So after the latest update (iTunes 8.0 and iPhone OS3), iTunes all of a sudden decided to play dumb and has started to ignore my iPhone. Autoplay and something of Adobe however, still recognize the camera within. A while ago I had the exact opposite problem, which I fixed by fiddling around in the device manager. This time however, fiddling around is not possible since... the iPhone does not show up in device manager! I know about the necessary driver file USBAAPL.SYS, and since I thought it was broken, I decided to remove the file hoping it would be re-created for some reason. Expecting my PC to blow up when I reconnected my iPhone, it seemed the situation hadnt changed at all - Autoplay starts up together with this Adobe thingy, and in My Computer I see a fun little camera icon saying Apple Iphone right of it. I am hopeless! New incarnations of iTunes (reinstalling iTunes) keep the problem unchanged. I am even starting to think my iPhone itself is broken.Help is greatly appreciated! Windows Vista
Last week I bought the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus. It was working perfectly fine when I was 2.2.1 but since I upgraded to 3.0 It stopped working. When I connect it the transmitter the charge screen flashes on and off, almost as if Im unplugging/plugging the power cord rapidly. Is it possible that its broken or did the new update just rendered it useless? iPhone OS 3.0
Since updating to 3.0, although not straight after, the home button has become very temperamental. There isnt any difference in how it feels to press it (i.e. it doesnt feel broken) but sometimes I press it and it just doesnt do anything, whether it be waking from sleep or closing applications. Other times it will work OK, but this seems to be in the minority at the moment.Ive done a reset which hasnt made any difference.Has anyone else had this issue? Hey guys, I have another problem!Im currently on my third iPhone 3g (white). When I was given my third iPhone in the Apple Store, I instantly noticed it felt different. I was pretty sure it was a refurb, I have no problem with that, but I felt that the casing wasnt on right. The camera wasnt flush to the back, it stuck out, and so did the headphone jack. I thought I could get used to that, so I just left it, but recently I noticed that the screen moves when pressed in the top left corner, and on the bottom right corner below the screen, funny marks have appeared, like chips beneath the screen. I look after my iPhone very well, I never drop it, but I get loads of problems. I was wondering whether anyone would know whether Apple would let me trade it in, to cancel this ridiculous termination fee for my O2 contract, and let me pay for a 3G S. I know its unlikely, but I need a reliable phone for when I go on holiday, and it is my third faulty one! Thanks,Will. iPhone 3G (White) iPhone OS 3.0

Hello,my iPhone broke down, and in Belgium all warranty claims have to go via Mobistar/ Dynafix.I looked this company up on the internet, and all I got were horror stories about warranty refusal (due to water damage, other impossible to proof defects), iPhones that come back more broken than before, claims to pay 40 euros just to get an unfixed iPhone back,...To be honest Im afraid to even send my broken iPhone to them. Apparently Apple doesnt support iPhones in Belgium because I tried an official Service Provider, but they couldnt help me. Have to go to Mobistar -> Dynafix. So does anyone have positive experiences with repairs in Belgium? (I do want this iPhone fixed otherwise Ill lose all my progress in imob online The new iPhone 3Gs looks great, and if the old one gets repaired, I wont hesitate to buy the new one too. Thanks in advance for any reactions. Ill keep you informed on the progress. MBP Mac OS X (10.5.7) Iphone 3G

How does the iPhone choose between sending text through MMS or through SMS? For example, when a text message exceeds the 160 characters for single text message it must automatically get broken into the multi part SMS format, effectively sending 2 SMS which is recombined at the other end into one message. (is this correct?)This would end up costing me 50 cents to send the message, however if I then send a longer message that is broken into 3 parts for sending, I am getting charged 75 cents and this continues to increase by 25 cents per sms part. This can end up far more expensive than sending an MMS on my carrier as I am charged 50 cents per MMS.Also, it looks like when I send a photo via MMS with text as well it breaks it into an MMS for the picture, but sends a separate SMS? for the text. I cant confirm this as I havent seen my current bill where Ive sent these messages yet.Other phones let you actually select MMS or SMS for the message, either directly, or by allowing you to add a subject, however I cant see how to do this on the iPhone.I know that we can send emails which work out far far cheaper, but MMS is more instantaneous when not everyone checks their email on their phone, or dont have push notifications on because they want the battery to last more than a day without charge. Can anyone shed some light on this? iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.0 Virgin Mobile Australia
Hi All,Im hoping one of Apples staff will respond to this post. Im sorry it is long and rambling, but the interesting stuff is at the bottom, so stay with me...please. And yes Im a bit frustrated because my lovely iPhone has now been tied up for 9+ hours... not a good user experience. This post is really about the backup process itunes initiates whenever I attempt to sync my iphone. Ive never yet seen itunes get to the end of the backup. After the first 6 hours I get board and stop the process. iTunes is installed on Vista 64. Well last night I downloaded Itunes 3.0 update and kicked off the upgrade process in iTunes. All was well (and at the time of writing I guess still is). The backup kicked off at 21:54 on 17 June. It is now 8:11 on 18 June and the backup is still going. The progress bar is still increasing (no x available to cancel) and Ive the folder location in open in Windows Explorer. Last time I looked the backup folder contained some 21,000+ files. 1st file plist.status was written at 21:54. iTunes backup is still posting files to this folder!!!Using some pretty basic Windows Tools to see what was going on I found out the following.Apple backup uses 3 processes, one a Windows Service called AppleMobileDeviceService.exe. Another process called AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe and AppleMobileBackup.exe. They are all network enabled. AppleMobileDeviceService is the hub and listens on port 27015. It talks to the other two services on various & variable port range in the TCP/IP stack.Using Windows Performance Monitor I can see that the TCP conversation going on between AppleMobileDeviceService & AppleMobileBackup is running at between 9,000,000 Bytes a Minute (min) and 14,000,000 Bytes a Minute (max). That is 1.2 Megabits per Second (min) & 1.86 Megabits per Second (max). That too me is very slow when the USB 2.0 interface its connected to has a capacity of up to 480Mbits per second. It occurs to me that the methodolgy Apples Devs have chosen for the backup process appears to be incredibly flawed. I cant test whether the backup is also using compression, although I hope so because of the 21,000+ files (and climbing) in the backup folder to date they only add up to 200MBytes. My iPhone has 7 of its 8GBytes used, so I could be in for a very long haul before I get my updated iPhone 3.0 software.Apple, please this isnt a dig, I know Ive got Windows on the desk (its my day job)but I love my iPhone and AppleTV.Can you ask your Devs to explain why they chose to use such a slow methodology to underpin the iPhone backup service. Or, is it that the potential high speed backup that is possibel over TCP/IP is just very broken?Lastly, when is Apple going to fix this, because this backup thing is very broken and giving your customers an incredibly poor user experience.Anyway, hope this was a little bit informative for those suffering the same trying to get their iPhone upgraded to 3.0.ThanksPete. handcrafted+dell w7+vista+2008
Hey everybody. I have recently bought a used iPhone 3G black 8GB off eBay. I knew there were problems with the speaker and hold button, but they failed to mention it wouldnt work. So I contacted them and have yet to get a response. It is running 2.2.1 firmware. I believe it is jailbroken and unlocked. Under General Settings (Settings>General) it says the network is not available, and under Carrier it says (null) (null). It also will not Import my contacts from my SIM card. Is it possible to fix a broken speaker? (Speaker at bottom)I dont know what to do. Somebody please help me. MacBook 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (Late 2007) Mac OS X (10.4) 120 GB Hard Drive 1 GB Ram
Hello there,I have had my iPhone for 11 months now. I am not sure if this is normal for an iPhone to do. If I press the black area above the screen along the ear piece, the glass itself would press the LCD. When pressed, it distorts the color of the screen from black to gray and then returns to its normal state. To those of you guys who have an LCD monitor or TV, I think you would know what I am talking about. It is the same effect when you press the screen itself, distorting the image. Does anyone know if this is a normal aspect of the glass cover? I just hope this doesnt progresses to something worse. iPhone 3G
Dropped my iPhone recently and the next time I used it all I had on the display was a bright white screen. It seems to work but no display. Anyone else do this? Any way to fix it or is it toast? Anyone want to make me an offer for the parts?ThanksSteve iMac Mac OS X (10.5.7) 20 iSight
I bought an iphone about 10 days ago..The GPS (in all apps and as per normal) is wrong. Its always the same 3-4km off, in a north-easterly direction. Is there a setting that I can change to make this right, or is the GPS broken? And what action should I take? Its an iphone 3g, brand new. Other OS
How much does it cost to repair an iPhone 3G broken screen (outer glass) through the Apple store and how long does it take?
Just wanted to let people know incase anyone is having the same problem.Had problem with the loudspeaker/speaker phone option on my iPhone. Every time I pressed it during a call it would end the call/drop call or even freeze screen, sometimes emit a high pitch screech. However the speaker worked fine with watching movies, listening to music etc only had problem when calling. After digging about on net could not find much about it so went to see the Apple Genius today at Apple and after a few looks and checks run software check he said its not a software fault more than likely a hardware problem so replaced my poor broken iPhone (it served me well :-( ) for a nice shiny new one all within 20 minutes.Excellent customer service from friendly Apple guys and gals thats why I love Apple! macbook Mac OS X (10.5.7)
What do you guys use to clean the screen. It can get pretty smudged touching it all the time and pressing it up against your face when on a call. I know it comes with a soft cloth, does this scratch the screen? Also, I was trying to find something to clean it, like possibly using like some eye glass cleaning wipes, since the screen is glass anyways, it should be pretty safe.
Dropped my iphone. Was in the text application. Now all apps still work except texting. Also date is back to Jan 1st and time 00:00.Will the texting work again via a simple restore or syc? or is my phone broken.Cheers. iphone 3g Other OS
does your iphone get replace if you have the iphone care plane if your screen breaks? 3G Other OS
Hi. Im new here, but I think some insight might be helpful from you guys.I have a 16gb iPhone 3g. Ive had it since it came out, and its treated me very nicely. A few months ago, at college, I dropped my phone and cracked the very top right of the it (just a tiiiiny bit near the actual screen part of the phone). Everything functioned still, although it was mighty ugly and made me sad =(. Let me refresh you that it was back in Novemberish. Recently (last saturday), I was playing music for a get together from my phone through the headphone jack. The music was playing and all of a sudden stopped abruptly. I wasnt sure what happened so I checked it out. To my demise, the lock button, headphone jack, volume switches and vibrate switch were unresponsive. I did some research and found out that they all operate on the same sensor. Im not sure if this has to do with the glass crack that happened half a year ago, or what. I went to the Genius Bar to try and negotiate a new replacement, but supposedly, although it malfunctioned due to usage, I couldnt get it replaced.Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for the physical buttons on my iPhone being broken? Its killin me.Backbeat.I went to Apple Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Hi all,Sorry to be a broken record here but this issue is really bothering me.I upgraded from original iPhone in Dec 08. At that time the new 3g worked great. I had no issues with call quality or dropped calls unless I was in a really bad area. I work from home so most of my cell calls are from the exact same location all the time. I use it for work calls. In roughly March 09 things degraded. Dropped calls increased from once a month to one to two a day and often calls if they remained connected were useless garbage calls. My first action as suggested was a new sim card. No help.My second action was to use my AppleCare and get a new phone. Still no good.I then complained to AT&T and was told they had no records of changes but could not tell if a tower antenna had been changed slightly or not. But they also admitted to poor coverage in my area.Strangely I had NO ISSUES until 3 months into the 3g use. I am continuously pinging AT&T on the issue but pretty much that is like talking to a brick wall. Also my 3g (and my sons as well) has started to periodically change from a nice signal like -72 dbm to Searching... for a few seconds then back to -70 dbm. All without me moving one inch.To combat the problem here at home I purchased a cell extender. $300 unit that has an external antenna and repeater in the home. This puts my signal level at -65 dbm at my desk consistently but still I get garbled and dropped calls. My wifes flip phone also on AT&T seems to work fine. No issues here in the home. So this is specific to iPhone somehow or perhaps the band it is choosing to use.So I here asking for suggestions on what to try next. Any ideas would be welcome.I still have my original iPhone and one thing I have considered is moving my Sim card into my old phone and doing the iTunes restore thing. The question here is obviously Im paying for the 3g plan, I dont mind that but will the original iPhone work? Im assuming everything is linked by sim card so if that moves AT&T doesnt really care much about the hardware. Am I right in this?Id like to try using my original phone for a while and see if it has the same signal issues as the 3g. Oh ya... Ive tried the 3g both with 3g enabled and disabled and there is little difference. Also not using the iPhone is not an option... Im addicted and it is also my personal contacts, email, etc manager. Thanks in advance! MacPro 2x2.88, 10gb, MBP17 2.6ghz, 4gb, 250g HD, iPod 60gb video, iPhone 3G Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Hi guys! Today, I got a new iPhone 3g. My old iPhone 3G has its information stored currently into my MacBook. The guy at the Genius Bar gave me specific directions as to what I should do for my new iPhone when I plug it into iTunes. I dont remember what he said on how to get my information transferred to my new iPhone, but when I plugged my phone into my laptop. iTunes came up with this An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer: Register iPhone or Restore from the backup of (insert my name here). I dont know which option to choose at this point because Im afraid to pick the wrong option and my data wont transfer. Help?

I have had my iPhone 3G since release, and I always carry it in my jeans pocket. One time I had a new stone washed pair of jeans on me and there was still some sand residue in the pockets, and that scratched the chrome and dulled the plastic on the rear. However, I now also have two very, very annoying thin scratches on the glass front which I have no idea how they got there (jeans cloth shouldnt be able to do that to a screen). They create very annoying moire like patterns on the underlying display.Does anyone have any tips on how to remove them? Can I polish the screen with something? Has anyone tried?I guess I learned my lesson and for my next iPhone, Ill get a screen protector (Ive never used protectors for my mobile phones before, though, and never had problems with scratches). Recently using my iPhone i have noticed that i have two separate oil stain like spots on my LCD screen which stands out clearly against a light background, one of the spots is on the top third and second is on the last third of the screen? i would like to know if anyone has this problem? and if so what can i do?Another thing which has been annoying me lately is that my screen has a lot of dust particles inside of the glass, and theres nothing i can do to get rid of it! i mean this is an expensive piece of equipment and to see dust get inside you screen really lets me down from Apple. Dropped the thing and now the glass is shattered. Where do I take the 3G to have the glass replaced? iPhone 3G Windows XP
im very disappointed with APPLE Customer Service... Furious after spending 2 hours talking about service warranty, my iPhone 3G should be still under warranty until July 2009 (12 months).here is the story:the home button is slightly jammed and it has dust under the glass, so I took it in for warranty after reading forum replied that Apple can remove the dust as part of warranty without replacing the iphone... arrived at Customer Service and first thing they checked is a Liquid Indicator locate at the button of the iphone (same spot where the USB cable connect to) with a flash light. The rep told me that the Liquid Indicator have turned RED and the iphone is no longer under warranty. Im 100% sure the phone never being wet before... so Ive explained further that the issue is not a software nor hardware issue, is physical damage to the home button and want the dust to be remove... so the rep took my iphone to back office, and return with this replied. The liquid indicator have turned RED and the phone is no longer under warranty, if you want the 2 issues fix, the iphone have to be replace for a new one for HK$1700 (US$200+), I counter with saying that Apple from US can clean the dust and fix the home button without replacing the phone... why do I need to pay for this issue? the replied was that Asia-Pacific (including Australia) only do iphone replacement, and they cannot open the iphone itself... after another few minutes of debating. They called the Asia Apple customer service and found a Product Manger to go-over the same things... if the Liquid Indicator turned RED, the iphone is no longer under warranty. Again, I re-confirmed and say my iphone never being water by anything... and how could Apple determined if the warranty is valid by just this indicator (which is a piece a paper, white or red). I strongly state that I do NOT want to replace my iphone (because the screen color is how I like it... in fact, not all iphone screen is the same, Ive another one which display greener color). He insist Apple Engineer test these indicator is 100% accurate and if the indicator is RED, no warranty. So i ask whats my option, and the feedback is pay for the replacement or fix it myself or someone that I trust... Apple, whats this deal.... I paid good money to your firm (check my profile for all these hardwares). and all I get told is my iphone no longer under warranty and refuse to fix my 2 issues thats not relate to water damager.... Hello, home button jammed, whats relate to water damager? dust getting into my iphone is relate to water damage.... trust me Im furious and feel waste half of my day visiting one service centre for the entire Hong Kong... nice work... why should I buy the next iphone when warranty DOES NOT cover for the full 12 months???Hopefully Apple is reading this and do something about this.... because Im not sure how accurate is the liquid indicator and what if accidentally drop a few drops of water on the iphone... kiss goodbye to warranty and hard-earn money invest???very bad experience... as of now, my iphone still work with hard press of home button... also I would stop recommending my friends buying anymore APPLE products, PERIOD! I bought an iPhone 3G yesterday, and the first text message I tried to send the screen faded to white with vertical stripes, and then it just turned off. I then tried to reboot it, but I cant even turn it on! I tried plugging it back into the computer to see if iTunes will recognize it, nope. I tried plugging it into the wall, nope. Kept trying to reboot it, nope. I even held the sleep/wake and home button together for a solid 10 mins straight at once, nope! My question is, since I bought it from AT&T, will they just replace it? Or, will I have to drive 1.5hrs to the nearest Apple store? Thanks! Sony Vaio
the little piece between the ring/silent switch and the phone (that usually covers the red dot, when in ring position) broke off! i have no idea how/when (trust me i treat this thing as i would my own child) and i was just wondering if thats covered in the warranty, or if theres any possible way to fix it. im bummed, and can always see the red dot now so its confusing as to whether or not its actually on vibrate if it helps any, i got it on february 16th iphone 3g Windows XP
I am noticing that in the upper left corner (in the black part) of the iPhone 3G, there seems to be a layer peeling off from the inside beneath the display glass; forming like trapped air. Today my friend gave me his old half broken iphone. The bottom of it has dead spots. If I were to go to the Apple Store and pay $199 would they repair it even though he went in 2 weeks ago to get a new one. Seee... he went to apple with the iphone i have now(the one he gave to me) and got a replacement by paying the fee but they gave it back to him(the one i have now). So would I be able to get a replacement? btw its a first generation iphone. Windows Vista
I keep trying to update my phone from my computer, but it just wont work? Any ideas? I went to my AT&T store but they said they cant do it there.Does anybody know why this wont work? Also, i have a broken pixel, what can I do about that?Thank You
I have had my iPhone since November now. And I have never droped it once. The upper left corner of the screen makes a clicking sound if you lightly push on it. I am just affraid that it will get worse. Is this something I can take to the apple store and see if they would give me a new phone?
HeyI have a little problem with my iPhone 3G, the headphones doesnt fit anymore. I have used the headphones with the phone since I bought it (July 2008) without any problems, but today when I tried to plug in the headphones, they didnt want go all the way down, and sound quality was terrible. I can push it all the way down (and the sound is normal), but it goes up again if I release them. It seems like something is stucked in side there (altough I cant see anything), or that something is broken. I have tried with two different headphone (both made for the iPhone 3G) with the same result. It could also be dust, but I seems strange that it should go from working perfectly fine (yesterday) to not working at all (today).Anyone experienced the same problem with their phone before?Im considering going to the Apple Store in Orlando tomorrow to see if they can help (the ATT store where I bought phone couldnt help at all), but if someone knows something I can try before driving to Orlando, I would appreciate it.
Alas, my laptops (Macbook Pro) LCD is broken. While this is bad in and of itself, I cant figure out how to update my iPhone, either! Sadly, it hadnt been updated in a while, and I need some things from my calendar and contacts.I have access to another Mac (its a Powerbook G4) - is there a way to update my iPhone with a Firewire connection to my broken laptop or something? Any advice would be much appreciated!! Macbook Pro
A few months ago, my wife got her iPhone 3G a little wet and it ruined her phone. Took it to the Apple store and since this type of damage is not covered under warrantee, she had to pay a ridiculous amount of money to buy a new iPhone 3G, and they reset the 2 year contract! We kept the broken phone hoping that it would come back to life, and today, it did! What are my options? Were beyond the 30 day return period for the replacement phone. Can I sell it on EBay? Will Apple buy it back from me? Can I have my son use it as a very expensive phoneless iPhone Touch? If so, will there be any limitations? Thanks. iMac Intel dual core 2 Mac OS X (10.4.8) 2 GB
I bought my iphone through Rogers in November, so Im still under warranty. My home button is not working and my phone wont detect if its plugged in at all. If I take it into the Apple Store will they fix it? Or do you have to have bought it from the Apple Store for them to fix it? iPhone 3G Windows Vista
It seems like my iPhone 3G is broken, but I guess I will post here in case any one has come across this and knows how to fix it...Normal sound works for iPod, SMS, E-Mail and all other computer generated sound. The phone even rings normally. However, there is no sound from the phone itself. Callers can hear me, but I cant hear them. There is no sound if I turn on the Speaker. There is no sound if I use the headphones (ear buds)There is no sound if I use a bluetooth headset either.Ive done the resets, using the buttons. Ive done a backup / reset / restore via iTunes.Still no sound from the phone module itself, while all other sound works. The silent/vibrate switch is set to sound=On.Swapping the SIMM between iPhones leaves the fault with the original iPhone and does not follow the SIMM, so its not SIMM related.Internet access via the phone (3G) works fine.E-Mail can be sent and received via the phone.SMS works both sending and receiving. I just cant hear the caller via the ear piece, the headphones or a bluetooth headset.Any ideas ? Mac 8 Core Mac OS X (10.5.6)
I was surprised how easily the glass broke... I had a black DLO cover on it and dropped it on the wood floor. I did some research and it sounds like it will cost me 250.00 to fix it... Might as well buy a new one with that price.I did cover it with a clear shield plastic sheet so everything does work except it is ugly. But after awhile, I found out it was not only ugly but also was affecting other potential iPhone buyers. Our company just converted from Blackberry to iPhone for many people. Some actually saw my iPhone and got discouraged and stayed with Blackberry. I did explain that I prefer to have an iPhone with broken glass than a Blackberry but nope.Just something for Apple to think about... that 250.00 (if that is true) is way too high for something that will cost probably 10-20.00.I may end up using some duct tape to hold the cover down but I still love my iPhone. I once had an issue with my original iPhone and returned it to Apple after a lengthy battle with the idiotic members of the 02 shop.In short. My current iPhone 3Gs symptoms:All apps crash - I know that people have this problem but Im not being pathetic like most people are towards this software problem. Sometimes I cant even use the phone because of it. For example, If I try to call people when this problem occurs Ill open the phone app - dial a few numbers - crash - repeat - repeat -repeat... It makes the phone un-useable.Ill be in an app and it will crash, it will automatically go to the home screen then the iPod will open... I have not touched the home button - this is an application crash. The home button is unresponsive sometimes...The iPhone takes HUNDREDS of screenshots by itself when I try to lock the phone. Sometimes Ill try to lock it and itll just keep taking screenshots. Maybe the home button is broken?I think the hardware is damaged because when Im mid-way through a text and the app crashes (INFURIATING!) when I open the app again the message I just typed will be gone or It will have a half written message from a while ago when it last crashed.Ive put up with this for over 1 month and it has gotten slightly better but this is beginning to make me hate my iPhone. Ive tried to factory reset so many times to no avail. My problem is that the people in the 02 store near me are APPAULING. When I had an issue with my first iPhone they told me that the problem was my fault and accused me of lying about the issue because this is the first iPhone weve ever had back. The man who looked at my iPhone also proceeded to look through my pictures and text messages whilst examining the problem. The phone also suffered physical damage as they dragged it over their counter. In the UK is there any way of directly mailing Apple my phone to be fixed?I am also afraid that because of the intermittent nature of the problem that Apple will check out the phone for a few seconds and decide there is nothing wrong with it and Ill get it back!Advice? iMac 2.66GHz Mac OS X (10.5.6)

In the UK is there any way of directly mailing Apple my phone to be fixed?I am also afraid that because of the intermittent nature of the problem that Apple will check out the phone for a few seconds and decide there is nothing wrong with it and Ill get it back!Advice? iMac 2.66GHz Mac OS X (10.5.6)
well unfortunately last night i was aggravated at alot of things and it resulted in my phone eventually getting thrown against a wall. the glass is shattered, but the screen appears fine, though it is completely unresponsive, aside from pressing the home button or sleep button.do you think it would be worth it to try and fix my phone, without knowing if there is internal damage from the force of impact, and if so what do you think needs to be repaired?thank you in advance.Justin macbook
Life is kidding me right? I recently had to get my headphone jack replaced for $100 because Apple refused to fix/replace my phone. Now the silent switch is broken. The physical plastic switch broke off when I tried to switch it into silent mode. No additional force. It just fell off. Im pretty sure they will tell me the same thing that they do not cover physical damage from external force or some **** like that. But still wondering. Am I covered under my warranty, or am I going to have to blow another $100 on some minor problem? 8GB 3G Windows Vista
Hi, recently my iphone 3G has broken and when i sent it in to apple they sent it back and said water damage :-((... any way i heard that i can go to an apple store and trade in the old phone and get a replacement for 200$ ? Was wondering if this is true or if any one has done it? Macbook Mac OS X (10.5.6) black
HiI recently dropped my iPhone and completely ruined the screen, the touch screen still works however the amount of cracks in the glass make it pretty much unusable. I telephoned Apple support and they told me it would be £146 to repair, Im currently waiting for a box to arrive in order to send the handset off. What worries me at the moment however is that I was told on the phone that my handset may be sent back to me un-repaired. The person I spoke to at customer support wasnt very specific on the subject, merely said there are cases where the phone simply cannot be repaired. Basically, Im wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and was their phone repaired successfully? Currently this is what my phone looks like...http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/941/dsc00694l.jpgAnyone know if that is repairable or not? Many thanks to anyone that can help.
I bought my iPhone 3G back in mid August, and now the headphones are broken. The is coming off one of them and the other one isnt transmitting sound (theres a short in the cord by the mic). I looked through the support section, but couldnt find anything for replacing the headphones under warranty. Someone please help! iPhone
