resolved yet. He replied that it has and that Apple has started a free iPhone 4 case program as the solution. I asked him to show me what cases I would have to choose from and he replied saying that they do not carry any cases at all in the store because corporate needed all the case inventory to distribute to those that need it. The iPhone specialist then explained to me that I would need to download the free case App. from the App. store and follow the directions. So, after spending thirty dollars more than what I had already projected to purchase the iPhone for, I went home and synced my new iPhone with my iTunes account and updated my iPhone to ISO 4.0.2. I then proceeded to load the free iPhone case program. I then chose the case I wanted and completed my order. I then received my order confirmation by email, which said that the case wouldnt be shipped until September 14, 2010. This didnt bother me because the case was free and I had already put screen protectors on my iPhone and didnt really see the need for a case right now anyways. However, after using the iPhone Saturday and today and experiencing bad reception and dropped calls I became quite irritated, as I never experienced this with my previous wireless carriers that I have used in my same current coverage area. I even checked AT&Ts coverage map and it listed my area of having full support and coverage of both data and voice. It was then made clear to me that the issues I was having was related to Apples iPhone 4 antenna problem, so I decided to call them about this and to see what they can do about getting this resolved because there is no way that I should have to wait close to a month for a case to resolve the issue while spending money on my service plan for crappy service due to an Apple defect.I spent over an hour speaking with two different Apple customer service agents and I had three dropped calls during this period. I asked them if there was anyway to just give me a credit of the retail value for the case I picked and then cancel my free case order, so that I may go purchase a case at AT&T now and fix the problem I am having with my iPhone. After the second time of having my phone call dropped I had to call them back myself and ended up talking to someone different than before. This gentleman had informed me that they had cancelled my free case order, but can not give me any type of credit or rebate for a case, so that I can go purchase one. He then had his supervisor get on the line with us.As you can imagine, this really ticked me off! So, not only did they cancel my order for the free case without my consent, but now they are telling me that there is nothing they can do to help me except to restart my original order and to wait until it is delivered to me to fix the iPhone antenna problem. I explained to them how unprofessional and inappropriate it is to have to make a customer of theirs let a lone a very loyal one have to wait for almost a month for a case in order to fix a defect that is their fault, but yet there are stores that have iPhone 4 cases in stock that could fix the problem right away. They of course didnt care and continued to tell me that there isnt anything they can do to help. I then proceeded to ask them if a $25.00 case/credit/rebate is worth losing a loyal customer and $360.00, as I will be returning the iPhone 4 if they are unwilling to fix the problem thus making me have to go out and spend my own money to fix the issue myself in order to have a functioning iPhone. Their response was more of the same that they offer a free case and that I would just have to wait and what I decide to do is my decision to make. So, it seems to me that Apple really doesnt care if they lose a customer or a loyal one for that matter. I then proceeded to call and speak with an Apple Care agent and of course there wasnt anything that the gentleman I talked to could do, but at least he was understanding of reason and also agreed that the whole iPhone case program is flawed and adds to the problem more so than it does to fix it. After speaking with the Apple Care agent we agreed that once Apple realized the solution to the antenna defect that anyone who was to buy an iPhone 4 should have been given a bumper or case at the same time as they purchased their iPhone. Ok, so you may not have a choice in what model you get or color, but if its free and it fixes the defect immediately then who cares, I know I dont.I would much rather sport a hot pink band of rubber around my iPhone if that meant I would not have dropped calls or bad call reception when I am in a fully covered area. Then when I had the ability to do so I would buy a replacement of my choice. Its not like Apple is offering any free cases that I would personally buy for my iPhone if I had the choice to do so anyways. Well, I decided it would be in my best interest to first go out and spend my own money for a case to see if that in fact solves the problem before spending the gas and time to drive back to the Apple store to return the iPhone, which I would then have to wait for the credit to post on my credit card account. Not to mention cancel my new account with AT&T and be without both a phone and service until I received my credit to buy a new phone.I would like to know what everyone else feels about what I had to say about my experience with Apple today. I personally think Apple needs to get their act together and priorities straight.Thanx,AMMOCAN MacBook Pro 5,3-2.8, 4 GB RAM  MacBook Pro 4,1-2.5, 4 GB RAM Mac OS X (10.6.4) Black Satin  MBP Speck Cover; 23" Dell SP2309W LCD Flat Panel  IPhone 4

720p MP4 H.264 video not syncing iPhone 4

Hi, Ive got an odd problem with video playback on my iPhone. I have one 63mb video which is just over four minutes in length. Its resolution is 1280 x 720, encoded in H.264, bit rate of 122kbps, total bit rate of 2122kbps. It syncs to my iPhone and plays flawlessly.I have two lengthy projects Ive exported to MP4 with the same specs as above. The main difference is that theyre both closer to two hours in length. iTunes displays the same info, but slightly different bit rates and the total bitrate is not available. These two videos dont sync to the iPhone. ...because it cannot be played on this iPhone.I have tried selecting both and in the advanced menu selecting Create iPod or iPhone version, but this cuts the vertical resolution in half. Ive looked around online but havent found a solution. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. 2.4ghz Macbook Pro iOS 4

New SMS not moving to top of threads in list iPhone

Hello,I have just updated my iphone to the iphone4 (having successfully used an original iphone for 2 years with no problems) and am getting very frustrated with it! I am now onto my second phone within a week and my third sim card, yet nothing seems to fix the problem that I have!! If anyone has any clue what could be causing this problem, or have a solution, I would be extremely grateful! I have phoned the technical team at o2 and they havent a clue! Basically, in the SMS message application, when someone send me a new text message, instead of that persons thread jumping to the top and getting a little blue dot next to it, it stays where it is in my list of threads/contacts and the last message showing on the screen is the one that I have sent them previously. Therefore I can not see that they have sent me a new message as their thread is not at the top and the message itself isnt showing until I actually click in their thread to see it. Also, when I come out of the app, the red indicator doesnt go away. Its almost like my phone is not registering that there is a new message apart from when it first flashes up on my screen. To get the messages in order I have to keep resetting my phone. I have completed a full restore on my phone, replaced the phone and replaced the sim card and nothing seems to help.Any help or advice would be much appreciated!!thanks - Paula iPhone 4 iOS 4

Back Button on Messages iPhone

Ive had my iPhone since July 1st, and until today, this has only happened to me once. But today, it has now happened twice, and Im wondering what is going on here.Sometimes when I open up a conversation with someone in my messages, I can read the text, and reply if I choose too, but the back and edit buttons are mysteriously gone? First thing I did was to back out of the message and go back in. Didnt work. Then I tried locking the phone, and then going back in. Didnt work. So far, the only solution that works is to turn the phone completely off and turn it back on. Which isnt a problem really, it is just something that I dont like doing and find it inconvenient. Not to mention the fact that it could just be me doing something simple wrong, and causing the trouble. I appreciate all responses and/or help that any of you may give me! Thanks in advance! Migrating from iPhone 3G to iPhone 4

Ive already read similar posts that posed the same question. The replies referenced Apple Support article HT2109. However, there are a couple of steps obviously missing from this article. Here are the issues Im concerned with.1. The iPhone 4 comes with a new SIM card. At what point in the migration process is that card supposed to be installed in the new iPhone 4?2. I was told by ATT that the new iPhone must be activated by calling ATT. Again, at what point in the migration process does the phone need to be activated or is it activated by iTunes somehow?3. My iPhone 3G is running the latest version of iOS. The iPhone 4 fresh out of the box is not. Will this cause a problem? Will the iPhone 4s OS be upgraded during the migration process?Someone has suggested starting fresh on the iPhone 4 instead of migrating. Id rather not have to install the at least 50 apps or migrate all of my email settings, so this is not an optimal solution. PowerMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)

How to copy folder settings from iPhone to iTunes 3G

iTunes corrupted its settings on my Mac yesterday. I managed to get it to see my music and my apps again, so on the desktop everything is now working OK.However, it seems to have lost all my apps settings for my iPhone. When I tell it to sync my apps it shows me that its going to copy all the apps across onto my iPhone again. This wouldnt bother me, except that its going to wipe out most of the folders that I painstakingly copied all my apps into.Does anyone know of a way to import the folders (or the folder settings) into iTunes from an iPhone (sort of a Senuti for Apps)? IPhone 3G Software Update Problems-What we Apple

Been having problems with my IPhone 3G ever since i updated the software and finally went into the store today to speak with someone.Firstly, i was told that the software isnt for the iphone 3G and that it says this in the small print - my question then is why does it prompt you to install the new software?! surely apple are clever enough to make sure it doesnt install new software on phones that are not compatible!?Second, once I spoke to someone else he advised that it was a common problem and as yet they havent got a solution?! So i am just meant to carry on with a substandard product that is continually dropping calls, not allowing me to hang up calls, behaving really slow and interfering with my business?!They told me a phone restore would help and sent me away, Ive done this twice now and it didnt and it is still playing up. Dont waste your time if they have told you to do that. It doesnt work.Usually you get great service from apple but they have really dropped the ball... why would they allow for a software update to 3G phones if it slows it down and messes up your product?!My phone contract is up for renewal next month and was going to get the new iphone 4 despite the problems but may now opt for a Blackberry... NEVER thought i would say that again! My question is - what is going on with Apple and what do they want us to do? Iphone 3G iOS 4

Iphone activation. 3G

Hi...I was just aware bout the iPhone activation requires the sim from which you purchase your iPhaone after any restoration or updates. Well my problem here is, I bought the iPhone from a friend which came from the states. I didnt know which carrier he used during activation.Ive already restored my phone because it suddenly froze. So after restoring it I found out my SIM was not supported. Im using Digi Telecommunication (Carrier in Malaysia) before this it worked I meant I can receive and make outgoing calls.Well I was hoping if there is any solution for my problem since I cant even update my carrier setting, now the phone is in Emergency call mode and just finished updated it with iOS 4.0.1. Anyone out there has a solution? please help me...THANKS. DELL Windows XP

My Open Letter to Steve Jobs Apple iPhone 3G

Dear Mr. Jobs,I wish to congratulate you in your ability of rejuvenating the Apple brand over the past decade. The first computer my family ever purchased was an Apple IIc. My school computers were always Apple hardware. However, for most of my adult life I’ve been a PC and never owned a post iMac Apple product but always envied those around me. When I have to work in the Computer labs on EKU Campus, I choose Mac. Because of this long distance love affair, I received my first iPhone as a gift, and my view of Apple as a company and a brand has dramatically changed. In 2007, I was given an iPhone (8 GB) for Christmas from my wife; she had been secretly saving for the purchase for several months. Much to her chagrin, it failed to work out of the box. She cried and apologized all day. The AT&T store said that it was a SIM Card reader issue. When the store manager called Apple Customer Service, they explained that I had to return the phone directly to Apple with a turnaround time of approximately 10 business days. The store manager did not understand why this was necessary when they had iPhones in stock. He chose to replace the original, even though it was not company policy (January 2008).This iPhone was wonderful and I showed it off to all of my friends, family, and co-workers. However, it began to develop yellow and green streaks on the screen and air bubbles under the glass plate. When I took the iPhone to the Apple store in Knoxville, they apologized and happily replaced it (March 2008). Its replacement developed air bubble issues and I continued to use the phone until it was unresponsive (September 2008). I returned this phone to the Knoxville store as well and was given a replacement. Both of these phones were given to me without a box and it is my impression that they may have been refurbs or returned phones that had been restored to factory settings within the store. My fourth iPhone began to have syncing issues, App refresh issues, and crashes with the OS 2.2 update. These problems continued with the 2.2.1 and 3.0 updates, it also developed air bubbles. After contacting Apple Customer Service, I was able to solve the problem, only to have them begin again after approximately 13+ usage hours. Frustrated by these failings, my wife and I called; then, emailed Apple Customer Service with a letter similar to this one. At that time, my wife received a call during the day, and she was made aware of the fact that none of the previous issues had been reported by the Knoxville store. In addition, the Apple records did not have my current phone shown as being used by an AT&T customer. Their response to the issues was a iPhone 3G replacement that would cost me an additional $99 because the old one was out of date. My wife agreed not knowing that I had this same option available through an AT&T upgrade. I returned my iPhone Edge to Apple; since, my wife had agreed to the trade and it did not change my upgrade schedule with AT&T. However, I was disappointed in the fact that up to this point, my wife had spent $600 on my iPhone and I had yet to receive a device that worked. I mentioned this to the Customer Service rep and she seemed genuinely concerned but did not offer any additional reimbursements. When I received my current iPhone 3G last June, It worked well and I was extremely happy with the OS 3 updates. However, with each update since the original, I have had to reinstall USB drivers on all three of my computer. Starting in April 2010, after an update, my iPhone 3G no longer registers as a camera on any of my computers. I have reinstalled USB drivers and completed two restores. The first restore was required because of an attempted/failed sync that sent the phone into a cycle of unstoppable refreshes once the phone was unlocked. (I lost approx. 150 photos of my daughter as a result of this restore.) The iPhone continued to freeze and refresh unexpectedly; so, I completed another “successful” restore.Currently, the iPhone will sync with iTunes but still does not show as a proper camera. I have reinstalled all Apple software; however, this has not solved the problem. In addition to the sync/download issues, streaming podcast via wifi has become a consistent problem. It will crash 7 out of 10 times while streaming on my home network. I choose this option because I try to save space for pics since I cannot currently download onto my computer. I must say that my frustrations with the iPhone have begun to ware my patience with the device and Apple as a brand. Whereas, I use to taut the abilities of my phone and the Customer Service, now I’ve become unimpressed and repeatedly lowering my expectations of performance. The convenience of being able to share digital pictures of my daughter with her grandparents has been wonderful. When it works, it is a great tool; I even convinced my in-laws to buy one. Yet the most disheartening thing was a comment my wife made after we watched the Keynote last week. She said, “What? I can’t believe they have a better phone already. Isn’t that a fourth upgrade or something? I feel like such an idiot for spending $500 on a phone that has never really worked. I should have waited.”Now, I am wondering why I even want to keep my phone. As it stands I could walk into to AT&T get a free phone, reduce my monthly phone bill, and just run my iPhone 3G like an iPod Touch that sort of works. I understand hardware limitations often restrict software ability. Does this mean that Apple anticipates making their devices obsolete within two generations? If so, why were we not told this? I want to be a loyal Apple consumer. I even had visions of using my awesome iPhone as way to convince my wife that we should become a Mac family. Yet, my history with this device and the current view of consumer bounce-back on iPhones, begins to worry me. As of right now, I don’t know if I want to upgrade to a new iPhone 3GS let alone 4. It seems like I would just seem gullible when the next one no longer works. Part of me says cut my losses, wait out my family plan contract with AT&T, and go somewhere else. Maybe, after the iPhone 6 or whatever comes out, enough of the kinks will be fixed, and it will be worth my money to purchase again. However, the rest of me, remembers writing DOS code on my family’s Apple IIc and watching the floppy disk boot. Those moments changed my life. I’ve been using and teaching with computers ever since.________________________________________________________I have contacted/emailed Gizmodo, iLounge, Engadget, TUAW, and Macworld hoping to generate a response or at least some answers about the quality control issues I mentioned in my Open Letter to Steve Jobs. Since writing the letter (06-14-10), I have completed three full restores, all of which were backup from February. The first one was prompted by an iTunes download glitch. I attempted to download two podcasts, the downloads failed and wiped my entire music catalog off of the iPhone. So I decided to restore to a previous backup. While using the first restore, I belieive I may have found one possible solution to the camera issue. Picasa may be deleting info packets as it deletes pictures after downloads. I attempted to download some random pics as a test for the now working driver; then, deleted them using Picasa, like I’ve done in the past. Immediately afterward the computer no longer recognized the camera. After a second reboot (again the February backup) no problems until Itested the camera driver and it happened again. Hence a third restore was necessary. The third time I used the Windows Photo Gallery manager and deleted the pics using the iPhone, no problems. It seems to be working now, but at least three phone calls were bumped directly to voice-mail during the day, two before and one after the restores. This has been a newly recurring event since about mid-May but is starting to occur more often now. This is my fifth iPhone and all have had some kind of issue; bad SIM card reader, air bubbles, color streaking, or as mentioned above, repeated software crashes. Its not jailbroken nor have I ever attempted that process. Could anyone at your site tell me if my horrible history with the iPhone is close to common or radically unlucky. I am thinking about updating from a 3G to the 3GS using the Radio Shack trade-in credit but am very skeptical of what I might get in return.__________________________________________________________________________It has been a month since my first set of emails went out. Yesterday, I went to the new Apple Store/Genius Bar in Lexington, KY and was told that they would order me a replacement. I dont know for sure if this will be a new one or a refurb but am skeptical. I am also wondering if it comes out of the box with iOS4 does that mean Apple is knowing hardware with faulty software. Could this be a suable offense or simply a bad business move. My deepest concern is the fact that my original letter sent to Apple has gone unnoticed.I guess what I am trying to say is, what can anyone tell me that would give me hope to stay with Apple? iPhone 3G iOS 4 PC Laptop

iPhone 3G iOS4 major problems

Well, this is my first post on the forum, which i am quite new, but after reading the same issues with the iPhone 3g OS4 update that i have i thought its time to speak my mind on here, rather than making severe complaints over the home landline to the Apple Support team, with the same old question they ask have you tried restoring your phone? with my answer being YES, about 5 times daily! LOLNow i have been a keen Apple user for the last 4 years, being a professional photographer using my Macbook Pro and iMac are quite the tools i need, with no problems ever (touch of wood), until... my iPhone decided to die after 1 year of purchase when the IOS4 came out. Yes... my phone is the slowest thing i own sad to say! It is extremely painful to navigate around. Put it this way... my phone took about 6 minutes to just open 1 text message i received, in which i went to make a cup of coffee and to my surprise when i came back, it was still trying to open the message! The iOS4 software has killed MY 3G, and getting it back to a previous version is quite the mission too. What makes things even worse is when i back up and sync my 3G, iTunes decides to tell me that a file is missing on my iPhone to complete the sync! I ask why? What is going on? So, each and every time my phone becomes slow and sluggish, a system restore and several resets have been made. When i do this, half of the contacts that are on my iPhone are viewable, and half are not! Emails pop up... from months back that i have deleted, and i am talking thousands of them! When scrolling through my apps, or even just to get to the messages or Facebook, my apps vanish, and YouTube is stuck down the left side of my phone only showing half an app button! The list goes on and on, and for a while this is something i have had to put up with. I make back ups all the time, just to be safe, but it is quite the boredom to put back together when i have made a restore. I think what i am trying to say is my iPhone is useless, sad to say really Oh... did i mention my iPhone likes to turn off at random moments, not just in a call... but when on charge plugged into the mains? Is this a way for Apple to make their 3G and possibly the 3Gs customers upgrade to the 4?Are Apple actually looking into these problems? Makes me wonder...If anyone has a solution that does not involve jailbreaking or holding a hammer over the 3G ready for some destruction, please by all means, help all of us 3G users out.

S phone number iPhone

GAHH! So, i put a sim into my new iphone 4 to be able to get into the phone, then after I ended up switching the SIM to my new number but on the phone in the settings it still displays the old number of the first SIM i inserted. I tried doing a restore thinking that that would do the trick but sadly it didnt. Do you guys know of any solution to this? I just want the phone settings to display my new number. iPod function of iPhone 3G doesnt work

I couldnt find the solution during my search..I was at a friends house today. I wanted to play a song on my iPhone through his computer. We hooked it up and iTunes started to sync. My friend grabbed the iPhone, unplugged it and rebooted the phone while it was rearranging the library (or something along those lines). Since then, the iPod function hasnt worked. It will start, but then close withing ~3secs. When I connect to iTunes, all of the songs are there, but theyre grayed out and I cant add, play or delete any of the songs on the iPhone. As far I know, everything on the phone is supposed to sync manually.I have a backup from May, and I just finished backing up the phone right now.Any ideas on how I might be able to fix the iPod function? If I had to, there isnt too much different from my May backup to now, but some. Of course, Im not even sure if that would work. Thanks for any help. PC iPhone OS 3.1.3

Can solution to iOS4 on 3G be on near horizon iPhone

These are three news stories I found online documenting some of the issues we have all written about concerning IOS4 and our 3G iPhones:http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2010/07/28/apple-investigates-reports-of-problems-with-ios4-on-iphone-3g/http://www.slashgear.com/apple-conducts-probe-into-iphone-3g-ios4-issues-2995825/http://www.slashgear.com/apple-offers-up-ios-4-1-beta-2-for-devs-2895665/The word is out. Apple is investigating. Im certain they will offer a remedy if we keep the heat on them. If not, they WILL lose current and future customers and that does not make sense--or dollars and cents--for any company to do in any economy, especially like this one. Personally, I think we got lost in the shuffle with the iPhone4 Antenna Hoopla which appears to either be created or substantially enflamed by the media looking to take knocks at Apples reputation for excellent products. Cmon, Apple, dont just say you Love all your iPhone customers, SHOW US!!!Message was edited by: RICKRACK305

iPhone 3G upgraded to iOS 4 Not happy Theres downgrade for you

Like a lot of people Ive been really disappointed by the amazing piece of crap my iPhone 3G became after upgrading to iOS 4. Unresponsive... Buggy... Bla... Bla... Bla...For those who chose the wrong pill like me, theres a way to roll back to iOS 3.1.3 quite easily. Of course the solution is not provided by Apple... Of course you will loose all your custom settings and sms.Have it synchronized on your Mac first to have all your pictures, ringtones, apps, contacts, music copied on your Mac.Go to http://www.sebby.net/595-downgrading-from-ios4/ to have the full story and to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ to get your 3.1.3 firmware.Happy downgrade! Latest update issues iPhone 3G

Since downloading the latest update I have been experiencing these issues:Calendar events take a few seconds to upload. All events disappear, then reappear. Often loose connection to cellular network. Only solution is power off and restart phone. Never experienced this before. Predictive text is now too predictive- even when spelling words correctly, after hitting space bar word gets changed. The most frustrating is losing network connection. I will have full bars signal, but no 3G or e. Cannot receive/make calls, texts or email while the phone is in this state. Happens all the time with no apparent cause. When I uploaded the new software, I did a reset for my phone. Returned it to its factory settings and did not upload the backup. Is this Apples way to force their new iPhone 4 on me?It would be more frustrating surely given its antenae issues... iPhone 3G iOS 4
