In the past few nights, my phone would charge if I had the cord in exactly the right place, but as soon as I touched it in the slightest, it would stopped charging. It did one of those charge, no charge things where it recognizes it for a second, vibrates to tell you it's charging and then stop and then start over again (lots of vibrates). Every once in a while I would get a "Charging is not supported by this accessory" notifications even though I'm using my factory-produced cord and adaptor. Then last night it stopped recognizing USB cords altogether. I tried two different cords, two different adaptors, three different outlets, and plugging it into my laptop. Nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions or have encountered similar problems? I would really like to be able to charge my phone before it dies. Thanks. Jason
Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. Please can someone help... model a1332
Hello, my iPhone5 wont charge I havnt had this problem until yesterday whenever i put my iPhone into the wall it doesnt charge it says 'tCHARGING IS NOT supported WITH THIS ACCESSORY' but whenever i put it into my computer it connects to itunes but doesnt charge? HELP!
You are not addressing Apple here, we are users just like you. Also, not a good idea to put your personal number on the world wide forum here for anyone to get. The iPhone has never supported bluetooth file transfer. This is a known fact. Check this support document for information on what bluetooth profiles the iPhone does support. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
how to visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement sim card
Hi I got an original handsfree kit in my Volvo XC90 -07. I think it was made by parrot! When I put it in the holder will I get a error message saying "this assesory is not supported" (some thing like that)and the phone will not charge. Do anyone know why?
This iPhone is not currently setup to work with carrier you're attempting to use. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked.
My iPhone 5 which is running iOS 6.1.3 for the past few weeks has bee charging off and on. I have two cords one that came with my phone and one I ordered off amazon, neither of the two cords is functioning proerly which is leading me to believe it may be a phone issue rather than cord. I wil plus it in and often get a "charging is not supported with this device" message ragardless if I use he provided apple brick, my laptop, or car port. It will mainly then switch off and on between charging and then just being plugged in not charging!
I am about to buy an unlocked iPhone 5 direct from Apple here in the UK, which will be pay-as-you-go, and I want to know if I can use a service provider here in the UK for most of the time, but when I travel to Germany (about twice a month) will I be able to swap out the UK SIM and insert a comparable one whilst in Germany, then swap back when I return home? As far as I can tell from Apple's web site info: (http://store.apple.com/uk/buy/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone5) "...About the unlocked iPhone.Unlocked iPhone isn't tied to one network, so you have the freedom to choose any supported GSM network worldwide. Buy unlocked iPhone at the Apple Online Store, then find a SIM-only plan for iPhone. Or contact your existing carrier to continue with your current plan..." That looks to me as if its possible, but I would like to know what other users have encountered All help & advice most welcome.
I upgraded from 3GS to 5 recently. My operator supports HD Voice calling. When I tried it from my iPhone 5 to any other phone which supports HD Voice, it was just regular call.In order to test we we in the same place several persons with HD Voice devices with the same operator.Between other devices it was OK.Putting others SIM cards into my phone didn't help. What else can I check? Any indicators, settings etc.?Is it iOS 6.1.3 which is installed or device itself?Wha could be done? Thanks for asnwering.
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.Only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported Carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card.
Today for some reason I am getting message "chargins is not supported with this accessory" when i hook up my phone to charge. The charging accessory i have is the same one I have had since i received my phone and its charging with an apple charger..even tried charging via my computer which is an Apple.I did order another charger but find this strange.
Has anyone come across this problem? It started at 3am this morning. The noise the phone makes when you first connect it to the charger was going off every few seconds. Since then it kind of charges then eventually jumps to the "Charging is not supported with this accessory" notice. Not sure what else to try. Its on the latest software version etc and I have tried 3 chargers and plugging it into the laptop but no joy. This is the 2nd iphone 4 I have had in 2 years. First one the home button broke after 7 months and this one is now doing this. I have seen lots of post about this but cant seem to find a solution.
Is any way - app to send files from my iphone 5 via bluetoothnot only to iphones devises but to all mobiles???Example i see a photo and i press the button that show me : send via msg or mail or ad to homescreen or rint etc....but must have a choise : send via bluetooth
I was charging it and listening to pandora when my phone started to feel really hot! I couldn't really touch it. The USB port that plugs into the outlet was hot, along with the actual USB plug in. And then the plug that goes into the phone was very hot too, and the bottom of the phone where the charger goes in was hot. So, in long story short, everything was hot. That was the first time I experienced that, and it scared me so I quickly unplugged the cord and it started to cool down. Not it is completely cooled, the phone, and the cord, and when I try to plug it in again to charge it doesn't charge. I thought maybe it was just the cord. So I got a different one, and it still didn't work. I even tried plugging it into the computer, and still no luck. Some additional information, I was using an extension cord, and was laying in bed. I also have been experiencing issues where the phone would be plugged in, and say that 'it is not supported' or something like that, and would stop charging. And also earlier today I upgraded my phone system to the 6.1.3 Please help!!!!! Will I have to send it in? I hope my phone isn't completely dead! :(
I was hoping to put some games on my ipod touch 2nd gen but i cannot download the newer software. is there anyway around this other than buying a new ipod
I have the iPhone 4S. The flashlight app says the led light is not supported by the hardware. What can I do?
Does anyone know when T-Mobile willbe added to the list of supported networks?
I'm heading from the US to Spain for a bit and would like to use my old AT&T 3G (GSM) iPhone 4. I don't anticipate being gone more then 4 weeks. I'd like to use my current App suite and iTune collection while there, and once I return I'll continue with AT&T. AT&T provides service in the EU but at a premium but is it worth swapping out the SIM for a local provider? Is 3G still supported in the EU? Has anyone had issues switching back and forth? Any opinion on what the costs might be for a local spanish pre-paid or short term contract SIM?Thanks for any comments.
I can not say how dissapointed I am, can any one tell me WHY, maybe we can get Apple to tell us, why they have taken the opt. out to sync the notes from an iphone to Itunes
Just yesterday went to my local Costco and bought myself a Logitech docking station and it was a great deal. On the side of the box it lists the devices that it will support. The iPhone 4 is listed. When I hooked it up and plugged my iphone 4 into it. This error come up "This accessory is not supported by iPhone". First, I was thinking what a way to get customers to buy and end it will end up not working. Buyer Beware. Apple should give us a update that will fix this software error on our iPhone's. There are millions of iPhone's out there and not having any problems using accessories and docking stations. Not fair to the rest of us out there that want the same benefit to the iPhone.
Dear all, My question is the updated iTune be supported by WinXP/ Thanks. Regards,Alison Kan
Hello. I am trying to unlock a phone for someone using their new Simple Mobile carrier. I read online that Simple Mobile uses Tmobile towers, so the iphone can work if it is unlocked. I have also unlocked my own iphone for tmobile, so I know this is true. The Iphone is unlocked, but it keeps forcing me to activate it when I put in the new sim card. When I try to activate it, it says that the simcard is not supported.when I insert the old at&t sim, it can activate, but the sim is a fake, its not a working card, so I am baffled. Once its "activated" with the old sim, I try to switch them, but it will always force the activation screen on me when I use the simple mobile card. -I have tried restoring the iphone-I have tried hard restarting the iphone. I did this before on my 4 on tmobile with no problems. So Im just doing the same thing I did then. Does anyone know how or have any tips for activating the iphone using an unsupported sim?
I just bought the entire Adidas Micoach running trainer, including sensors and the Adidas Connect adapter for iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1). When I insert the Connect adapter, I get an error that says "this accessory is not supported by iPhone". I have tried everything I can think of, including restarting the phone, re-installing the software, cleaning the connection port on the phone, etc. Nothing seems to work and I can see from several other forums that many other people are having the same problems. I have tried the adapter on another exact same phone, and it works. So the problem appears to be my iPhone. Adidas told me they cannot help since the adapter works on the other phone. Can someone please help, I would really like to use this device with my iPhone?
i am updating my iphone but am using new sim card which is not supported how can i unlocked my phone
Get another sim card cut. Is Sun a supported carrier?
hi alot got I phone 5 S now will 4S still be supported? I got my phone from a rental company they said they may have 5 S soon thanks and why is it called 4S or 5S alot of phones work on 3 G net work and some still work on old analog digital and I know my phone takes the sim card.
I have an iPhone 4, and it's having a charging problem. Whenever I plug it in, it starts charging, but after a bit of time it switches to "Charging is not supported with this accessory". However, after numerous times of unplugging and plugging it in, it eventually stays on charge (this is usually when I decide to leave it on, and not take it off in case it stops working!). Some things I need to mention before you say anything: - I have tried blowing into the port, and it is clean. - I recently got a charging dock (this problem did not arise until about a week of using this) - I used my phone to FaceTime somebody in the bathroom whilst having a bath, and a bit of water (literally a minuscle raindrop) splashed onto the phone. This problem arised on the very night of this event! So I suspect water damage, but I would rather look into this more before trying anything costly!
Intermittently my iPhone doesn't recognize my ihome and it says"this device isn't supported by iPhone". This is so annoying, any suggestions?
I rely on reminders - especially VOICE reminders. The app, AidaReminder, used to be able to play my recorded voice reminder even when the phone was locked. I need this capability - because it doesn't work to have to look at my phone. My phone isn't always physically near me or I'm working with something too messy to pick up the phone. Moreover, AidaReminder used to be able to keep alerting me until I turned it off. Now all I get is one alert chime, and I have to physically interact with the phone to know what the reminder is. I checked with other apps and they all have the same problem. On the VoCal app page: "iOS 6 users note: The mode that allows your voice to play as the reminder tone can no longer be supported in iOS 6. VoCal will revert back to alerting you to a reminder to which you then slide to listen to your recording." Why did Apple do this? Is this something they can fix in an update? Is there a way to let Apple know how HUGE a problem this is?.

Hi, has anyone tried the iPhone 5 with the lightning adapter in the life fitness treadmills that have iPod 30pin connectors. I tried myself and it didn't work, it recognizes the iPhone which charges and says accessory connected in the iPhone screen but apparently an image with controls of my music library are supposed to appear in the treadmill. Is this an "iPod out" functionality or is it because video is not supported or there is something I am missing (first time I try to connect iPhone/iPod to these machines). I was wondering if somebody else has tried. Thanks ps: I have sent an email o Life Fitness with this issue as they said before that audio should work and I am awaiting their answer.
Hey guys just thought I would highlight this as I should think many people have brought a new iPhone 5 in preparation for the release of the 4g network next year. Sadly I have to report that it is looking highly unlikely that you will be able to use you iPhone 5 on the O2 and Vodaphone network when they eventually buy the licence and launch their network. The reason quite simply the only frequencies which the iPhone 5 supports are not going to be available for the time being here in the Uk. EE is the only supported network in the UK and they have purchased the licences for the only frequencies in the uk which the iPhone 5 supports. O2 and the apple store both kept this quiet when I upgraded to my iphone 5, even when I made it clear to the apple store assistant I intended to use it on 4g when it's eventually released. "Yes it will work" I was told. The sales guy in the O2 store also told me the same. I've returned my iPhone 5 mainly because of bad battery problems however I also didn't want to be stuck with a 4g phone where I can't use 4g when it's released. I first read about this on the BBC website but this link explains the crocks of the problem... http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/09/12/apples-iphone-5-will-contain-limited-uk-4 g-lte-support-freezing-vodafone-o2/ Has anyone else been incorrectly advised and mis-sold? I'm now holding out to give EE a try, and, of course when the iPhone battery drain problem has been resolved.
Hi, In case any of you is wondering about iPhone 5 models and whether they work in Europe if bought in the US, I would like to share my successful experience: You can buy a Verizon unlocked phone in an Apple Store in the US. Be prepared for the Apple Store person to be a little confused and ignore the "but that is not GSM" or "CDMA does not work in Europe".Check and make sure that it is model A1429. Further check that it is a Verizon model [1]. This can be done by parsing one of the ends of the box with all the barcodes without having to open the plastic. Not sure this makes a difference, but I replaced the stock Verizon SIM with my European SIM before activating in iTunes. <- Is this really needed? The phone works with my European SIM in the US, UK, FR, and CH.3G works without a hitch and the rates are much better than in the iPhone 3G.Enjoy a >10% discount on a fully unlocked phone. I have not yet tested LTE. From the table at http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ the Verizon A1429 model supports a superset of the bands supported by the European A1429 model. Feedback on point 3 and your experiences with LTE are welcome! [1] Verizon 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB models in black are MD654LL/A, MD658LL/A, and MD664LL/A. The white 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB models are MD655LL/A, MD659LL/A, and MD665LL/A.

How do I fix "charging not supported by this device" error when connecter to USB port or wall charger?
Hello to everyone I just came back from holidays and my parents bought me for christmas a brand new Iphone 5, the box was sealed, today in the morning I went to the o2 shop to buy a nano sim, and when I got home and tried to activate phone this message appeared : Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier’s storeto receive a replacement SIM card... phoned my mother asked she said she bought this phone on ebay. I looked it up and it does say it is unlocked and stuff. is there a posibility that the phone is unlocked it just needs a right sim card to activate it? What should I do? I don't want to return this iphone as I already put screen protectors cases on, it's like mine now just not activated.. what should I do?

My iPhone 4s is having charging problems. Everytime i hook it up to the charger it flicks on and off charging then not charging and it says charging is not supported with this accessory.
I recently bought an iPhone 4 from a polish guy and he told me he had bought it for his mum in Poland but because it was too complicated for her to use so decided to sell.I checked it out and it was working normal except I couldn't make any calls in the UK obviously as it was locked to a Polish carrier. On phone details I noticed it said Telenor, but after research I understand there is no Telenor in Poland, rather Orange, T.Mobile are the main carriers.Telenor cover Norway, Sweden and Pakistan.I then decided to restore(stupidly) using a T.Mobile SIM card but unfortunately on the 3rd screen of set up it said SIM card inserted not supported. I then bought a factory restore off eBay where I supplied the phone's IMEI number and then was told this would permanently unlock the phone to any network in the world. however, this hasn't worked even by attempting to restore via iTunes.I am beginning to think I need a remote unlock and restore from apple or find out the original sim that it was locked on to as I can no longer locate the chap I bought the phone from. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.ta
I purchased an iPhone5 not knowing that there is an issues with the bluetooth connecting to my headset/computer. With the computer I get an error message that this "device is not supported". I would like to be able to connect my headset with my phone to when I am driving. Any ideas?
When I try to create a card here in Germany, I receive this message: Ordering in your country is not yet supported. What can I do? (by the way, there is no way to set up the group here for the correct app)
the sim card inserted in this i phone does not appear to be support
My IPhone4S has just started to display above message, and will not charge. I've tried everything - different cables/charges, airbrushing the connectors, reset, restore etc. When plugged in it seems to be getting a trickle charge as the battery is not running down completely. I visited Apple Store in Regent St & followed their advice (as above) but to no avail, t seems that it is going to cost £25 just to talk to someone from Apple and £146 for it to be looked at (with no guarantee of a repair). Wondered about trying an independent repairer - any recommendations ? The phone is 18m in to a 24 month contract so wondered if its worth cutting my loses and going for an early upgrade, cost £264, & getting new Iphone 5 with EE. On the other hand I'm very disappointed with Apple - this seems to be a well-known problem and not acceptable for an expensive product to go wrong after 18 months - and to ask £25 just for a phone call is taking you know what ? Any thoughts anyone ? ThanksRichard
