i unfortunately purchased an iphone 5 only to find out wifi calling is not in it like most androids, any solutions?? (please don't tell me about skype or other wifi services) I am talking about a phone that just switches and calls out automatically on wifi for tmobile

MobileVOIP skype not work after 6.1.4 iPhone 5

Hi, I have an iPhone 5. Sometimes I use the MobileVOIP app for Voip calls. After the 6.1.4 update the application does not send the audio to the speaker (both call speaker and external speaker). It seems that the application recognize the earphones also without plugging them or it is not able to reach the internal speaker. The application works good with earphones. Also trying with skype, they don't work. Since the update focused on audio-problems, are there settings to solve this problem? Do any of you have the same problem? Thank You Roberto

Hi, I have an iPhone 4S with wifi button grayed out similar to the case here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559andhttps://discussions.apple.com/thread/4638071?start=0&tstart=0 I already performed a network reset, reset to factory setting and updated eveything via itunes. I know that its most likely a hardward issue as stated in the forum. Now here is the problem.  I bought the iphone from a local (philippines) online reseller http://lazada.com.ph.  Lazada would only give the the apple 1-800-1441-0234 number and will not accept any repairs and service.  I would never purchase anything from lazada specially electronics because of how they handled my case. Absolutely no support and repair /service channels for iphones bought from them.  As per lazadas advice, I called the 1800 number and was again adviced to call the local carriers.  I was adviced by the apple chat support to contact my local carriers. Local carriers like smart and globe would only accept repairs and service for iphones bought from them. I visited several local apple reseller stores and they decline to render service because the unit was not bought from them. I cant seem to get technical support and have the iphone checked by an authorized service center. What and where is the proper channel for me to get support and have the unit repaired or replaced? Thank you in advance.

Distortion when playing back audio left and right channels. iPhone 4S

Recently, my iPhone 4s has been producing distortion in the right channel when playing back music and/or making VOIP calls.  It is now starting on the left channel as well.  Making cellular calls is fine (no distortion).  Playing music through the doc connector is fine.  Playing music through bluetooth is fine.  Have I fried my onboard DSP for the onboard audio output devices?  When I record video, audio is unbearably distorted.

My iphone 4S camera takes really cloudysoft images

Hello Apple Community : ) Unfortunately my old faithful 3GS recently gave up the ghost so I purchased an iphone 4S via e-bay but from an individual seller opposed to a company. (1st mistake....) Phone's a 32GB in white and to be fair works fine in every way except the camera?? I've attached a couple of photos I've just taken with my phone and another iphone 4 and I'm sure you can see the difference!! All pictures are coming out majorly cloudy/soft?? Basically sh*t! Any ideas oh Apple gurus? I've googled it and not really seen anything that helpful but must admit it's starting to bug the **** out of me as I am rather partial in taking a pic or two....... Problem activating iPhone 4 on new network.

Hello, I have received an iPhone 4 from a friend who has recently upgraded, he is on vodafone and I am on giffgaff both in the UK. He has been in touch and been granted a factory unlock from his network for me, although when he originally retired the handset he did a full "as new" restore through iTunes. I cannot activate the phone with my sim as it's not the original carrier but therefore also cannot get beyond the activation of the handset in order to "apply" the factory unlock through iTunes.  Is there anyway around this problem or will I have to borrow/acquire a Vodafone sim to firstly activate and then update through iTunes? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick altogether? Help much appreciated!

I'm only recieving about 10% of the normal notifications from my favorite apps... skype: never unless I'm using the phoneWhatsapp: only when the phone is idle for long periods of timeTwitter's notifications haven't worked until I set foot in Italy this past weekend. 3g data connection on iPhone 4s inconsistent

Sometime around the Feb 8, I suddenly lost capability to access the internet thru the Virgin/Sprint 3g network and Safari.  Wifi works fine, as well as phone and text.  Have contacted Virgin multiple times with no result.  Spent 3 hours in Apple store, who gave me a new 4s but it has the same problem.  Have tried every solution seen on the net, including soft & hard reboots, toggling Airplane mode, and network reset.  I have not yet done a factory reset, holding that as a last resort. Odd thing is that some apps do work on 3g: Phone, Messages, Google Maps, Translator, Game Center, skype, Clock, Xfinity TV, iCloud, and Opera Mini. What doesn't work are: Safari, Weather channel, Xfinity Mobile, Google, Chrome, Dictionary, Stocks, Apple App & iTunes Store, Movie Night, Gas Buddy, White Pages, Apple Maps, Google Earth, and many more. The odd thing is that I can access Google through Opera Mini, and that works fine. I left the Apple Store convinced that the problem lay with Virgin Wireless, but after a lot of online investigation, I am beginning to think that it may be an iPhone problem. Is there anybody out there who can make some sense of what works and what doesn't and diagnose this problem so I can get the phone working back to where it is supposed to?

Headphones jack problem iPhone 4

Hello I got a really strange and annoying problem regarding my iphone 4 audio jack. the problem is whenever I play a sound the right channel of the headphones play's music really scrappy and low quality, especially the bass. but on the left channel everything works as it suppose. I am starting to suspect that it is a hardware because even after a clean restore it is the same and if the volume level is under half'ish then the right channel will barely work untill the volume is raised to 3/4 of the max volume making it seem more hardware related. thing I tried: clean IOS restore checking the jack with other headphones/stereo systems all of which gave the same results (right channel scrappy and left is clear) I also tested the headphones themselves. thanks Tal

Iphone 5 showing no signal but 3g works

Basically, I have received an Iphone 5 purchased from ebay (cash converters ebay) and I have done a sim swap from my giffgaff micro simcard to a NANO sim for the new iphone 5. I did the sim swap at around 1pm and I still haven't got any signal. Anyway My 3g is working but I dont have any signal bars at all and I can send Imessages but like I said no signal at all. I have contacted giffgaff about the 3g working but no signal but they said wait 24 hours tops. I dont mind waiting but wont the sim swap have finished with the 3g working or will it still be performing the swap? Also now I beginging to panich thinking the phone maybe blocked but I have asked a few people and said if the phones IMEI number was blocked the phone wouldn't even work with 3g so now I am stuck now. Can anyone help please or had any simular problems? Should I try cleaning the sim card ?

my iphone has wifi problem

well anywhere i go , i mean anywhere i go my iphone doesnt find any wifi networks at all , even in my own house. its not my router because everything else is connected to it and works fine but ! one day i went next to my router and my phone actually found my house network ! but i moved to the next room or even 5 feet away and its gone. how do i fix this ? i reset network settings, i did everything possible . i recently got the color of my iphone changed, but i dont think it can be anything inside, well can it? i really dont know where to go from here , if anyone can help PLEASE write back ! or skype me - JMS , thanks

iPhone 5 Internet not working

My iPhone5 internet has stopped working. I've tried turning off wifi and going to LTE twice... neither work. Tried safari (page won't load), mail (email won't download, skype (everyone offlien), and other apps. Nothing.  I've tried normal shut down and rebotted twice.  My home computer internet is working fine.  What could it be?

recording volume gets pretty low when plugged in an earbuds using mic of earbus iPhone 5

the recording volume gets so low that I can hardly hear myself talking when plugged in an earbuds using the mic of the earbus. It happens in every app, Voicememo, skype,etc, everyting that uses earpods' microphone.But when I plug my earpods into my older iphone, there is not the problem, everything just works fine. So it's definetly not an earphone issue, there must be something wrong within the Iphone 5. Please give me some advice

Wifi issues with and without iOS 6.0.2 on iPhone s iPhone 4S

I am having issues connecting to my AirPort Extreme router from both of the iPhones that I have in my household. One of the iPhones is an iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.2 and the other is an iPhone 4S running the latest version of iOS 5. Both of these devices have difficulty connecting to the access point in question, and will encounter one of the two scenarios: upon joining the network will get an error stating that the network cannot be joined, or after a successful join the devices will have extremely slow connections (15-30 seconds to get a ping back from the router) to which a point it is highly preferred to switch back to a cellular connection for speed reasons.  There are many other wireless devices in the house that are functioning normally, including two MacBook pros and an Xbox 360 all over wireless, and one desktop over a wired connection.  I've scanned the area wifi and have moved the Airport's channel to one that is not in use. It seems that this issue is isolated to the iPhones in particular.  Given that the two devices are different models, running different firmware and that other wireless devices can connect without issue I am at a loss on how to proceed with my troubleshooting. 

Unable to receive phone calls or texts iPhone 5

I ported my number 3 months ago to giffgaff and ever since then when I put my sim into any iphone I can't recieve any phone calls. When I put the same sim into an Samsung Galaxy S3 it works perfectly fine. I have gone back to giffgaff and they have done everything they can, I don't think there is a problem with them, I think the problem lies with apple. When I go into Messages tab on my iPhone 5 it says "waiting for activation...."  Can someone please help me resolve the problem

Viber Facetime skype Calls not working on iPhone 4S Help please

Hi,For the past week and a half, all of a sudden my viber calls, skype calls and facetime will not work on my iphone 4S.  I can text on my viber, however when I make or receive calls the person on the other end can’t hear me, it just cuts in and out and then disconnects.  The same thing is happening on skype & facetime, it connects for 2 seconds, can’t hear and then cuts off.  I have tried re-installing both of the aps, and still the same thing is happening,  and it is becoming quite upsetting living in another country (UK) from home, I have no way of contacting anyone.  Can someone please help me, do I need to contact Vodafone?  I am on a contract with Vodafone UK, and the phone was purchased in the UK.  Thank you.

Battery draining like hell iPhone 4S

Good day to you all,  Just want to ask for an advice, I have 4s running iOS5 did not upgrade to the latest version due to traffic issue at the mOment, Anyway i noticed while using my phone that the battery is dropping 1% every     3 minutes , while i am usingFacebook messenger-logged onSkype-logged on3g -on Siri - onwhile typing in messenger or skype the battery is just dropping like crazy also i noticed that my phone is heating at the backSo i dont find this normal at all , If you have same problem I would love to know the solution to this . Sometimes other side can't hear me iPhone 4

Sometimes the person I am talking with can't hear me. I can hear them fine. Happens when I make or receive calls. Happens also when using bluetooth. Doesn't happen (i.e. works fine) on skype and viber calls. Replacing the SIM didn't help.Any idea if this is a hardware problem or a network problem ? If hardware - which component might it be ? Can it be fixed on the spot at an Apple store ?I thought it might be one of the mics, but as noted, happens also with bluetooth, which doesn't use the iphone mic.

New iPhone 5 will not connect to WiFi

I finally upgraded to a iPhone 5 from my old 3G and I cannot get it to connect ot my home WiFi.  It can see the WiFi and I have WEP encription on the network using a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router and 128bit encryption and when I enter the password, the iPhone gives me an "incorrect Password" warning.  I have tried several times to enter it and even texted it to the phone and copied and pasted it to avoid any typos to no avail.  I have powered down the router, removed the encryption, tried another encryption key, rebooted the iPhone but cannot get it to connect.  This is a router with a 802.11 g and b protocol working on channel 11 and I have not had issue with our iPad 2, my wife's iPhone 3GS, my old iPhone 3G or our Macbook Pro.  I also tried to enter the network manually and it just does not want to accept the password whether it needs one or not.  What am I not doing correctly?  I say that there were some issues when people upgraded from an earlier operating system to the current one but this is a new phone as of yesterday??

iPhone 5 Battery Drains Rapidly

Hello, I am attempting to find a fix for my iPhone's battery draining too fast. Two days ago I purchased a new iPhone 5, the long battery life of the iPhone was one of the key reasons I upgraded. However I noticed after getting home that the battery was draining very rapidly (with 4 hours of normal usage) I have attempted to resolve this issue my turning off bluetooth and wifi when not in use. I have also looked online via a google search to see if I was the only one having this issue. I bought my iPhone 4 from an Apple store a couple of years ago and understood it to be unlocked.  Now I am changing provider and it appears to be locked. I have tried the new SIM card with other phones and it is okay.  Originally I was with Vodafone and have recently moved to giffgaff as I reached the end of my contract.  The iPhone won't start up instead it says "Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone.  Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card."Although my number has been ported across I place the old SIM back in the iPhone and it starts up.  Can anyone offer any advice?

Can I use VoIP at home and prepay service outside with same number iPhone

Hmm... After doing a ton of searching over the net, I cannot seem to find a simple answer to this. I want to setup to a prepay plan for my daughter.  After doing a lot of research I have settled on using a used AT&T iPhone 4 with the Straight Talk plan from Walmart. But ther is one problem. Straight Talk uses the at&t network and we have no reception at home. So I would like to phone automatically switch to using wifi when at home, just like it does for data. From what I understand, this means getting a VoIP system going somehow.  But when I go to the app store the number of VoIP apps is bewildering.   I would like to use something that will make it completely transparent, ie keeping the same iPhone number, being able to text msg and all.  Is that possible?  Can I do that with a known quantity like skype or vonage? Is there some extra hardware required?  Can I keep my number?  Any other recommendation? My ISP is Cox communications and my wifi is through an Aiport Extreme. Thank  you for any help in this rather confusing issue. Bo.

iOS6 and skype iPhone 3G

Ever since i upgraded to iOS6 my skype video is blurred. I am using an iPhone 4S. It was working perfectly fine before this upgrade. Anyone else had this problem

iPhone 4S wifi not working after update IOS.6

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S (IOS.6) and it completely screwed it up. My wifi isn't working-- from time to time it'll work, but it'll disconnect whenever I try to use Facebook, skype, or any other applications. I've never had this problem before until I got this update. Not only that, AFTER this update my phone doesn't shut off properly. Instead of it showing the powerslide, it automically turns off. Again, this ALL happened AFTER the update. It has nothing to do with my wifi or router because every other device in the house is working perfectly fine. What am I supposed to do? This is getting me real irritated. I even restored my phone-- I've done everything I could-- and still no luck. How can I fix this? I've tried calling the Apple Company and they don't give ANY useful tips for my issue. Help, please? It'd be greatly appreciated.

i Can't make any facetime call to any of my friends its asking for Wifi, how can you find wifi when you will be travelling and its just wast which out face time facility in Iphone 4S, why cant they add same features like skype video chat  or gtalk video chat features. you can check with Samsung they will provide all type of features which will help them to grow more popular then apple . kindly some one help me out on this how to make changes so when i am using 3G i can call facetime to my friends if this feature is not available then this phone is wast and we made dead investment by purchasing it . also why cant apple provide call blocking facility in iphone, we can block any calls or record any calls if we want or even block messages.

iPhone 4s Slow WiFi

I am not sure if I should post this in the iPhone thread or the Airport threads so I am posting to both to try and get the best results.  Here is the hardware I am using.Hardware: iPhone 4s (5.1.1), Macbook 13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008 (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4), iPad 1 (5.1.1), Airport Extreme (7.6.1) & a Airport Express (7.6.1) Airport Extreme is conntected to the cable modem all devices conntect to the Airport Extreme except for a Windows (Alienware PC) which is connected to the Airport Express using a extended network. Here is what's happening. I was getting really slow internet speeds about 2-3 MB down, so I thought it was my ISP. Contacted support and they said it could be the router, didn't really believe it to be the case but sure enough I hardwired directly to the cable modem and was getting around 15-20 MB down. So I have been using the Airport Extreme wireless options on various settings to see which channel and setting provided the best download speeds. I have tried to reset the network settings on the iPhone and shut down and restart the phone with the same results.  Anyone have any ideas? Or what channels and wireless settings should work the best? I know the iPhone is N capatiable but at only 2.4 GHZ. Also I am suprised that simply changing the channels and settings on the Airport Extreme would provide such different speed results for the different devices in my home. Thanks everyone!

iPhone 4S Battery life on 3G Network

I have a problem for eight months now. My iPhone lasts all day on wifi, but loses a percent every 1-2 websites when loading on a 3G network? Does anybody's iPhone do the same, or is it a corrupt app? I've done many restores; from backup and without backup. Same issue. I'm pretty sure it's an app that runs in the background when i close it from the multitasking bar. but I could never figure out what it is! Headphone jack only right channel. Has been a problem since new, is there a recall or repair notice? This is defiantly hardware as sometimes if the jack is just right both channels work. I see numerous posts about this issue.
